[List][bootanimation] Custom Bootanimations

1st let me tell you what and all required for a custom bootanimation.
You must have a ROOTED device.
A root file manager such as ROOT EXPLORER
Custom bootanimation of your choice
15-20 minutes of time
and importantly PATIENCE
if you have all these then proceed to the next step
Download any of you favorite Bootanimation from here or from any other thread/site
How to add:
You need root and CWM Recovery.
If you need the stock bootanimation then make a back up of that using RootExplorer
Copy the bootanimation to your SD Card.
Rename to bootanimation.zip -If the zipfile has any other name plz rename it to "bootanimation.zip" , without quotes
With root explorer or any other app that allows you to get to /system/media
Copy the bootanimation .zip into /system/media and replace it with the stock one (remember to mount R/W)
And Finally set permissions to rw--r--r--
Should Look something like this

All Bootanimations are of 320x480 size , so will support GIO

If working on gio, it will on ace too.
Just make sure the requirements are met.(root acces, kernel supporting it)

Maybe a real stupid question, but hey, I'm a noob.
To change the bootanimation, you have to change it in the zip file of your rom. Or am I wrong?
But is it possible to change it, without re-installing the rom?

It is placed at system/media and called bootanimation.zip.
Use a file browser with root acces on your phone to move the bootanim you want(from SD) to /system/media and replace it. Dont forget to set permissions or you wont see it

Yes I've changed them. There is one thing. When I go to system/media there was no bootanimation.zip
I have this files in my system/media folder:
-bootsamsung.qmg
-bootsamsungloop.qmg

Yes. Never changed the ROM on this device just some updates on the Firmware.

Tried the nexus first, it works... Will try the rest later.

The good thing about the softkeyz app is it allows for unique combinations. Eg-

boot into recovery, either through fastboot or boot straight to recover using adb (adb reboot recovery) and flash the zip. You must be running a custom recovery like TWRC or CWM.

If you want i can take my motion.app file and upload it so you can install over yours but you will need root permissions.

Since I installed "KangVIP" my phone always trying to install some apps! A browser, a cleaning-tool and something else - stuff I definitely not want!

Does that really work? I tried to apply a darker theme and I have been having problems from the start.
I can select new themes but once I click 'apply' nothing changes.
While trying to find a solution I deleted the default themes.
Does someone have a zip with the 'magazine' theme?

What about GMaps?

Instaled your B709 package and the kernel, without problems and the phone runs very smoothly, I detected the problem known the previous release B708 that Google Maps version 9.2 and 9.3 do not work.
I had to install the version 9.1 and block the Google Play to avoid the automatic update.
Any idea how to resolve the issue?

It's not a special problem of B709 - had the same problem with the good old B513 and had to install the 9.1 of Google Maps too...

Hi. I am not so lectured in Android customization and the only thing I've ever flashed is Closed for LP. Shall I just put the zip in the internal memory and flash it via TWRP, or is there another step?
Also if I need to return to the stock bootlogo what is it I shall save or where do I find it?

Yes just put the zip file in the internal memory and flash it through twrp or philz recovery. You will have to find the stock boot logo and flash it using mfastboot in order to return to stock.

Hi All
Here a marshmallow BootAnimation
For use it just go in:
[EMUI 3.1] -> /cust/preinstalled/public/media
[EMUI 4.0] -> /system/etc/media
and replace the bootanimation.zip (or better rename the original just in case something goes wrong) with this one, reboot and see the new bootanimation on your phone

with root browser app, after copied the file on the right place leave your finger over the file, then a menu appear, select permission and change it as explained.
