VOIA LG G Pad 8.3 Premium Standing Case - Black with Pic - G Pad 8.3 Accessories

Everyone,
Just want to share my newly just bought case for my LG G Pad 8.3 Black bought from Amazon for $39.99.
Overall design, it's a very slim profile case, nice feel to it, fit perfectly to the tablet. The smart on/off feature work perfectly, you have to enable Smart Cover in Accessories setting in order for it to work. As far as standing, it work as in the picture, but not a big fan of it, look like it's working fine on carpet, but I haven't try to stand it on a smooth surface yet. But I bought this case not for it standing feature, but it slim profile, and nicely looking with a "for LG G Pad" logo.
One thing doesn't like, when you close the cover, the flap does not have magnetic, so it's easily open not grabbing it on the right side... and not completely in plane to the tablet. But I still do like this cover a lot, it's a little bit costly, but it's does make your LG G Pad look pretty good.
Here is the link to the picture

Cám ơn for posting those pictures. That case DOES look really slick, even if the stand doesn't seem to work well. I'd like to see/hear from you how it works on a smooth surface.

I had a case like this on my Nexus 7 (2012) and the one thing I really do not like about them is that the cover does not stay closed as you mentioned. In my case I droped my Nexus the cover opened up Nexus fell screen down and shattered $200 in the trash. Since that happened to me I refuse to buy a case that does not have a Mechanical clasp on the cover of some sort. I'm actually thinking of moving to a pouch instead of a case.

Yeah, I had one like that on my Nexus 7 3G (2012). Chipped the edge metal part I was lucky that it didn't break the screen. I right away bought a cover that has an elastic strap that holds the cover closed.

I'm wondering if I could get a thin magnet & just stick it in the case? I like the feedback on the case

Bascially, yes.

Nice pics, thanks. But basically ;
- This case is labelled as premium and doesn't have magnets !
- This case is labelled as standing but it's not able to do it on all surfaces !!

I got this case with my G Pad as gift and I must say - this is very good one.
It could work as smart cover with no problem. But I need some tries before I found out how it works in stand position

Hey guys, here's a quick fix for the floppy / insecure cover on this case. I actually had this clip laying around from my old Kindle. It was sold/used to prevent the back cover from lifting from the kindle due to stress on the powered case connector. Bought it directly off Amazon way back but not sure it's available anymore. Below is the link to the direct website, but question if they are still making this due this being for the 2010 kindle model. In any case figured I'd post to give you guys some ideas. I actually find it works quite well as the clip easy slides off and I simply put in my pocket while I use the pad. Additionally it stays put and doesn't slide off. I shaked the pad a few time and it wouldn't move. Again figured I give you guys who bought this case some ideas.

this case looks ok but to be honest i never get cases for my gadgets..i just dont like bulking them up. I prefer getting screen protectors as they're cheaper. You can pick a screen protector for your LG pad 8.3 for around $19 from GEARMAXX on ebay. I took a couple of pics of mine:

Would a screen protector provide any protection if you dropped the tablet or else dropped something on top of it? I think a case provides more protection in those situations.

I just got this case a few minutes ago at work. It's very nice. I like the look and feel, and it maintains the 8.3's lean form factor. I like it!

One drawback I noticed - this case messes up sound. Tablet itself has good sound quality, but with case it's "metallic", sometimes distorted.
It looks like case resonates.
Quick solution for it - put some paddnig around speakers and problem dissapears.

What's the application method? Wet or dry? I've already killed one screen with a wet-application protector, so I'm a little gun-shy right now.

This is a dry method. I picked these up as well. They were ok. I had some adhesion issues on the edges. I just replaced it today with the Evecase version. There is a 4 pack available on Amazon for $9 shipped.

I put on the Anti-glare version and like it much better. I had the Clear from GearMaxx. Showed too many fingerprints. So far the Anti-glare is working out great.

Good to know - I mainly get screen protectors for reducing fingerprints (I have oily fingers, so without a protector, my screen looks like garbage after a few hours of use), so the GearMaxx one wouldn't work for me. I'll give The Evecase ones a shot.

No. The part that holds the tablet is hard plastic. The cover is a textured plastic on the outside with a soft lining.

Atrix TPU Case Received, pics inside

Hey everyone, I received my TPU case from EBay (item 290530353216) today, here are some comments and pics. The fit is only OK - the cutout for the USB/HDMI ports is a little off, and there is a little bit of an edge around the power button that impedes fingerprint swipability a little. I will say too that I didn't expect it to have the goofy pattern - what is it with TPU cases and argyle patterns?? Also, as you've noticed it is somewhat translucent.
I give it a 3/5. $7 shipped in the US. I'll keep it until another inexpensive case rolls around that is higher quality.
And just in case anyone wonders, on my screen are the Pandora Widget, Android Agenda Widget, and some apps. I am running ADW Launcher (free). Also, I know I left my back panel sticker on there, and that was on purpose.

Yeah seriously with the frikin argyle ****! Its like they made a billion sheets of the argyle TPU and they just like heat mold them to phones (not like thats how they're made). This will be my third phone encased in argyle TPU. Other two were the dark one like yours, this time I got sick of trying to hide the argyle and people asking about the stupid pattern. I got clear so, "yes its frikin argyle! got a problem!?"
Waiting for the Realook screen protectors to be cut. no idea why it takes them so long to cut the right size. Realooks are by far the best screens...
Everything is temporary at this point...I'll buy nicer stuff once my 30 days are up.
I was fortunate enough to have a solid black non-patterned TPU case for my EVO that someone on this forum actually commissioned and was selling out of their garage essentially.
Check out tpu-cases.com. I bought an all black one there, shipped same day. Quality is nice, it's glossy, feels good in the hand for an 8$ case.
the 1.99 one I got from ebay is decent
Nice, never seen that site before. I'll order one up and hopefully it'll get here by the time I'm home from travel. Wish someone would make one like I had for my Evo though - it was matte on the back and shiny on the front.

Well I tried the Speck (or whatever it's called) case from AT&T and hated it...looked and felt like a toy.
Then I tried the Otterbox Impact (the smallest case they make). It's made of a type of rubber that sucks up all dust and won't let it go. It's pure black rubber but after putting it in my pocket and driving up to Starbucks to meet some friends...it looked gray. My pockets don't have any lint or anything in them...and yet the case now looks completely gray. I just put it on yesterday. It's also a bit big for my tastes...and the phone can easily come out of the bottom.
I'm going to try the cheapest cases on eBay. They always worked great for my Nexus 1 and most other phones I've used. The cheap thin rubber is fantastic for me. The phone's so freaking sexy...I just don't want to add a bunch of mass to it.

i like the feather as well. not much in terms of impact protection, but most of my scratches come from the phone vibrating on the desk over time and scuffing the battery door, so its a nice line of defense against that. also, its a little less slippery than the standard battery door which i like

Yeah its great for worrying less about the normal wear and tear.
I particular like the argyle tpu cases which give decent protection and feel. i have it for the ipad, galaxy tab, atrix, inspire, and xoom.
www.degasis.net offers these as well
I ordered my case from http://www.degasis.net/models/atrix.html (as the poster above recommended. $6.98 shipped
This is the best fitting TPU case I've had across all my devices. The best part is that it actually makes the on/off button easier to push and the finger scanner easier to operate (its cut at the perfect angle to compliment it). Its slightly different cut but a better fit than the pictures posted above.
I'll post pictures when I come across another camera some time today or tomorrow.
TPU is far superior to any other case material in my book. perfect balance of grip/non-stick, thinness, protection, and fit.

That's the problem I have with the feather - it doesn't protect either end of the device, only the sides and back.
Judging by the picture, it looks like you have that "textured" screen protector. What is the screen protector you are using? Those are my favorite kinds and I have been trying to find one for a while! thanks in advance
Kbc, who are you asking? I'm using an AT&T screen protector. It's matte and perfectly smooth.

I've had this phone since release day at best buy and bought the rocket fish soft-touch plastic two piece case. Since then I have bought and used JKase DIABLO Series Tough Rugged Dual Layer Case and a generic carbon fiber look hard plastic 2 piece case. I really like the jkase a lot. the kick stand gives great stability(much better than evo 4g) but could be more durable, mine has a crack in it and ive heard of it breaking. Though it doesn't bulge out as far or cover as much of the front as the rocketfish one did. Simply because it's just a slip on rather than snap.
rating best or worst. in my opinion
Best.) JKase - pros- kickstand. rugged look. dual layer. Cons - kickstand could be more durable but is limited to keep case thin. Some audio and usb cables are not small enough to fit the cut outs for the ports.
Good.) Rocket Fish from Best Buy - Pros - Great protection (I have dropped on concrete twice, one at 4 feet and one at 3 feet. just some light scuffing on case no damage to phone at all. I haven't dropped the phone in any of the other cases so can't give rating on those) slick. feels good. Cons - Was the most expensive of the three. Shows finger prints and oils easily.
Okay.) Generic Carbon Fiber Hard Case from amazon - Pros - Price(spent less than $2). Two piece snap on. Cons - becomes very slippery with hand sweat. More of a checkered look then carbon fiber.
Also one note for all cases. the jkase is the only one that protects the buttons, can be hard to press sometimes. The others have open cut outs for the buttons and ports.
CruzerLite Androidified cases are the best. Light-weight, snug fit, do added bulk, and comes in many different colors. It's only $12.90 (also have buy 2 get 1 free).

Theres a thread about this case already:

Seems like the people over there aren't to fond of it
Anyways if you want a minimalist cover try this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Ventev-colorclick-Optimus-LS970-Sprint/dp/B00A274OY4/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t
Ive been using it since day one and it looks nice, keeps the camera lens from touching any surface its placed on
Its not "complete coverage" of the phone but I do take good care of my phone and haven't dropped it at all *knocks on wood*
Plus it sits well with my Zagg too (which is a plus for me :good: )
Just got an Xtremeguard Skin (screen protector and rear glass protector) and I got it flawlessly on my first attempt at a wet install. Really simple. Bubbles and haze went away in a few hours while I was at work. Feels tacky but not too tacky (after you break it in a little). Doesn't effect screen quality at all. wanna know the best part? I got it for $3.98 from XtremeGuard on eBay.
I have one question though, I want to buy a carbon fiber skin but I don't want my protector installation to be in vane so...can I apply the skin over the protector that's already there?

Diztronic Matte Black TPU case Review and Picture

So I just got he Diztronic Case for my new Nexus 5 today and here's my thoughts on it. I've been a Diztronic case user for sometime now; had it on previous devices such as my S3. One thing I love about Diztronic is that they are more substance than flash when it comes to their cases.
Packaging:
One thing you will notice when you get the packaging is that, well there isn't much to say as its in a plastic wrap, with a cardboard cutout placeholder for your phone. They spent the money were it needs to go; on the case itself.

Build Quality/Design
As expected from Diztronic, the case is a built top notch using a soft but firm flexible TPU material. It has a two tone appearance where the edge/frame is a shiny glossy black (along with the Diztronic logo on the back) where the rest of the case is a soft grippy matte black on the back and sides. A thing to point out is the nice feel the matte finish has. It almost feels like the Nexus 5 back without a case. It just feels good. One thing I like is that Diztronic did not plaster their name all over the case like some case manufacturers do. Just one simply logo at the back near the bottom.
The cutouts are all in the perfect location and aligned right. The cutouts for all ports/mics/speakers are spot on. One thing I would like to point out is the cutout for the headphone jack. It's bigger than other cases I've seen and I like that. It allows for headphone plugs off varying sizes to be used with our phone. Many times a plug will be too big to be used with certain cases and the phone would have to removed from the case to use said plug. The cutout is a large nice square cutout. So thumbs up to Diztronic for that. Also, the microusb port cutout is large also, allowing for oem and aftermarket micro usb plugs to be used. Which is really like as I have plugs and charges of all sorts of sizes around the house, bag and car.
One thing that did differ from the S3 Diztronic case is that there is no cutouts for the buttons; volume and power. I'm sure a lot of us went the super cheap route before and got a tpu case off of ebay with no cutouts and it was just plain misery trying to press the buttons. That was one of the big pluses for me on the S3 case and was doubtful and wary about no cutouts on the Nexus 5 case. Yet, Diztronic has pulled through and made pressing the buttons easy and nice even without the cutouts. The fake buttons on the case to mimic the buttons on the phone are very nicely designed and implemented. They actually look and feel like real buttons and not just some bump on the case like the cheaper tpu cases.
Another thing I liked is that the edges are raised to protect the phone if you place it face down on the table. So no scratching the screen when doing so.
Also, unlike the slim cases from Spigen and Ringke (other cases I considered) is that it has decent protection all the way around the phone. The slim cases protect the sides but not so much the top and bottom. Sure its a little bulkier and thicker but my mind is a little more at ease with the added protection.
Got the same case on my N5 as well. Had one on my EVO 4G LTE as well. Decent case all around. Nice review.

Yeah one of the better cases I've used on any device. Great customer support too, anytime I had an issue they always were quick and courteous.
Thanks for the review. My phone slipped out of my hand today and I was able to catch it with my foot before it fell the rest of the approx. 6 inches to a tile floor. The back cover popped open a little bit, but it was otherwise unscathed. I took that as my first and only warning from the phone Gods to put a case on it so I just bought one of these based on your review.

yeah I always recommend a case. I don't like otter boxes or tank sized cases but I do like a medium between super slim and otterbox. I'm sure you'll like the case!
How much of the screen does the edge/lip of the case cover? Any use this with a screen protector?
Covers very little of the screen. I am using with with the spigen ultra crystal with no problems. I think it's a much more functional case than the official bumper.

The skinomi screen protector I got has 1mm margin to the edge of the screen so any case lip that covers more than 1mm will start to push on the protector.
Would you say the it covers 1mm or less of the screen?
Yes, I think that's accurate

Would you say the it covers 1mm or less of the screen?

I'm curious as well about the case pushing against the screen protector. I would like to know if the case causes the screen protector to lift away from the screen. This is a problem I have with the spigen.
Thanks
Amazon has the black with prime shipping, I'll make sure to post my thoughts

Looks like you lucked out and got the second revision, seems like a lottery at Amazon right now but good to see they started shipping them. Nice big photos and thanks for taking the time. I personally decided to pass on Diz this time due to the QC issues and covered up buttons.
FYI there's a thread a few pages long dedicated to the progression of this case including other pics and reviews: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2490294 :good:
After using a spigen neo hybrid for a few days I've gone back to the diztronic, fits like a glove. And almost feels like there's no case.

Is it hard to take off? I've read that some people actually damaged the exterior back and edges by taking off their cases...
No its not hard to take off... I don't go side to side... I go from bottom to top. So insert the bottom of the phone first then the top. Yeah i was worried about the revisions but Diztronic emailed me that all new cases should be the revised version

Sucks that from Italy apparently there is no way to get my hands on one since no euro amazon sells it and they directly also dont mail it to Italy or other european countries....

Cheap Flip cover!

First impressions are positive! It fits the Moto G perfectly and like the official flip shell the back cover is MUCH thicker than stock. It has a nice "grippy" (is that a word?) feel across the back and a soft almost velvet interior against the screen. The flap seems tough enough but doesn't stay completely shut on it's own. There is a small magnet built into the front flap that will turn the screen on but you have to wait 5 seconds with the flap against the screen before it will work. I haven't been able to get it to turn the screen off yet... If anyone else who ordered one has any better luck please share!
The only things that screams "cheap" is the font on the exterior. On the front flap it says "MOTOROLA G" and there is the "M" on the back. The way it is printed looks out of place.
Over all I'm very happy with the $3.25 purchase. I wasn't expecting much and this meets my needs for now. I would like to have an official version but that's $30 I can't currently spend. I will try and keep this thread updated to how long it last. I'm concerned for the hinge of the front flap but time will tell.
UPDATE
I have used the case for about 4 days and it is holding up well. The front cover is starting to close on its own but the magnet isn't strong enough to keep it closed. So far the front flap is holding up well and the velvet like material doesn't gather lint from my pocket. All of the buttons and opening are easy to access. I tried to show it in a pic below but it didn't turn out to well. Trust me though it feels like you have a "stock" shell. I have made calls and closed the cover without issue I could hear and they could hear me. (I wasn't surprised but figured I would mention it) I have finally taken photos but my camera sucks so sorry about the quality... I'm planning on putting a design on the front to cover the text and I'll add a photo of that when finished.

Original Post:
I found this on ebay and couldn't stop myself from ordering. The official version is 29.99 and this one is 3.25 figured worth a shot. Not sure if this has the magnet built into the cover though which is a major selling point for the official version. I sent a message to the seller but haven't heard back yet. I will update this post with some photos and a review once I get it! It's coming from Hong Kong so it will be about 1-2 weeks...
SMALL UPDATE:
They finally responded and said there isn't a magnet in the front cover. There is a bit of language barrier so I'm hoping he thought I meant one that wraps around, time will tell. No updates on shipping Estimated arrival time is late next week.
I have owned this case for just over a month and the strap has started coming apart. Magnet has already been lost too... I hope this case gets here soon!
What...I just ordered some no name chinese brand with a magnet (But doesn't wake/off) a few weeks ago. I wish this would've been available when I ordered mine since mine's more like a hard back case instead of a battery door replacement type flip cover.
Sigh.
I would love to see photos to those who order this though.
No shipping to Italy :/

Yeah keep us updated. These battery door replacement covers are pretty popular and I would love to see one.

I found some magnetic stickers on amazon for $3.25, maybe you could put one of these on the flip shell and have it work like the official one.

Has someone already bought this flip case? It looks great, but I'm not sure if it's just a cover to put over the original back cover or remplace it totally like the Motorola Flip Shell.
Sorry i haven't read the update of the first post... :silly:
Where are the fonts "Motorola G" placed? I can't see it in the pics.
Should be possible painting it with a spray paint to cover those fonts?

The pics they have don't show any text on the case. As I mentioned in my update I'm planning on putting a design over the front cover. Don't think I'll do spray paint but a sharpie marker would do the trick. I'll share my results.
Wait, so there is a magnet on the front of the case? And it sort of does work?

As odd as that sounds, yes. I run C-Rom and it works to turn the screen on (sometimes). I tried running CM11 but the screen won't turn on or off and I did try xposed framework.
I ordered the Nillkin flip case. Will report on it when it arrives.

Having a big ol' hole in the cover just seems to defeat the whole purpose of having a flip cover IMHO...
i've found this one in a brazilian shop
http://loja.novidi.com.br/loja/produto-11-12308-capa_flip_cover_i_e_para_motorola_moto_g_cor_preta
anyone knows how we can found it on ebay.. amazom.. aliexpress.. etc... ?
Mine came in. I have also used the official shell (My mom got one)
For $3.25, I'm happy, but the official Moto shell this ain't. There are NO magnets in the cover; the case flops around when closed and the screen will only turn on if I leave Gravity Screen running. The printing (MOTOROLA G on front and the M on the back) looks like it was printed on a dot matrix printer.
If you want to get a cheap case, or try a flip shell, this is fine. But you'll probably still want the official case.
Awesome! Just need to wait a little more for cheap grip shell!

I agree completely on the dot matrix that is a much better description. I didn't think there were magnets but I couldn't explain the screen on sometimes. Didn't know about the Gravity Screen but makes sense. I do like this one for only $3.25 but I still REALLY want one of the officials.
What color of this and the official do you have?

The cover arrived quite quickly from China (10 days after ordering).
First impression is that it doesn't give me a premium feel like the Nillkin hardcase cover does. Also this case is a bit thicker and it doesn't have tiny dots on the back to increase the grip feel.
The flipcover with its automatic function is working properly, which means that it wakes the phone when opening and puts it to sleep when closing. There is also a screen built into the flipcover, but it serves no fuction at all. When the cover gets closed, the screen is dark. When you receive a call, the screen doesn't lit on. When receiving a call and opening the cover, it doesn't answer automatically either.
I will stick to the hardcase from Nillkin and this one goes to my gf.

flip case with auto wake?

Anyone found a flip case with auto wake feature for the oneplus 7 pro?
Too bad OnePlus does not provide this cover with launch ?
Not seen the OnePlus version anywhere although there are some flip cases around in both Amazon and eBay.. I'm also waiting for the OnePlus case though..

These look nice if a little on the expensive side.. I'd have sprung for one if there was some protection top and bottom. Still might.

In order to a do auto-wake the phone itself has to have a sensor for that magnet. The Galaxy phones have that, for example, but I didn't think the 7 pro has one. I'd love to be corrected if it does.

There are apps that will utilize the proximity sensor on your phone and turn the screen on when opening the case. I used the below app on my S8+ with my Otterbox Strada, it worked without any issues.

Ordered this on ebay:

It looks similar to my OP6 flip case ordered directly from OnePlus that has auto wake/sleep.

So I have 3 flip cases currently, ordered the 4th (the one that looks like the OEM flip case) that's going to be here next week.

You can see them all in the attached jpg.
They each have their pros and cons, none of them are ideal (the Otterbox Strada is my ideal case, a tank that's lasted my old S7e the past 3 years) and NONE ARE SMART COVERS.
The far left in navy is the one on my device right now. Like the form, the color, and corner protection. The drawback is that I question how screen protector friendly it is, as the sides actually curl in PAST the factory-applied protector film. Don't know if the case will will fit with a TGSP installed. My guess is it won't, which is why I'm using it now.
The middle one has the most coverage along the sides, but it's thin compared to the case I just discussed. From my experience with its 6T counterpart, it's relatively durable so it will likely be my go-to when I apply a TGSP. Don't like the form (full-length spine where it folds, front cover is not merged into the back case) as much as the other two.
The one on the right is the Nillkin, a brand I've used since... my Nexus 6? Love the form factor, hate the durability. Expect the case to last for about 3 months before it's starts cracking, chipping, tearing. This one lasted 3 minutes -- one corner cracked when i put the phone in. WTF.

I'd be willing to pay Otterbox more money for a OP 7 Pro Strada case. Such a great case.
Brilliant review reaper000 thanks very much.
Dammit OnePlus get on with the official flip case.
I'm waiting for the Nillkin to be delivered. Oh no! Bad luck with that. Take your advice on the durability.
I actually prefer the full spine so that middle one might suit me. Prefer the complete cover on all sides too. My OP3 somehow got scuffed top and bottom in the official case. I don't seem to need the padding. Never considered the black but that looks ok.
Oh that damn kick stand fold.. Dino why do many cases have that. Hate it. Would try and glue the thing down.
Thanks again. [emoji106][emoji106]

This one says it's smart wake/sleep:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Official-F...5T-6T-7/153444097176?var=&hash=item23b9fb1c98
Just received the Nilkin flip case in black.
Pleasantly surprised by the quality. Soft cloth inner. Hard plastic full protection holster for the phone. Accurate cut outs. Hard nylon backed combined fake leather back and cover that folds quite flat and out of the way.
Doesn't sleep or wake, although the proximity sensor does already deal with that so not an issue for me. No magnet at all to help the case stay closed.. this is a smart minimalist cover that sacrifices ruggedness.
9/10 from me
