Usb Host with Android 4.0 on our Bravo

Hey guys,
I've been asking myself whether I am able to use my HTC Desire (which is running Android 4.0) as USB Host Mod (e.g. with an extra-powered external harddrive)? I don't have the right cable yet, but might it be possible? (On FroYo/Gingerbread you needed those special kernels... but there are no ICS compatible as far as i have seen, so is it possible without them?)
Anyone has tried yet?
Thanks in advance.
I'm not sure who has tried on bravo, but its possible

I'm also interested in this.. I think that USB host should be even easier in ICS than in GB as it has native support..

[Q] fixed installation? otg+charging

Hi there,
I was just wondering what would be the best solution to use my new nexus 7 2013 in my car(fixed in-dash installation)?
I'm not experienced with rooting and fiddeling with android tablets, so a basic guide would be awesome(although from the look of guides, rooting should be fairly simple).
Anyway, as I've come to understand I will need a kernel that allows me to run usb host mode(otg?) and be able to charge simultaneously. I've heard of timur's kernel, but it seems that only works on 4.2.x and the 2012 edition.
Anyone know what i can do and use?
All help will be greatly appriciated.

Works on both JellyBean and KitKat. It is enabled in the kernel by default on official CM ROMs.
For flashdrives and low power devices, it works great. If you want to run an external harddrive though, you need to get a powered hub because I don't think the port can output 500mA or above.
