Locked bootloader? How to lokify before flashing:
In Advanced Menu / Toggle Loki Support : enable auto loki
Flash the zip file and you are done
However, all versions released after PhilZ Touch 6.01.2 will have a script in installer to lokify the image even if you are coming from older recoveries or TWRP.
Unlocked bootloader users can still extract the recovery.img file and restore it from inside recovery:
put recovery.img in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/philz_update/recovery.img
In Custom Backup and Restore menu, unselect all except recovery
validate to browse to the update recovery.img
done

I will try it and post results later
Thanks!

Yes :good:
And, please, people, read the FAQ and guides on main thread before complaining...
CM users need /data/media while all NORMAL people can use default setting
Because cm defaults to a custom non existing path: /sdcard/0 while it should use /sdcard or just /data/media/0 or auto detect like I do

I noticed this recovery is not lokied. Is that ok for our devices?

No
If you have a folder /data/media/0, by default, this recovery will use /sdcard linked to /data/media/0
Since Cyanogen Updater is silly and using /sdcard/0, we end up with /data/media/0/0 which will fail
So, if you are a CM ROMs fan, set it to /data/media
If you use stock ROMs and you have /data/media/0 as sdcard in main ROM, keep it to /data/media/0 to be able to directly see your files in the good path in recovery AND in ROM

I don't think is good for the ATT e980, we need a recovery with Loki support to be able to install ROMs.

Some one has to loki it
However, it does have auto loki feature in settings once you install a new rom

Flashable Recoveries In FOTA partition CWM and TWRP

After Dees_Troy post here about recovery in FOTA partition. I believe from now on every kernel develper will implement elf extract in his/her kernel then end user can choose whatever they like to use.
If you are lucky enough (your kernel already support elf extract) then choice is your!!
Make your choice, download then install zip in recovery.

No, you need to install a custom kernel with elf extractor supported. And you can not install custom kernel on a locked boot loader. so no chance.
Are there any ICS kernels that support this do you know?

You are not tie a recovery that came with your kernel so
1. You can choose between CWM and TWRP
2. You can upgrade version of your recovery without upgrade kernel.
I saw you are using Stock+ kernel which came with TWRP 2.4.1 you could try upgrade TWRP 2.4.3 or if you like CWM you can change by flash the other
Can I flash TWRP on FXP CM10 - 209? I think that FXP ROM's have this feature merged but I'm not too sure
Edit: I noticed in the updater script for TWRP it says
Code:
ui_print("Flashing CWM to FOTA...");
Should this be?
Code:
ui_print("Flashing TWRP to FOTA...");

If it is implemented then yes, the recovery should work.
Thank you for your good eye :good: The recovery image is the correct one but only ui_print is wrong. If you check both zip file. It is exactly same. It ment to write recovery image to FOTA partition.
I will correct the typo an upload. Meantime you could try to flash it. DON'T forget to create a backup first.

I loved TWRP when I was on the S3, but on the S4 it appears to be too sensitive. When I try to install a zip file and scroll down the list of folder using my finger it will enter that folder i did not pick.

Yes, there is an issue with that since the touch screen is so much more sensitive on the S4, but it will be fixed soon. Team Win is working on it.

No problem buddy. My thinking goes something like, if it ain't broken, why fix it.
Getting an error when trying to flash though recovery. It gives an error "failed: getprop ("ro.product.device")"
I flashed 5.11 after I ran into an issue with TWRP 2.6.3.0 not formatting my system correctly. Very impressed with the features, but I wish the category buttons were just a few pixels wider. Other than that it flashes and erases perfectly. Thank you for the port!

All I did was fallow your link and DL the file listed on AFH. It was file name philz_5.11-d2spr_cnexus.zip
Edit: just checked again. Same file. Was listed for gnote2.
Im running whomp4.2 and saber kernel. Tried flashing in cwm and in twrp and same error in both.
Awesome. I'll check it out now. I got a little nervous when I saw brightness settings and a file explorer option that didn't respond so I stuck with what I knew I will go in and change it now though. Thanks for the tip!

[ROM][d802] Recovery Flashable d802 STOCK 80220B Open EUR (rootable)

Made this from the new 80220B Open EUR XX kdz. This is the 16GB/32GB version. Works well, no Bloat, no carrier logos or splashscreens. I'm on SIM Free UK version, for interest. But this will work on any European d802. 4G is fine.
This is the complete LG KK 20B ROM - nothing missing or messed with.
If you follow the method below exactly, no Audio glitches, no Touchscreen problems.
You can flash SuperSU and get root if you wish - your choice.
I provide this assuming you have an understanding of the terminology used below and appreciate that any flashing activity has some risk.
I strongly advise against using any form of restore from previous backups, such as TB or Nandroid.
Once the process is complete, custom recovery will be lost.
Method:
Download both the ROM zip file linked below and SuperSU zip file (if you want root) and copy to your SD card.
You need to be already on Rooted JB or PURE CM11 with either TWRP 2.6.3.3 or 2.6.3.4 (nothing else).
Reboot to TWRP recovery
Wipe: System, Data, Cache. Dalvik (nothing else)
Flash the ROM zip - ignore any "FAIL" warnings.
Wipe Cache and Dalvik (nothing else)
Go to the Mount page in TWRP and select System (leave the other defaults alone)
Flash the SuperSU zip - ignore any "FAIL" warnings
Reboot

In guessing that if we want a fully open flashable system as before we need to install this ROM, then flash the patched Kernel, then reflash our custom recovery, all in the same recovery session. Is that right?

[ROM][d802] Recovery Flashable STOCK 80220B Vodafone DE (+root)

Made this from the new 80220B Vodafone DE kdz.

Don't use AutoRec to flash TWRP - you will lose Knock code.
Alternatively - if you have flashed TWRP on another KK Stock ROM (using AutoRec), you can full wipe (not SDCard) and flash this directly without going back to JB.

Hey, you mentioned in this thread that you were going to upload a flashable ROM with knockcode.
Is this what you were talking about? You don't mention Knockcode in the OP. Also at the moment I'm running Stock Kitkat, rooted and with custom recovery. Do I just go into recovery and flash this? (Assuming I have the right TWRP and I wipe Cache and Davlik) You have said its okay to be on rooted JB, just wondering if being on rooted KK changes anything.
Yes this is the latest with Knock code. It would be fine to flash from any other KitKat ROM with custom recovery. Make sure you make the correct wipes.
You forgot download link!
Also PrimaryGPT.bin is partition table so may have issues with phone storage size after flash... I could be wrong and it could be fine...

I'm not testing this build - I don't want Voda bloat and 80220C Open is perfectly fine for me in all ways - I cannot for the life of me understand the hankering for Kock code.
Tried knock code and its awful...seems like its basically a pattern/number pin with invisible buttons...

Quite! lol
I did this on request from a couple of members.
Link now live
Thanks. Personally I like knock code. It is easier to unlock while driving. . What could those two binaries do?
If anyone has a Pioneering Spirit, or the necessary cajones to try it, please report back!
You are scaring me to try it.
PrimaryGPT.bin
is for the partition( 16gb or 32gb)
and it can be excluded from the rom

well... of course the 2 additional .bin files could be excluded together or one by one... or left there.
Vodafone DE have both 16GB and 32GB variants, IIRC. Which may be why those files are there. So in theory it shouldn't matter if the whole ROM is flashed.
ROM wouldn't be stock if those files were removed.

Anyone who has flashed the kdz itself would have had the 2 files anyway, and it works.
Just need some feedback from those who have downloaded my flashable ROM and flashed in its entirety.
Hi, i have a stock 80220A and AutoRec installed. Do i need to go back to JB, or i can flash dirctly?

This info is in the OP...
Wipe everything except SDCard and flash.
I will give this rom a try in the afternoon. I have a 32 gb version. Hope no bad surprises for Easter.
Hi flash this as per instruction from open. I was previously on cloudystock rom so all I did was install twrp recovery and then flash rom then flash supersu. ....Rom is running smooth on a UK d802. ... plus knock code is working as it should. But I don't particularly like it but it's working ..
Will run this rom for rest of day to see if any problems
Thanks

Been running rom for about 5 hours
Just installed myself too. So far so good... Later on I will report for issues, if any. Installed recovery as well... Thanks for the rom.

I think I got my first issue. Double touch to waken the screen and knock code do not respond while I am charging. Don't know why.
