(mod) jmt8multiwindow&smartstay - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

first got to give thanks to THEDEVIOUS1 as he brought multiwindow to the note. from there i used his files to port his work to our phones. as far as smart stay thats all me..
now this zip will be for the jmt8 only. one of my files had to be rewworked to be compatable with jmt8 so i dont recommend flashing it on other uvmc6 roms.

smart stay needs a good amount of light to work. our cams are just not as good in low light as some of the newer ones. also this can only be enabled via notification bar.
multiwindow was fully unlocked working with all apps but jedi rom broke it so im still working on that......

i may be mistaken but technically this should work on any version firmware as long as its 4.1.2 touchwiz based but to answer your real question there are 2 ways to enable more apps...the easiest of which would be to download the free version of "samsung multiwindow manager" from the play store (do NOT apply the patch when asked to do so...it will still work fine) or for those of u familiar with xposed there is a module called "Xposed Multi Window Apps Manager" which works as well. If u guys encounter any force closes with stock samsung apps then they MAY need to be replaced with copies from other multiwindow compatible devices...files from the original device (the N7000 in the case) SHOULD work

Flashed this on a stock 4.1.2 touchwiz. Doesn't seem to work properly, Can't get the apps to split. They just overtake each other and show full screen.

first...u MUST reboot every time u add an app to the list. Second...there are 2 different versions of the app on the play store. This will sound backwards but u want the older "note 10.1" version NOT the newer "phone" version. Third...the apps will NOT automatically appear in the flashbar so u will need to press the edit button located at the bottom of the flashbar and drag the newly added apps over to the list with the rest. The only reason the module wouldnt work is if u forgot to activate it in xposed by putting a check next to it....the reboot and edit rules above apply to the module as well

i did say my first release was ment for jmt8.....putting together a stock rom with thedevious1's work plus a few things i did myself. nothing major just a stock with multiwindow and a few apps added from s3,s4 note 2. fiqured since i pulled them myself i shouldnt need permissions..lol
anytime i tried to mod the flashbar i know longer could resize ANY apps the only way that has worked 100% for me is the exposed module then no matter what app i am using i can resize them all, wich will be included in my rom thanks to given permissions on his main page

More info on how to do these things, please
Directions:
All you need to do is change these two fields in your build.prop:
ro.product.model=SPH-D710
To:
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.brand=samsung
To:
ro.product.brand=google
Reboot.
And presto! Working camera

So the easiest way I've found to do this is by using an app by Jrummy call ROM Toolbox. It has a tool in the app called build.prop editor. In there you can just scroll down until you find those entries, then edit and save them. It will ask you if you would like to reboot, just wait til you make the last edit you need, then reboot. Simple. Before, I used to use root explorer to make those kinds of changes, but it's much simpler with ROM Toolbox. Besides, you can change fonts, boot animations, and other things with RomToolbox as well.
Alternatively, you would have to use a root file explorer, such as Root Explorer, to navigate to your /system/ folder and find build.prop. Then open the file so that you can edit it and make the changes. Save the changes. I don't know about other apps, but Root Explorer by SpeedSoftware will automatically save a backup of your build.prop file.
Just be careful that you know what you're changing in that build.prop file or you can really jack **** up.
I hope that helps you, I think some that have been screwing with our phones forever take what we know for granted sometimes lol
edit: and changes won't take effect until a reboot

Couple things
1 - I have updated OP with new version that does not require any edits
2 - You have to remember that you are working with a phone and a community of people that have asked the same questions before you. A simple google search will more than likely give you the answer to anything android related. I have no problem helping you just I sometimes may not get back fast enough. I just feel you should never rely on anyone else with all the info at your fingertips.
Just my thoughts man... Enjoy update in OP and here http://db.tt/J2P1fepj

[ROM] SimplicityBean v2 3/5/13

SimplicityBean v2
The goal of this ROM was to take the idea of "simple" and turn it into "advanced", then take that and cram it back into "simple"
Ladies and gentlemen, what you are about to witness is pure awesomeness
I'd first like to start off by giving the majority of the credit to KillJoy devs, as this ROM was theirs first but I took it and modified it(with their permission of course)
As of now this ROM is:
Everything Killjoy is
Build.prop tweaks
Even more battery conservent
Super buttery smooth
Slimmed down to the very bone
DeOdexed
Zip aligned (I think, added the feature over what was there already)
Insane 3g speeds while conserving the most battery possible
Wi-Fi speed mod
Wi-Fi connects almost instantly
Custom theme and icons- Currently KillJoy's, after my loss I didn't mod that, too much time and effort to do it again
Different (not better) memory management
Removed boot animation for boot times
4 in 1 boot option
Smart screen.-auto dims the screen for a period of time, lets say you are taking a picture and are getting a pose ready, the screen brightness will go down in intervals for the amount of time spent idle, but also will get brighter if it is light outside, long explanation, not very innovative but still cool
(my own mod, I am not sure if it works for sure, I flashed it separately, and just smushed it into the ROM itself. You guys need to tell me if it works)
To do/fix:
Fix 4g LTE, for some reason there is none
Optional ink effect- Done!
Maybe slow down a few things
Script for the CPU to sleep while inactive- Broken?
Possibly AOSP keyboard
Lock screen torch
Ac!d Sound MOD
LMT Launcher built in, for now separate install
COMING SOON:
ReVamped edition: completely new ROM from the ground up, more features(this will not be a simple version, this is for those who like finding M&M's in the couch cushions
In ReVamped you will find:
Anything and everything you can think of, while not being bloated with Donkey Kong and your history teachers contact list
Requests are always, ALWAYS taken into consideration, most of the time are used unless I have a problem.
Screens(more to come):

Juice Defender was inactive during that, I only started it up because I was at school and didn't want it to die
Thanks to Killjoy developers I can do this!! Wouldn't be here without them.

Will put it in. Guys I am deeply sorry for not uploading like promised. Long story short my RAM disk failed which had my ROM on it, so I had to redo it.
I basically made the majority of the ROM myself, I did keep the Frankenstein framework due to sheer laziness. Expect the ROM up at 12AM or earlier EST.
Taking last minute requests before upload. I start the upload in one hour.

I will ask them if I can use their mods, also with ac!d.
Upload is 60%, I will update at least once a week (I promise if I don't keep my word I will let you hit me), and with next update the theme will be mainly white, and some dark blue and black.
Also, the battery(next weeks update) I don't know how to make it an option for text or not, so should I make it perma text or blank for elegance?
2 days of battery life wowzers. Really liking what i'm seeing. I'll give it a go when you get it uploaded.

Lastly, this application package uses virtually NONE of the system space for the installation. If you have any of these apps preinstalled, I recommend you uninstall first.

Yeah, the E4GT can get about 7 days of standby time with absolutely no data connection and minimal screen time, enough to check the battery % and turn the screen back off.

The dropbox account for all the links is down because of too much traffic, one of my first lessons in development lol... Don't use dropbox for things that will get a lot of traffic. They shut your public links down for three days.
I recommended DevHost and AFH to the OP since nobody else had.

Thanks you!
This is no longer an S4 apps thread.
OP has been updated, thread renamed and update posted.
The entire apps package has quite a bit installed and is nearly 600 mb in size. The files are uploading now and I will post an update when it is ready. Cheers - TD
Note: This package does not use ANY system or preload partition space. In fact, I gained back nearly 20 mb from the system partition after install.

Not fully an app but maybe edit the Google play music app to add Gapless playback functionality?? It's been broken since January lol. Maybe you can bring it back to life?? But as an original app, probably something to do with bringing some of the s4 functionality like air view or something?

Not sure how I feel about fixing what is broke ha. But on the airview side of things I believe it would come down to hardware limitations.

I'll tell you what I've been wanting... on the app Wi-Fi tether for root users, at the bottom of the screen it gives your current upload and download speeds and data sent. I want this as a widget! Just a simple widget that tells current download speeds and amount of data transferred. I can't find any thing like it on the market.

Making a widget could be cool, I like the idea. So basically 3g/4g down/up speeds and total WiFi sent back and forth from tethered devices? Wonder if I could just pull that apps resources.. But then it would be app specific vs just monitoring services. What are most people using? Treve mod tether or what?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
That's what I was using till I got my GS3, then I couldn't get it to work so I use the built in hotspot on MOAR Rom. That's why I want a speed widget.... When I'm stressing video I can look at it and see the overall data speed in real time so I can tell if I've got adv good video server or of I need to switch.

Would it be possible to make an app, using xposed maybe, that would allow you to use tw widgets on a non tw launcher? Just an idea.
Edit: Or how about an app that let's a person update profile and prl on aosp like in tw?
Edit 2: Maybe an app that will allow you to multi-boot or dual-boot different ROMs on the fly...

I dunno. Maybe a framework app that can change the message bubbles in the stop text app? I don't know if that is possible but I know there is an xposed module that let's you change the toggles color so it may be possible. Or maybe an xposed module that let's you change the framework color (like in settings, text app, etc) from Samsung blue to another color? Like this is what I am talking about:

Lots of mentions about the xposed module. What if I could make a companion app that would toggle a whole bunch of options and customizations? It could be the holy grail of cross ROM modding for the gs3 if we do it right. I found some good info on adding modules. I'll have a better idea in a few days when I get to play with some code.

How about an app that tells google to stop with the silly updates already? I don't need an updated playstore every week.
Enough with the updates Google!
I got a great idea, what if you create an xposed module or an app that installs the hangouts emojis on the system framework so we can see them anywhere instead of the native black and white emojis.

THIS POST IS FOR KNOWLEDGE and TECH STUFF that I WANT to SHARE WITH EVERYONE
I have to give a huge THANKS to @manufan721 for letting me be part of his journey to making this rom as awesome as it is!!!!!! :cyclops:
Also I would like to say THANKS to @twisteddan for making my sig pic and avatar that I'm using on XDA. Friggin awesome pix huh?
Can't forget about giving THANKS to @ptmr3 for his awesome kernel that is in this rom.
Please go and give him thanks yourself here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2111228
I know the kernel in the link is an older version but it's cool he deserves more thanks than any of us could give.
I would like to share a dialer hack that @billb23ok turned me on to a while ago when he was trying to get his I317 to connect to all t-mobiles modem frequencies (4g and LTE). Check it out, the link is here where I explain everything: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47934927&postcount=7609
Keep in mind that the video's I link to are my experiences ONLY and may not work the same for everyone because of the fact that we all have different cpu/gpu chips. Meaning the manufacturer had to make hundreds of thousands of these and they all have they're slight differences. Example: under-clocking to 100 mhz frequency and an under-volt of -50 mv are definitely acceptable for my cpu chip, but MAY NOT be acceptable for some people.
Next I would like to share some TRICKSTER MOD settings I uploaded to you tube a little while ago, it MAY help you achieve better battery life and/or performance.
This is the link for the first video with battery savings settings using trickster mod here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZytzoOyDIE
This is the link for the first video with battery savings settings using trickster mod here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5US5iOOSlT0
I hope those video's are useful!!!
If you decide that multi-window is just not cutting it with only being able to have 2 windows open at a time that aren't re-sizable then you should check out my support thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2403763
If you decide you want to make more use of your screen size than samsung would like you to then visit this post I made after extensive testing to find (in my opinion) the best settings for making the most out of your screen size here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45722669&postcount=234

XDA RULES
DON'T BE SCARED OF THE THANKS BUTTON
By the way, if you want to hit the THANKS button more than the allowed limit enforced by XDA ( 8 times to be exact ) then download the XDA app, click on the post you want to give THANKS to and a little window pops up on the page with options and the thanks button is one of them. Let me warn you ahead of time that the XDA app is far from perfect. Example: I just gave thanks to someone from the app and it actually gave the thanks the person 2 post's up from the one I wanted it to. So fair warning about that, but at least you can give unlimited thanks per day lol.

Careful your phone bite you. Lol. Download and install it's a great rom. It's based off the md1. 4.3 isn't official for the t889 yet. When it is I'm sure this will be updated shortly after.
Any data drops? All 4.3 ROMS I have tried thus far have data drops when on a call or when screen turns off.
