Think i am bricked... Help... Sprint LG G2 - Sprint LG G2

HAS BEEN FIXED...
I have TWRP recovery, and wiped EVERYTHING before trying to install the Rom, never had a phone that didn't really have a MicroSD, and I guess I wiped the internal memory also... meaning I have no rom to flash...
"adb devices" is not recognizing the phone so I can't Push/Sideload...
I can boot into recovery, but can't do much else without being able to use adb
HELP... any suggestions.

Have you tried mounting the usb storage via recovery and copying the rom from there?

No. Sorry, I believe it is just Cwm that allows usb storage in recovery.(I could be wrong) As stated above, install the drivers to try to fix adb if that fails then you may need to take a look at this. Good Luck:good:

I tried that "[Guide] Unroot/Unbrick - flash official factory firmware with LG Launcher"
It seems to see the phone, and all, but when it goes to download the firmware from LG, it just hangs, reading the posts there, looks like others have it hang at the same place mine did...
I think I am just SOL, till someone figures out how to make a tool that will fix this...
I am sure I am not the only one that will accidently wipe everything leaving it in a state where you don't have a rom to flash back on it...
so I am sure someone will make something soon...
till then will just have to go back to my old phone.
Thanks.

I would assume you need to try to get fastboot working, but I have never tried to get into the G2's bootloader. But you'll get ADB - Fastboot working, you will, you just need to keep trying. Try someone else's computer if you have to.

I really need to just find the kdz firmware for the Sprint LG G2... I think I have a way of flashing it... just need to find it...
I have found about every G2 except the Sprint one...

I found it herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 and am in the exact same boat as you. I was about to flash a recovery I made and accidentally wiped EVERYTHING including my recovery image. I'm downloading the Sprint kdz as we speak and please let me know what else you are thinking as a way of flashing that file. I can get into TWRP, stock hard reset mode (which doesn't seem to do anything) and download mode.

You are looking at doing the same thing I am going to try, but when I went to where you download... the only Sprint image I see is a .zip... not a .kdz... and that program they use only recognizes .kdz's...
In reading that feed, they said that in the US they don't use .kdz's... so still looking into that, I have a post in that thread and maybe we can get more help...
But your in the EXACT spot I am in, I can get into TWRP, hard reset, and download
If you can figure it out PLEASE post here, and I will be doing the same, I am sure there will be a lot of people doing what we did without thinking, and I guess we were the first, and will be the leaders... LOL
Thanks.

well ****. I'm going to try the method listed in that thread but I don't know if it's going to work. Nothing seems to identify my phone properly. The LG mobile support tool recognizes it as "testdevice" and when I try updating recovey through the program it hangs once it says "downloading files". I'll post anything I can find as soon as I find anything. Please do the same. I just bought this phone yesterday and already managed to f it up.

Mine does the same with the hanging in "downloading files" I sort of think they might not actually have the file up for Sprint yet... I think its just to new... I bought mine 2 days ago also, just long enough to say, what a cool phone, let me BRICK IT... LOL

I got adb to recognize my device as "02f1a913c6922256" but it says it's offline. if I can get it online somehow you think i could sideload a zip?
Also where do I get the "LGE Android MTP Device" drivers? They say failed and I'v tied the newest available drivers package. Or iss this just an error cause of the state of the phone?

You should be able to, as long as you can get adb to see it, you are good, you can even just adb push a rom over to the "NON" SDCard... and then just flash from TWRP...
The main problem we have is that without a SDCard that you can take out and put a rom on, we are stuck.

sorry i am a little new to forums. yes my phone is rooted and i dont believe i downloaded a custom recovery partiton. to be honest im not to sure what that is... thanks for trying to help buddy.
Ok... By your answers then I know you kinda screwed, but not quite dead... what happens exactly is that you removed the main launcher, the interface between you and the device... if you say that it reboots, not much we can do here be cause we may push a launcher APK to /system/app (generally, there is where the "system apps" are located) and see if phone lives again, but as it is rebooting not sure if it can be done... Have critical info in the phone? If not, you can restore it to factory state!
Here is a external guide to restore the device back to factory state: http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-downgrade-lg-optimus-c-back-to-stock.html
Additionally, you can check some other info in this post (not quite your case but sometimes other problems have some clues to resolve main problem): http://www.cricketusers.com/cricket...tboot-mode-started-udc_start-3.html#post12007

Damn, no fastboot mode (at least you can't boot into it)...
Anyways, there is nothing worst than haven't tried at all... Do you have the Android SDK installed? Check http://developer.android.com and install the SDK; also download a custom recovery from here: http://unleashedprepaids.com/media/MS690/recovery.img... Once done that, remove battery from phone, replace it, in a command prompt (or terminal if using Linux), write this command "adb shell", just write it, don't press enter yet. Connect the phone to the PC and turn the phone on, while booting, press enter to the command and follow the guide here: http://playfuldroidz.com/wiki/index.php?title=CM74OC#How_to_Install_ClockworkMod_Recovery: as fast as you can (copy/paste preferably)... if everything went well, now you have a custom recovery and you can backup the mess the phone is at right now (BACKUP, really, do it)... download and install any new custom rom and you are good to go...
Let me know how it went...
thanks so much havent tried yet but that route sounds like it might work. i am a little confused in some areas but after i read it over and over i will comprehend it a little more. i will follow step by step and let you know how it turned out. again thanks buddy. you brought some light into this dark matter.

[Q] HELP - Wiped the OS off of my Galaxy S3 I747

Alright, well I've come to a problem and I'm not quite sure how to fix it.
The title pretty much says it all, I've completely wiped the operating system off of my phone. There is nothing left, absolutely no data or anything. I was much too hasty and irresponsible, and I fear for the worst. I had previously attempted installing multiple ROMs multiple times using CWM to no avail so I re-rooted and switched over to Team Win. I know before installing a ROM you have to wipe your phone, well... I hit advanced wipe and within that I hit "system", went ahead and wiped. There's nothing left on my phone my phone and there are no ROMs on my SD card. I had backed up my phone before wiping but when I wiped that was also deleted. Before restarting it always warns me "No OS installed on your phone, are you sure you want to reboot?" Of course it's bricked and stays at the "Samsung Galaxy SIII" screen. I attempted putting a stock ROM back on my phone through ODIN, but a'las it didn't work (always stops at "SetupConnection"). I have nothing and there is no way for me to get a new ROM on the phone, I obviously cannot connect to my computer unless through download mode because the phone is bricked. So, what do I do? Is there any hope left for me or am I just completely screwed? The phone is less than a month old.
another option is to purchase a micro sd card and place a ROM and gapps (if required) on it, install the card and boot into recovery.
so when you connect your device to your pc, you're getting a yellow com connection in odin? what link did you follow for a stock ROM?
as long as you can still access recovery and download mode, there is hope, buddy.

Yeah, when I connect to the PC I get a yellow com connection in ODIN. I followed what is, perhaps, a sketchy looking link for the stock ROM... It's not letting me post a link because I'm a new member to the board, though I've looked over this place plenty of times in the past. Should I look for something a bit more official and retry? I don't think it's going to work. Will a ROM work, without an OS? I know that may sound silly but everything I've tried so far has failed.
here's a link to the stock firmware with root already injected: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
flash the tar in odin like you have been. make sure the auto reboot box is unticked. if you get a PASS after flashing, unplug the device, pull the battery, replace it and press the recovery button combo. once in recovery, wipe data and wipe cache. reboot.
lemme know if that worked, otherwise throw a ROM on a micro sd card as stated and go that route
btw, a ROM is the OS.
And also, my phone has to be rooted for a ROM to be installed, right? Well there's no guarantee my phone is still rooted since I've wiped literally everything on the phone. I like the idea of a placing it all on an SD card but that could be wasted money and I don't have very much money to spend, especially if a ROM isn't going to replace all of the needed system files which have been deleted.

Read a zillion threads, nothing sticks

So I've rooted my phones for the last 5 years, nexus 1, droid, rezound, gs4, n5 and then the m8. finally i screwed up, and i was getting bootloops. in my slightly panicked state i managed to wipe the OS completely off of the device.
i can get into fastboot and from there also TWRP recovery. i've read a million threads, adb sideload, One_M8 all in one kit, etc....
I can't figure out how to now simply flash a stock ROM onto my device. can anyone spell it out in a way this idiot can get it? i;ve downloaded a gazillion things. i'm stuck. i had to go pay full retail for a phone because as a realtor i simply can't be without one even for a day. it's my lifeline. i'd like to fix this one so i can return the new one and save $700.
thanks.
When you say you wiped the OS, did you also clear the partitions? Are you booting into recovery by flashing TWRP and then booting into recovery... or are you booting into recovery via "fastboot boot"? If you have partitions still, you can use a USB OTG adapter and memory stick (or just sdcard) to store the firmware.zip file and flash it from TWRP.
IF, on the other hand, you wiped your partition table, you are in a bigger mess. It's possible a RUU can help, but I'm not familiar with them so can't comment beyond suggesting that you look into that more...
In the development section there is a system dump by (Mike1986). If your computer still recognizes your phone, download system dump to computer, copy it to your phone's internal storage, get into twrp and flash.

There is a DEV RUU out. You can use that. Or if you want ATT, or GPE, find the zips, and use fastboot commands to flash. If the computer can see the phone and you can issue commands, then there is nothing to worry about. Been there done that dozens of times with the M7. After playing with this M8, seems to be the same. Let us know where you are stuck, i.e. don't know the commands, or don't know where to find the zips.

I can't figure out how to now simply flash a stock ROM onto my device. can anyone spell it out in a way this idiot can get it? i;ve downloaded a gazillion things. i'm stuck. i had to go pay full retail for a phone because as a realtor i simply can't be without one even for a day. it's my lifeline. i'd like to fix this one so i can return the new one and save $700.
thanks.

Have you got an external sd card? whack it on there using a card reader and flash from external sd
---------- Post added at 11:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:01 AM ----------
If that won't work on TWRP use philz
not sure if i wiped the partitions. don't think so.
i can't transfer files to the device, the pc recognizes it to give fastboot commands via a command prompt, but not as a removable device.
i'll get an sd card on my way home today and try flashing a rom using recovery.

He wiped the OS, which is Android, thus he can't just plug it in and transfer files back and forth anymore.

oh pretty cool. i have the sd card now and going to try. otherwise i may take you up on your offer.
anyone have a link to the right ROM zip file to flash for AT&T version phone?
EDiT: NM Found the thread in the Development section. Flashed it. Currently it's booting up, Android is upgrading optimizing all apps.

very strange. after flashing and rebooting, i didn't have a clean install of Android, all my customizations and apps from before were installed. and i got the same random reboots. so all that info was still on the phone. went back into recovery and wiped everything, then re-flashed. now have a fresh clean install of stock 4.4.2
Thanks everyone! i kinda thought the sd card thing would be the easiest but the comments in this thread confirmed it and it worked.

That's the beauty of the sd card slot mate, i have saved my m8 countless times. i would always make a backup of your phone prior to tinkering but this really helps save ur ass if you forget to backup.
Glad everything is ok and that this simple solution worked :highfive::good:

Softbricked my T-Mobile G3

Stock Tmobile G3 with TWRP and rooted. Woke up, and before I could think I applied the T-Mobile update. Now every time I reboot it instantly moves into the TWRP bootloader.
How do I fix this? I'm hoping not to lose any data as for some reason Titanium Backup wasn't backing up.
I just did the same thing. I'm trying to unroot now but NONE of the methods I am finding online are working.
I can't even use the OTA method cause the phone will not turn on, just keeps rebooting into TWRP.
I knew I shouldn't have rooted.

Rooting is fine, it's just we shouldn't have updated. Most likely the boot is messed up, and it's trying to boot into the stock boot loader, and TWRP doesn't support the script.
I assume if you flash stock bootloader, and restart, it should try and update -- but then we'll run into the issues that other people are having where we lose root.
I figured it out! OMG IT IS WORKING! (10% right now)

Make sure your drivers are updated. Mine weren't. You can tell by going into the device manager. If there are yellow exclamation point triangles then you can visit the YouTube video I provided you above to download the updated drivers.
WOO HOO! No one has any idea how happy I am right now!

I don't care about that. I want to lose root. It causes too many problems. IDK why I even did it in the first place.
So, it failed the first time and now I have restarted it... I'm hoping it doesn't fail this time.I got past the 10% I was at... I'm at 11% but it is taking a while...

Can't recover after OTA update
I tried the above fix and it didn't work. I can't even get my drivers to install properly. just a yellow bang in device manager. I don't know what to do. Is there a simple way to get back to stock? With an actual G3 guide? Thanks.

This wipes all of your data too. Is there a way to recover from soft-bricking the LG G3 after the OTA update without wiping all of your settings and data. I am stuck on the TWRP startup screen.

Yes, it fully worked. Ignore the out of space message. Wipe both FOTA and MISC

Thanks. I followed that guide and used both the ADB and non-ADB methods and neither worked. Can I just delete these files using the File Manager in TWRP?
Hey all, just to update, I tried the solution offered in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696. I tried the single line of code for the "terminal command" option. The first time it did not work. I saw in a thread on androidcentral that someone suggested running that line, followed by another line but replacing "fota" with "misc" I tried this and I am back in business.
In short:
From the TWRP terminal command type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit Go
type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
then hit Go and reboot.
I just saw that UrbanMuppet replied confirming that both fota and misc should be done
Worst thing that happened to me is that i cant even turn on my phone and an error 43 on my computer

Check my reply below your post. If using the non-ADB approach, you have to type the line twice, once with fota at the end and the once with misc. That guide only says to try the line once with fota at the end.
delete, had a typo in the script. please delete
All you have to do is wipe all, adb sideload a ROM and boom your golden.

That worked for me too. Thanks to all for your help. The second line with "misc" at the end made the difference from the earlier instructions. Now I am going to figure out how to turn off automatic OTA updates. Lesson LEARNED!
Can I please have the camera.apk for G3?
If you long press the notification and click app info, there will be a box you can uncheck that says show notifications. After you uncheck that, no more ota notifications!

[Q] Whoops...messed up and need to restore ROM...

Hi there -
I recently bought a D851 LG G3 from someone who told me they had rooted and unlocked it using PurpleDrake, but otherwise had left it as stock. I like the phone quite well overall, but the oversharpening on text was really bugging me. I noticed that there's a thread with a fix for that (here) and figured I'd try it out.
First, I installed TWRP using the TWRP Manager app from the Play Store. Second, I rebooted into TWRP and installed the .zip file for the Sharpening Mod. All seemed to go okay -- I got to the part of the Mod asking me for sharpening level, and it finished successfully -- but when I rebooted the phone, it's stuck in a loop where it shows the LG logo for a few seconds, then reboots. Being the bonehead that I am, I forgot to backup the existing ROM before I did this.
So that leaves me with two questions:
1. How do I get the phone functional again? I was happy enough with the previous ROM and am not necessarily looking for a custom ROM, but if there's one that's very stable and that people recommend, I'm open to that. I'm hoping to get Lollipop on the phone once LG releases it, so I'd like to avoid doing anything that will interfere with that.
2. Did I do something wrong when trying to install the Sharpening Mod? I'd really like to get that issue fixed...without screwing up the phone in the process.
Thanks!
Uh oh... Flame on?

Why's that? I did some searching before posting this request -- hadn't seen a way to restore without losing root. If that's the only option, then fine, but I was hoping to see if there's a way to avoid having to re-root it. And I think the question of what ROM to use (Stock or if there's a Custom one that's stable and popular) so I can update to Lollipop when it comes out isn't unreasonable.
Also, even if I do have to go back to Stock and re-root, I was asking if I did something wrong in applying the Sharpening Mod -- so I can fix that issue properly next time. Again, my search didn't show any obvious answer to that question.

He said that because you posted in the android development section not the QA section cause clearly this is a question. Just ask a mod to move it before you get flamed

Yes, I can get into TWRP recovery. Rather than invoke further ire, is it better to do this via PMs?

Try just reflashing a kernel if u have one on either ur phone or SD card. If u don't, download one onto ur PC (skydragon kernel would be my suggestion), boot into recovery, mount ur phone as MTP device, copy kernel to SD card and then flash kernel.

Thanks, that worked just fine...did exactly as you advised (Skydragon kernel and all). Then re-installed the Sharpening Mod fix and it all seems to have worked this time. Appreciate the help (and the education about not posting to the wrong sub-forum!).
