All apps in Playatore - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi. I can't find all apps in playstore as Peel Smart Remote.
I already tried Xposed Modul "all apps in market". It doesn't work.
Also i tried to edit build.prob to Nexus S. Didn't work either.
I tried Market Unlocker. No Chance.
If i wanna change the build.prob what device is the best for? Or is there another way?
Because I'm tired of this problem

Google Wallet installation

Just wondering if there's a way yet to install Google Wallet on the Nexus without installing a whole rom...
I'd think that there was some kind of way you could just install the APK like with any other app, maybe not considering it needs access to NFC. Who knows?
I wan't to walk into McDonalds and pay for my McFlurry like a boss.

Have you even searched the very popular galaxy nexus App section?
If you had you would see this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365360
It only requires that you have clockwork mod installed, it works over the top of any rom I have tried, stock included. Just be prepared to use fix permissions, and reinstall apps from the market if certain apps are acting funny.

What DPI (LCD Density) are you using? If you changed it from the default of 240 that often causes problems with the Market. If you are not running at 240 then you should try this
clear the market data and cache
set the density back to 240 (i.e. edit system/build_prop to have ro.sf.lcd_density=240)
reboot
use the Market to update everything (hopefully it works)
set your density back to what you want
reboot
Another issue could be the country you live in. For example, Google prevents Taiwan users from accessing paid apps. You can solve this by using Market Enabler, but you still need to do be at 240 DPI.
Hey thanks for the reply!
I've looked at my DPI in my build prop, it's already at 240 so I haven't touched that
And I've used market unlocked set it to US,
Its crazy I did everything!!, I forgot to mention that I tried the above techniques already
sorry no avail there
Any other ideas?
It seems just impossible for me??
If you are trying to get an app that Google doesn't want you to have in your country then faking your country won't help if you have to log into your Google account to get it.
The only other thing i can think of is to use another store like SlideMe or AppBrain. I have to use SlideMe to get 4Ext for example.

Hey, I tried appbrain, it shows the app I'm after!!!
When I press install takes me to Google play, and I get incompatible error, and I cant install
Seems weird my tones fully rooted, s-off and all, and I can't mod this, there has got to be a way.
Thanks for your help!!

Yes, if a different market redirects you to Google then it won't help. Try SlideMe.org, it seems to be completely separate from Google, but I've only used it for 4Ext so far.
Hey thanks for ur reply, i downloaded the app i want useing chrome and APK Downloader
And guess what the so called "incompatible" app works!!, I just want the convenience of every app on Google play!
Thank you!

UK Devs, please make PingIT work...

Hi, little project maybe for someone out there.
Can you please make Barclays PingIT work on rooted phones without having to remove root or do 3 or 4 procedures every time before using PingIT.
I could only find 1 other thread here about PingIT and there was not really a solution there. would be really useful for rooted users to be able to use the app.
Thanks
not barclays pingit but natwest app works perfect on a rooted phone hope it gets sorted for you. maybe if your running custom rom check dpi of your rom as this can stop the app being installed in the store, google for the apk itay work that way as you wont have play store restrictions
if you already have it on your phone check dpi, permissions etc. it could be something simple had same issue with natwest app til i changed dpi

i think it is much more involved than that.
i have used PingIT on a new ICS install on my phone before rooting it and it works fine. However when you root it the app stops working and you get a message saying it wont work on a rooted phone due to security issues. there is a little info on the net about it where devs have tried to get around it but no one successfully yet as far as i could find.
no new news on this?

[Q] Your Thoughts On Apps & Their Permissions

G'Day,
To make a long story short.. I was wondering if there were applications that can actually seek out and tell you what permissions other applications that you installed on your phone are asking for, and then ask you if you would like to modify or deny certain permissions within that application you have on your phone? (I know Android tells you the permissions by default..lol)
I was reading on paranoid android how android works and how it all fits to different files .. with this in mind.. I also noticed that some applications you see posted on google play, seek extreme permissions.. (for example to be able to send text on your mobile ect.. or to find other known accounts on your phone)
This kind of thing concerns me as I dont like other information to be known to others ect. .specially if you use for phone for transactions like google play and email accounts.. Hence the question above.
If no one knows of any..an application that can change the permissions of an app without interfering with the normal running of a game or program on the phone, does anyone know of someone that might be willing to make something like that?..
What are your thoughts on that?
If you have the Xposed Framework installed, the Xprivacy module for said framework will tell you what you want -- every permission used by a given app -- and let you selectively disable those you don't want.

Thanks for that, I am looking to Flash the galaxy s2 more so, to start learning more about smart phones.
The Jellybean 4.1.2 that i have on the S2 gets social hub errors and becomes unresponsive sometimes. so was looking at playing around with it and trying paranoid android or something else and then try that xposed framework..
Thanks again for that.. am looking into it. :good:

[Q] How to use App Ops on the Note P605?

Hey there,
since a week I own a Note 10.1 2014ed with LTE. So far I didn't modify anything on it and run the stock -MJ2 firmware.
I want to restrict some apps of accessing what the don't need to access and since 4.3 supposedly has this rights control feature called "App Ops" already integrated, I checked how to use it... Google gives many links to descriptions how to open the feature, they are all the same: Either you use a launcher that can start "Activities" (like Nova launcher) or you install one of the many apps from Playstore which do the trick as well.
Here is what I found on the Note:
Whenever I start the App Ops (no matter if I use an app, and I tried several, or start this activity), it just takes me to the first page of the Settings screen (WiFi).
Although searching the web for a while, it seems no one who owns this Note is using the feature or not having the trouble with it.
Can someone confirm this problem or, even better, give me a solution for it?
Cheers

I have that very same thing happen with something totally different. In wanam when I try to enable the flashlight from lock screen feature it takes me tu settings page nothing to do with camera flashlight or lock screen.....No idea I just gave up for now
Hmmm, no one interested?
I'm just wondering now if people don't care what their apps are accessing or if they use a third party program to make restrictions.
Any idea how to control apps will be welcome. If you use sth like LBE, please leave a reply.
Cheers
Hi there again.
Since there is no information available throughout the web concerning my question I was in contact with Samsung support about it. I thought it might be helpful for others what was replied.
They said that using the original Samsung Firmware, the feature cannot be used. They didn't specify whether it was completely removed from the system or only disabled so itcould possibly still work.
Since I am not a developer I didn't go into more detail there.
Now I hope that a custom ROM like Cyanogen will be available soon for the tablet.
Sent from my SM-P605 using xda app-developers app
I'm facing the exact same issues.
When following the windows opening when starting App Ops from e.g AppOpsX, a window titled "App Ops" opens quickly, then closes and ends up on the Settings screen. Same for flashlight.
My best guess was that Samsungs version of the Settings App blocks access in a way that they can only handle windows/panes that their app is capable of - would explain why it shows up just quickly and then closes.
I've been thinking that if I'd be able to flash the stock settings app, temporarily freeze the Samsung one and try App Ops - might work?
I have the same issue. My p605 is not rooted
