[Q] changing my phone's (N-7105) CSC - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Easiest way is to download csc changer. I have never used it myself I have always flashed my csc file if needed. Be warned the csc changer app will factory reset your phone

thank you for the quick response man. if i change my csc should my firmware still be on a legit one? thanks

I've changed my csc a few times on custom roms if that's what your asking. I'm fairly sure you can change the modem and or csc on any rom. If you are trying to get ota you might have to unroot. Easiest option would be to download the latest stock rom for your country from sammobile and flash with odin. That way you should get all the ota's

You will have to wait. Updates are pushed by regions. You should be able with kies or OTA.

Why don't you use odin to flash 4.1.2 rom (france) ?

Dont know how to use it
It's very easy .
1-back up your phone : photos ,mp3,sms,sync your contacts with google...
2-download 4.1.2 stock rom xef for france ,it has both arabic and english support .(sammobile.com)
3-download odin pc newest version
4-extract the downloaded firmware
5-put your phone into download mode then open odin and connect your phone to the computer
6- select pda on odin and select the extracted file (don't touch any thing else)
7-hit start
That's it now wait for the flash process it may take a while .
On youtube there many how-to videos about odin and firmware flashing.it's really easy .google is your friend.

Try downloading Kies and connecting your phone to it. Then it might realize you have an update in Kies. My phone didn't think I had an update available.
If it is a BTU, then no luck, we don't have an update yet. I am using an XEF DMA6 and it works good.

What is mean BTU?

Btu is the country code if i understand correctly. There still is no UK release to date, this was one of my main reasons for dumping htc with the lack of love they gave unlocked international devices. Get your finger out Samsung.

You don't need root to flash a stock rom via Odin, i told you that it worked with me, and i have an unbranded note 2 with country code BTU (kies display the code when connected to your device) bought it from England.

I read somewhere that if you changed to XDMF1 , it's not that easy to come back to a previous baseband.
Can you tell me if it worked for you ?

DMF1 and DME4 are ok to swap between as they are both the newer ones. Any older need efs backups and a lot of hassle.
I am on [email protected] v12 which had DMF1 which I am pretty sure is Asian baseband and swapped for DME4 which is Europe.
Just make sure you backup your efs first just incase and nandroid backup too. Better to be safe than sorry.

OK in that case it's probably better if I keep the baseband DMF1, my phone is from HK and I'm in China.
But I don't know why, I have a battery drain when I switch on my data since I updated to DMF1.

Just select the modem in the "modem" section of mobile odin and then hit "flash firmware at the bottom. It takes a few minutes to complete. (I thought mine crashed but then it rebooted after about 2 minutes and all was working).

The modem is one thing. A matching RIL is a second thing. You will need to get the matching RIL from the firmware from which the modem came from to get full compatibility. I'm not saying it's not gonna work but if you want to be safe you should get a hold of libsec-ril.so from the rom.
