[Q] DPI messed up after flashing a new ROM. - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

So I flashed SlimKat 2.3 yesterday and everything started looking small. I thought it was the ROM but I just flashed Paranoid 4.0 beta but still have the same problem. I used DPI changer but it is not helping. I'd appreciate your help.
Edit: I think It might the ROM this time also. Sorry my bad.
Let me know if you think this is not one of the features of the ROM and I deleted something while flashing new ROM.
Thanks

Slim will, by default, use a different DPI. I think ParanoidAndroid uses normal DPI unless you make changes; either way you should be able to edit your build.prop on the line that says ro.sf.lcd_density.

[Q] Sense 4.1 app folder laggy

I just recently bought this phone, everything about it is great except that opening the app folders on homescreen is kinda laggy. Did anyone experience this? Wondering if there is a fix.
no problem on custom ROM and custom kernel. :good: never tried stock ROM...
Haven't tried any of the custom roms out there, anyone worth trying?

I swear they're all so awesome that it's basically personal preference, lol.
Keep in mind that the new Sense Jelly Bean ROMs require specific CIDs in order to work.
And remember to read instructions before installing....
Thanks! I might hold up for a while as I just read the news JB is being rolled out at the moment. Can't wait for the OTA update in UK!

[Q] static after flashing new roms

My first question post, so please don't flame me.
I went from ktoonez AOKP to M1 AOKP when M1 was first released and gtalk video chat does not work anymore and neither does the sound. I have also tried to use skype but that too comes through as static and no video.
I have done a full wipe factory data/wipe catche and format /system. It didn't bother me for a while and I have since switched roms to slim rom. When I went back to stock with root the video and the static issue went away but as as soon as I flashed the static came back.
What have I done wrong? I flash all the apropriate zip files in the correct order and such.
When I was on M1 I flashed kt747 kernel as well. Did I miss something along the way?
what kind of logs would be needed to help with the issue? right now I am on the latest slim rom with the kernel it came with
Thanks for all your help and I appreciate the help and will thank all who wish to help
also, video audio playback from recorded videos do work fine.
any ideas?
summary...
flashed 10.22.12 task rom, everything seemed peachy. also added the jusTUN bean gapps with proper wiping i forgot to mention.
then flashed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949025 and after a little flashed the kt747 kernel. noticed the audio issue before the kernel flash. i can't say if the audio issue started with the first flash. still had tun
flashed a few more roms, baked (no data, LTE issue?), liquid smooth with tun, and back to task's AOKP without tun.
got fed up with the inability to find info on my issue and went back to stock through ODIN then flashed task again to see if that would fix it perm., it didn't. it WAS fine on stock after flashing through odin (i flashed the stock rom with root already injected in it)
and now i'm on slimrom. enjoying slim as I enjoyed it on my bf's SII but STILL having the audio issue..
it really irks me that after starting anew with going back to stock with odin helped completely then flashing a rom fked it again...
i do full wipe, user data, cache, dalvik, format /system... all through the newest CWM non-touch. then proceed to flash the rom normally

I personally haven't tried Skype at all on my phone yet. There are some pretty slick touchwiz ROMs out that really persuade you to get away from cm10 and stuff. Here is one I am really liking.

Thanks for the reply my man. That's an idea I never thought of. I did flash wanam light before going through Odinand flashing ccompletely stock with root. I don't believe I flashed it incorrectly since I had no data again, may have forgotten to format data but I was a little stressed at then time. I'm just really used to aosp at the moment but I willgive it a try after ttrying to find out what's wrong.
Other things in noticed that most likely its the top mic that's the issue. Another thing is my buddy said he had a sound issue simular from his headset connected to his computer and stated that it was because too much voltage was being pushed to his mic.... So wondering if that's any relevance

Has anyone used the latest build of this rom? Well, I usd the builds before it, and really enjoyed the blue theme, but the only problem with it, is that when your apps get updated the themes change back to stock. Has anyone used the lates build of this rom and figured out how to keep your blue theme even when your apps update?
Also! I tried flashing this rom just using stock, choosing the added options I wanted amd then i rebooted. Well, I cant change the Wallpaper. All the home screens are black and I cant do anything about it. idk if its my phone or the rom its self, but something isnt right here.

[Q] All icons, buttons and font are now HUGE! HELP!

I unlocked and rooted my Gnex maguro the day i got it a few weeks after release. I never had problems, flashing a new rom every few weeks trying kernels ect. I decided to try paranoid android. Installed 4.0 Beta 6 <2014-02-17> and everything was fine, i actually really liked the rom. I then updated to 4.1 Beta <2014-03-03> along with the corresponding gaaps and now all icons and buttons are almost double their original size. I did a clean wipe and flashed the previous 4.0 along with the older g apps and everything is still huge. Has anyone else experienced this and can someone help
Thanks!
Edited lcd density in build.prop. I should have thought of this before posting. Delete thread please

Rom to flash

Hey all, I am runnig a rooted stock LS980, with TWRP, I just got an OTA push tonight, and I am not going to flash it, but I hate the notification so I guess I am going to flash a custom rom instead of waiting until I get home. Which rom do you all recommend?
I am thinking pac-rom, but the most recent nightly was 7/10, but there is a build called pac_ls980-dev-20140730 can anyone tell me what this is?
Also I cannot find the Gapps to pacrom?
Do you recommend cyanogenmod or AOKP and why? which version should I flash and Gapps???
Thank you!

You dont have to swap roms to lose the notification. Just swipe down and click and hold the notification, open the app info and select the notification check mark off.
Personally I enjoyed the Liquid Smooth rom, it was very fast. And any standard gapps file for your version of android should be fine. Just remember to flash the ZV8 radio if you are going with an AOSP rom. Or flash dr87s kernel. And not to sure what that build of pac-rom is. And I enjoyed Cyanogen for a bit, they are always working on new things, you know that there's going to be a fix to any problems that arise. And I love the blue look. But everyone uses roms for different things, I mainly use stock, rooted with xposed framework.
Why not try them all?

I am pretty comfy with cyanogenmod, I have used it since I got my HP touchpad two years ago, however I prefer pac-rom.
can I get the ZV8 radio link please? what is the dr87s kernel? good or bad? I am running kernel 3.4., but i believe to be a JDI kerel, and not LGD because I flashed the white lines fix.
CM11 is a great ROM, but I will warn you, if you're in an area with Spark (B26 of B41), ZV8 radio wont connect to those automatically. If you're wanting to keep Spark enabled, I'd recommend Slim or Mahdi until CM11 updates their kernel to support the newer modems.
Also, newest Mahdi/Slim will auto detect your display during installation so you will not need to worry about having a JDI panel.
EDIT: Here's Mahdi's Thread and here's SlimKat's Thread. They both use Dr87's kernel which is boss.
What Ascertion said is spot on, but here is the link for a zv8 radio. It also contains a lot of useful information. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2627765

So, If I were to flash Slimrom, and the Gapps, do I have to flash the dr87 kernel as well as the ZV8 radio?
in the install directions it says to wipe everything, however i was told not to wipe system before when flashing a rom... should I or shouldn't I?
