Extended batteries are nice, but they add a lot of bulk to your phone. I switched to my stock battery because having a phone that doesn't feel like a heavy brick is so much nicer.

If only it was possible to get that kind of battery life without turning the phone into a humpback whale.

Just to let you know,
the chinese makers of many batteries like to lie about the MaH ratings - it's easy to tell if you weigh them. Also I've seen them set it up so that power depletes slowly for the first 100-60% and then rapidily drop within seconds when the power is running out.
I recommend looking at reviews from phones in general and find a maker that isn't a scammer - one that takes pride in their name and quality. There are plenty now and they're about the same price if you buy direct from china. I thought a few times about selling them but then I relised that people are too dumb and just look at the price so I couldn't be bothered. There are some countries where it's not even possible to buy a decent replacement battery - Latin America and Spain for example.

Exactly. These make it hard to put the phone in your pocket.

IMHO I'd rather carry around a spare Samsung Extended battery with me and just swap it in. Saves a lot of money. I got mine on Amazon for like $10. Plus I can use any case with it.

Battery for Galaxy Nexus - 2000-3000 mah

I'm looking for a Galaxy Nexus extended battery in the 2000-3000mah category. I don't want the Uber-thick 3800mah Seido but I don't want the extra 100-200mah for the Samsung extended (doesn't seem worth it even with a half-priced battery), I'm kind of looking for something in between (like a sweet spot) maybe in the range of 2500-3000 would be ideal. I'm sure there will need to be a separate case for it.
Any suggestions?
Chicks dig the uber thick ones

I wish there was a 2500 option for the gnex too. I'm cutting it close at the end of the day and it would be awesome if I didn't have to worry about conserving enough for an emergency.
I purchased 2 2500mA batteries from Hong Kong. There is no NFC. Also, the batteries work with the original back cover!! I should receive them by the end of the week hopefully. I am currently using a 3800 extended battery and the battery life is unbelievably great. I am hopeful that the 2500 will get me through a day of heavy use. I bought them off eBay from "weil368".

Just curious, do you have the LTE Verizon Nexus or the GSM version?
I have the GSM Nexus. The first day was OK. Definitely better than the original battery but no where near as good as the 3800mAh behemoth. I was able to make it through a day of light to moderate use. Hopefully after a few cycles they will get better.

How much screen on time was that? I switched to teerom and have gone from 6 hours of battery life up to 15 or so with stock battery. I think it may be the apex launcher.

Guys ... please don't be fooled by high amperage in the same OEM body volume adverts.
There is NO 2500mAh in the world that will fit in the original 1750mAh volume. That technology is not yet accessible.
I'm 120% positive (and I can bet on this) that those "2500mAh" batteries have the same stored power (if not less) than the OEM 1750mAh ones.
If you get lucky, you may end up having initially a battery slightly stronger than the oem one which will deprecate in a matter of weeks and it will end up a lot weaker than the OEM.
I've been wondering about something for a while. Is there a technical reason why Li-Ion batteries must be in rectangular shape? Looking at the ginormous back for the Seido/Mugen 3500+ mAh extended batteries, I can't help thinking about all that wasted space above the SIM and up to the camera that could be "filled in" by an irregularly shaped battery.
The battery is made out of a long ribbon-like sandwich of electrolyte between two thin metallic foils (electrodes) and the whole structure is rolled or packed. It would be way too expensive to make it in custom shapes. So , the Li-Ion batteries can be built like cylinders or rectangular shapes.

Battery 3500mAh

I am very sorry if there is already topic like this one.
I found on ebay a battery that was 3500mAh or 3600mAh I don't recall exactly, but they say that it is the exact size like the original and won't change the size of the phone like the 5000mAh does.
My question is did someone has it,and how is it working? How many hours did your phone last?
Thank You in advance!

Absolute nonsense. Every battery that claims vast improvements in the same form factor is a scam.
If 3500mah could fit in the space provided, Samsung would have included a 3500mah battery.

If you meant the Gold battery, then it is 3500mAh. I bought two and noticed a huge difference compared to my stock battery. The stock used to power the phone until 7pm with moderate usage, wifi and bluetooth always on. Ever since I used the Gold battery, the battery still is at approximately 40% at 11pm. The battery still is 2 days old but still, the difference is noticeable
can you guys do a nova battery tester run on those batteries?

Mine came with 2800 mAh. Since it's cheaper than stock it has worth the purchase. Don't get your hopes high with these batteries.
Your srock may be dieing if it's almost a year old. Mine got down to 1700 mAh and this explains the "huge" difference you see in your new battery.

I bought the Gold battery two months after I got my Note so it means the OEM is still at it's peak. But yeah, I really don't have high hopes for replacement batteries. They may have a higher charge but they won't last as long as OEM. Like my dslr batteries, I get more juice out of the replacement batteries but my OEM battery outlasted them. But it is still worth it for me. What good is a camera (or phone in this case) if it does not have power when you really need it? Battery life does not matter to me (atleast in my case since I could buy 4 to 5 replacement batteries for 1 OEM dlsr battery - the Gold battery however, is another case).I keep that mantra all the time and I am happy with it

I see a lot of battery threads but can't make up my mind, what's the best battery?

Yup, and $25
Been on the VZ nexus extended battery for a month - wow it is great. Much better than I expected. Took off the label paper, trimmed off the plastic end caps to the battery height (with a razor blade). Left on the NFC antenna, but can get it thinner by cutting that off. My stock cover barely bulges. It's been $35 at Amazon (Samsung 2100 mah extended with cover) or at Verizon (lucked out when it was $25)
I just ordered the anker 2050 from ebay for 9.99 shipped.
I dont use nfc and our phones lack the secure element needed for g00gle wallet. I also wanted the back cover to fit correctly without having to modify the battery, and 50mha isnt a big difference.
Hands down nexus...

The better the system the more battery it Burns, I app pose that if the processors and memory were less consumptuous then maybe we would be better off. Honestly even if you are turning off certain process patterns or psych out the brain it won't help, the won't be such a thing as a perfect phone unless you built it yourself, but unless the boards and parts are sold to secure in sockets your out of luck.

N4 for GNEX, should I?

Hi, well, there is this opportunity, there is a friend who is buying a N4, he is not sure about keeping it and I proposed him:
I give you my Gnex (With 2000mAh original battery) + 120 USD and you give me you N4.
My Gnex is aroung 6 months old and the N4 would be new.
What would you do?
Best regards.
i would tell him to make that 20$ off and take it without even thinking
Even with 120$, go for it
Fair trade.

Some phones have key-combos to power it off. However I haven't discovered it on GNex. Long press power button doesn't seem to do the thing.

Phones with non removable batteries need a hard reset option which makes it being non removable a non issue. The Nexus 4 I think uses the method of pressing the latest power button about 10 seconds which is faster and easier than a battery pull.
Well not completely a non issue. There's still the limitation of only using stock battery and no extended battery.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Hi,
Now he is asking for 150 USD.. He will include one distronic case and screen protector. What do you think ?
What worries me is the non-removable battery and its battery life, my gnex has the original extended battery (its 2000mah) and I am getting really good battery life (between 14-18hours idle and between 3:30 and 4:00 screen on time).
The glass back... Well I will have to be really careful...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
The phone is worth even those extra 30 bucks on the long run. For the glass back, get a dBrand cover, which attaches to back and looks nice.
But if he'll try to milk more money of you tell him to **** off, because he ain't serious.

None that I am aware of, I have never owned a gold one but there are posts around both for and against them... some say they are just a 2100 mAh with a new sticker....
I have Seidio's extended battery, along with the case for it. Outrageously expensive, but worth every penny if only because the case has saved my phone from destruction at least 6-8 times when I've dropped it onto hard floors.
It (or my phone) definitely has "moods", though... I've managed to burn through the entire extended battery in as few as 3-4 hours (!!!) a few times. If I don't semi-charge it on my desk at work, it'll usually be down to 15-30% by the time I go home, and dangerously low if it gets another 30-60 minutes of constant use somewhere while eating dinner. I wish somebody besides Seidio made a battery with the compatible dimensions... I wouldn't use a second one often enough to justify throwing down another $70, but I'd love to pick up a second one that's good enough to go for another 3-4 hours.
In case anybody's wondering, my awful battery life is mostly because I use Graffiti, and have to lock the CPU to 100% whenever the screen is on to get acceptable accuracy. It seems like every new generation of Android phones has a worse sample rate than the last, and gets more and more aggressive about trying to slow down the CPU whenever there's a soft keyboard open. (Seriously... my creaky, ancient Sprint Hero OC'ed to 712MHz had a butter-smooth high sample rate, and I could get almost 100% accuracy writing blind with my thumb. My S3 seems to have MAYBE half the sample rate, and Graffiti input when the CPU is allowed to scale down freely and some ***** app is doing realtime Ajax character-by-character queries is almost impossible.
