Introducing Pranjal's ROM :good: :victory:
The most SECURE, STABLE and PRIVACY inspired rom with AWESOME MUSIC based on stock
COMPILING THE BEST TO MAKE THE BETTER
ROM uses stock kernel
DISCLAIMER: It is not my responsibility if something happens to your phone or you! Do it at your own risk! :angel:
also I edited it for my own personal use...so just sharing it here!
FLASH OVER ANY ROM!
NO IMEI ISSUES.
DEVICES WITH IMEI ISSUES WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE FIXED!

BUGS:

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE FOR ENSURING SPEED AND PERFORMANCE!!
CAN BE FLASHED DIRECTLY OVER ANY ROM!
1. Backup your device data. Turn off your device.
2. Download Pranjal's ROM v1.1 and SP Tools.
3. Extract both the files in separate folders.
4. Run "Flash_tool.exe"
5. Click "Scatter-loading" and select the "MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt".
6. Click "Download"
7. While your device is turned off, connect it via USB and SP tools will download the ROM to your device.
8. Wait for a green circle on your computer screen, after which disconnect your device.
9. Flash v3 DIRECT UPGRADE via cwm recovery and then v3.1, turn on your device and then conduct a factory reset (factory reset is your choice).
10. Run "xposed installer" and click "framework" > "Install" > "ok" > "back" > "modules" > check all three and reboot
11. Follow the sound setting from below
12. Post your feedback!
13. Install all future upgrades via CWM recovery and wipe cache and dalvik-cache.
MANDATORY SOUND SETTINGS:
1. settings > user profile > audio enhancer (uncheck)
2. download ViPER Presets
3. extract the folder ViPER4Android and place it in internal sd card
4. Open Viper4android app and install the super audio quality driver (ignore this step if installed)
scroll to headset
5. menu > Viper settings > Load effect profile > eXtrmeBeats BassHead
6. if you want more bass, then in Advanced UI, increase the percentage in "Selext Dynamic Bass"
PowerAMP SPECIFIC SETTINGS:
1. PowerAMP settings > audio > advanced tweaks > direct volume control (uncheck)
2. PowerAMP settings > audio > advanced tweaks > BT direct volume control (uncheck)
3. PowerAMP settings > audio > advanced tweaks > music fx (check)
4. PowerAMP equaliser > tone/vol > turn off Equ, Tone and Limit
5. PowerAMP equaliser > tone/vol > turn on Music fx

It's not just an xposed customised rom. This rom, like my rom for Samsung galaxy 3, is based on the minimalist concept with malware, crapware and redundant apps removed!
So your battery lasts longer device performance is better. Music in this device is amazing.
Also it's for those who like to stay as close to stock as possible with the best music, performance and battery.

Lenovo super camera is good, but has a problem.. Check out the image. I'll add it in extras though.
I have already replaced the stock jelly bean launcher with go launcher which offers many options and themes, including KitKat theme. I will provide that in extras too.
Check out the "future development" on page one for upcoming features.

It should work.
BTW it would be easy for you to not to include xposed or gravity box which can be readily available to download. in fact, Most of of the apps which can be downloaded from play store can be omitted to reduce size.
Also it has now become a norm to provide flashable zip ROMs as SP tools methods feels too complex. So please look into providing flahsable ones. Perhaps that is one of the reasons y your rom is not getting expected downloads, I feel.

I'll look into making flashable zip too. Next update will be a zip file.
I cannot exclude xposed and gravity, though my motto is a minimalistic design, because if by accident you removed any of these files/apk then your settings will fail. I want my rom to be stable in extreme circumstances too

Not just the updates, but whole ROM should be released as zip for more people to benefit (you know, there are many issues with drivers for these devices on windows 7 and windows 8).
I do not understand what settings might fail. If any settings are to fail then it should be related to Xposed and GB, not the base ROM itself. Could you please elaborate?

Yes, I will make the whole ROM in zip format. Currently I do not know how to make the whole ROM in a flashable zip. Although I know how to make a flashable zip. I'll definitely work on this, as it is needed in my SG3 ROM too.
Yes, xposed and Go settings will be removed which might leave you helpless at the time of need.. Like torch or other quick shortcuts. The ROM in itself will not fail, but the default Android format will be enabled.

using cf-root ace ramdisk. it will say s5830-cfroot on cwm manager, and adrealine cpu control, but thats just a name. its a combination of the kernel for gio and the ramdisk for ace(fully compitable).
- data working. no need to set up APN manually any more.
- adrealine ''boost'' included. use terminal app and enter:
su
boost
- adrealine CPU control included and working. may give a few errors but frequencies get changed.

- added task manager app. you don't need it though, just to prevent crashes and reboots when its not there and you press the button from the recent menu.
- re-ported the whole rom.
- all patches for both gio and ace preinstalled.
- contact sync for google account now included. calander isn't, as I don't think it is used as much as contact sync. use the provided patch for that.
- not really visible updates, but much changed though.

Q : Can I install any RAM management script like V6 Supercharger , Slaidyboost , Kickass Kernelizer into this ROM ?
Definitely a big NO because this ROM has my special version of Adrenaline Engine preinstalled.
So installing other RAM management script may conflict with my Adrenaline Engine causing the phone doesn't work as smooth as it should be !

hi Remco, I'm on this rom for a day now and I must say its pretty neat
Appdrawer and launcher work smoothly without any signs of lag at all,
even with 130+ apps installed (on sd-ext of course)
I also like the fact that it comes without too much apps installed,
although there are some (system)apps that should be included.
I.e. the weather/news widget, its such a small file that it would't matter that much for the rom size, of course you shouldn't put it
on the launcher by default because it does drain the battery.
I also noticed that the Google Search widget is included, but the app itself is missing. I know it's easy to install from the Play store but still
The stock FM-radio should also be included for convenience
I will post further comments as I will keep using your rom for a week,
reason for this is the failing camera, any chance for a patch before that time?

well, the failing camera is because u copied the whole rom from mine
the camera lib of ace is different from gio's , and u need a different camera.apk

i know, im not like that....
copied the camera and cameradata from my working beats v5, but theres a strange error...
when you use ace camera.apk it says 5 mp but cant connect, mine gives another error, I'll try it with a complete stock camera.apk..

The bootanimation could take like 15 seconds for it to show. Or while flashing the rom manually wipe the caches instead of using scripts and see if that works. Or probably a bad download? Try those and let me know how it goes.

got it working but did you forget to root this rom...cause my phone is saying its not rooted...???...titanium and root checker both told me so...???

Remember, Gapps Is Already Built Into The Rom... And Keep The Thread Clean Guys And Read The OP Before Anything... Hope Yall Like The Rom And Leave Some Feedback...

I have flashed the rom many times during testing phases and it never said any of that stuff. Superuser, busybox, etc is all in the rom. I have root privileges during each install and i can restore apps, data and etc. I even just checked Root Checker and it said "This device has root access"

the file i downloaded was a corrupted one !
@op : can u upload the kernel.zip so that i can flash it after flashing the rom !
winrar shows me that just the boot.img is corrupted in the zip !

well i guess ill try for the 4th time...i just factory reset...system format...superwipe...flash rom...format cache...reboot (wait 10 mins)...reboot again...cause when i followed the op it wouldnt boot...

6. If you get any strange behaviour reboot to CWM go to Advanced-> Fix Permissions
7. Thats it, Report any bugs and compliment me on my incredible rom ;)[/SIZE]
Instructions for GPS

1. Be sure to check GPS tweak and GPS region and select your region (when installing rom)
2. Go outside be sure the sky is clear and there is no obstruction above you...
3. Enable GPS and (Install) and Open GPSStat
4. Wait for 60 seconds keeping the screen on by tapping it regularly
5. If you do not get a lock in 2-5 minutes try installing the Rogers Modem and try process again
6. Please report your success or failure (I got a lock in about a minute, i live in Canada)

not that i know of , never had that problem .... ull just have to see .... yes for the greater good

I like this ROM, especially the lower lcd density (did you do anything special? android wouldn't boot when I tried to change it myself before) but I think you have been a bit too rigorous with debloating the ROM. For example, there is no calendar or calendarsync, no gallery, no clock/alarm, etc. Could you make there available as installable packages? (or at least provide a zip with all removes apks).
And, if possible, could you (give an option to) remove the provider name from the status bar?

thanks ... no just changed it in build.prop ..... i replaced gallery with quickpic because i think its faster ... was going to add a zip for calender but forgot (i never use it myself) i'll make some more installable zips and attach them ... Ill add that in the next release ... for now you can install my updated 14toggles mod in the general section ...

Thanks! Both zips seem to be working fine. I'd suggest adding the GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk (I managed to restore it from a previous titanium backup) to enable syncing with Google.
Any chance you could add the default keyboard too? The Samsung one doesn't provide a lot of languages unfortunately.

strange it works for me :S .... try it again ... also go into /system/app/ with es file explorer (need to enable root browser in settings) and click on both LatinIme apks ... it should ask to replace application for both ...

I love seeing ROM's for this phone each seems to fit peoples needs good work

Not sure what's going wrong but your suggestions didn't work, even after a full wipe it's still greyed out, but at least it's default state it checked instead of unchecked now, which means I can actually use it. So thanks for your help

This is probably due to the modified DPI. It's very annoying, but for some reason, the Play Store hides about half of the apps I use when using a modified DPI. Maybe a patched version of the Play Store could be included in the ROM?
Anyway, I'm running this ROM for a day now and it's running nice and smoothly and I'm liking the modular idea. I did some toying around restoring a few more APKs myself as I needed them, maybe an idea for more installable packages? (although the VPN one probably won't be used much)

About the ROM
i'm a big lover of the more stock looking Android better known as AOSP. unfortunately, the Google Play Edition is not actual AOSP since it runs on a TW Kernel. for me, though, this is close enough. both of the following ROMs are good bases with little tweaking done. i have made personal changes in each to a few apps as well as removed some google apps that can be downloaded via market. both deodexed by me. enough talk...

there's no root for it yet, but i do have the files. this will get updated to 4.3 but not the leak. i'll wait until Google officially releases it for GE. i believe they had SamMobile pull the link after i snagged it because it likely has bugs. i saw a lot mention their battery was draining fast.

Can't wait for that one. Is there a way to use the hover feature in these roms, because if you type *#0*# in the dialer and press Hover Test it actually works?

yeah it's zippy, man. pretty sure this is the first GE ROM with ausdim's kernel baked in and it fliesssss.
i'm sure there's a way to get the hover features to work since this is still TW. may take some finagling. some mods i tried to add in didn't work like in skinned TW ROM. maybe someone will figure it out.
this ROM will get a couple of updates, maybe. i didn't mean to leave Wallet in. it FC's but even if it didn't FC, it still wouldn't work on our device. i know someone who made their own build and it opens but still says you can't use it.

Thanks man it is wierd how on rhe 4.3 leak Wallet works perfectly without any mods though.

btw luv ur roms, I used ur stock mdl with debloater for the longest when I first got this phone, take it easy and stay up.

It's simply the Rain_Bow MIUI-V7 rom modified to my taste.​

BASED ON: MIUI-V7 build 6.2.27 (Rain_Bow) ---> Based on Touchwiz Rom.
Some mod from: [4] spinacz100 rom
In particular:
- A lot of MIUI themed icons for PlayStore apps.
- Multilanguage at boot (not fully functional, e.g. italian is not selectable)
- Gapps included
- Xperia Keyboard
If you want the standard Rain_Bow rom (MIUI touchwiz) or the Shiro rom (MIUI GPE based), go to [3] flatzki thread and use his instructions for GAPPS and so on (thanks).
~ FEATURES ~
Removed some useless MIUI apps (games, yellowpages, ...)
Gapps included
Multilanguage
Works also with TWRP recovery (others miui roms works only with philz touch recovery)
Changed UI sound (removed that horrible TW blop when touching the screen)
Super responsive!
Great multitasking! (1.3GB free ram on first boot, 700MB are taken for gpu, system, services)

~ TIPS ~
DISABLE SMS DELIVERY STATUS: go to message app, long press menù/recents, click on "Delivery Status" toggle to disable it. (otherwise operator will charge you 2 SMS at every sms you send)
Switch from multitasking with icons to multitasking with previews: do a pinch-to-zoom gesture in multitasking view (menu button).
To grant root permission: open the app that need root permission, will say you have not root access. Now go to "Security" App (MIUI) -> Permissions -> Root Access, and grant root to that app. Now close the app with recents view (swipe up the app) and start it again.
If you restore apps with titanium backup, sometimes MIUI automatically disable permission for some feature (e.g. whatsapp can't see contacts). You have to set permissions from: "Security" App -> Permissions -> Permissions.
Automatically MIUI disable auto-startup for installed apps. Go to "Security" App -> Permissions -> Autostart to grant start at boot for an app.
Automatically MIUI disable the ability to downloads file > 1MB with Mobile Data. To set this gap or disable this feature go to: "Downloads" App -> touch the 3 dot menu -> settings -> Download size limit. (NB: at first boot the "Downloads" App is located in "Tools" folder)
Disable ZRAM or decrease it for better performance and battery life: KernelAdiutor -> VirtualMemory -> ZRAM DiskSize. My advice: 0MB to 350MB, not more. Apply on boot, and enable KernelAdiutor to start at boot with Security App.
Decrease ZRAM swappiness (if you use ZRAM) for better performance and battery life: KernelAdiutor -> VirtualMemory -> Swappiness. My Advice: 1 to 10, not more. (0 will disable ZRAM I think). Apply on boot, and enable KernelAdiutor to start at boot with Security App.
~ MIUI BUGS~
On reboot the date is wrong, but if you are connected to internet it will auto update instantly at boot to the correct date.
[ FIXED BY @ra3 - use this zip to fix in roms from v1 to v4]
Calling with MTP active (PC usb connection) will freeze the phone.
Not all localization are available, for this I included MoreLocale2.apk in the rom. Start this app to select your language (you need to allow root for this app)
Multitasking with preview is buggy: just switch to multitasking with icons (do a pinch out in multitasking view the first time you use it)
MIUI random reboots/bootloops not solved for now Solved Maps random reboot?
~ FAQ~
[Q] Why android 4.4?
[A] MIUI PatchRom is not update to lollipop yet, so MIUI can't be ported to lollipop roms.
[Q] Why should I use a rom based on old android 4.4?
[A] Because this rom is fast, have a lot of free ram also disabling ZRAM, have great battery life, I hope it's stable, have the official touchwiz camera (simply the best camera for S4) and doesn't have that orrible and shocking recents button lag.
As far as I know, Rain_Bow's MIUI is the ONLY rom with touchiwz camera and without recents lag.

Download ROM.
[Optional: flash GNG8 bootloader and modem with Odin]
Wipe data/cache/dalvik-cache in your recovery.

I use Titanium Backup to freeze apps. For now I freezed only: App Store, File explorer (that have an always on service that scan your microSD).
Would like to found in future the removable apps and make a debloated rom (with aroma to install some third part apps more efficents, like quickpic for images/video and Solid Explorer for files).
All helps are appreciated.
