Fonepad 7 - Flash - Asus Fonepad 7

Adobe is as dead as a Dodo. It will not work on 4.2 and up. Only three browsers – Puffin, Photon, Flashfox – support Flash in websites. Adobe Flash Player is not required to be installed for these browsers as they use the cloud to process flash content.
The Dolphin Browser workaround http://www.cyberfreewishes.com/2/pos...link_click_pro will not work on Fonepad 7 - its Jetpack engine won’t install, either direct or side-load.
Firefox Nightly (with the Shumway ext. which is supposed to replace Abode Flash) can’t be used on Fonepad 7 either… it crashes every time it’s opened.

Thanks Man, do You know whats the best browser between these?
About quality of live streaming videos i mean

All three are pretty poor because of the way they process flash streams - Flashfox was cripplingly slow the last time I used it, and I think you still have to subscribe to use Puffin's flash. So I'd go for Photon. I've given up watching Flash sports streams on Fonepad 7 or anything beyond Android 4.0 - too much frustration.

HTML5 (videos) on Note 2

I wanted to be able to view web pages on Note 2 just like I can on iPad. I downloaded Dolphin HD browser, tried changing User Agent to iPad / Nexus 7 /iPhone. I have been disappointed with overall experience. When I change the User Agent to Nexus 7, I can see full CNN page, but when I click on Videos, it says I need Adobe. I can run videos when using iPad UA, but the quality is mediocre. Is there a way to surf the internet like you can on iPad? View full websites and run videos?

if you need adobe flash player then install it? iphone doesn't have flash i'm pretty sure. so your overall experience will be 100 times better on android also, dolphin hd browser does NOT support flash. you'll need to use the mini dolphin or the stock browser to view things in flash. most sites still don't seem to support HTML5. i've seen very few. oh and jelly bean doesn't have official flash support, but it still works perfectly.
so google how to side-load flash player. if you don't know how. problem solved.

What I'm trying to get at is, if iPad/iPhone can convert and play that video in HTML5, why can't an Android device play it if I change user agent to that of an Android tablet. I don't want flash. Just want to be able to play videos from full-websites, not mobile sites.
A example of site were you have this problem?

CNN full site. Try running any video. It only renders videos in mobile version of the site, in full version it displays Flash installation message.

Just download adobe flash from adobe's own website and it'll work fine. I can confirm it works on my ipad 3 as html 5.

I did download flash and it is workable, lil choppy but I guess I will take it. Not as smooth as on the iPad.
Also, I went to a Staple store yesterday and checked out couple of Android tablets including Nexus 7 and ran into the same situation on all tablets. I went to CNN, it opened full page, but when I clicked on the video, it presented Adobe message. Download Dolphin, then it works in HTML5, but a little grainy. This is something that just works on the iPad natively in HTML5
I noticed that you mentioned that you use Dolphin browser. I've noticed that the performance of the Dolphin on the Note 2 is less than good IMO, especially compared to stock. I would recommend trying Boat Browser instead, and just run flash. It's much better that way.

Much better! And the browser is free, I will take it. Thanks. Boat Browser + Flash apk puts me in the ballpark where I don't have to reach out for my iPad. :good:

Im using slim rom which uses the aosp browser.
Every time i open a flash site i get "Browser isn't responding".
Mayne ill give cm a try. I was gonna check out carbon and PA also.
I have no problem viewing full desktop flash websites with Adobe Flash Player 11.1.115.69 and Dolphin Browser + Jetpack. To increase the browsing smoothness even more, I have my device overclocked to 1.6GHz and set the CPU Governor to Performance and Tegra 3 Quiet Governor to Userspace so all 4 cores will be on 100% of the time locked at maximum overclock frequency.

Sounds like a bunch of wasted battery and overall tablet life to browse the internet...
I have mine set to 1.1 and interactive.
Browsing is smooth as ever and i get almost 7 hours screen on time everyday.
The only problem i have is the browser isnt reaponding message which is a flash issue.
I get it using every flash enabled browser only when i pull up a flash site.
Good apps:
Root explorer
Superuser
TricksterMOD
AOSP Browser
Flash Player
FL Studio
Tapatalk
Hangouts
Pandora
Titanium Backup
Droid Papers
DatPiff Mobile
Clean Master
Greenify
ReScan Media Root

When connected to a power source plus I have it undervolted by 50mV. Otherwise I found Conservative with Runnable for 1-2 cores active works alright. The CPU temperature reaches 75 degrees celsius under overclocked heavy load although I'm not too concerned about "overall tablet life".

Why not try firefox beta and latest flash apk. I'm running on SmoothRom and have had no issues.

Firefox beta is really good I prefer it over aosp browser, Firefox beta seems to never crash or force to to close it, aosp browser does that to me a lot

I've tried aosp, Firefox, naked, opera, puffin, boat, maxathon, dolphin, Uc, photon, ninesky, floating, skyfire, lightning, galaxy, xscope, and exsoul.
I've tried about 10 versions of flash just to make sure it wasn't that.
And I've also tried pulling the aosp browser from cm9 to see if that would somehow work... (Knowing it wouldnt but I was desperate)
I'm on cm right now and its working fine ATM.
Thanks tho.
Edit: no, its not. Im going to try FF Beta again tonite but i think im done after this. Fckin sucks.

Amazon Streaming Video

Looks like Amazon wasn't supporting Android smartphones. I'm not sure if it's changed. I saw a youtube video on how to make it work but it seems to no longer be effective.
Is anyone able to watch Amazon streaming videos with a standard unrooted etc android device?
I think you can watch them in any browser that supports flash. I believe the stock browser and Dolphin work.
I downloaded Dolphin but it won't run Amazon streaming video. It results in an error code.

I don't think Dolphin supports flash anymore. You can install Boat browser for flash content. You need to install flash separately, and enable it in Boat browser settings. Then you can watch Amazon videos through Boat browser.

Thanks, I downloaded Boat but still no go. Looks like there's no flash support beyond android 4.0.x.

Google Play won't download the flash player for current Android devices. Looks like there's other ways to download flash...
http://www.ghacks.net/2013/07/29/how-to-install-and-use-flash-player-on-your-android-device/
Yes, you have to install it separately and not from Google Play. Search xda, I'm sure you will find a link to the file. It works on Android 4.3, I tried streaming with my N7 and can confirm. Don't worry about the threads saying it won't work, that was an old issue of Amazon doing something to exclude android devices, they no longer do that.
Don't forget to enable flash in boat browser once you install it. It is not enabled by default!

How to enable Flash in my AFTV?

I installed Firefox, Chrome and AdobeFlash in my AFTV. However, my flash videos are not working. Is there any setting that missing?
Really appreciate the help
Thanks

Try again after rebooting with ctrl+alt+delete.
Did you get the latest/last Android flash version from the adobe archives page?
Make sure the plugin setting is not disabled entirely.
After a while, video based actions fail completely for some odd reason until I restart my device.
This problem makes all forms of YouTube, and all SWF and flash player related videos fail to work.
Get an swf player app and an swf file like Ultimate Sonic Flash to test it with if you wish.

This worked for me. Can't get perfectly smooth video unfortunately, but it's still good.
That version does not work in offline swf players (blue lego block).
Get the official version from the adobe archive page by scrolling down to it.
helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
It is made for 4.0 ICS,but it works on Fire TV with 4.2.2 JellyBean.
Thank you all for your reply. I installed Puffin which fulfilled my requirement.

[Q] stream/xbmc torrent crashing.... alternatives?

im using stickmount to mount my 1tb hard drive. opening stream and xbmc plays the movie for about 10 mins (tried ninja turtles, frozen, and 22 jump street) and then just returns to the stream / xbmc torrent screen to select another movie. if i select the same movie or a different one, it will load, but then just crash the whole OS (reboot)
any fixes to this? or any alternatives ?
im using SPMC, latest version (kodi wouldnt work with this app)
I've posted a few reports for this in the past, I too would like an alternative for these addons.
As far as I know, both projects are dead.
A speculation was made in the last post about a possible reason for the crash.
There is a new fork called Pulsar, no Android version available yet but I think they are working on it...
Ahh Thank you. It's a shame. This add-on works perfect on pc
