ELTD® PU Leather Smart Cover Case For LG G Pad 8.3 With Stand Function - G Pad 8.3 Accessories

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GPKONYI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Received this case on the first day of the long predicted window for delivery. Although it's marketed as ELTD, the clasp is labelled IVSO. I'm very pleased with the quality of the materials, very good fit with the hard shell, all cutouts in exactly the right place and the foldable cover has a quality feel to it, almost too stiff. Auto-wake and sleep works perfectly, and the magnetic clasp is very strong, no danger of it coming open in your bag. It's a bit tricky to find the right position for the more vertical position, turns out you have to attach the magnetic clasp to the top hinge of the case which keeps the case from lying flat over the speakers. It also needs to be on a flat surface. Can't fault the supplier either, very fast and satisfactory responses to my queries. All in all, highly recommended.

So, the speakers are covered by the case when it's standing, aren't they? Could you post some pictures please?
Thanks in advanced.

got it as well this morning I found the case a wee bit heavy seem to be more than the ELTD slimbook that I allready have
I am not happy with it as I was with the slimbook , I found the build quality better

I think that you can see it on the 4th picture

I bought the IVSO version, but it looks like they could be the same case. Mine was delivered today too so hopefully I will be pleased with it too.
Edited to add, I'm very pleased with the IVSO case.
Build quality is great, though the case is quite weighty. The magnets are very good, there's no way the cover will accidentally open.

I really don't like the look of the slimbook with the case covering the bezel. This case is much nicer to look at for me.

Yes it's sold as ELTD but the magnetic catch is labelled IVSO.

Excellent - finally, confirmation that this thing does NOT seriously block the speakers in stand mode. Also, that the more vertical stand mode actually works.
I'm gonna wait a few weeks to see if a red version will pop up - but this is a buy for me. Thanks guys for the pictures!

Does the magnet turn off the screen when you fold the cover all the way to the back?

It is available @Amazon.de (Germany) as well.
Just bought it, should receive it tomorrow.

A review on Amazon says it did.

My ivso turned up today, mixed feelings so far.
The case certainly feels strong enough, good fit, but the metal magnetic tag is a little too big for me, it is very close to the screen when closed.
The auto sleep/wake function mode does not work correctly for me, only works when the front cover is folded round the back, no idea why??? But then the function does not work when the pin lock is in use so it is not a deal breaker for me.
The horizontal stand is also a bit hit and miss, often comes loose but i expect the fabric grooves to soften over time and i expect it will work fine.
Speakers are covered with stand horizontal but i did not bother me. Still loud enough.
If anybody wants pics let me know.

Review: full coverage tpu case.

This is review of the full coverage tpu case.
In another thread I did state that this case is flimsy, and I wasn't really interested in it, in shenzhen when using it, it seems a good idea, but the lid did not lay flat and just kept on popping out up from the main body.
The lid has about 4-5 notches that are held down with groves at the rim of the main body.
the lid also has a piece of clear plastic, similar to the materials used for id holders, but not as flexible.
the lid is a anti-glare type with fine specks of glitter, in china and hong kong we call this diamond coat.
the front camera and two sensor on the lid is not covered with glitter, but is made clear through the plastic, but not cutout.
May be the version that I have tested out in hong kong was a better quality one and not the sample that was tested in china, and the lid did seem to fit right into the body without the lid trying to force itself out and it fit rather well.
The case itself has cut out for the two speakers, home button, two mic's, headset socket and the USB socket.
The volume and power button are covered.
The back of the case is glossy finished, whiles the rest of the case is matt, soft/fine grainy finished( not like the rock case reviewed in this forum).
It probably look better if the whole case was the matt finished and not glossy.
Now, many member might want to know if the touch features can be used with the lid on, well after using it today the touch sensitvity is very responsive, the clear plasic is about 0.3mm-0.4mm thick, my phone also had another clear Protector on it was supplied with my nillkin case that I bought last month.
Just purchased this in hong kong for HKD 30, the shop put the wrong price, should of been HKD 50 like the rest of the colours, the price was covered with a tag stating a new item, i just took the tag off to find the price sticker for HKD 30.
so far I have seen this i 3 packaging, this will also reflect the price.
plain plastic bag
paper box with front see through.
The one I have with photo's below includes a free protector.
updated with actual photo's.
So did the ones you ordered stay closed properly? I see in one of the side shots that the front wasn't closed all the way.

yes it does, it's like an anti glare with specks of fine glitter.
and after further testing it's best to have the screen protector removed( the sticky one).
I find it very unusual that the screen is very responsive due to the thickness of the lid and the home key is little bit lower than the protector lid which does prevent acidental pressing.

At first I didn't really like it, and the fitting was all out, may be it was a sample, but I did make a purchase of one from a local shop, and it did fit pretty well, the case isn't that thick either. The only bad thing is, if you don't like anti glare screen, this is out.

[PIC] Yet Another Poetic Slimline Review

I just got my poetic slimline today. Have been using the ASUS travel cover and I believe I will say goodbye to that. I struggle for a while choosing between the poetic and moko. I ended up with poetic because of the 3-year warranty and the better protection around the buttons.
Followings are my impression:
1. Thinner than I expect. It works with my Samsung Qi charging pad also!
2. All openings are precisely cut.
3. The cover lays flat and securely on the screen.
4. It does have magnet to hold the stand when the cover is folded.
5. Auto sleep/awake works perfectly. Tried over 10 times and it never misses.
5. I don't need to worry about the metal (on the moko ultra-slim) scratching the screen.
More pic:
Cannot go wrong with this case at this price. It's backed with 3-year warranty!
I just got one also and can confirm its a great case, it feels nice wrapped around the device.

The first to pics show the speaker cut outs. Just got mine the other day. Nice case.
Can't help it but all those 3rd party cases look pretty crappy compared to the official premium case or apples smart cover. Wonder why no 3rd party company can hit the quality materials and build quality.
Can I ask you a question. If you open the front cover and hold the device with the front cover touching the back cover does it put your device to sleep. Mine does and I have to let the front cover hang when I am using it which is really annoying. I wanted to see if I just got a dud or not. I am going to return it for another one yet if others are having the problem I will just go with another company.

In the flesh, the Poetic case is nicely finished. If it was leather I'd stay with it. The quality of fit and feel is definitely superior to the Nillkin and it costs 1/4 the price!

Sometimes if my case is open with the cover behind the tablet and I turn the tablet on and then slide to unlock instead of unlocking it turns off.
But if the device is on and the cover is folded behind I don't have an issue.

I have an O'Box Commuter and am receiving a Reveal and the official car dock today. I will take pictures of the phone with both cases in the dock (assuming they both fit).
I got my Reveal case a couple days ago and I have to admit, I really like it! I bought a case from Motorola. A clear snap on hard case and took it off right away. I also got a Bear Motion case on Amazon that I never used. This reveal case has stayed on since I got it! The blue matches perfectly with the royal blue back of my phone. Thanks guys for the recommendation on this case.
just got my reveal today.
really nice case!!
cost $20 on ebay, which is not really cheap for a case. but i had a cheapo "cimo s-line" on my phone before that that cost me like $3-4. this is much nicer looking, the buttons click better and its actually feels slightly smaller in hand. it really is a small case.
i think its worth it, feels a little better and looks much nicer (the s-line case looked terrible). given im a klutz who manages to knock my phone off a table or something nearly every day it seems like a case was needed. (probably dropped my moto x like 4-5 times this week...)
fit and finish on the reveal is perfect. some part of me wishes i had a phone that wasnt just black weave now, to show off with the see through part.
i do have to say one thing.
this case the clear part scratches up really easily. i put the phone + case my desk plastic side down and there were a ton of fine scratches. tried to polish them out with some meguirs plastx that i had (works great on car dash guages by the way) and it made even more. yes its a case, and its made to be scratched, but be aware the ones wth these hard plastic finishes seem to scratch up quick

The power support aire jacket case has some self healing coating on it that seems to not scratch as easy as the Griffin. I have both and the air jacket is higher quality. My reveal came in the box with lots of scratches straight from Motorola.

I don't know which one is better, both are interesting. My only doubt, for both products, is the back quality, as for what I understood they clasp directly on the mattee surface of the phone. If the cover is badly cut, then back scratches are possible... so I think I'll wait for some feedback first

mine just arrived and I would concur that it is very nicely made, fits very snugly against the phone. If it have a hole for the notification light, and a small suction cup to keep the cover closed like the pudini it would be perfect! Let me know if you want me to take more pictures.

It have a magnet to do the sleep/wake function but the magnet isn't strong enough keep it closed, hence my comment having suction cup thing
Looks cool !! But for $7 is a bit hard to trust the leather quality ...
Mine just arrived and man this thing is heavy for a case but is very good quality for £6.50 including shipping. It's so much nicer now that the screen wakes up as soon as you open the case.
All in all very impressed.
Garbage
This case is crap guys. The material feels nasty and tends to grip pocket lining making it difficult to slide in and out. The flip cover seems to be fashioned out of metal (based on the weight and rigidity) and I have noticed signal reception fluctuating with flap orientation. I get that it's a $10 and expectations are low, but you can do much better than this. Anyone tried to the Nilikin or can recommend any other quick cover knockoffs?
Today I looked for a leather case with a sleep/wake magnet.
Until now 3 out of 5 do not have a magnet - the other's answer is still outstanding.
However what I really don't get is: Why does no case have a cut-out for the notification light. I would even say, that this is more crucial than the cut-out for the earpiece.
Or does anyone know such a case?

case with port covers?

Hey all,
I have a nice case and glass screen protector but I kinda need something with port covers ie- headphone and charging ports. I work in a dusty environment. I really don't want a pain in the ass case to take off since I have a spare battery I swap out.
But you still need the speaker and mic's to be open.... makes no sense to me.

I'm just worries about the charging port and headphone jack getting crap in them. Should I not be?
If your work environment is bad enough for you to be concerned about dust ingress then you're right to be concerned. I'd suggest maybe using a cheapo phone at work.
Dust won't be particular about where it enters so all openings are vulnerable. If it was me I'd certainly not want to risk my V20.
Well I work for parks down here in Florida. It can get dusty at times. It's not like I work in a machine shop that has particulates flying about. I think I am being more anal than anything lol
Haha you're on the wrong site then mate

But seriously, it doesn't sound as bad as what you made it in your OP. So I wouldn't worry too much about the dust aspect, as long as you've got a decent case on it for drop protection I'd guess it should be OK.

I used this Nilkin case which is just what you need. I use it and it is perfect! Not sure if it fits the bill for you but the link is below. I got them off Aliexpress - not too sure if they ship to your place.

Looks good but does the case stick out enough to protect the camera lens?

I would say it does the job? But that's just for me. It is like any other TPU cases that you have on the market. The quality is definitely there. I'm using a different leather case now for work and I still keep that TPU one.

Thanks.
Coming from a Nexus 6 I am really enjoying this phone. I did have my reservations
Check ringke cases, some have covers for the port. Otterbox also has covers for the ports iirc.
Looks like Otterbox have discontinued the V20 case...

Still available in the US:

and on Amazon UK:

as well as Amazon US:

This is the case I use and it really protects the phone. The only ports left open are the 3 microphone and speaker. The charging port is covered. I think it's the best you'll find.
Yeah i know. But odd that it's discontinued so soon.
And the price is too much.
Had an Otterbox on my Nokia N900, excellent quality, and it was cheaper getting it from the US.
Just checked, I've still got the case.
