@shoey63
Is it working on your device ? Is it also C6502 or other
I see what you did in the new kernel , you changed the recovery-ramdisk .
I tried that too with others from CM 10.2 and CM11.0 kernels but no luck.
The phone boots.....vibrates & purple LED appears......i press vol-up several times....phones boots into the homescreen.
Everything works fine but the CWM window never appears.
Thats why i'm asking you again where did you get the kernel source ? I cannot find it on sony developer world

I flashed stock ftf before flashing the kernel so there were no mods interfering with the kernel.

Did you try to boot into recovery via adb?
adb reboot recovery
So you can test if it is a general problem with recovery or with pressing keys in.the boot process.
When I had a recovery on my phone (I currently don't have one, and it had not been this recovery kernel by shoey) I was only able to boot into it via adb or the app X-Parts.

[Q] How to boot to recovery?

Hey peeps - another annoying n00b question (sorry)
I have the Doom v3 kernel and stock 2.3.3
Just want to know how I can boot into recovery so I can install a ROM zip?
I have tried every combination of buttons on startup including Power then tapping and holding Back and I cant get into recovery mode.
Please help i really want to try the GingerStation rom
Turn device off. When off press the power button once, then start tapping any hardware button untill device boots into recovery. You can also try doomlords xCharge app from the market.
Sorry i havent been very active in the forums recently. I will be updating rom soon with some cool features and a new name

AFAIK you have to boot into recovery the standard way. Like the person above described. Once you do that CWM creates a directory in /cache called "recovery" then xCharge works fine

No, it's completely stock, I've read I have to flash a file in recovery, I've got it, but I don't know how to reboot in recovery with button combination.
To get cwm, root using doomlords easy toolkit, search development
Then install this app and click install: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pvy.CWMinstaler
After you have installed that, boot on your phone, and when you see the sony ericsson screen, repeatedly tap volume down until you get into cwm
WOW! It's very easy this way, thanks a lot
Another quick question, now bootloader is unlocked?
Can I flash any custom roms like any other device? (flash in recovery mode)
Thanks again.
That way i showed is to install CWM with a LOCKED bootloader.
This will allow you to flash STOCK based roms, no others
This is not unlocking bootloader, just getting CWM
If you want to unlock your bootloader, you have to go to the sony website or pay to unlock it
Oh, so I can't flash CM roms, but I can with stock based, right?
I knew about Sony website, but I though there was other ways to have the bootloader unlocked.
Well, thank you a lot, now I have to find a good stock based rom.

-Added official theme for 1080x1920 portrait devices (HTC One m7, HTC DNA, HTC Butterfly, Oppo Find 5, Sony Xperia Z, etc)

-Fixed a problem with md5 verification of backups
-Added a search function to libtar (thanks to kokotas)
-Improve handling of XML errors (fix permissions)
-Fixed handling of subpartitions
-Improvements to recovery.fstab flags

- Updated to .434 fw version

- Fixed layout (may be small errors, but I needed to create a complete new mayout for 1080x1920)

Yup and with CWM, I'd press the volume up button when I saw the purple LED. But doing that didn't do anything when I flashed TWRP. Does it matter if I had CWM installed previously?
Is it possible to get it working on LOCKED bootloaders also??? I know I will unlock eventually but I still currently don't want to let go of the Bravia Engine 2
Thanks

[Q] How to enter Recovery Mode on Ion

Hey, I have a friend with a Sony Xperia Ion (as identified by my computer) she's locked out of it; someone else tried to figure out her pattern and entered it more than 20 times. As far as I know, she doesn't know her secret question or her google account information, either.
My plan to try to bypass the pattern lock is to use AROMA file manager to delete the gesture.key file in /data/system, hopefully that'll remove the pattern lock. So here are my questions:
How can I mount the filesystem on USB to transfer AROMA to her SD?
How can I get into recovery mode to flash AROMA?
The second one is what I really don't get. How does recovery mode work on the Xperia Ion? I can't seem to get it to boot into recovery. Everything I've tried (Hold volume up/volume down/both while powering on) still causes the phone to boot normally.
Did you flash recovery before? If yes you may have to rap SONY logo 5-6 times while booting to get in to recovery or press volume + button 5-6 times while booting. Remember Sony phones do not have stock recovery. You have to flash custom recovery.
And I know another way to remove lock code. Just flash stock ftf. But are you going to loose all the apps.

[Q] PLAY bricked?

Hi, so I tried to flash (using fastboot) DooMsKernel v14, it all looked nice and good,
but after that I tried to restart/enter recovery mode, and nothing happened.
My PLAY only reacts to power button by vibrate, and can enter to fastboot.
I tried to flash it again and flash another ROM (CM9), nothing worked.
Any help please?
Its fairly impossibly to brick the play. Since it can get into fastboot bootloader must be unlocked flash both kernel and Rom to stock.

Most custom Roms are prerooted, so if you're going to install one anyway, you don't have to root your Play manually.
If you can't flash .ftf through flashtool, you could try another download source, had a similar problem a few months ago, many downloads simply didn't work. And using another USB port on my computer fixed my problem with the flash process getting stuck while flashing with flashtool, was strange, but solved the problem.
By the way, if this .238 is android 2.3.4 it probably can't be rooted, if you want stock rom with root you have to downgrade to 2.3.3
So is it qorking yet?

Well, I'm rooted with .238, but my problem is that google apps don't work - it tries to download apps and then stop the ddownload, without any error (Every app)..
So I thought I would try to install a costum ROM, problem is - I cant install recovery.. Tried a few methods, all didn't work.. 2 option, either I didn't succeed on download and installing the recovery, or I can't boot into it..

Z1 Compact boot loop..

I have a problem with my Z1 Compact..
I followed this guide: http://dottech.org/147609/how-to-root-sony-xperia-z1-compact-on-android-4-3-jelly-bean-guide/
And after I have flashed the DoolLordkernel (fastboot flash boot boot.img) the phone is stuck in a bootloop. Normally i would just remove the battery - but this is not possible on the Z1 Compact..
So how do I get it out of bootloop? so i can get it into fastboot and flash a proper kernel/boot.img ?

what did you do after you turned it off?!
i am indefinitely stuck in a bootloop :crying:
Did someone manage to get out of this? I'm also in a boot loop after flashing boot.img. Even though I switch the phone off by the red reset button, whenever I try to turn the device on it goes again into the boot loop...
Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

Phew!! I got it working again!
Thanks God I diddn't need to go through that hassle after all (I mean: getting a stock firmware and flashing). I just flashed Z1c_DooMLoRD_AdvStKernel_FW-757_v04.img, which is a boot.img, and the phone booted again.
Now, may I please humbly swear a bit to whomever put out there a boot.img for the Xperia Z1 compact, that bricks the Xperia Z1 compact? If someone's interested, I closely followed the instructions from this link http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_amami and I run into a boot loop after flashing the boot.img included in cm-11-20140504-SNAPSHOT-M6-amami. So, be careful if someone wants to flash this rom.
Did you use the right version of the boot image file for your phone?
Don't forget that cm11 is still in development for these phones. There is no stable version yet.
