[Q] QPair - Unable to pair - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
yesterday I reverted my tablet to stock in order to find out if QPair works. But when i try to pair it with my Nexus4 (4.2.2) I only get the message that I should update my QPair app on the phone. Did it work for anybody?
Version on the phone is 4.1.31
on the tablet it is 4.1.23

I have the same versión as yours but I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S4. The first time I tried to use QPair it didn't work so I rebooted my phone and Tablet and it went ok.

I got an update to 4.1.31 on my tablet and after that it worked without any problems

I couldn't get it to work at all, until I realized that my text message phone app (Textra) was not supported by the GPad. Once i disabled Textra the devices paired right away, and Qpair now seems to be working. Too bad, because i liked the way Textra dealt with group messages to my kids, so that we could each easily see who got the texts, and each one could easily see all the replies and who they went to.

[Q] Fitbit Flex, BT4 & Custom Roms

Hi,
I've been running jelly bam lately because of the PA features (specifically per app DPI), but I recently purchased a Fitbit Flex and couldn't get it to work. I contacted their support and they just told me they don't support custom roms.. so I tried to restore my stock ATT/Samsung rom which is just version 4.1.1. The Fitbit Flex software installs and actually has the refresh button now but my phone doesn't seem to see my Flex when bluetooth is on. I think I need an update before I will be able to use the stock rom and I'm not sure how to do the updates with TWRP installed, I tried but it keeps rebooting into recovery. Anyway, I'd prefer not using the stock rom, specifically I would prefer a custom rom with PA features. I've just tried PAC-Man 4.3 nightly from last night (pac_t0lte-nightly-20130823.zip), and while my phone's bluetooth does see the device now, the Fitbit app doesn't give me the options like it did with my stock rom. Has anyone gotten the bluetooth and their Fitbit Flex to work with a custom rom with PA features?
Thanks!
If I recall, on a S3 and using a Fitbit One, you won't see the Fitbit except inside the app. There is a "devices" section in the app which lets you check the sync box. If you don't see that then the phone isn't seeing the Fitbit. Stock rom on the S3 works fine. Any custom rom will show you stats pulled from the web but not allow you to sync from the phone. I believe their app is the problem and not necessarily the phone or rom. Anyway, I've learned to live without syncing from the phone since stock firmware just isn't for me.

This is all exactly the same on my Note 2, but even my stock doesn't rom work. Like I said, possibly due to the old version 4.1.1. Under the stock rom the app shows all the additional options like you mention, but my phone's bluetooth never sees the Flex. I wonder what the Fitbit app uses to determine whether to show the additional options or not. I included screenshots to my "about device". I noticed that my model number was different with the new rom and thought maybe that might have something to do with it because clearly it's not (or not just) the android version.
Have you tried a stock 4.1.2 build ??

Can someone link a stock rom for me? I have the GPe of the GS4. i9505G, and I have AT&T. Started out with SGH-i337
Fitbit Sync
I got FitBit to Sync finally with my custom rom.
I used the Build Prop Editor from JRummy. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.apps.build.prop.editor
change the ro.product.model=GT-I9505G
and ro.product.manufacturer=samsung
and save those settings, reboot, and now Fitbit will try to sync now. YAY! :victory:

I followed those tips and got it working on my Galaxy S3 AT&T running Carbon ROM...
but now the Dilbert app is telling me that my device is not supported... which is weird because it's just an app to view the daily comic strip.

Just one thing to try, my FitBit wouldn't initially synchronise with any of my devices (all custom ROM)...but I then tried removing the gel cover and plastic rear battery cover of the phone (an S3), held it very close to the FitBit and it then sync'ed fine!
It seems that this new low-power Bluetooth protocol is a little too low on the power element
Note 2 & Fitbit/Bluetooth Problems
I came here looking for answers/help with my bluetooth... but so far I haven't really been able to find anything that's actually helpful. I can share with everything what I've been able to find out, though.
I have a Galaxy Note 2 running stock on Android 4.4.2 and I have the Fitbit Flex. I used to sync without any problems but after my phone updated to 4.4.2 it no longer syncs. After researching for a few days... it seems the problem is with the Update itself... it reduces power or range of Bluetooth... that's why the Flex cannot sync to it. However, I have discovered an quick fix to that:
When syncing, just place your phone on top of your Flex band and it will sync up without any problems. This has become my temporary solution. Someone else suggest another quick fix would be to turn on Mobile Hotspot on your phone... that is suppose to increase the Bluetooth Power.
I also learned that Samsung won't update the Note 2 to 4.4.4, which would have fixed this problem.. but instead will Update the Note 2 to Lollipop... but that date is still unannounced.
If anyone has any ideas on how to really fix this problem... I'm all ears. The only solution I found was to open up the phone and do something to the bluetooth chip inside... but I forgot where I found that solution.

[Q] Help setting up QPair with phone

I just received my G-Pad LGE (loving it so far). Unfortunately, after updating q-pair on the tablet and installing qpair on my Verizon Galaxy Note 2, I am receiving the (expected) "Internet via Phone is not available due to carrier or device compatibility" error. My question is this --- is there a rom I can install on my note that will allow internet via phone to work? Ideally I'd like to stay with as close to a stock rom as possible, (stability and no broken features are most important to me). I understand I might need to flash an AOSP rom, and if that is the case, can someone who has a note 2 recommend a stable rom that will work with all the qpair features?
Not sure if this would be better suited on the Note 2 forum, I will move if needed.
Thanks,
lb

This is not a problem with the tablet, If you are looking for a rom for the phone you should try looking in the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 forum of XDA-Dev.

I get the same message with my note 3.
I am on Rogers in Canada though have Tmobile sim in at the moment. I can use wifi hotspot no problem on my phone, so I am not sure why I get the noncompatible message. Maybe it is a feature that works only on LG phones?
The previous user was thinking maybe there was a way to modify something on the tablet to allow a connection as such.
Same thing with Nexus 5
Internet via phone doesn't work with LG G Pro
I have the same issue as those trying QPair with Samsung phones. The difference is I'm trying to use QPair with my LG G Pad 8.3 with a stock rooted ROM and an LG Optimus G Pro with a stock rooted ROM. The G Pro phone has been hacked so that the built-in Wi-Fi hotspot feature works. I can turn it on manually on the phone and join the Wi-Fi network with the tablet. I was hoping that QPair would allow me to turn the phone hotspot on and off from the tablet. That would be a lot easier and save on the phone battery since I'd be more likely to turn the hotspot off when I don't need it.
Is there something in the carrier ROM (my phone is from AT&T) that is preventing QPair from using the phone internet?

What carrier and what ROM are you using?
onotoTm much
did u update the qpair on your lg tablet via the update center , that fixed my issue the first time i tried using the internet feature
Malladus (based on stock). I'm on O2 in the UK.
I did have issues with Qpair at first. If you removed any bloatware, you might not be able to install the updated version.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I can confirm that it appears to work with my GS3 on Verizon. I did get the error you describe at first, but I changed a tethering setting and then the internet would work via the qpair program.
I was able to make the error go away if I had Bluetooth tethering checking on the phone (settings, connections, more networks, tethering is how you get there on a TW 4.3 based phone).
The setup procedure I did (from memory) was to update the qpair program on the table via the update center not the play store, but install the app on the phone via the play store.
Good luck!
Kevin
I updated the QPair software on my tablet and enabled Bluetooth tethering on my phone and it still says its not supported on this phone due to a carrier policy or an incompatible device. I'm guessing this is because it's an AT&T phone and they have done something to block it.
I have not removed any bloatware from my tablet. I'm pretty sure the issue is the phone, not the tablet. I'll start a new thread in the LG Optimus G Pro forum.
Okay since i last used qpair i have installed at least one new rom on my phone... And it is no longer working... I do not use this feature much. I am not sure which change I did broke it.
Sent from my LG-V500 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you are using a custom Rom you might need to change the device name in the build.prop to lv510 and reboot and then download the version from the play store

I'm just guessing because I'm running Lollipop on my OnePlus One so I'm using the built in functionality (it's awesome), but make sure the Zenwatch Manager is approved as a device administrator. Settings, security, device administrators. If it already is you might try disabling and re-enabling it.
Having the same problem here. Went back into zenwatch manager (on phone) and there is no longer the option. It's like the feature went missing.
Nexus 5, 5.0.1
I figured that the built-in lollipop trusted devices would work better and have used only it. It seems to work fine with the zenwatch and other BT devices.
Mine stopped working too. We're you able to get it fixed?

Google now cards not shown, even after wipe

Hello,
I´ve a problem with my lovely smartwatch 3 - google now cards are not shown, even after a reset of the watch. I´m not sure but can the "problem" be the latest google app update on smartphone? I´ve done a wipe for 2 times but nothing changes. Google App is running version 5.11.27.19, latest one afaik.
Greetings,
SirRobin78
The same thing has happened to me as well since around 4 days ago.
I've tried re-installing the firmware via PC Companion, but that didn't help, so I tried pairing with another phone and it still doesn't work. I'm not sure where the problem is.
Did you try to reinstall the android wear app on your phone and enable notifications? That is all I can think of.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I've already tried that as well and no joy. :crying:
The strange thing is that I get some Google cards, such as traffic time to home, etc. but I'm not getting the weather and stock info that I used to get all the time. (The cards do appear on my phone without issues.)
I´ve been having this "problem" ever since my phone updated to android 6.... I´m starting to think it might have something to do with that...

I've tested the watch on two phones, one is a Samsung Galaxy S4 (SC-04E variant) running 5.0.1 and the other is a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact (SO-02G variant) running 5.0.2. so I don't think the problem is related to Android OS version.
Hopefully, the upcoming Android Wear firmware update will fix the issue.
N.B. Both phones are running stock firmware with no root.
My watch just showed me de card with stocks and weather.... But just as a regular notification card, no swiping left...

Note 3 USB / Android Auto fail.

Hey guys and gals,
I have tried multiple ROMs now, and am having the same problem with all of them. Whenever I connect my Note 3 to my car, I get a "This device does not support media function" error that I do not get with a stock ROM.
After a weeks worth of trial and error, the only thing I can come up with are USB incompatibility, or DRM? I have tried all the rom provided usb modes, with and without debugging enabled, still no luck. Anyone know a fix?
Using my wifes phone, I was able to confirm that the stock head unit works perfectly, so the issue is definitely with my phone/roms.
Currently running Phoresis v7 (which I love).
Here is a pic of said error

I returned my Note 3 to stock via Odin... It is just barely worth it...
I almost want to buy another phone to keep in the car and just network it to my hacked one...

I'm not exactly sure what my problem was but I updated my phone via ODIN since I was on a beta software, reinstalled the AA app, removed my car from the settings in the app (reinstalling didn't delete it) and also toggle the setting for AA on my car's headunit and then it finally worked
