Yes i did get "a2w measy" but i wasn't happy with the quality of the picture and lags so i have send it back for a refund.
Picture looked like it was "bad quality movie" even thou it was 1080p. It is brilliant idea but need some more work on it.

I've used it on official MK9 4.3 rom to LG smart tv, picture quality was very good but it had around a 1 second lag which made it awful to use.

Actually after a LOT of reading and browsing.... I realized, that miracast is not working as it was the idea on the paper! It is just not ready for prime time...pretty similiar to Bluetooth in the beginings.
A lot of devices are not compatible with a lot of dongles. There is a lot of chinese cheap 20-30usd devices on the market, that according to sellers should support miracast, but that is more often then not not the case at all. And when someone succeeds to connect the dongle with the phone, it does not work very good at all for video casting...audio is often out of sync and video stutters and is choppy...and that is when it works at all.
So my advice to everybody is to get a TV stick/box with Android, for 50$....it will be much easy to setup for casting..and a lot more powerfull, espacially because it could do a lot of extra stuff...
regards,d

Yes I was thinking of buying it too but for me it would be so much easier to use my phone to navigate to where I want with miracast. I have tried to connect my phone to tv and use my tablet to navigate with all sorts of "remotes" from play store and it just wasn't comfortable enough to buy an android dongle.I guess i just need to wait until they will perfect miracast technology I don't mind small lags but picture quality with the compression it use is not good enough on 55 inch tv

Best way to mirror screen from a note 2 to a series 5 samsung smart tv?

I am trying to mirror the screen on the note 2 to a samsung series 5 smart tv. I want to play my psone emulator game on the big screen, I am already doing this with no problems on the phone with a bluetooth controller.
I've tried it a number of ways but none can do what I wanted, have anyone done this before got any advice?
1. Samsung allcast. Its is built into my series 5 smart tv but it seem to be only able to play music/ picture/ video content across allcast. Unless there is some settings or hack I've missed. I think its because its a old series 5 tv. the web seem to shows a lot of examples of it working on newer Samsung smart tv.
2. Mhl cable. I dont have one and so I cant try it out. I am worried the resolution may not be very good or maybe there will be some lag on say, tekken 2. Have anyone used it before got any advice.
3. Remote desktop programs. This will work fine with a pc but I cant install the required program on the smart tv to get it to work.
Thank you in advance for any help.

He dude
Search for a netgear solution.
Dont know the exact name for the device but google will help you out and you will know when you see it.
Oh yeah... allshare cast must! Work. So a modified phone will not work without an allshare cast mod ( if there is any)
Regards
Axelman
A thank you would be nice, if i helped you in any way.

For custom ROM you may need a mod since custom counter prevents allshare from working.I went back to stock+rooted+twrp recovery. For me Triangle away does the job.Allshare cast is working like a charm. However when I go to Recovery I have to reset counter afterwards - every time.
First. Thanks all for help.
I was initially trying for a inexpensive way to play ps1 games on the big screen, as the soon to be released ps vita tv prompted.
I knew you could get some sort of expensive wifi router than allows universal screen mirroring. Unfortunately they are at least £100 which sort of defeat the purpose in my case.
I am on rooted stock rom. Allcast seem to work for everything (ie photo and video) from the phone and the pc. But no screen mirroring. That is unless I am missing on some options/setting or apps.
Lastly anyone whom got a mhl cable on any advice on lags or sounds or recommendations. As a quick search on amazon will pop on hundred of mhl cable at various price £10 to £50+. It seems that upscaling the note 2 resolution to 40 inch tv might be a bit taxing for a cheap cable. I am not sure. Any tips.

The Netgear solution costs about $50,-
A MHL cable is okay, but still then ur wired and set to a distance of 2 meters max between you and your 40 inch.
Every convenience comes with a price
I got my MHL cable from china.. works great, but its not for playing games on a tv set.
If your interested in the cable,

Is Actiontec ScreenBeam Pro's miracast feature compatible with 2014 Galaxy Note 10.1?

So I noticed the older Galaxy Note 10.1 is listed as compatible with the Altec ScreenBeam Pro... I'm wondering if it also works with the newer 2014 edition. Has anybody tried? It seems to work quite well with the Nvidia Shield (Nvidia actually recommends it out of many miracast devices that they've tried. They've even worked with altec to optimize it for the Shield, so I imagine that would also benefit other compatible Android devices): http://www.actiontec.com/products/63.php

I am also rooted and MiraCast still works. It is a bit more slugish than my Nexus 7.2. Probably because of scaling down since the Nexus is the resolution as the TV. My Nexus 10 was a bit slower as well.

I have the PTV3000 dongle and the note seems to disconnect immediately after connecting to the dongle with this message "unable to start screen mirroring because of a hardware issue".
quick lookups on google seems to indicate it's related to the status being unofficial. I am wondering if you had any similar problems and if I'd appreciate if you can share your workaround if you have any.
Thanks

Nope, you just need to plug the adapter into an available HDMI port on your tv
oh cool, thank you. Was just a bit confused on that.
I've had some luck with the ptv3000 on the 2.4.26 update. YouTube videos and games almost work, but my connection just seems barely too slow to be usable. Pictures and anything else seem to work okay for me. Would the screen beam pro work any better for gaming since I'd seems to be endorsed by nvidia?
Are You using the built in screescreen Mirror app
Are you using the screen mirror in the settings or a third party app
I'm using the one in settings. Would any third party app be better?

[Q] Nexus 7 2013 wireless tv out

HI guys. Can someone please recommend a decent method of being able to wirelessly display my nexus 7 FHD on my 42" LCD TV. It isnt a smart tv so I need a device to do this but I want to be able to play games on my tv using the Nexus as well. I have seen a few dongles for about £30 on amazon but they all have dodgy reviews. The cheaper the better but I obvs want something that will work flawlessly. Please can you guys give me some advice and your recommendations?

The SlimPort is a great device. I do not personally own it but I know people who own it and they say it works flawlessly. Since I cannot post links yet I suggest you go to Amazon and type SlimPort.
In android 4.4 in the display section of the settings there is an option to cast screen and since it says "cast" it leads people to believe the chromecast will be updated at some point to mirror screens, however it doesn't have that capability at this time but it will be a great option when/if it happens!

I was surprised when the Nexus 7 cast screen feature in the display settings worked with my Samsung All share Cast dongle, but it isn't that good by any means. But then, not even my Samsung S3 does screen casting to the dongle very efficiently either. So, slimport tethering is the way to go using a Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad to remotely control the Nexus.

The Netgear PTV3000 has been pretty flawless for Miracast so far. Just make sure you don't have any other devices operating on the 5 GHz band when you're using it. HTH.

Which "china" Miracasr dongle?

Since IOGEAR GWAVR is no where to find in EU and in Ebay cost to much. (shipp+tax). So Im gonna buy a cheap china miracast dongle instead. But which of so many miracast dongle does works with Note 2014?
Considering these cheaps one: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=miracast&_sop=15
But if any know where in EU does it sale IOGEAR GWAVR, that doesnt cost a fortune and I will buy it instead.

I am using Google Chrome cast. While i don't get the entire tablet on the screen I can watch any videos, pictures etc on my TV and it was 35 bucks at best buy. The video is pretty much all I cared about and it saved me some money doing it this way.
i search Taobao. Com ,there are a lot of options. The price is about 160 rmb (20-30 US dollars)
I'm using the action tech screen beam pro right now and its great. Watching one piece via S anime while writing this.

Nice thread! I would like to learn a little more of this!
Please can someone share the experience ?
EZCast/ EZMirror ? iPush ? Some say can do miracast and airplay!
Can we have a dongle :
- HDMI and AV connection ?
- Mirror what's on our Android screen
- Mirror what's on iPhone screen
- Mirror PC/MAC
Thanks
Hi all,
My colleagues and I use this :
www.tinydeal.com/fr/hi763-miracast-dlna-airplay-wifi-display-dongle-for-smartphone-p-111836.html
It is compatible with Miracast, DLNA and AirPlay. I can mirror my android devices and computers screen (Wifi Display) and stream airplay on the TV.
Also, there are some little issue with some of custom roms. But with my SM-P600 (MK1) it works flawlessly.

I read that some requires iPush to be downloaded from Play others EZCast/EZAir, is it the case for this dongle?
I've seen some youtube reviews and it seems that visualizing video the audio is a little lag from the image, is it common from this cheap dongles?
Anyone knows if there is any dongle with RCA analogue output instead of using an expensive HDMI-RCA converter ?

Sorry, I don't really understand "some requires iPush to be downloaded from Play others EZCast/EZAir, is it the case for this dongle?". But I'm using the Note 10.1 2014 with the native mirroring service included. And on my computer I'm using the native wireless display of windows 8 (I have an Intel proc with an Nvidia video card). Some of my colleagues use iTunes for streaming on the dongle.
I've forgot to mention one thing. The dongle does not allow to receive all airplay, miracast, dlna on the same time. There is a little switch on the dongle for choosing the dlna or airplay mode.
My recommendation is to avoid all cheap chinese miracast dongles. Got mine from Ebay and it works like crap.
- Wifi streaming hangs all the time.
- Resolution works fine from beginning and suddenly it changed to a weird aspect ratio size and all is zoomed in on TV.
That dongle is collecting dust now.
UAU
I've decided to give a try and i'm just impressed! It was the cheapest i've found on ebay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371043321886?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Not only came well packed on an impressive case as it does exactly what it says!
Tried our Note 2014 (605), iphone 5S and a toshiba laptop.
I advise you to just look at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrzaLjA1EiiBiYR4VKCoZpA
It works just like on the videos.
@ jpl69
Does it work for movies and gaming? How the range?
For gaming, just forget. At least half second gap, to much for gaming.
I have everything in my room, router tv/dongle pc, android, iphone so the range is about 3m.
For movies, youtube is awsome.

Do you need to use the EZcast app or you simply use the built-in screen mirroring function of the Note 2014?
You must use the EZCast , but just to trigger the mirror function on the device.

[Q] sending my android screen to PC

I would somehow have to transmit whats happening on my Note to a PC that is connected to the projector so the rest of the class is able to see. Please advice

Try this: BBQScreen
Another: Droid @ Screen
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EAD-T10JDEGSTA
You would have to connect this directly to the projector. If it does not have HDMI input you would need an adapter.
Another option might be to try and get SideSync working on your tablet: http://www.samsung.com/us/sidesync/
You will have to be on 4.4.2 and sideload the apk. I have found SideSync to be unreliable on both my Note 8 and S5 but others find it to work ok. Might be because Win 8.1 doesn't play as well with it as Win 7? Don't know.

I use a $20.00 Chinese dongle that is smaller and more portable. It is both DLNA, Airplay and Miracast compatible and has an adjustable antenna. I tested the latency on my dongle and is about 50ms on average, which is very fast. There are two backs. One is the limit of distance you can go from the dongle. Since this one has an antenna, the distance can be up to 3 meters, as it helps when placed in line of sight. The second is that it uses 5 volts, and the wee USB cable for power may need an extension from your computer. Since this dongle has its HDMI connector built in, no need for an HDMI cable to connect in between.
Once you set it up on your tv or projector, you can put it in your pocket and take it anywhere to be used and connect with any HDMI input device.
If your display has DB-15 connector, you will need a HDMI to Analog out converter. They are about the same size and cost of the Samsung Miracast unit. You can leave the dongle in the converter, but the stick will protrude a bit.
Good VNC Server
I've used one Android VNC server that really works with usable response times over WiFi and that's VMLite VNC Server. It supports multiple VNC clients on the PC (my favorite is WinVNC) and you can use it with or without root.
It's not an inexpensive app but is less than a hardware solution and one less thing to carry.

Just a thought... I wonder how many Samsung note users use Chrome cast... It is so inferior and costly over a good Chinese DLNA / Miracast dongle. Its range is limited by the lack of external antenna as well.
Oh, I forgot... peeps running modded firmware have broken Miracast and other special Samsung functions. They should have gotten a Kindle Fire HDX or a Venue Pro 8.0 instead, if they don't like Samsung's robust feature set.

I might give MirrorOP a try to see how it compares to the Vmlite VNC server, even though it only has a 3.4 rating in the Play Store. It seems like it has a lot of proprietary pieces versus Vmlite's server using free VNC clients for almost any platform, including Android, so the features and performance would have to be a lot better for me to consider a switch. It also requires root for the Android sender, which is not a problem for me, but Vmlite VNC server does provide a method to operate without root.

This looks like the same thing for a few dollars less on AliExpress.
Thanks.

How's the latency on this one? Heard some dongles can be as slow as 1 sec delay. I'm concern as I do not want my pen stroke to appear on screen 1 sec after I write.
Also, is the dongle able to use for a few hours without overheating and malfunctioning?

Mine is a year old and has been tested to stay below 60ms on delays. I Mirrorcast a lot with it, so side by side and the TV is a blink of eye faster but not like many I have seen gamers complain about.
I have played 2 movies back to back for 4 hours without heat and lockup issues. The device is worth the $17.00 or so I paid for it.
The only drawback is that it has no apps like Chromecast, but I got my Wii U to stream videos just fine if needed.
There are many more now with external antenna... there was a company that had a dual antenna version which is nice for lectures and large rooms. But I was not in need for such a device, plus it was 2x the price I was paying for mine.
