[GUIDE] How to install Miui v5 3.11.22 on Galaxy s4 T-Mobile successfully - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

I am gonna show you how to install Miui v5 on your T-Mobile S4, I have seen other people posting tuts but they were not to clear on how to install so here is how i installed it on my T-Mobile Galaxy S4. And i did compare the Hardware between international S4 and T-Mobile S4 and they have the exact hardware so i was thinking hmm why wouldnt Miui V4 not work on a T-Mobile S4?
Settings will show the international model number because its originally made for that model of the s4. If you see my screenshots it shows it but that is my T-Mobile S4
Firstly i reccemend you to install Philz Recovery so you have no problems with it booting or other related issues. (Best recovery to install miui with i never had any problems but you can use whatever one you want but i highly reccemend this one)
I am not responsible if you create a paper weight (bricked) ,Dead SD card , Phone explodes, Phone grows legs and takes over the world or anything like that. You are installing this with your own risk. My phone was previously on the stock 4.2.2 so i wasnt on 4.3 with knox so im not sure if you will or will not have problems with a T-Mobile S4 with a different baseband but im sure it will still work even coming from a different base S4.
Credits for the ROM goes to this developer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=569047

Your welcome ! im glad it all worked

Thanks very much. Worked Great. Coming from a Verizon S3 I was missing MiUi.
The Key here is to use Philz recovery. I tried with CWM and I kept getting errors about cyanogenmod account crashing. (was running CM 10.2)

Please, can someone help me resolve the status 7 error on my T-mobile i9500? It is currently running CM 10.2 with Philz version 6.00.8. I have tried opening and deleting the go prop commands and still no dice. I have wiped completely over and over and no success at all. Any ideas? I reeeealy miss this rom.

Great, everything is perfect, but lte.. I don't have the arrow of fast.T-Mobile.com so I created it, No LTE, went to*#*#4636#*#* switch but doesn't get 4g and it doesn't stick when rebot...

Not sure what you're trying to say here. Your issue may be that the APN needs to be in all lowercase ie: fast.t-mobile.com
to recap/clarify
Go to settings>All settings>Mobile Networks>Access point names
Under APNs click the arrow on T-Mobile US
Change the APN from epc.tmobile.com to fast.t-mobile.com or fast.tmobile.com. (If one doesn't work, try the other)
Next go to your dialer and type *#*#4636#*#*
Tap phone information.
Under Preferred Network type hit the drop down menu and tap LTE only.
Once you see the data icon like 3G or H change to 4g you change it to LTE /GSM Auto(PRL)

Here's how i did it with philz, this may help.
boot recovery,
wipe data/factory reset > select install new rom (this will clear system and cache and data)
wipe dalvik
install rom,
install gapps
wipe cache and dalvik again just for the hell of it.

I did it that way, The thing is that the fast.t-mobile.com apn its not there so I created it and it sticks but no lte when I go to phone and dial *#*#4636#*#* its in gsm so I put it on lte wait for signal but theres no signal. So I reboot and no lte

No it's not. But you can't currently get a newer version of MiUi for the S4.
So yes this is the latest for this model phone but not the latest release of the Original Rom from MiUi

not too sure but most of the questions you might have can be answered here: http://en.miui.com/

I missed miui! But is the ROM linked here the most stable? Cause there are newer versions for the i9505 but don't mention anything about stability for that matter.. So not too sure.

I have flashed MIUI to my device m919 and so far no problems. Been functional for the last three weeks and really like the interface. I havent yet come across any problems.
Note: I did try flashing the miui rom for i9505 but never worked. Tried all sorts of variations but still couldn't get it to work. In a nutshell, don't try to waste your time, but if you decide to and get it to work , please let me know..

[Q] [TELUS] SGH-I317M and flashing ROMs

Hi,
I'm fairly educated in rooting and flashing custom ROM (First Galaxy S, HTC HD7, Galaxy Nexus), but I've been hit by a little problem with my Galaxy Note II.
I have the Canadian model SGH-I317M on Telus (Quebec, Canada). This model is quite special, and we can't just flash N7100 ROMs directly on it as you guys may already know.
This is why I'm posting on AT&T's forum (SGH-I317).
Yesterday I flashed one of the available ROMs (NOTEorious prime), and everything worked and ran smoothly as expected, except one thing: Data connection. I wrote down my APNs and made sure at least 10 times they were OK. I also reverted to default, re-entered them and rebooted several times. No chance.
I guess it has to be something related to AT&T's kernel included with the ROM, but since SGH-I317M is such a shady model I'm struggling for information. I did my search on the forums and saw nothing clear and precise on what to do exactly.
For now I restored my backup to stock rooted ROM. Unfortunately I was out of time and didn't try an other ROM. But as soon as I'm out of the office I'll download an other one. Still, NOTEorious was very appealing and I would like to make it work.
So here I am, asking you if you encountered the problem. If not, I am willing to dive into the problem with experienced users if necessary. I have never done advanced stuff beyond rooting and flashing my devices, but I'm a software analyst. I can learn.
Oh and, please bear with my English skills, it's not my native language !
Thank you
How did you confirmed that LTE is not working?
With some ROMs (i use Jedi X on rogers) you won't see the LTE icon but 4G instead in the status bar, and the normal 4G is H+
test with speedtest.net just to be sure that you really have a problem.

I disconnected Wireless and tried to search google using chrome. No data connection.
I should have specified that i simply have no data :S Sorry
EDIT: Changed in the main post
i've had this problem on previous phones where data wouldn't connect when flashing a rom... it was as simple as the modem not being compatible with my network.
Try pulling and flashing a telus modem with your new rom and see if that helps.

Thanks for the tip ! Never had to do this before.
It doesn't seem to be any telus modem, but a guy pointed out that using Rogers' work. I will try it out and update as soon as I can.
I have the telus model too and was encountering the same data problems until.....
Flashed Clean Rom 3.3. I highly recommend it. When flashing it it asks you what carrier and you can select Telus. I didn't have to change any carrier settings and lte worked and even had the icon. It is a super fast and stable rom too.
Select the perseus kernel in the flashing options as well.

Try a different ROM like Jedi. It retains your modem on the 317m. and in the case something gets changed, you can also flash the modems as a .zip on the same thread.
The key to flashing att rom to our Canadian devices is having patch designated to our carriers. I always flash Rogers modem with ril and csc patch and never had any data problems and yeah most of roms I flashed to my phone are att roms.

Im still having data and voice problems, actually I just put the sim and it have a little bit of ATT signal and then it goes off with a circle in the bar icon, I already do a lot of things like change modems, rom, kernels, unlock change imei, I order a new sim connector wich comes with sd card reader I believe this is the problem in other case if doesn't work I guess is a hardware like radio or modem failure wich will be a mess because I spend already 350 dollars for the Note2. Just waiting for the sim flexible to come and test if it works. Any other suggestions I will be all ears. Thanks guys!
I'm guessing you have a recovery then if your flashing modems. What recovery are you using. Did you make a backup of the stock rom. If your using teamwin did you make a fill backup with the modem and efs from your stock backup. And if you restore back to the start dose that fix your problem. Sorry just need some info to help you out

i have a question, going overseas soon(china). does flashing the tmobile s4 with the I9505 international Rom affect the radio frequency of the phone? does it change it to the same radio specs as the I9505? or it will remain on the original tmobile S4's band?
thanks

To answer your question, No, flashing the I9505 ROM to your M919 will Not change your current M,919 radio installed on your T-Mobile M919. If it did, there would be many people hard bricking their S4 's
With the above being said, Always check to make sure the ROM your installing doesn't have a radio cooked into it. In most All cases they don't, but it doesn't hurt tottake a few seconds to check the thread.
Usually the only ROMs that include a radio is when you ODIN back to the stock firmware.
Thanks, in china right now on the tmo ,whicked rom. Everything is working . Will flash alpha rom on my last day here, dont want to mess with it right now,

Alpha 7.3 just dropped.
Don't use Superwipe in Aroma though.
A Full Wipe in Recovery and a Full Wipe in Aroma should be fine.
Since you're in China, you may want to hold off changing ROMs until you're back, but your call.
Remember that Alpha is i9505 based and doesn't have calling over WiFi.
Enjoy your trip

Well, after no help I found my answer. If anyone else comes across this I had to flash to the leaked 4.3 build which reflashed it back to stock - then re-root reinstall CWM and then put the AOSP rom back - problem solved.
But now do you have the new bootlader with knox warranty bit or the old bootloader?

Well....no, that had nothing to do with it, but I've already answered the question. On hindsight I would say it was because ages ago I flashed a modem from the list in the modem thread. Again, I hope someone finds this whose having the same issue. Everything working fine now.
I had this problem on my 4.3 based ROM (Pac man). I found that in the hidden menu it was set to gsm only. just change it there. i also found this on beanstalk 4.4

My phone's issue is somehow related to this, specifically "unknown baseband" from JB 4.3.1 to KitKat 4.4 on GT-N7105.
The apps suggested didn't really help as from the start it says phone is on Airplane Mode. I read thoroughly from as many forums as I could, and I'm now concluding it's recovery related as both CWM and TWRP needs to be updated for KitKat. There are a few lucky folks that got working KitKat with CWM 6.0.4.1, but it's like a hit or miss situation after ROM flash.

How come you don't recommend wiping data?

I pack this ROM basically system driven . you should keep ur data cause you want to keep ur apps and settings. Its a dirty flash compatible ROM on ur old data but not ur system.

Hi there... This ROM can be use on both of the subjected carrier without any problem.
Sorry I still don't understand. There is no kitkat 4.4.2 bootloader released for Canada yet so which bootloader do we install and from where?
I'm on telus as well still on the n900w8vlubmi5 baseband.

Damn it and I just flashed and set up Freeza's latest
Also can we change the kernel
I took the ota update to 5.0+...I cant just simply flash this right? I just want to make sure so I don't waste my time. I would really love to try this rom
yea, I too was on 5.1.1 and now running Freeza's latest but would love to give this a run. Wasn't sure if I could just wipe and flash.

I like MIUI ROMS I tried it out not bad, it's just i don't like that you can't use other kernels and also it's kit kat
test this now you can just wipe and flash even if you are on 5.1.1.. the rom starts on right away in Chinese so you will have to change the language also data wasnt turned on after flash i had to turn it on tho i cant figure out how to get LTE i havent tested much yet but ill report back once ive test it more
Screens?
Ill post a few SS shortly
Edit:
Here are some screenshots
I cant download from this link doesnt move from 0% is there another one?

just have to hang out it took like 10 mins to get off of 0% for me and i ended up switching from wifi to LTE and it downloaded faster.. i would still recommend downloading it first on a computer..

Are you chinese? I could not find out where to change language that was frustrating.
I don't know why but I don't service . Any fix? This rom is smooth and fast other than that

ooo it looks so clean! it's been years since I've tried miui (galaxy s1)
I do have the downgradeable bootloader and running 5.1.1 but I really don't think I can bring myself to go back to kitkat... I look forward to any possible lolly releases in the future. great work!
edit: I do have a question... has the download booster been enabled? the Sprint variant (910p) has not yet received a working mod although other Sprint devices have been successfully been patched to make it work (s4, s5, maybe 6 too?)

No you don't have to downgrade the bootloader.
I haven't spent a lot of time messing with the rom. I haven't seen a download booster yet.
Still not able to get lte. And 3g is just unusable .
