[Q] Disable boot up sound? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

I have the SP600 and trying to find out if there is a way to disable the boot up sound on a stock rom? I looked through the settings but didn't see anything. I saw in development forum a custom rom recently developed for the 600 you can disable it there. Is that the only way, root and flash the custom rom? My wife doesn't want to root hers as she is afraid of giving up the warranty. I get my 600 Wednesday and will be rooting and flashing it.

The boot sound is part of your boot animation and as far as I know, you cannot modify or change it without root. :crying:

Thanks..that was what I thought. Will have to get her to let me root it so I can turn it off for her...

I apologize if this isn't what you're look for, but... From what I Can tell it looks like selecting Mute after holding the power button for a few seconds will disable the boot sound. For fun I've attached an image of what I mean....

Wait...is the sp600 not the tablet this forum is focused on? I thought that was the model# for the 10.1 2014....

Thanks..I think that will work...not sure what else it will mutes yet. Is it the tablet itself it mutes or just the start up sound?
I just tested it and it mutes everything...would have to mute when shutting it down, then unmute when it starts back up...not the best way but at least she can not have it make noise when starting. I will work on her to let me root it for her..that way she won't have to remember to mute then un mute...but Thanks...

If I understand your question, yes I am asking about the SP600, which is the 10.1 2014 wifi version.

Sorry....That's my bad. I did a Google search for sp600 and it found a projector instead of the tablet.

Just another thought. It might be possible to set something up with the app "Tasker" that mutes all sound before a restart.

Hi. I have some albums on my phone I would like to delete and cannot figure it out, even with google. They are the instant upload and then another with the same instant upload circle thing in the bottom left corner. I'd really like them gone and don't want it to happen anymore. Can anyone help? Thank you.

I was having the same issue and the only thing I was able to do was change the view. I am using the stock gallery and if you touch the menu button, select "view by" and then select "content in device." I hope this helps some.

There's an option in the camera settings to save to external SD. (Assuming you're on stock Samsung ROM).
Hi.
What do batteries run on?
Also, if I melt some dry ice, can I liquid cool my phone without it getting wet?

No problem. Any TouchWiz based ROM should have the stock camera and it should be there. CM10/AOKP ROMs do not have this option yet.
I need some rooting info. I haven't yet done anything to my phone as of yet. I understand there is a way to root without tripping the counter and if you do a way to reset the counter. My first question is there a way to reset the modified tag or will it revert when returned to stock? And second one is will flashing stock back onto the phone for warranty purposes or whatever trip the counter? I'm sure these have both been addressed and I am still searching.
Does anyone remember how to search? Just wondering, not flaming anyone. That is just my stupid question.

Flashing back to stock will not trip the meter. An app on the market, Triangle away will reset your meter (use it right before flashing stock, while the phone is still rooted). There is a no trip method to root, using Odin, in the development sub forum stickies.

Theres a little pink bunny beating on a big bass drum. The faster he beats the more electricity your battery puts out. When he gets tired you plug your phone up so he can rest. You know he's well rested when you see 100%. Then he does it all over again. Amazing. Someone else will have to answer your dry ice question. dry ice floats

Annoying "boot sound" turn it off!! BOOT ANIMATIONS FOUND HERE!

HAVE TO BE ROOTED. IF the power on sound is annoying to you as to me I changed it off...I will provide a screenshot I used root explorer to rename the file and put a "y" at the end of the file....and the touch sound is little annoying hearing raindrops everywhere so i did the same method. .....
TO change these as something you wish copy a sound over change permissions and rename to what it once was...ONCE YOUR DONE REBOOT;;;
SCREENSHOT shows where files are located for your convenience. ...hope this helps

You don't have to change the touch sound, as there is already an option in settings to disable it.

Why is it when someone post useful info that people can use someone comes and tells people not to do what was told or shown. I bet later somewhere we are gonna see you ask about sounds files and wish gave you insight on how to change sound files and where they are . Just learn and stop always commenting against what contributors say.

I'm not sure how you got that from my post. I was replying in regards to "the touch sound is little annoying hearing raindrops everywhere so i did the same method." I assumed that he didn't realize that the option to turn it off was there. What was wrong with saying that this step is not necessary? I was not being confrontational.

Hi i just get an lg g3 stylus cause i lost my old phone anyway i notice this devices auto stop my music and volume down througth all my life i always hear music at full volume it makes nothing to me im used to i just want to know what i have to disable on the settings or what i have to edit in build.prop ( i read some info in the g2 u can dosable this by editing this file but i dont know hows the string called in the g3 stylus or if the actually exist) im problably will have to root the device to install xposed to fix this ( is there an actually thread on this ?)
So i know exactly what i have to do.
P.D. i try hearing saver but it cant override the auto stop volume down of music
I just get this cellphone and update so factory reset should not be an option
I love this phone i had a galaxy grand so this is an update it just have this issue
Thank for all info u can share with me to fix this thanks!
Bump
Years ago I used to use Tasker to max my volume when I plugged in a headset jack, because I'd listen to music in my car through the aux input, and this was the easiest way to deal with the volume.
So you could install Tasker, and have it max the volume when you plug in a headset.
I have to try that specific app but when i tried hearing saver (its similar) did not worked for my specific problem the volume still go down after few secs.
Any way thanks ill try it out and let you know
I think thats not what im looking for. Any way thanks.
I looking for a way to disable hearing protection
Its say
Media volume has been lowered to protect your hearing
It's called safe headset volume.
Xposed + g3tweaksbox or gravitybox = fixt
Ok thanks ill try that and let you know
Thanks
I appreciated
When i install wanam xposed it gives an error i think this is made only for samsung device

Well then on a stock ROM you should go for g3tweaksbox instead of gravitybox.
If it doesn't work I'd say module bug. Report it to dev & look for another in the mean time.

Because now the volume is not lowering and not getting the system messages.
But it stops the music when volume goes to peak level.

Not a module bug because G3 Tweakbox never had the ability to do this. You are giving inaccurate/false answers.
"Because now the volume is not lowering and not getting the system messages."
What G3 Tweakbox does and supposed to do.
"But it stops the music when volume goes to peak level."
Tweakbox never had this, but please do show me where it is.

Double press power button to launch camera

Okay, call me crazy, but I am positive that that shortcut was not present before. I have the latest security patch, no root, no bootloader unlocked, no custom rom. I double pressed it and the camera launched. I don't know if it has to do with hiding the stock Sense Home screen via adb. I don't know what I did. I don't find a setting or anything in the entire system.

Anyone successful with getting this to stock rom?
I have only tried some apps but don't work
Yeah, I read it somewhere, it's one of the effects of disabling the HTC Lockscreen. Having the stock Android Lockscreen enables that double press shortcut.
I have a question too though, does the fingerprint scanner work on the Stock Android Lockscreen?
Question: how do I disable this feature?

There is a strange issue, every time I make a call, the speaker seems to be enabled on default and clicking on it to disable speaker mode seems not to be working. In other words every call is on speaker mode. One more thing there seems to be no option for advanced reboot as root access is disabled also there is no oem unlocking option under developers options, so how can I get root access? My volume down key is broken so I can't use Power+V.up+V.down key, any suggestion would be appreciated. Other than that everything is smooth and fast a real pixel experience indeed. Thank you

Provide logs ... And to restart use USB debugging and use the command on the PC "adb reboot-recovery or bootloader".

The last build causes bootloop.

No any camera app working fine for me
Calls can only made via loud speaker.
But atleast try out once to taste the ultimate pie experience.
It's really awesome and cool. Best UI I've ever seen on g4 plus.
