it is definitely there from what i can tell. It's named update.zip, it was modified today, and it is 614MB
maybe it wont let me grab it because the phone is on? should i power off and grab it via usb cable? currently trying to modify it via Root File Manager App.

Is it giving you any kind of error? Since it's Write only, you'll probably have to change the permissions to be able to copy it from the cache folder. You should be able to do it with Root File Manager. I know I can with Root Explorer.

well root file manager says it was read/write for the owner so i changed the permissions to read/write for all users. then i attempted to rename it to 1update.zip.....and then the file disappeared.

run Triangle away and enable tracking and reboot (if you are already turn off tracking > reboot > turn on tracking > reboot ~ status should be normal now).

i created a 0byte file named update.zip in the cache folder and rebooted, and now it is telling me it is ok to install. (my battle level is below 50% so it wont let me). so i cured the modified error. but the actual download is still MIA. says device status is normal. it was probably kicking that error because it couldnt find the update.zip since i somehow renamed it and it decided to play Where's Waldo.

Running CleanGB, getting prompts to update to FC09..I don't want to

How do I get these prompts to go away and not update. I'm fine with CleanGB and have had very few issues with it. Thanks so much...casey
Wait!?!?!!
To be clear, you are getting an OTA promt to install FC09?
yes, it says "MR7 Update EL30 to FC09" restart and install. Someone just posted the same thing in the developers form but I don't have enough to posts to post in that forum it seems.

Just got mine. You can install it, and it will fail, and you'll pop your battery and reboot. That should clear it for some time. Otherwise, you can edit your build.prop to remove EL30 and replace it with FC09 anywhere you see it.
And you can use the search function or Google. Same procedure as the EL30 update except change to FC09 in build.prop.

I started getting them, too, on CleanGB today.
CleanGB EL30 OTA UPDATE TO FC09 notice removal
So first time posting but i got the OTA update to stop. I used ES file explorer & text edit on my mac for the buid.prop edit.
1) In the directory /system/etc/security/otacerts.zip rename to otacerts.zip.bak
2) In the directory /system/build.prop copy this to your SD card
3) save an original copy for safety
4) open and edit the build.prop file and replace all build number indications (ie EL30) to FC09, only replace the build number there are 5 locations.
5)Copy the new edited build.prop file back into the directory /system
6)I had to run the update, it will fail, then pulled the battery when the caution droid pops up rebooted into CWM 5.2.7 then rebooted the phone.
so far no more notification update message

Post OTA permissions issue

Es file Explorer no longer can edit or copy to system (yes root explorer is on) . I can change file names through TWRP but not copy files to system. I'm missing my custom boot animations and sounds. How can I mount (if that's the proper term) the system area of this device ?
I know when the Nexus 6 first released the kernel going from permissive to enforcing caused issues I guess. We can get around some of those things by using an app called SELinux Mode Changer. Maybe it will work in this case if it's the same issue? I have not messed with my wife's Note 4 much so I have no clue if it will do anything. I do see he makes a disclaimer about it not working on Samsung devices though the reviews make it seem some Samsung devices do work with it...

While in ES File manager, click root explorer. Then after it has SU permissions click and hold the button to get a menu to pop up and you can select r/w and specifically set /system to r/w.

Update to Nougat

The update.zip worked for me, but I didn't use the SD card method, so I can't verify this works right now. Give this method a shot and tell me if it works.
IF YOU ARE ON PH1, rename this S7Nupdate.zip to update.zip and follow the quoted instructions.
IF YOU ARE ON PI3, rename this PI3_PK4update.zip to update.zip and follow the quoted instructions.
UPDATE: S7update2.zip Rename this to update.zip and follow the same procedure AFTER YOU HAVE UPDATED TO THE FIRST BETA(PK4).

A method has been found to install the beta without being accepted!
Thanks @jrkruse for finding this method!
1. reboot to download mode (power + volume up +home) and make sure phone says Official under system and binary.
2. If it does not then you must odin the PH1 firmware, use the pit file and the full csc not the home csc file
3. go through setup
4. enable developer options
5. turn OEM unlock off
6. enable USB debugging
7. place Update.zip on Ext sd card in folder named fota
8. power off phone
9. reboot to download mode make sure both system and binary are official.
10. reboot to recovery (Power + volume down + home)
11. choose apply Update.zip from SD card
12. find Update.zip in the fota folder you created on your Ext sdcard
13. click yes to apply
After this it should update to the Android 7.0 beta and hopefully will be able to download future beta OTAs.
You will not lose anything as this is an OTA
You do not want to be rooted. You must be stock for this to work!
There is no gear VR available on the beta.
Troubleshooting:
"E: footer is wrong" followed by "E: signature verification failed" : Decrypt SD Card and try again.

where do I find the official? Doesn't say anything under download mode or settings. Downloading zip now. Thanks so much.
found it under settings/about phone/status on very bottom.
I'm at 91% complete by using update over ADB, since I didn't have an SD card available. Will report back.
Update: Working great!
I downloaded the update, changed the name to update.zip, downloaded minimal ADb and fastboot, put the phone in download mode, selected 'update over adb', and then used adb sideload update.zip....boom...success!
I'll tell you what...I have a new car with Android Auto, which I use to listen to Spotify, mostly. The audio quality is noticably and significantly better on the nougat update with performance mode enabled. It made my day!
Thanks for taking the time to grab the file, OP!

Thank You.
There is no folder /app_updates. There is just a folder named "files", but this folder is completely empty.
By the way: I got this file structure on my G4: \Android\data\org.lineageos.updater\files.
I had to manually download the package and install it manually in recovery, but the updater says still to update the current version.

If this is reduced to this single folder I can say that my G4 has no folder with this name.
The download completed and the updater asks for updating the unit.
The G4 restarts into recovery mode and nothing happens. Manual search for the downloaded files have not been successful.
I restarted my G4 and searched manually with root rights (just to be sure the files are not hidden in non root search) and I could not find any update file.
The lineage updater still shows to update the phone, even that there whether is a folder named "/data/org.lineageos.updater/app_updates"
nor a file in the "\data\org.lineageos.updater\files.
So... is this an issue with the updater, ROM or is this just not implemented complete?
I have no issues to manually install anything by console or TWRP or what ever else.
Once again: The update file(s) seem to be lost in transit. They are not stored on the system.
The updater still shows the install button even if there is nothing to install.

Are you sure you are looking in the right folder? Your stated path shows :
"\data\org.lineageos.updater"
Was that just a typo?
This where it is in my device:
"/data/data/org.lineageos.updater/app_updates" (note the nested "data" in "data")
Also, I think that if it shows "install" it means that it has been downloaded (and exist), otherwise it would show "download".

Shame on me... I searched with root rights and could not find the folder.... Seems I need new glasses.
But the folder is there and yes, the download is in there.
So single issue is, why the updater does not call the update automatically for flashing the update.

the guys in the G4 forum are mostly connected to the unofficial version. a complete manual installation is required.
But there are some rumors in the German forum, who are using the official LineAgeOS version, where the updater script is not working.
I´ll wait for the next update in a week... may be it´s just a minor issue which will be fixed soon.
is it possible to change that path?
The path *HAS* been changed.
It's now downloading OTA updates to /data/lineageos_updates
Which a pain in the ass, because TWRP already doesn't automatically handle the script as expected on my Note3, and, I'd already gotten used to having to go to /data/data/org.lineageos.updates.

Nougat Update Here S4CQB2-to-U4EQC6
MD5 checksum : 903aa5c5f26f430133481c4a2cfcdb69
Thanks for ABD instruction @ColoMtn
Make sure you know how to ADB sideload. I'm not responsible for any damage to your phone.
Steps:
1. Backup everything of importance on your phone!!!
2. Now, make sure you have "show file extension" enabled in Windows, and file is ready for ADB as you download SS-N920AUCS4CQB2-to-U4EQC6-UP.zip
3. Shutdown your phone
4. Enter recovery mode by pressing volume up, home and power button together
* A green Droid will appear on screen with the text Installing system update…
5. Using the Volume Button Navigate and the Power button to select ‘Apply Update from ADB’
6. Connect your phone via USB to your computer
7. Open a CMD prompt from your PC. Type cd
in my case: cd C:\Users\Norbarb\Desktop\Note5
8. Navigate to the directory that contains the update ‘SS-N920AUCS4CQB2-to-U4EQC6-UP.zip’
*Note I had issue when the directory contained a space. Moving the update to a directory with no spaces resolved the issue.
Also moved the adb driver to the same directory 'C:\Users\Norbarb\Desktop\Note5'
9. Type adb devices. You should see 1 device listed
10.Type adb sideload SS-N920AUCS4CQB2-to-U4EQC6-UP.zip
11. This took around 25 minutes to complete
12. Phone will now be updated Nougat
EDIT: Please post mirrors if you can. Thanks
For who may need it this is S4CQA1 to U4QC6 update. File is around 1.5 GB and MD5 is 23d4d4c58330b618001e76fc468732d9

On what firmware currently are you? This update is only from baseband N920AUCS4CQB2. Also you may have corrupted recovery. To fix this you have to ODIN back to latest firmware and try again.
Anyway just in case i'm uploading raw file w/o .zip extension to another place.
