Good case for different types of headphone jacks? - Nexus 5 Accessories

I'm looking into a case that can take right angled, or thicker headjacks (e.g. ATH-M50s). I need some help from anyone willing
Here's my preferences:
Slim
Fully enclosed (e.g. not back only cases)
No hybrid cases (or at least ones that attract crazy amount of lint)
Soft matte rubber on the sides/around the phone
Black color
Price isn't a big deal as long as its a good fit. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info. I don't have a drill bit but I'll look into that. Anyone else have any cases that can fit different headjacks?

Thanks. I was looking at reviews on amazon for this case, but someone actually mentioned they do not work my ATH-150s. I ordered Spigen ultra fit and it looks like those are the only ones that work.

I might buy THIS ONE next week. You might want to look into it. I'm currently using the spigen neo-hybrids with Dunu DN-1000 and they fit perfectly. My only complaint with the case is that they add about 2x the actual bezels of the nexus 5, which sometimes create an illusion that my screen is small, or my phone is huge.

yes..I was disappointed too ..
I have the toughcase and it fits my gsm nexus like a glove with no gaps at all. I didnt find another version for the verizon nexus. I ordered mine from htcpedia.com and they told me they contacted casemate but couldnt get an answer. The i515 is a tad thicker so i would think this should fit the 9250 but might not be perfect. Im not sure about the popcase.
My casemate pop is sitting in my closet waiting to go up on ebay. It's very protective but the charging port doesn't fit most chargers and is Very hard to take off, also the glossy plastic is a scratch magnet. I tried to like it but these issues are unacceptable

I used a drill bit to open up a hole for the backside microphone that was covered, and a file to widen the USB opening, so that I can use it with a car charger. Since it works well with the GSM extended battery, I prefer the tactile button action over the other 7 cases I have (cruzerlie, diztronic, case mate tough, silicrilic, rock, otterbox commuter, generic TPM).

Shouldn't need to drill a case to make it work. It should be working out of the box.
I've never been a fan of the Pop Case. It's either, barely there or tough case for me.
I had a Pop case for the Nexus S and it was a awful experience. I had the back creak because I was trying to push the phone out of the case too hard by accident.

Can you post some pics I was thinking the same thing, but with a large heated pin or something like that.
Do you all think we can make some kind of petition to case-mate for a swap, after all its not a cheap case and they could have fix this issues in the factory ?

Question about SGP ultra hybrid. Need good lte case.

I currently have the Verizon incipio case and the seidio active. The Verizon case turned a gross color from my jeans and the seidio case attracts so much dirt and dust and pulls it all into the case that it actually scratched my phone. Is the ultra hybrid better on these aspects? I'd be getting the white one. I just don't want another case that actually pulls dirt into itself scratching the phone.

Hmmm paranoia I've been reading reviews that it doesn't even fit the vzw? Also idk if anyone can chime in on the longer term dust issue I really don't wanna buy my third $25 case and have another dust magnet messing my phone up.
Maybe I should look into an ultra capsule to avoid dust magnetic effect... Hmmm just need some feedback

Personally I got the sgp hybrid white one and right away was not happy with, I mean yeah it will fit on a CDMA version, but not perfect at all, were talking about that it feels like its gonna pop out of the case if you drop it or pull it out of your pocket.
I am a picky person and I didn't not like feel of it on my phone, of course I should of known that when. The seller stated is was only made for GSM version.
Since my experience with I wouldn't recommend it, speciality since its pretty pricey.
PS. Sorry for grammar

Sorry I didn't respond away bud, well after buying the sgp ultra case white, I should of learned my lesson but didn't lol.
I bought the Neo hybrid sgp white and I came out bad on my LTE Gnex in the end, it will fit with the standard battery but you will have to play around with it(stretching ). But the more time with it, it will get loose and you won't have a good feel. So regardless how sexy it looks, I recommend staying away from it.
I recommend the ringke slim extended battery case for a very slim feel and look (plus has covers for headphone jack and charging port)
And recommend the diztronic revision 3 tpu case which fits all around the case and has cutouts for everything.
Once again sorry for my grammar...

Does your case fold back flat against the back?

I have the blurex also and the front cover does fold flat against the back cover. Of course it won't lay flat on the table because of the clasp, which is facing the table in that position, however the front and back covers are flat against each other.

Actually they aren't. I have both cases.
Both are excellent cases IMO.
The MoKo is slightly larger in all dimensions, maybe 10-15mm. The Blurex just feels slimmer and stealthier as a result, however the MoKo has better coverage on the edges with less exposure.
The MoKo is heavier than the Blurex making it feel a little bit sturdier.
The Blurex first tilt position allows the tablet to be more vertical since the slot starts immediately at the end of the handhold. The MoKo first slot starts around 3/4" after the hand hold.
The material in the MoKo is soft-touch and the Blurex is more traditional grained.
Like I said, both are great cases. If I just saw them side-by-side, I would probably choose the MoKo, but after using them a few days, I prefer the lighter thinner Blurex especially when I started using the tilt feature, where the more vertical position resulted in a better angle for where I was using it.

Thanks for the clarification. I had a Blurex for the 2012 N7, and does seem a small bit thinner. Either way, it's nice to have some cheap but good cases to choose from.

i also purchased the blurex and mine looks different. It has the same problem as the Poetic as the front does not fold flat against the back. it also did not come with the strap. I'm sending it back in favor of the moko ultra slim.
This makes me wonder who the true manufacturer of all these cases is.
The Moko does fold flat against the back, fyi.

The hit or miss part is on the tablet/software side, which is causing the issues.
The case works fine, both the MoKo and the Blurex.

Is it because the device is in a deep sleep? I think I have the wifi set to always turn off during sleep and this might be causing the magnet feature to not work.

It is possible, I used to work around it by turning on Bluetooth, but now I just remember the first time in the morning I need to use the power button, then after that it is ok the rest of the day.
I know the issue is in software so it'll probably get fixed one day and if not, I am not going to lose any sleep over it.

[CASE] Spigen Ultra Hybrid or Rearth Ringke Fusion ?

Hello, i have my Nexus 5 but i have a little question.
In your opinion, what is the best case :
http://www.spigen.com/nexus-5-case-ultra-hybrid.html
or
http://www.rearthusa.com/google-nexus-5-hybrid-fusion-case
I have already looking for these case on forum but i dont find good or bad comment.
What do you think?
Ignoring the 87 other posts regarding these 2 cases. I have the Rearth. It's nice. Doesn't fit perfectly with dbrand skin and xoskin says more good about tolerances than bad.

I have the Spigen Ultra Hybrid.
I don't like how it makes your phone feel bulky and too big to fit in my pocket. It also weakens the magnetic pull of my InfiniApps Slyde CD Mount due to the clear plastic backing being really thick.
On the plus side, makes it feel like your phone is a tank and can take any drop.
Thanks you
+1 for the Spigen Ultra Hybrid!! Just got it today. Love the feel of it. Love the look of it. Definitely recommend this case. If only I got it a few days ago before I dropped my nexus and cracked my screen...

You'll like the fusion, then. The button feel is perfect.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I was trying to decide between the two as well and ended up with the Fusion because of the button feel and being slightly thinner. I'm pretty happy with it so far, the button feel is the best of any case where there aren't cutouts for the buttons that I've ever used. Only one small complaint is that the edges of the case are kind of sharp but it really isn't bothering me that much.
I have the Ringke Fusion. I had it for my N4 as well which I liked so I figured I'd get the N5 version. Overall a pretty good case, although like cee-ach said the edges of the case are kind of sharp (wasn't like this on the N4). It's a bit annoying for me, mainly because I use LMT launcher, and when I swipe from the right edge of the screen my thumb always makes contact with the edge of the case.
I haven't tried the Ultra Hybrid but I ordered it a couple of days ago. Kinda wishing I ordered the Spigen Slim Armor instead.
Got myself the Ringke Fusion Hybrid Hard Case. Extremely light while also providing a high level of protection from bad drops and scratches. Definitely worth the $13. The only issue I have is that just below the power button side, the casing seems to be slightly loose although that didn't make any difference to the protection provided by the item itself.
Anyone else having the same issue? Any way to fix it?
My review score: 8.5/10
Would have given a 9 if not for this minor issue but it doesn't take away much
Does the ringke fusion fit snug? I heard that the spigen ultra hybrid is a bit loose and dust will collect inside the case.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
I ended up getting the Ringke Fusion and I love it. It's very thin and light. Compared to my other case (Spigen Slim Armour), the Fusion feels more "naked" (as if I wasn't using a case). So far I've been using the Fusion a lot more now that I tried them both for a week.
Just wanted to add I've been using a Fusion Hybrid because it has solved an annoyance for me. Case-less my N5 was vibrating violently at high speaker volumes and that has completely disappeared since using the tightly fitted Fusion. Also my Shure earphones fit just fine so for those reasons I'd recommend the case.
It does have a bit of edging work that isn't 100% smooth and the headphone slot has a gap which can let in dust at the back. However that is probably why headphones fit properly.

You're right about the buttons. They are perfect. However, the rest of the case, I'm not too impressed. I have the same complaint as others about the sharp edges. It's really uncomfortable to hold it to your ear. I may try the sandpaper to knock down the edge a bit. I like that the USB port does not have a gap to the inside of the clear back but still wondering why the headphone jack does. Overall, not bad at all for an $8 case.
If Spigen fixed the buttons on the Ultra, I'd be back on that case in an instant.

I own both and they're both essentially identical, but if I had to choose it would be the Spigen because it's slightly better. I don't use either of these however.. I miss my UAG case and the closest thing to it that I could find was the Spigen Slim Armor.

My experience is quite the opposite. I wasn't happy with neither of two cases mentioned in this thread and I'm now using the slim armor. Not sure I agree with you on the "nakedness" and the slim armor basically adds no more bulk to the phone than the other cases do... I definitely feel a lot more comfortable with the slim armor case since it's not slippery.
