Only reason I want a better camera is so they include a LED light next time; I'm missing my phone being a flashlight.

Still better than 6.3 Mega with 720p display.

It target to Mega 6.3 and another Chinese phones with 6 inhcer screen

I might be in the minority but I think a 6" phone is the sweet spot. Don't get me wrong, I love my ZU but between the large top and bottom bezels and the huge screen its a bit too big.
My dream device would essentially be a 6" Z1 only with smaller bezels...think that will ever happen?

I thought that too before and the reason I skipped the Note 3 is because it was not 6" but now after having the Ultra...I dont know if I can go back....and I cannot really go higher really without being a tablet so I guess this is where I draw the line?

Yeah, i'm not going bigger after the Ultra. 6.4" is so soo close to the tablet category that i just can't do it I'll accept anything between 5.5 and 6.4 inches.

On a side note note... At dinner the other night we stacked my friends 4S on the ZU just for fun... It was good for a laugh but started a 5min rag session on how redonculously large the phone is lol. My friends just don't get it...

Galaxy Nexus does not impress me

When the N1 came out, it was cutting edge. It took 3-6 months before any phone came close.
Ever since Samsung started making the Nexus phones, the only thing that may be cutting edge are it's displays and that's only because no one else gets to use them. So, why is Google NOT pushing the edge when it comes to the Nexus? Why doesn't the Galaxy Nexus have a Quad core and other exciting (to me) parts? So here is an idea of a Nexus that sounds more cutting edge.
Nexus Conduit
===========
Band: A True world phone that will work on any network (GSM or CDMA as Apple as shown plus Chinese new cell networks)
Processor: Quad-core (like the Chinese are making http://411droid.com/meizu-mx-first-...th/?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed) but faster (26nm ???)
Display: 4.7+ (5+ physical or onscreen buttons) with no or really thin bezel (i.e. Microsoft video http://www.geekwire.com/2011/microsofts-video-proves-future-awesome)
Bluetooth: 4.0 (thanks Apple)
Memory: 4GB RAM, 32GB Storage, up to 128GB micro-SD
Battery: 2000+ (removable or not ???)
Other: Give me back my trackball
IP7/8 Waterproof
Physical Camera button
5 row keyboard if I can't get the trackball
Boombox like Speakers
Hologram popup display video chat (i.e. Star Wars, Robotech)
</end disappointment for now>
NOTE1: if you take this post too seriously, your life will be shorten and don't blame me.
NOTE2: What is your idea for a Nexus phone?

Why not both?
4GB ram should future proof it long enough unlike the N1 which will not official get ICS.
You are right. Who should be excited about Ice Cream Sandwich? Or hardware acceleration? Or an OS optimized for dual core? Face unlock, 4.65 inch screen...what a lame phone...
I can't stop laughing right now maybe you need a iPhone. Wait a year maybe less for quadcore. Galaxy nexus is OK except for the camera

As long as a phone fits in my front shirt pocket not too snugly, it is just the right size.
As for the camera, I thought I read something(don't remember) about it's mainly about the software. If you have good software you don't need something like a 16MB camera but I could be wrong.

It's a slippery slope, you have to keep things manageable and think about the future.

Also, for the guys talking about "OH NO! 5MP camera ;(", you don't know what that even is, I can see. Resolution doesn't directly mean quality. A 5MP camera can take superior quality images than a 8MP camera, and vice-versa.

I seriously hope it's based around Cortex A15.
WHy must samsung always have the best CPUs?
The best single core cpu was the exynos gen 1"Hummingbird"
Best dual core is exynos gen 2 "Orion"
Oh and the new Mali chip should sexy as hell.
Meh, decent specs but HTC is merely playing catchup with the s2 specs. Non removable batteries and no external sdcards, the one s pentile screen lol whats HTC trying to do become the next motorola, those phones are gimped! Nah ill pass till the s3 Mali 568 or omap 5 Socs arrive.

Plus no sd or removable battery.
Nice screen and processor but my phone is smooth with out the 2 extra cores.
And i dont want 2 years for just a screen difference.

The rumor mill claims that the Sprint variant of the One X will be the Evo One, and include micro sd slot, 720p AMOLED screen, and a much-improved battery (still non-removable).
Should be taken with a grain of salt obviously, but if those improvements were a reality (plus the return of the kickstand, which I loved on my Evo 4g)... I'd be pretty tempted. But not making any decisions until I see the GS3

Here is a leak that seems to be true of the galaxy s III.

Only 1GB of ram and looks like a bigger version of the S2. Quad core is nice but not sure about the battery. What totally made me not want this only 8mp camera, I was going to get it if it was 12mp in heartbeat. but 5 vs 8 price for performance not really worth it.
There is another leak where in fact it says it has a 12mp camera
Too me id rather have development over a camera and quad core
Why on earth do I need a quad core phone?
Also if you want good pictures get a real digital camera

I rather just have a polish OS. I don't want to be carrying a camera and a phone, I rather have good camera in my phone. if I had the S2 camera or the iphone 4S, I wouldn't care as much about a 12mp camera. I know many people here believe the nexus camera is not that bad, but I think that's just being ignorant. I think its pretty lame for being newer then the S2 and the camera being worst. I can go on and on about it also not having a SD slot and pentile screen.

Nah, the phone is over hyped. Normally I always stick with my contract for two years. But the reason of me switching so fast is because the faster I sell the nexus phone, the more value I get. Not to mention if the Galaxy S III does come with a 12mp + LTE internet for AT&T i'm going to switch in a heartbeat.

I owned a GS2 before my GN. The difference is suppose to be with jagged edges and not colors and you cannot see any of that in the GN like you can on lower res devices that use pentile displays.
For color, we can already improve that with kernels and apps for the GN so still don't see your point...
Will a Super Amoled plus screen look better, I am sure to some degree it will but to complain about the screen we have now is ridiculous.

Then pentile screen is not that problem
1. 1gb of ram is more than enough for a phone, heck most phones with 512mb run fine
2. The stock color settings are what make the super amoled hd screen appear inferior to the super amoled plus, that can easily be fixed, the whites on my screen are some of the best I've seen.
3. Quality of a camera isn't dependant on its mega pixels, that only determines the size of the picture, the quality of the pictures is entirely dependant on its sensor and lense, the gnex has a decent sensor, but it's nowhere near the best. We still don't know about the gs3's sensor, so we can't judge how good it's camera is yet.

I'm debating whether i should wait for the GS3 to be released and export it, or to buy the galaxy nexus now. It's kinda disappointing that its almost the same screen as the nexus, and the back of it looks like SHI*.

On a 4.8in screen, I don't think the eye can determine the difference between 1080p and 720p. The difference is literally microscopic. On a 60inch TV you can for sure tell the difference though.
I was impressed with the eye sleep option, liked the continuous flash that determines the best photo. Like that you can pick up the phone while texting and it automatically calls someone. Also like the quad core processor. It apparently has gotten impressive benchmark scores. The ICS with touchwiz looked pretty good to me, along with the additional toggles as well. All in all I was happy with what they released.
Honestly, it would be my absolute dream phone if only it had two things: a NOTIFICATION LIGHT/LED, and of course AOSP. Fortunately, one of those can be fixed with ongoing development, but BLN just doesn't quite fill the void for me. I miss that notification light. :/ otherwise, I like the curvy simplicity of it, and the dark blue finish rather than flat black is a nice choice!

Even on a 60 inch screen it is nearly impossible to tell. Its just all part of marketing and wanting to have the "best"
As far as the phone, I am honestly not that impressed, I think the GN is still the better choice, sure it may have nice specs and all, but when it cokes down to it. We need a phone that will have the latest software and this will he no different than the pickle we're in right now. We'll be behind again in about 3 months with next OS. Nexus all the way for me from now on.

Hmmm... just got an awesome idea to make money of this phone... so I know will love this phone except of course the plastic feeling so I m about to invest in making ceramic or metal back covers... looks like I m finally gonna be rich... mwahahaha

I know but you know its coming out and imma be first in line with a 7-11 chili dog
Not impressed..... Going to hold off for the new nexus instead.
Of course, samsung did a great job; however, i think ill just be sticking with my gs2 for now. In the US, it'll most probably get a Qualcomm dual core processor so besides a few improvements from the gs2, its nothing major. but definitely a nice phone!
Reply
I dont feel theres nearly enough improvements to justify upgrading sure would be fun to have something new tho haha
im torn, I like alot of the new feature the phone offers, but the phone looks like a nexus/gs2, nothing drastic like we all hoped for. Kind of like a iphone 4s imo. What do you guys think about the upcoming nexus phone? that might be the game changer, since rumors has it that it will be a upgraded version of the s3.
when does google usually unveil the nexus phones? at their google io thing in june?
just my 2 cents
Disappointed
Overall - disappointing.
Great performance and features - absolutely!. 2100mA battery should = longer usage times (even with 4 faster cores). HD res is great. Improved UI. Some very nifty accessories. 8mp camera is fine as improved software & performance makes the picture - though Carl Zeiss optics would have been great.
4.8 screen getting too big for a phone. Was hoping for an ultra thin bezel hence reducing size.
But pentile matrix? Heavier? Thicker? No quality materials? Old Mali GPU? No LTE? 1Gb RAM? And featureless design? Very, very poor for a flagship phone that's meant to be setting the standard...
Heavier I understand (bigger battery weighs more). But there's HD Super Amoled plus on tab7.7 - why pentile here? Competition has phones 6.9mm thick. HTC, Sony, even Motorla & Huawei have better designs (not to mention Apple) and materials. So it's not as if any of this wasn't achievable.
I have a SGS 1 & 2. The S2 was well ahead of the competition, bar materials and uninspiring design. Was looking forward to a groundbreaking S3 on all fronts. It's very good, but good isn't good enough these days.
Samsung needed to tick more boxes to place this phone undisputably out in front leaving others to catch up & not easily surpass.
In no rush to get one now, and possibly might not. Will wait to see the competition - eg: Sony Ion, HTC, even (lord help me) Apple; or maybe wait for SGS4.

Samsung Galaxy S4

Hey folks, I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a chance of porting the S4 clock over to the N4. I really like the simple look of it. Thanks

Check fancy widgets or beautiful widgets. I did a quick search on Google. I suggest searching Google before you post.
And I believe its just the touchwiz clock. Look for that.
I think it looks horrendous but I'm a minimal guy.
Hope that helps

Why?

AW: Samsung Galaxy S4
Because it's more Galaxy S 3.5 than Galaxy S 4. Same thing Apple did with iPhone 4>4S.

Still a upgrade regardless...... who cares what they name the phone. At the end of the day, its a success on Samsung's part.

That's what I'm saying. They doubled the RAM, improved the processor, raised the resolution, made the screen bigger, improved the camera, added some pretty cool software features and yet people are complaining and bashing it lol.
I'm a Nexus fan and will always buy Nexus phones, but the S4 is a solid device and will sell like hotcakes.
People just love to complain.

Only thing i hate is that they sticked with that "white and blue" colors.. i've allways loved black phones:/
They made a special edition SIII in black.. wich had LTE.. but it costed like the same as the SIII + half of that again.. xD made me sad..I wanted to try they're new processors power etc But i had my friends SIII for two weeks, so i got to root and flash and have alittle fun
it still has a hard home key. wtf, arent hard key that only serve one purpose morbidly outdated? and capacitive keys as well, i just always feel as if that is space that could be used for more screen and less hardware... but then again im a google whore and the nexus line can do no wrong.

I agree lol, what did we get from galaxy nexus to nexus 4? A little more pixel, diferent screen tech, bump on camera, mmm better build..... Not much difference software update wasn't there at all, I'm hoping to see Google add a lot feature on their upcoming update, I like TW feature but I hate how it looks completely and sometimes don't feel like flashing a theme, anyways back on topic to the op you might find one in the market soon or here in XDA

Well to be fair..... if you have physical buttons then you don't have onscreen keys meaning more screen estate.
This is getting a little off-topic but.... rumored LG Nexus 5

2.1MP front camera (1080p video recording @30FPS)
3300 mAh Lithium Polymer battery

Keep in mind that the Galaxy S line has been a huge success from the S, to the S3. With each one you only ever see them improving on what the last one had. The S4, is essentially a way faster S1.
Like the iPhone 5, it is essentially a way faster iPhone3G.
What you'll notice is that you'll only find drastic changes to the design if what was previously done didn't sell well.
Think about Nokia and Windows Phone. They've had so little success that they had to go for broke and change everything about their phones. Even Sony took the 'Ericsson' out of their brand to ditch the bad rep and start anew.
The S3 was insanely popular, so the S4 will only have incremental changes. If the S3 had a physical home key and was so successful, why take it out?

u sure..? I am reading the info right now.. and they are saying white and blue..sIV
EDIT: I saw it, it's called "Nova Black".. in the videos it dosn't look black, or dosn't even look good. I have to see this for my own eyes before even comparing it to my sexy N4!

i understand what youre saying as far as designs go. i just hate buttons is all. but as far as popularity goes apple had it right with the iphone 4, and even being an adamant hater of all things apple, i still like how the iphone 4 looks and feels in the hands. but for now im gonna stick with my n4 and pretend to be pretentious because i paid half and got it unlocked
