[Q] One V Key ring alternative, ACCEPT DECLINE dead

I have a problem with One V. The 'Ring Key' which has to be slid upwards to unlock the phone is not functioning smoothly. It takes multiple efforts to unlock, which means when a phone call comes, by the time I fiddle and unlock the call is dead.
Another problem, the Red DECLINE and Green ACCEPT buttons to decline/accept phone calls are dead.
I was till now unlocking the phone by pulling the ring upward and activating/answering the call. Now it has become difficult to answer a call.
The phone is out of warranty. Is there any software solution I can look for? I tried WidgetLocker but it does not allow you to answer a call by unlocking.

Actually, I have MyOneV RC9.5 FX+ rom and that same problem happens to me quite often (several times per day). Phone starts ringing and when I try to slide unlock ring or either green or red phone symbol, touch doesn't seem to register anything. Only thing that works is switching the screen off with power button and switching it back on. And the phone works like nothing happened.

Yes, screen has one long crack that splits it in two pieces. However, until I installed that custom rom ~3 months ago i haven't had any problems with digitizer. My screen has been cracked for almost a year now and that would be the only problem with it.

When you get a call, instead of grabbing the ring and pulling it to the phone, try grabbing the phone (green or red) and pulling it to the ring... not sure if that'll work, but then you don't have to unlock Then answer, it just answers

Nope, whole screen is dead to the touch and so is the volume rocker. Only responsive key is the shut down key. I turn of the screen and turn it back on and everything works like nothing happened. One more thing, when i listen to music, and try to change song on the lock screen widget by pressing on screen buttons, they react like i have missed them and lock ring shakes. However if i press some 5 mm above them they react like they should, almost as if the screen isn't calibrated. that didn't happen on stock rom. And yeah during calls whole screen is dead to the touch, I tried pressing above those green and red phone symbol, but lock ring doesn't shake and that would mean it doesn't register a touch. Minor things really but they can be annoying

When you don't even bother to read at least the first page of the ROM thread, it is best for you to restore to a stock ROM or try other ROM... you'll save the headache.

No headaches man, I wouldn't be using it for 3 months if i wasn't satisfied with it and satisfied I am. I did read on the latest update (from march 2013) that RC9.5 FX+ has all the previous fixes included (for example my Bluetooth works fine) so i didn't bother reading on. Anyway, my fault.

Touchscreen has no obvious damage, but the stock Android buttons stopped working a while back (I have an app which replaces) and this might be connected with the above issue.

Soft Key Illunination Question

I have a Rogers stock rom Note 2. I have searched for an answer to this for hours and can not find one. When phone boots, soft buttons light up and then go out after swiping to unlock phone. Fine so far. I can go to setting/display/touch key light duration/always on, and lights will stay on. I can choose the other timed options and they work too. Problem is, when on any screen and I touch screen anywhere, soft key lights should illuminate, they do not! I can touch the back or menu softkeys and they will illuminate, but that is useless. I have watched many utube videos on note 2, and when soft key lights are not illuminated and touch screen is touched anywhere, they light up for duration programmed. Why will this not work on mine?
That could be a number of things bud. Rom, kernel, an app, etc..
But yes it's suppose to work the way you said, you touch the screen the lights come on!!
All I can suggest is that if you can recall what you did last??. And what made them stop working , if they were working in the first place??!!
You could always start fresh, do a complete wipe of the phone. Start over and set everything back up. Might fix your issue your having!!

My Rogers note doesn't do this either..
I don't think the Canadian ones do
Well I think that really sucks. Wonder if custom rom would make work right. Makes no sence for them to work that way. Was about to take in for repair.

[Q] Back/Return capacitive button not responding.

Hey guys, just wanna ask what should i do with this issue. I've had my phone for about 3.5 months now and I just started having this issue this morning. I haven't dropped my phone in any kind of way (no water damage or anything). When i woke up this morning i was trying to to tap it, but it just wont work. I rebooted my phone to TWRP and the back button is working just fine. I thought there was just something wrong with the rom i was using (wicked v5.1, its awesome btw) so i wiped my phone and re flashed it, but it didn't fixed it, I tried flashing a different rom but the results were still the same. Then i thought that its probably because of my screen protector (iloome Tampered screen protector) but then again,I've had the screen protector on for a very long time already, and i never had an issue pressing the menu and back button.
For clarification, which is not working?
You mentioned you tapped the screen and nothing happened.
Is the screen not responsive to touch?
You mentioned that the back button works in recovery.
You also mentioned you never had issues with back and menu buttons.
What is not working, and is the issue intermittent?
hello, thanks for the rep.

Im talking about the capacitive back button, and when i mentioned that it works in TWRP, im specifically talking about the capacitive button, not the on screen buttons like on nexus devices. And it also seems to work sometimes if i pressed on it hard enough while its connected to my charger.

Hmm....
So the back capacitive button is working intermittently.
Sounds like a possible hardware issue.
I know you don't want to, but to rule out the protector, one would have to remove it, but that canbe sa last resort.
If all else fails to resolve issues, and you have insurance, you'd have torremove it anyway. Even if under Samsung warranty and no insurance.
- you can try the setting that's used for gloved hands which increases screen touch sensitivity. I forget it's exact location, but easy to find out.
- you can check if this is a known issue, etc.
- try wiping cache and dalvik cache in Recovery again

Brightness stopped working and black screen after wake up.

Hello.
Suddenly my phone decided to stop activating the screen after I press the power button to wake it up, but the soft keys light up and screen is working even though I am unable of seeing anything.
Also the brightness function not working as well.
Any idea how to fix it or should I send it back to LG?
PS. My phone is not rooted and running factory 4.1.2

working screen but you cant see anything
brightness function not working on a dead / black screen?
No.
Let's take things from the start. Assuming that the phone is off when I open it the screen is fully functional. As soon as it goes into standby mode or by pressing the power button or after 30 sec or 1 min according to users settings the screen won't start again when you press the power button to wake it up.
As for the brightness setting is not working at all either I choose automatic mode or manually. I can only access the settings when I power on the phone when it is off.
I hope now it is crystal clear.

should have waited or my reply... we are not in same timezone. anyway its seems bsod a simple wipe or even kdz flash would confirm any hardware issue.
Thanks for the reply I will let you know as soon as I take it back....

Touchscreen not responding!

My phone is stuck at homescreen (pattern lock) and it only responds to the double tap knock screen on. I tried to draw pattern, tap on emergency call, camera on lock screen and nothing gets registered on touch, except for knock screen on taps when screen gets timeout. The double tap is recognized easily anywhere on the screen. I pulled out battery several times and restarted but same issue. I have also refreshed my stock firmware via LGUP Tool but didn't help.
Basically, my touch is only responding to the knock on tap. Nothing else. I turned camera on via volume down button but touch doesn't work there too. What could be the issue? If the double tap is being registered anywhere on the screen easily why is not registering my touch after screen on!?. Please help!

Since no ones answering.
Not a solution or fix.
But have u dropped it. Or anything like that. Had screen replaced.
Seen it happen on the note 5s. Sometimes the flex cable for the lcd can become partially dislodged. Enough for touch not to work. One users only was responding to only 2 touches u till flex was pressed back in. Try usin lg flashtool. Method. Set to board dl and itll take u to the minios where it does a touch screen calibration
Again prob not case. But ive seen it happen
Possibly digitizer failure. But knockon working is weird

Can you please explain the "Set to board dl and itll take u to the minios where it does a touch screen calibration " in a noob friendly way, there are a lot of lg flash tools I see. Also, no, I haven't dropped the phone or any water damage. It just stopped responding suddenly. Knock is responding smoothly anywhere on the screen. I have flashed the rom to stock, same issue.

I use the same lg flashtool as lg g2 and 3. Older version. On main menu of flashtool u have a few options upgrade. And board dl. If u leave it. It takes u to the old factory reset status 2. And stays there if u set to board dl its gives fac status 3 and boots what is called mini os. First thing u have to do is touch the screen for a calibration test. Its required before mini os finishes booting. Then reboot as normal. Its kinda hard to explain. Its how i reflash stock firmware back from the g2.
Its always worked so ive never upgraded method across 3 phones.
U might look in restoring stock lg g2 flashtool. And replace with g4 .tot and .dll
Also have to set in device manager set to port 41. When in dl mode
