I think that is because KitKat has different sdcard path. Check if your recovery has the option to change the default path.
If it hasn't this option you have 2 chance: push the ROM using adb command or recover all system using kdz (but after this you need to reunlock the bootloader).

Thanks for your helps, I could finally solve the issue with another ways.
I was using my camera and taking picture and because of under volting it crashed while saving picture, so this crash make sdcard inaccessible! I try flashing TWRP recovery by ADB, but TWRP also couldn't access sdcard, again I came back to CWM recovery by ADB.
CWM has an erase (format) sdcard function, so I had to format my internal sdcard to make it accessible again. After formatting I lost all of my data but my sdcard works again.
Then I push a zip file rom by ADB with following command: adb push rom.zip /sdcard/
and flash it with by recovery and now my phone is running as well as before
I also should thank @MiZrY for his useful helps :good:

Is it rfs+ext4 variant of CWM? I remember switching to extonly after such issues. There's also a flashable ZIP around that formats everything - gio-all2ext4.
You can try.
Hi, i have flashed that .zip but the situation is the same... help please!!!
Maybe you could try v. 5.0.2.6. Everything works fine for me. Further ive no idea what to do :s

its in the cm7.1(!) thread, there you can still download px-cwm-v2.zip, it is v5.0.2.6
here it is:
http://www.mediafire.com/?p7r2bcn9447bpc8
however this version may give problems too, as this is the changelog from cwm v2:
Code:
New CWM v2
special thx to ZimniY
fix error mount command
remove rfs support
but also :
Code:
Based on particle's CWM Recovery, only add ext4 support for system, data & cache
\
but this one is working for me fine too, only sometimes after going from ext4 to rfs it gives problems, then flash 5.0.2.7 with ext4+rfs support..

Hi when i try "wipe data" or "format /data" i recive this error:
Wiping data...
Formatting / data...
Error mounting /data!
Skipping format...
I have tryed restore, i recive
E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/stl13
I can replace the file stl13 with that of a nexus S with ADB?
why? i have a CWM 5.0.2.7
Stock recovery and stock ROM are installed when you flash with Odin.
Files and folders in /dev are symbolic - they are created with Linux kernel's and services' startup. They cannot be copied and transferred.
Are you trying to restore ext4-based ROM within rfs+ext CWM? My experience says it's better to install ext-only CWM if you're going back to ext-based ROM.
Hi! i have CWM ext + rfs but i tryed flash ROM with Odin but don't work!
When i finish the flash ROM stock, i have connected my phone using ADB.
I have run:
"adb shell"
"cd system"
"ls -la"
but it's empty...
/data is empty ...
Why?
After you flash stock with Odin, "update" get's installed (the screen with opened paper box) and then it's stuck at bootlogo, you have to turn it off (quickest way: pull the battery off the phone) and turn it on in recovery mode (home + power button) and clean both data and cache to be sure. Then after reboot, stock will run.
If you want to switch back to ext-based ROM, install ext-only CWM (it will complain at startup about not being able to mount /cache), format all partitions (besides /sdcard and /sd-ext if you used it), mount /system and restore from backup.
It has to work.
Download CWM from phiexz - ext-only flashable from Odin.
I can't wipe data. I recive error:
E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/stl13
i have flash recovery ext only but i haven't solved
What have you exactly done that you messed it up so hard?
Tell me each thing you did. From the first, when you were still running stock.
I have flashed AOKP for Gio... it's OK... but after 30 minutes i have flashed a kernel...
i have run: wipe davlik and wipe cache partition...reboot and the phone goes in loop in the initial screen
I don't remember name of kernel... "delano-aokp-kernel"
Partition / data I think it is damaged
...
Quite strange to me what happenned. There are metods to repartition internal storage using GNU parted. I haven't ever tried it. I can't help you here. I only suspect something has tampered in partition table.

[Q] Unable to push files to sdcard after bootloop

I have been busy today with a nasty problem, i hope you anyone can help me out.
I was running JDROID's custom rom with great satisfaction, had it backupped. The trouble started when i downloaded an other rom and forgot to place the rom (.zip) on my sdcard before i flashed the boot.img via flashboot.
By that time i didnt knew how to use ADB commands, so i decided that i would forget about the new rom and i would restore my working backup. (im using CWM)
After restoring that backup a bootloop occured, so tried lots of things like wiping the cache. Also ive tried to restore the backup after lots of full wipes ect. Even installing JDROID's latest rom witch i had on my sdcard dindt help. Still had a bootloop.
I managed to use ADB when my phone was switched off, and i pushed a rom.zip to sdcard. But CWM cant seem to find it.
My question is this: in CWM there is an option to "mount USB storage". When i use it i get the message "unable to open ums lunfile". I have tried formatting the sdcard, whereby i deleted my backups still didnt work.
What whould you guys try next?
relock the bootloader and run an ruu appropriate to your cid

[Q] gt18160- adb pull sdcard file permission problem!

Hello lovely android people,
I am a newbie, so im guessing this probably isnt the right place to post this type of question. Please feel free to guide me to the right place.
So the question...
I rooted my galaxy ace2 (gt18160) and install Pimp My Rom app from the market. Did some changes with it and now the phone wont start up, stuck in the bootloop where the logo appears and it does not go anywhere from there.
Ive been researching for solution since yesterday, and found out that I could re-flash the firmware using o2 stock using odin.(although im not quite sure this is a correct solution)
Since there's a possibility of all the data getting deleted, I want to get some files out of the device using ADB pull.
I used adb shell to look for the files I need. At first I could see the sdcard in the root directory / but could not access it without su. After doing su command I can go inside the sdcard directory (where my files are), but it appears to be empty.
ls -l /mnt lists the sdcard with unusual d--------- permission.
Im stuck and dont know how I can grab my files from the sdcard folder.
any suggestion will help.:cyclops:
Thanks
mnt/sdcard is only a symlink to storage/sdcard0 (mount for the internal sdcard) so it does make sense that adb can't cope with that path.
Still, it is impossibibble to delete stuff from either of your sdcards via odin or recovery. Flashing via odin doesn't wipe the data partition either, so as ong as u select the right firmware for our phones, nothing can go wrong really
Thanks for your reply Carpe-Dimi.
after checking /prop.partiitons, it seems that sdcard hasnt been mounted.
The problem now is that there are 18 partitions and I dont know which is the sdcard?
I tried mounting the first mmcblk0. Give me the 'device or resource busy' error.
Excuse my arrogance but I would have liked to find out why I cant access the sdcard or why I cant mount the partitions.
...and thanks again for letting me know that flashing does not wipe the data. :good:
SOLVED!
As Dimi said, flashing does not wipe data partition. But I was able to recover my files in recovery mode as it automatically mounted the mmcblk0p8 partition.
Then installed stock firmware.... tried new jelly bean, then went back to stock as its slow and laggy.
Cheers

Xperia S with root unmounted sdcard

Hi all,
I have a rooted nozomi device with nAOSP 5.1 rom and TWRP 2.8.7.0. Everything worked fine until today morning, when i realised that Internal sdcard was unmounted. I checked ES File Explorer (with root access granted) and it says scared empty and then switches to sdcard unmounted message. First I thought it was something like a soft bug, so made soft reboot. Then I made full reboot of the system and still had the same issue.
Then I rebooted into recovery and checked the partitions - internal sdcard was ticked as mounted. Checked the partition details and everything seemed fine - formatted as vfat and size displayed.
Tried untick and tick the mount option and reboot - not resolved.
Tried to repair partition and reboot - not resolved
So I decided to refer to xda to find some advise, before formatting the sdcard completely.
Do you have any ideas on the matter of this issue and how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance

I followed the steps in other post, but result as follows:
chown -R 1023.1023 /sdcard -operation not permitted.
chmod -R 770 /sdcard completed
After reboot into system - issue remained. Maybe I did something wrong? I just used root directory and pressed Select in Terminal of TWRP.
Repeat it again like they said. I didn't try it.

I tried these commands several times with no changes - still no permission for chown -R 1023.1023. Reading the referral thread further it seems that problem is cause by stericson BusyBox app update I installed it long time ago just for Titanium backup to work. Yesterday I uninstalled it and cleaned Dalvik Cache in Recovery. Problem still not resolved.
I wonder if there are any other steps I could perform, before flashing the Rom again?
P.S. Now I don't see any point in formatting the SD card partition, since it is seen in Recovery and all files appear intact there.
Solved for me...after I did clean flash of another ROM ..

Problems after Updates and Wipes

Hi,
my G3 and me have a small problem.
I wanted to update from official Cyanogenmod 12.1 to 13.0, backed up my data, etc.
First, there were tno Problems, but very fast battery drainage, and that my mSD card was now not "sdcard1" anymore but some numbers.
I tried fixing permissions in TWRP, had a bootloop. Updated TWRP (now 3.0.0 installed) and it worked somehow.
After one night it said process.acore quit unexpectedly. I had some crashes of the Google Play Services as well.
Then, it would boot, give me like 10 Seconds, and then jump to the boot screen of Cyanogenmod.
I tried to wipe data, system, dalvik. First there were problems with wiping dalvik, then there were problems with wiping system.
It says can't mount system: invalid argument. When looking around with twrp file explorer, the system folder is empty.
I would really appreciate your help!
You must check the partition type. Check if this as Ext4 or f2fs. In any case, try to repair the system of partitions from TWRP.
Okay, so:
Filesystem of /system is ext4
When trying to fix:
Repairing System using ef2fsck....
/sbin/e2fsck -fp /dev/block/mmcblk0p40 process ended with ERROR: 8
Unable to repair file system.
I assume it's because its ext4 and not f2fs?
btw I found something that may be important: when I try to wipe /cache, it takes forever.

Try to reinstall cyanogedmon 12.1 without wipes. Then, you enter again to the recovery and apply the wipes. I am not sure if for our model, cyanogedmon is compatible with the type of partitions f2fs and if is required a kernel with support for f2fs file system. You could try to changing the partitions (file system to f2fs), installing the rom and see if it starts but could cause a boot loop. Make a nandroid before making any changes.

Okay,
when trying to install the latest Snapshot of official CM, it just says ZIP File is corrupt. It said the same about an older build I still had on my PC.
When I try to flash the CM 13.0 build i had previously, TWRP just goes black and reboots (into recovery).
I also have to manually mount /system every time. If I try to mount /system again after dismounting it, it says 'failed to mount /system : Invalid Argument' .
This applies to all other partitions but the external SD Card.
When I try to change the file system to f2fs, it says OPeration successfull, but it didn't change anything, and the file system keeps being displayed as ext4.
Furthermore, i can't just 'Reboot Recovery' with TWRP- I have to take ot the Battery every time.

Which is your recovery version? If your recovery version is 3.0, you could try performing a downgrade of your recovery. If the errors persist, make an clean installation of the rom from LG Flash Tool (KDZ).

My Version is indeed 3.0. I had 2.8 before. Should I downgrade even further?
What would you recommend?
Besides:
I tried saving my files with the Terminal and [cp * /data/data/media/ /external_sd/Backup -r] and others, but it keeps giving me Zero-Byte Files.
Is this due to the Recovery version too?
You guys really are a big help! Thanks!

I think that you try to save an empty folder. Use any backup applications to accomplish this. I have installed recovery twrp version 3 and I have no problem.

Ok but doing it woth cp * /sdcard/WhatsApp it keeps doing the same.
The only thing that matters to me now are my WhatsApp Images
I was able to grab the chatlogs but not more.
Sometimes it even copies all pictures (Like 8.000 files) but all of them are 0-Bytes.
I will try the downgrade tomorrow.
Thank you so far!
Were you able to resolve this? I have an identical issue. I was playing CoC on my LS990 with CM13 before it went black and now it always boots in to twrp recovery 3.0. The only thing that mounts is the external sd card.
I've tried the following and all fail:
adb push cm13 and then install from recovery
adb sideload cm13
lg flash tool via firmware upgrade, roms:ZV4, ZV6, ZV8
Is the internal sd damaged? Please help XDA gods. Thanks
