[Q] Lumia 900 - Headset jack and bluetooth problem - Nokia Lumia 900

I am befuddled.
I got a refurbed L900 from ATT and it seems I must have inherited the previous owners problem.
When I plug in the headset with mic ( I am using an HTC set which has worked before in the previous L900 and my other Lumia 920), I get loud hissing/static sound upon connection. The caller can hear every fourth word or so. Music plays fine through it.
Secondly, when I connect a bluetooth device, a Jawbone or blue ant car unit and a call comes in, the phone shows bluetooth connected, but there is no audio i.e. cannot hear the caller nor can the caller hear me, through either one of the devices (I only connect one device at a time). I have to select speaker and then I can hear the caller. However, the bluetooth units can stream audio like music and driving directions. Again, the bluetooth units work with the Lumia 920 and iPhone 5.
OS version 7.10.8862.144
Any help appreciated.
Best regards,
Befuddled.

An enigma...

I have a Helmi Broadcaom BT stac on my Universal. A day ago I 've bought a BT stereo headphones type Siemens HHB-750. It has function both HF and Hi-FI stereo ouput. The enigma is that the headphones works gerat as a stereo wireess, but I cannot put it to work as HF. When a call comes or when I dail a number I can hear from headphones a gently noise, but voice is still heard form Universal's speaker. I 've tried with another BT HF and I've got the same result, eg. Universal can detect the device, can connect itself with it, but during a call it cannot switch sound form bulid-in speaker to a BT headset working as HF. What to do?
Hi there, have you verified that you BT headphones have all their functions enabled in their profile?
Open the comm manager, Bluetooth settings, look for your phones (with the phones on, update the available services if needed), tap on all the services they suppose to have.
Hope it helps.
Alas not... I've activated all the function of my BT hHeadset ie. high quality stereo output and HF. The first function works great, the second one is still dead :-(((

Ringtone only in headset, driving me nuts!

in my tp2 i noticed that when i have a wired or bluethooth headset conected and someone calls me it only rings in the headphones! this made me lose several phone calls.
in other devices i had , i used a reg hack for it to ring in the device speaker and headphone,so i tried in my tp2 but it does not work as the reg hack is related to the microsoft bluethooth stack.
therefore i m asking for help and also if other tp2 users can confirm this issue.
my bt heaset is a jabra bt3030.
thanks
I am having the same problem with my TP2, the headset becomes useless for this reason.
I use a Sennheiser MM-200 headset, bought this headset not to have earphones plugged in ears all time but only when i have incoming call.
Not sure what to tell you about the wired headset, but is your BT using the normal headset BT profile or is it connecting also with A2DP/Stero BT? That could be part of the problem.
In the Bluetooth menu it is connected with: "Stereo Audio" and "Hands-free"
you can switch off the stereo audio function and stay with the hans-free function only. it works fine, but you have to do it manually.

I made a soft reset and now the phone rings even with stereo audio enabled - whats good for me, but i do not understand why
Hi Faria,
There is a setting in the BT config to transfer "ALL" system sounds to the connected audio device, this may be your issue. I don't use a wired but my Rhodium rings in the headset and on the device after removing this option.
Cheers,
Beasty
I really hate this feature too. I am used to listening to music on my BT hedset. So when I get home I would just take them off, put the phone on my desk and go about my business. But if I don't disconnect the headset now I won't notice it ringing... which can lose in lost phone calls.
Hopefully someone will find a workaround.
Start>Settings>Connections>Bluetooth
First tab (gears)>Advanced>Audio
"Play system sounds on remote hands-free device" = uncheck
Just tested and works for me.
I get the normal ringtone from the phone and the regular "beep" from the stereo headset.
FYI, this is basically the same information as listed two posts up...
On my old phone if my headset was in and my phone rang it would say call from and state the persons name through my headset. The ringer itself wouldn't play through my headset nor the phone. And now I can't remember but I know it beeps in my ear but I think the phone plays the actual ringer also at the same time. But if I checkmark what you guys are unchecking will the actual ringer play through my plantronics bt headset and not on the phone.. I kind of would like that for if I am out and dont' want my phone to ring all loud I would rather the ringer play in my ear and was wondering if that's what happens when I check that. Mine was unchecked when I got the phone.. I don't havea bt headset I use for music just talking mostly when driving..

[Q] Bluetooth Handsfree problem

I have Samsung HM1000 bluetooth handsfree. When i pair it with Wildfire S (A510e), during incoming call, I only get feeble beeps (which very difficult to hear in noisy as well as even in normal condition). Where as when i pair the handsfree with Nokia handset, I can even get a MP3 ringtone in the earpiece.
What could be the problem ? Any solution ?
HTC customer care asked me to soft reset & try again. But no luck.
Wildfire S has bluetooth 3.0 where as handsfree is bluetooth 2.1 +EDR.
HTC customer care says it should support.
This is not uncommon. Ringtones over bluetooth are not part of the bluetooth specifications, so while a phone may be compatible/supported, this feature is not guaranteed to work (Nokia has the best bluetooth stack on the market).
Thanks Lee,
Is there any way to increase the vol of BEEPS. Right now its very feeble. I think i'll not be able to listen to it in crowded area or in the car if music is on in the car's music system.
If your carkit has a volume setting, that would be the way to increase them. I myself have the same situation, except my beeps are extremely loud, so it scares the hell out of me everytime my phone rings
It's not a car kit. I am using a Handsfree being mounted on the ear. U can see this model on Samsung website. Though there are vol buttons, they didn't help in increasing the beeps volume. They can increase / decrease conversation volume.
Any suggestions ?
Can HTC release a patch to resolve the issue ?
I have been searching for this myself as well; the feature is officially called "in-band ringtone". I can't find anything that's android related though.
If you plan to get a new one, may i suggest a blueant device..ive been using one for over 2 years now and used it on motorola, nokia, samsung, htc and it worked flawless ..
dun wry...am not selling em . i just love my blueant st3
I am talking about hands-free to be fixed on the ear (something like Blueant Q2). ST3 appears to be a speakerphone larger in size. Again, in one of the review, it is mentioned to bluetooth ver 2.0.
In the, mean time i once again contacted HTC customer care.
Now they say it should be ver 3.0....A2DP.....Stereo etc.etc.
I don't understand how there can't be backward compatibility ?
How many Bluetooth 3.0 hands-free devices are available in the Indian market ?
Another test:
HM1000 (same model,Bluetooth 2.1 but another piece)connected with SAMSUNG Galaxy ACE (Bluetooth 2.1). Same results. (Only beeps during incoming call).
Any comments / justification from experts.
Hi! I have the same problem. Only faint beeps emitted by the bluetooth headset during incoming calls. (I tried it using samsung galaxy y and blackberry 8520)
What could be the problem? Please help.

[Q] Problems with Bluetooth Headset

I have paired my Plantronics Marque Bluetooth headset with my Galaxy Nexus GSM model. The headset is paired and connected. I can say "answer" to answer an incoming call, but I can't hear anything through the BT headset. I think that the caller can hear me, but I'm not sure.
I also tried to use my Motorola H720 headset and had similar results. The Plantronics headset works fine with my HTC Sensation. Is there anything that I should do differently in order for the phone audio to work with the BT headset?
I think there is a problem with the bluetooth stack in the Galaxy Nexus, I've been encountering sync issues with my car which works fine with Nexus S and Nexus One.
Should I contact Google about this? Using BT is important while I drive. I have gotten used to not holding a phone up to my ear while I talk, so this could be a deal-breaker for me. I really like this phone and don't want to give it up, though.

How to pick up incoming call over Bluetooth?

When I try to pick up incoming phone call in my car, after pickup I do not hear the other side and they do not hear me. Only solution is to take out my HOX from pocket (in car is it sometimes dificult) and turn on the loudspeaker on phone. When I make a call, everything is OK.
Interesting is, that ringing I can hear in car speakers, radio is muted. I am using 3 various cars with Bluetooth handsfree from factory. They are not rSAP, only handsfree. Phonebook works in all 3 cars OK, but in Audi Q5 it works OK, and in two Skodas with RNS 510 I have problem with picking up the phone call.
When I have had HTC Sensation, it was in Skodas OK, I have had problem in Audi.
How to solve this probblem? I am now using latest ARHD 9.
I doesn't have this problem with my VW Golf 2012. Maybe can you update the software of your car?
I’m using a 3rd party (JVC) headunit with Bluetooth in my car, works fine for calls when its paired up properly. The only issue I have is that the phone doesn’t always pair the first time. Had ARHD before I moved into ViperX, didn’t notice any difference in BT compatibility between stock, ARHD or Viper X.
Try deleting all previous paired device histories from your phone and car stereo, re initialize everything and start fresh.
