Vibration and feedback - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hi guys I kept having a problem on my xperia s recently where sometimes the vibration and haptic feedback on the soft buttons and keyboard stop working. At that time I was rooted on stock .96 firmware.
So yesterday I decided to reflash using SUS. Set everything back to how I had it. However I'm still receiving the same problem. Sometimes vibration stops when the phone rings or when I type or press the home and back buttons. Then sometimes it starts itself. If I reboot it doesn't help. Sometimes doesn't even vibrate when I press the power button to turn the phone on.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Might be hardware problem. ..Check if your vibration is correct using this keycode : *#*#0842#*#*

Hi I have tried your suggestion and it works fine when I do a service test.
Correction: only works sometimes.
Should I buy a new vibration module?

yep...better get it checked to a sony center and see what they have to say

Well I have no warranty left and can't afford the repair cost. I used to work in a mobile phone store myself so I know what I'm doing just haven't had the chance to open up the phone. So I'll try and flash it again and see what happens. After that I'll open up and inspect the handset. I've order the vibration module just in case but I'm gonna have to live with the phone like this for a while due to the holiday period

Phone shuts down vibrate and no sound on calls

Ok , so my phone's is acting up. It turns off on its own then starts to vibrate in a pulsing rhythm. And when I am able to turn it on I try to make phone calls and I can't hear anything and same goes to the other end of the phone call. I read that the random reboots could be caused by a faulty power button but I don't know about the no sound phone calls. I wanted to remap the power button to + volume rocker but couldn't find an app to do it. How would I remap the button? Or better yet is my phone a lost cause? BTW I'm back to stock.

I don't think it is a faulty Power button. If it was then it would just hard reboot (holding power button for longer than 10 seconds will force reboot it). It sounds like a software issue. You could root and flash a rom and see what happens. Message me if you need any other help
Ok I rooted and flashed cm9.1 and it was running good for an hour and then bam. It shut down and started vibrating. I tried turning back on and at the phone turned off and started vibrating again.

[Q] Screen problem

Hello,
My friend have a Sony Xperia S and reciently it been serviced because microphone was not working just after a month of using it, but its been fixed and fine, but it taken them 2 weeks to fix it! But now when the phone in portrait mode will not register touch on the notification bar and in the Screen test the yellow line does not get to the top of the screen when you move finger across, but in landscape mode the i can get to the notification bar. So ether digitizer is broken or the screen is need re-calibration but i dont know how to do recalibration. Can some one give me advice WITHOUT taking it again to the Sony Service Center.
Thank you
Hold the screen lock button, and the volume down button for around 10 seconds. Basically resets the hardware. Hope this helps you.

Same problem here
Hi there,
as I am facing the same problem with my Xperia S.
However it's my fault as I opened the device, loosened and tightened all screws on the back.
Unfortunately, I even flashed ROM and Kernel before and was running into some problems, so I wanted to take the battery out for a moment...
Any solutions so far execpt buying a screen replacement?

[Q] Phone won't turn on, blue led is permanently on.

I tried to unlock the bootloader today,I was in the step where you have to press the volume up button and plug the usb. The blue light showed up, but due to some problems i couldn't continue the unlocking process. I disconnected the phone from the PC, but the blue light was still on. I tried turning the phone on, but no response. I tried pressing up+power, no response. I tried connecting to the PC again, nothing. I tried every single thing ,but the phone won't turn on and the light won't go off.
I searched every corner of the internet for an answer but i can't find any. This phone is brand new(i bought just 2 days ago!!!!) and i'm yet to pay for it.... Please help me, i beg you!

Brightness stopped working and black screen after wake up.

Hello.
Suddenly my phone decided to stop activating the screen after I press the power button to wake it up, but the soft keys light up and screen is working even though I am unable of seeing anything.
Also the brightness function not working as well.
Any idea how to fix it or should I send it back to LG?
PS. My phone is not rooted and running factory 4.1.2

explain !
working screen but you cant see anything
brightness function not working on a dead / black screen?
No.
Let's take things from the start. Assuming that the phone is off when I open it the screen is fully functional. As soon as it goes into standby mode or by pressing the power button or after 30 sec or 1 min according to users settings the screen won't start again when you press the power button to wake it up.
As for the brightness setting is not working at all either I choose automatic mode or manually. I can only access the settings when I power on the phone when it is off.
I hope now it is crystal clear.
Try reformatting with new kdz

should have waited or my reply... we are not in same timezone. anyway its seems bsod a simple wipe or even kdz flash would confirm any hardware issue.
Thanks for the reply I will let you know as soon as I take it back....
Was the issue resolved?
Hi,
Just getting this same issue with LG Optimus G E975. Did you have any specific solution for this?

It seems there could be a combination of keys/gestures that can turn the capacitive keys off.. But nobody yet has been able to figure our either the lock or unlock combination
I guess your only option is to flash back to stock
