[Q] Rebooting into bootloader - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can't figure out how to reboot the G pad into bootloader mode using the hardware buttons on the side. If I try using the power menu option in android to reboot into bootloader mode, it does not work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

are you actually trying to get into recovery?
so that way you can wipe or get out of a bootloop like you did in that other post?
all you have to do is this

Yes, I tried flashing a 4.4.2 ROM and it is boot-looping. I will try that. Thanks.

Are you able to use the volume up/down buttons to make a selection?
No. I can't. And when I press the power button, it locked the touch input so I have to do a hard reset
Are you using the version in Freegee?
You are on the value pack update and installed twrp from the development thread. Download freegee from the play store and use that to install the right version.

In order to do mentioned above, you'll need to somehow revert to stock. I don't know of any other way to undo your current state (unresponsive touch screen). If the restore fails you have a hardware issue.

[Q] Flash CWM via download mode (LG Tool)

hello everyone,
I read somewhere that LG Optimus G Pro has no stock recovery.
Similar to Samsung devices that can flash CWM via odin from download mode, is there a current method or trick on how to flash CWM via LG Tool in download mode ?
The g pro has a stock recovery mode.
No there is no method similar to Oden for flashing recovery on the g pro. That I know of.
If u are on. 4.1.2 just root and use freegee From the play store.
If u are on 4.4 KK. There there is an apk
You can download off xda that will install a recovery.

Im not sure if you can call this a stock recovery because there has no blue text sections.

FreeGee version 1.9.23 does not have options to unlock bootloader or disable security. Only shows choices to backup/restore EFS and shows both CWM and TWRP. Do you choose the recovery and it auto unlocks/diable security?

This confusing.
I am running stock JB on unrooted E080 variant, and when I use the fastboot App to go to recovery mode, it only shows the Android robot recovery logo without any recovery text options.
But when I manually perform the recovery mode, (Vol Up + Power) it only boots to a black screen without any Android robot and a blinking home button.
Esimon, are you sure the first attachment picture is from the At&t LG Optimus G Pro e980 ?
Is there a way to enter stock recovery using key combination?(when the phone is powered off)

I have some questions.
1. whats the model variant of your LG Optimus G Pro ?
2. Did you tried flashing a cynogenmod with a Custom Recovery or ?
The reason for asking the 2nd question, is because, it seems impossible for me to access the Factory Stock Recovery (Android System Recovery 3e) on e980 version and I only get a black screen and a blinking home button.

G pro e980 at&t bricked

I tried to install ROM [20140920]VUPMP.GPRO.sG3.Stable for LG GPRO. I was on stock 4.1.2 rooted and I have e980 at&t. I had twrp 2.6.3 installed and in options I chose to keep the recovery as it is. After flashing the zip, file Installation of zip file failed appeared and I ignored it and rebooted the mobile, hoping to run the rom. But since then my phone is stuck on Lg logo. I can't boot into Twrp recovery as well and I try to boot into recovery it doesn't boot up instead phone is again stuck on Lg logo. I can't boot to bootloader either. I can't boot into download mode either so I can't flash the stock rom. What should I do to recover my phone? Please help !!! Is there any way to flash the stock rom as I can't get into download mode. Whenever I try to get into download mode using the volume up and power key, I end up on the same lg screen. All methods for installing stock rom that I have seen involve booting into download mode. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can I flash a recovery some how?
To get into download mode, you need to press both volume buttons simultaneously while plugging in the USB cable, not volume up and power.

Must get into "download mode" to kdz back to stock. Keep trying to get into "download mode" using vol. Up and good usb-c cable plugged into usb2 port running win10. May need to put phone in Ziploc freezer bag and in freezer to power phone completely off before getting into download mode
If you have access to TWRP flip over to command prompt (I think it's in advanced or settings) and see if you can use ADB commands to reboot into bootloader.
'adb reboot bootloader'
I've been in this exact situation before. H933

Press and hold vol down + power button. When the screen turns off quickly hold vol up and plug in the phone.
May require 2 people to do it in time.
