This is a 4.4 CM11 MMS I themed up, I've tested this APK and everything is working perfectly on Kit Kat (including google edition) This will work on any 4.4 build for any phone so if you are coming to this post from another device this APK should work perfectly fine for you too
special thanks to hello00, I used a few images he had handy in one of his themes and to CM for supplying the APK
enjoy it!! and please don't forget to hit the thanks button

Would this apk work on the touch wiz ROM?
Anything like this mms w/ quick reply, would help... If possible send link

It's not working for me :/
Edit: I figured what was wrong. Even though the permissions were set correctly, I also had to make sure the ownership was both set to root and then had to fix permissions.
At first, it was Rw--r----. I changed that to Rw--r--r and then went into ownership and made sure it said root, root. Fix permissions, reboot and done. Just letting anyone know how I did it so nobody got stumped like me.

Any Dialer or Contact inverted app as well?

This is great work. I was curious about the call icon in the notification list. It's white while reply and read are blue. Can this be changed?

Can this be used with a TouchWiz ROM?....

which one was a no go? hopefully you used the stock version. it should work on ALL ROMs and phones. the other 2 will of course not work on stock ROMs. AOSP only.
I'm a little confused about what you mean by (MMS is borked. Use stock for MMS sending) does flashing this install a separate messaging app and I will need to switch back and forth in order to use mms messages?
yes. for the mms borked one it is a separate app. you can run this app side by side with any messaging app on all ROMs.
Hmm... "messaging has stopped" this occurs when I scroll through the threads.

Mms didn't seem to work. As was originally posted. However I came across this and it works fine. Mms is supported with no problems. It's pretty solid. Make sure you go into root explorer and back up your stock messaging app first, it's titled as "SecMms.apk"

This will clear your messages.
Back them up before flashing.
Flash this at your own risk - it is working on my phone, but that doesn't mean it is guaranteed to work on yours.
I am not responsible if your phone explodes, implodes, melts, bricks or anything else.
This mod is for deodexed TouchWiz 4.1.2 ROMs built from T-Mobile UVDMD5 firmware.
I don't recommend flashing it on anything else.

What is this mod?
This mod replaces the stock TouchWiz messaging app with the CM10.1 (AOSP) messaging app.
Why would I want that?
Maybe you want Group Messaging, Emoji, Quick Reply or just a cleaner (in my opinion) messaging app.
Ok, sounds good. How do I install it?
Download the attached zip file and flash it in TWRP or CWM, then reboot. It's that easy.
Can I use a different Mms.apk? I want it inverted!
You sure can! I'm currently using a nice inverted on I found on RootzWiki, but any 4.2.2 Mms.apk should work. Just rename it to SecMms.apk and put it in the /system/app folder.
It deleted my messages! Why?!?!
That's why I told you to back them up earlier. You did read that, right?
I don't like it.
Flash the attached uninstaller. Not everyone likes the same things, it's OK.
How can I make this mod myself?
Loserskater over on the AT&T forums made a nice guide on how to do this, you can find it here, and maybe give him a thanks while you're over there :good:
Thanks to loserskater for coming up with the method that made this possible!

[APP] [PA] [HALO] Modified Mms with Halo Support (emojis etc)

Custom Mms APP that notifications works with Halo. I've only tested on PA 3.60 but it works for me! Right now it's the black theme MMS, but I'm going to work on it having the default mms theme within a few days.
I have tested this on my own N4, but I would treat this as a "beta" ( I had one crash when using this, trying to enable splitting sms messages, and also when clicking "reply" from the notification bar, but that's what Halo would be used for )
Credit SimRom team, Paranoid Android team
EDIT
putting up white theme mms that has less features, but all work (like reply in pull down notification)

When swapping a System/app rename current one Mms.bak then copy and paste new mms in System/App and set permissions with Root Explorer or similar! Best to reboot and wipe cache to make sure it installs correctly.Hope this helps

I tried to get this MMS to work, but I ran into issues. I'm new to compiling roms, and I could never could get this one to work without throwing errors. However, if you could find someone who is able to build the rom (maybe in their main thread) this commit is all that is needed to change the mms app to work with halo https://github.com/ParanoidAndroid/...mmit/1b4cb5d2ba4616061859a55ebb9e82c61fecb3ed
There is another commit in another package, but it looks like the Xenon team has already added it (which makes me think they will be possibly fixing the MMS soon)
Sorry I wasn't able to get it working!

You can also select more options like: no avatars in message and list, bubbles or not and more.

Ok this might sound a bit dump now but that´s because I didn´t use CM11 for now and as far I know in CM11 you have to use Hangouts or 8sms.
So is this a replacement mms app for CM11 or is it just CM11 like themed?

I've found that if you have Wifi enabled it won't send MMS but if you disable the Wifi and run 3G or 4G you will be able to send MMS.

This statement is correct! The MMS apk I applied is from the Sprint S5 because the one supplied in the international thread didn't have working MMS send at all.

You can always Odin back to 4.3 and then reroot and use Beans method to update to 4.4 rooted!

This is a working version of the S5 messaging app. It is a very nice messaging app.
REQUIRES 4.4.2
Everything working on my end, send and receiving of MMS as well. This MAY require the S5 framework, but it may not. I am not offering support for this, just sharing!
Place the SecMMS_blue.apk in System/Priv-App and set permissions. Remove/rename the original SecMMS.apk
Place the SecTelephonyProvider.sms in System/App and set permissions, remove/rename original.
Also... it does seem to take a minute or 2 to send the MMS. If it didn't send within a few minutes... turn off WiFi and see if it works!
PLEASE hit thanks for me, I appreciate it!

Followed your instructions, and can get the S5 messaging app to run. However, when I try to delete a thread within the app, it FCs. I'm using XVoice+, too (not sure if that matters) on VZW NC2.
