Not to hi-jack your thread, but check out "Xposed Framework". There is a module called "Gravity Box' (and probably a few others) that allow you to do this from a nice GUI. Best thing of all, only "root" is needed.

You need to have Root Access and MetaMorph installed on your Nexus.
Installation:
1. Download file below, note this file requires the MetaMorph Application
2. Move to “Android Themes” folder created by MetaMorph on SD card
3. After checks, choose “Unzip/Extract New”
4. Follow instructions from there
5. Phone may reboot, if not, manually reboot

It'd be cool to have it be one color when all the bars are full (say, green)... another color for halfway (blue?) and then a third color when almost no bars are filled (red). It would also be nice to have it include the battery
Just go edit the .png files from the zip file. Easy even with Paint. But ask for permission to the author first....
Hi! This is a mod of Browser.apk with the possibility to change user agent, select the font size and to open til 16tabs. I've done also a versione with fullscreen.
It is deodexed and based on XXLM8.

How to install:
- Download apk
- Make a backup of your /system/app/Browser.apk and Browser.odex (if exists) and delete them
- Put Browser.apk in /system/app
If there's problems set the correct permissions for Browser.apk (644 or rw-r--r--).

MAKE A NAND BACK UP BEFORE INSTALL, TESTED IN MY GRAND 9080L ( MAY WORK ON 9082L)
How to install :
place systemUI in the sd card
use a file explorer ( like root manager o file manager )
copy the modded systemUI to system/priv-app and overwrite ( will crash the systemUI, just reboot device)
after reboot go to system/priv-app and set permissions of systemUI to -rw-r--r-- then reboot again
and is done.
