Before changing to a new base you should also wipe internal SD. CM, for example, uses a different directory tree. Before a major rom flash I always flash super-wipe in order to get rid of leftovers from previous rom.

in my storage i have storage>emulated>0 and then my storage and files

Again, the rom you flashed uses a different directory tree, so now you have the files that the rom uses in storage/emulated/0/ and in the base directory all the files that the previous rom used.
If you want to get rid of useless files and keep everything clean and tidy you should flash the super-wipe file before flashing a new rom.

i did the super wipe but the emulated and 0 its there again.....i need to delete them

You cannot delete them as long as you use the rom that you currently have, because that is the path that the rom uses. If you want to get rid of it you must use a rom that doesn´t use that directory structure (stock Samsung rom for example), flashing super wipe before.

did the DN3(Ditto Note 3) ROM use those files?

No.
CM uses it, for sure.
Anyway, it is not a problem to use a rom with that directory structure, it´s just different and you will get used to it.

thanks...an anter think i am looking for cwm v6.0.3.7 that i have it from an rom that i was tested and i want to instal it after an official rom...but i cant find it to download

Thanks
Sd card root has been has changed to /sdcard/0/ on 4.2
Thank you very much i founded. Now i have an other probleme. I was on RC6 and when i wanted to update to RC7, with the recovery (choose this from sd car), i see all my old folders when i was with an other rom and i see the RC5.zip...I can go in "0" folder and install RC7. But now, when i finish to install rc7, i install files managers and i go to the root of the memory but i can't see RC5.zip and i know this files isn't delete because if i go to recovery i see it in the root of storage.
I don't know if you can understand me because i'm french... LOL But i just want to say, with recovery, i see some files in the root of storage and whe i go in the storage with files managers or es explorer, i don't see this files...
Thanks
Well, yeah, if the mount point has moved; you can't see the folder above root.

While the poster above me provided that answer already. Just by the nature of your question I believe you should stop and wait. Do some more reading and then do more reading. Learn as much as you can. Know what your doing, why your doing it and understand it. You sound u sure and unexperienced. Please Mt advise to you is read the complete thread for that route.. Make sure your reading the Sprint Forums and know all there is to know before attempting anything.

Ok easy enough to flash from recovery. Another question is will I lose all my photos stored on internal SD card?

If you're going to AOSP from a Touchwiz ROM, you'll need to create a 0 folder in the root of your internal storage and move all of your files into it. AOSP 4.2+ treats the 0 folder as your root directory and will not see anything outside of it.

Incorrect you do not need to create anything it does it on its own when going from 4.1 to 4.2 it will move everything to the new O folder it creates.

There's been countless times where I've had to manually move all of my files, otherwise my internal storage is empty. For example, when I jump from ROM to ROM, I use ROM Toolbox Pro to backup/restore my apps. If I fail to move my files to a /0 folder prior to flashing an AOSP rom, ROM Toolbox Pro will not find any of my backups. And it's because none of my files move themselves to the /0 folder. And I'm on TWRP 2.5.0.0.

That's an issue with rom toolbox. Not recognizing where things are located when you flash 4.2 over 4.1. The rom flash will create the O folder and move everything. How would a third party app know where to find it?
Also every time you go back to 4.1 and return to 4.2 it creates a folder again there have been individuals with 10 or more O folders.

A Third Party Application will always search for the file it created because it created it. If the 0 folder directory is treated as the root, then it will still search for /App Manager. But I was just using ROM Toolbox Pro as an example. I've had flawless transitions from going to ROM to ROM by moving my files into a newly created 0 folder everytime I go from Touchwiz to AOSP and when I go back, I simply move everything back from 0 folder to root internal and delete the 0 folder. It's a bit tedious - but I'm used to it now.

[Q] How to clean wipe?

Hey guys wanted to know how can i clean wipe all the data folders on my phone except the new ROM file i want to flash
i have done normal formats and wipes but got so many dead/duplicated folders on it with the 0/0 and some other stuff
for exmple with root browser i got the SDCARD folder and then i got the STORAGE/SDCARD0 folder again
also got STORAGE/EMULATED/0/ and here ALSO all the files
and also on STORAGE/EMULATED/LEGACY
what am i missing guys?
The SDCARD folders are in fact only links to the real sdcard folder.
I think these links are needed because android used to have another folder structure and older apps wouldn't be able to accept the sdcard.
For a completely clean wipe you can select wipe internal data in TWRP. Maybe you can push the ROM you want to flash via ADB push. But I'm not sure about that.

Ok thanks bud, its just that i know that the /0/ folder is a shortcut to the real folder yet the other 2 i wrote down are old files that i had with other ROMS i have used back in the day

Extra Directories with CWM and CM11

Hello All!
I seem to have gotten a strange directory structure after going to CWM and CM
/storage/sdcard0/
and /storage/sdcard0/0
both have the same directories underneath. With /storage/sdcard0/0 being the directory that shows up when I move stuff onto the phone and /storage/sdcard0/ being the directory that holds the CWM backups.
Is this normal? And if not is there anyway to wipe it to be normal? Even when i'm trying to install a new rom I have to use , use last directory .zip install of the normal download folder (the default one goes to /storage/sdcard0/)

I had an error like this yesterday while flashing stock rom using LGPNST and going to CM 11.
If going between CM Roms and Stock roms, keep both. Copy root to "0" folder. Easiest way
After you flash your rom, make sure you factory reset, thats what did it for me. I was using TWRP though.
Thanks for the help. I eventually figured out it was partially due to what you mentioned + clockworkmod. changing to TWRP and flashing CM11 made it all go back to normal

I've had this problem when copy files in TWRP and then I can't delete them in Android even from terminal... Back to TWRP file manager and deleted them...
Probably not the same problem as yours but I thought I will mention it...
Didn't realy bothered to figure it out but must be permissions/ownership related...

i reinstall Stock, everything works fine and i think there's some folders (or files / hidden files) in the internal memory (made by Stock when boot up) , they assume the permission to read and write every file :-?
before that, I had to clean up the internal memory in which important files erased
solved....
now i can delete/copy all folders and files i want
