[Q] Finding a case in the Twin Cities? - Nexus 5 Accessories

I live in the Twin Cities, MN. I guess I'm trying to see who lives here and know of a local store that may have a few cases for sale. Of course I can order online which eventually I will, but I'm trying to get something ASAP. Craig list isn't producing any finds.
Any one from the MN and know of any retailers offering cases for this device? Really appreciate!

I live in Minneapolis. I don't think you will find any stores that sell a lot of cases for this phone.

Try Sprint or tmo

Burnsville here. I couldn't find anything locally. I ended up storing my N5 in the zagg bag they give you when you buy an invisibleshield screen protector until my case came in from amazon. I'm using the Spigen Slim and it's great so far http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EV8Y7XI

I appreciate the responses. I've went several places looking for cases. Tmo and sprint also. It looks like online is the only option for now. Probably have to over night it.
Thanks again MN.

ZAGG

This thread is out of frustration really. I recently took advantage of a big sale that ZAGG had on and purchased two full body shields for my nexus. I have put these and others like them on many, many times, and it never seems to get any easier. There has got to be a better option for protection other than bulky cases, and ZAGG type, pain in the a$$ shields. Grrrr!

$7 gets them installed by a "professional" and saves you the hassle at a zagg stand.

I dont think they do it either. The only other service they have to offer is the geek squad and I doubt that they do that there; but if they do they would probably charge arms and legs.

There is a zagg kiosk with a person to install in one of the malls over here in Vancouver. Check your local malls.
These things are super easy to apply. Just make sure you spray the phone and the sticky side of the shield. Any of your friends have steady hands?

Best Buy install them for $7, as a mobile employee, we sell them and are trained to install them. Its worth it, they stay on forever.

Huh, well look at that...I searched a few months ago and I couldnt find any locations in Toronto (where I live) that did installs but I just did another search and I found some locations. I guess I must've not looked hard enough.
I'm actually quite good at installing them myself. I just think that despite being good at it I'm always left feeling a little let down with the product.
Also I could never bring myself to pay $7 more to have someone else out it on. They're expensive enough.

out here in Durham Region (east of Toronto) we have Ghost Armor kiosks. Best $45 I ever spent (body wrap (silver) & full screen protector plus installation).

Just looked at their website. The carbon fiber look is interesting, I wonder how white CF would look.
Pretty torn between Ghost Armor or Zagg. Which would be better quality?
I hate Zagg so much on my old Vibrant that I swore I would never use a wet protector - horrible orange peel effect and really rubbery.
Then I came across XO Skin. If you are gonna use a wet screen protector, go for XO Skin.

any shops that have cases instore? (UK)

hi, i cant find anywhere that has any cases / accessories for the note 10.1 instore. i find plenty online
other than universal stlye, has anyone bought / seen them in a store?
cheers
Im in the UK and can't find any in-store either
You probably won't for a while. I have only seen a few places that stock the Note 5.3 case. All overtaken by iPhone cases and that.
I got my case off ebay for under a tenner and it came with a free screen cover. It is brilliant.

Lifeproof Case on eBay?

I've seen a bunch of threads regarding that the Lifeproof cases aren't out yet... But on eBay there are a few cases for sale. I'm guessing these are fake but the pictures look pretty legit. Any experience with these? I'm still new so I can't post links but if you type in "S3 Lifeproof" on eBay it should pop up.

I was about to start a thread and remembered there already was one. So since this thread I've noticed a large increase in the number of fake lifeproof's, I'm assuming some company in china got the specs and started making replicas. Looks like the prices are in the $40 to $50 range, so who's going to be the guinea pig and buy one? Part of me wants to try it since the real lifeproof cases cost $80, but another part of me thinks that its stupid to spend $50 on something that could be complete crap. Especially if it ships from china or hong kong, if I don't like it I'd have to pay the shipping all the way back. Plus I'd have to wait 3 weeks just to get it and possibly another 3 weeks to get the refund........
Anybody want to sponsor me? I'll put a big pictorial and detailed review?
LifeProof
I'll be ordering one from a US Seller for a slightly higher markup. I can post a video review on Youtube, and here as well. I'll get it some time next week, as I'll probably order it with my birthday money or when my paycheck comes in. And hey, if you want to push $5 towards the cause, I wouldn't be opposed They look exactly like the iPhone version, even down to the packaging and colors available. one seller even mentioned that they aren't LifeProof branded, but had a 1 month return/refund/warrenty. In addition, Paypal and my bank offer a certain amount of time to make sure a product actually works (3 or 6 months, I think). I'm game for giving it a shot!
I imagine that the install would be the same as for an iPhone... and I'd want to check the seals BEFORE installing my phone... that'd be really sad.
Found it but it's not on lifeproof website.

Right, that's the whole point of this entire thread. These are FAKE or replicas or whatever you want to call them, that's why this thread got started. That's why they only cost $40 to $50 dollars. That's why some of them are from CHINA. I think I'll probably end up buying one of these once I find a white one that's being sold here in the US. I know they all are probably being made in the same place in Hong Kong or somewhere but I don't see any reason to order something and wait for a month for it to get here.

Being that lifeproof has yet to release the case, what's the alternative? If you need protection a fake case is better than nothing.

I didn't even know this one existed. I'll have to look into it. I take it you're happy with the case? Is touch sensitivity okay? I had the OBEX for a week and hated it. I like to five and would like to have something I can take on the boat with me that I don't have to worry about getting banned around or splashed. I have no intentions of actually taking it into the water.

waterpfoof case for the s3

I know a lot of us has been looking for a waterproof shockproof dustproof snow proof case for our s3. Lifeproof has failed to deliver same goes for with otterbox, they are taking for ever. I found one that is available in a few hours. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/enflux/agilis-series-premium-galaxy-s3-case check it out. And it is cheaper than otterbox.
100k in 52 hours yea i highly doubt it'll reach its goal. Best of luck though.

In my situation cautious yes. I work in a really dusty enviroment and I use the case only in the workplace. And I got my earlier Sony's screen broken because of no case in the workplace....
I don't use this case in my freetime. It's just too bulky to have in your pocket and phone is a little more difficult to use.
There's couple disadvantages in the case:
- you can't press the powerbutton on the rightside. It's blocked because the hinges of the case are on the right side.
- I have had problems with the voice. I need to take the phone out of the case when talking with someone because they can't hear almost at all for some reason. I have not researched do anyone else have this problem and can I do something for it
I have also a bike clip for the case. I have not tested it yet (I have some plans to use the phone as a cycling computer in the summer time).
I'm little struct between this or Griffin Survivor (I have them both). Griffin Survivor is much better in almost every way (belt clip in Griffin case is really good) if you don't need water proofness but it's much harder to put the phone to the case and take if off.
Got this case to use on my bike: http://www.topeak.com/products/bags/smartphone_drybag_5_bk
Edit: don't mind my sig, got a S3 now.

Would an s3 with extended battery fit in this case, im already looking for quite a while for something like this but never realy wanted to order one because i am worried that it would not fit for extended batteries
Do these waterproof cases float? If no, what kind of depths can they handle? (I assume 1m)
I'm waiting for the otter armor.
