Offbrand Wireless Charging Orb - Nexus 5 Accessories

I found a nice wireless charger online, but due to the fact that I haven't bought a wireless charger before, I have no idea if the specifications it has are any good. Here's a link : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F9SKJN6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1E57UY6AMKO25

What do you guys think?

I bought the same one. Had it for about a week now, and with no problems charging the phone.
My only issue is trying to find a case for the phone that doesn't slide off the charger. Both spigen cases I have bought, the phone slides off after a few minutes. Without a case, the phone stays on beautifully. However, I like to keep my phone in a case all the time. Any suggestions?

Try attaching some thin magnets on the surface of the charger. You could alternatively buy some magnet tape and apply that.

I also found this one that looks fine but there are no reviews so I'm a little bit hesitant. http://www.amazon.com/PThink-Qi-Ena...e=UTF8&qid=1390259691&sr=8-6&keywords=qi+coil

That really depends on where the coils are located on that device. It looks like it should work, if you are going by the qi mark in the center, because the coil on the N5 is close to the center of the phone.
EDIT: I see they say it has three coils. If that is the case, then it's like the Tylt VU where it has three or so coils.

Those specs are good. It's the same 1000mA output as most Qi chargers. If the output is rated below 1000mA then don't buy it.

That's odd. I have the same off-brand (bought mine on NewEgg, but it looks to be the same one) Qi charger and I've not had any kind of slippage issues with mine.
Took it on a trip recently, and it held up just fine without slipping when I was using my Ringke Slim case. And-- needless to say-- I have no slipping problems when I'm not traveling, and go caseless on my N5.
I always did prefer the Nexus Orb charger look!

this case is a bit tricky to line up the holes plus you will get like water makes due to the glossy blue back and the clear tpu..also be careful when removing the case off from the top..i cracked my back cover a bit on the headphone jack due to the back cover got caught when removing so now i remove the case from the bottom..i ordered a oem one due to i dont really like the AT&T branding

this case is matte like feel like it also but the print design could of been more better plus it scratches easy on the design as you can see on the bottom part..the cut out is way better on the speaker /flash/cam..also holes line up easy dont need to mess around much like the other case above
hyper batts works ok no NFC its a good back up..the charger is crap i dont use it..took 8+ hours to charge from 10% to 80% on the charger it came with. i mod it and direct solder everything on the charger same thing its slow.. its the charger itself charges like at 0.4 amps. will last all day on full charge depends on settings/what your doing. i charge it from the phone due to its faster..i going to order a oem battery/dock charger..

It is the Samsung galaxy universal multimedia desktop dock with audio out. Does not charge a spare battery but it will work with some cases.

Poetic Slimline Case and the Nexus Wireless Charger

PSA: For some reason the Nexus Wireless charger and the Poetic Slimline Case don't play well together. I have another wireless charger, the Oregon Scientific QI charger, and the Nexus 7 charges without problem with the Slimline case on, but it will not charge on the Nexus Wireless Charger with the case on. The case seems pretty decent, particularly for the price, except for this minor issue. The Nexus Wireless Charger works when I remove the case and it works with my Nexus 5 as well.
These are the links for the specific models I am referring to:

Oregon Scientifc Wireless Charging Station
http://www.oregonscientific.com/us/en/Time-Wireless-Charging-Station-QW201-P
Hmm... I guess I should have done the research before ordering the Nexus wireless charger (which is already here). I have the Poetic Slimline on the way right now.
Are you absolutely certain it doesn't work? With the official Asus case fitted the Nexus charger works but it is a little fiddly to get it into the right position as the magnets are too weak to help locate the sweet spot.

I am fairly certain that at least with my charger it does not work. I played around with it for a while. When I took the case off I was able to charge the tablet every time with little trouble with placement. I bought the charger just after release. Maybe they will fix the problem with a revision or something. I have to imagine that if the Poetic Slimline has a problem other cases will as well. Or maybe it was just my charger having an issue.
As I mentioned before, the tablet charges with the case on when I use my Oregon Scientific QI charger.
Surpisingly, the Moko Ultra Slim (pretty much the same) case works just fine with my Nexus Orb charger. I've seen a few videos of the new Nexus charger and it almost seems like its range is a bit worse than the Orb from last year.
130 bucks? thats how much i paid for my nexus fhd lol

I use it on my S3. The charging speed is not that fast compared to USB, which I think is well-known. The back cover gets a bit warm also, and I have an Otterbox Commuter case as well, which gets a little bit warm also. It charges just fine through the case.
This is the one that I ordered, as it came with the charging pad and receiver for the phone.
http://www.fasttech.com/product/1146700-qi-inductive-wireless-charging-upgrade-kit-for-sam
Hope this helps!
I have one of the first gen receiver pads and it charges faster than USB but slower than AC.
check ebay. use search terms like "i9300 qi reciever"
just get the reciever pad.
the best charger pad imo is the nokia ones. they're regularly on sale from 20 -25 bucks for the most part. just do some searching online.

Any Wireless charging system or standard that has the two contacts to fit the contacts that are in the Battery compartment and fits will work....A wireless Standard isn't built into the phones, just the Transmitter and Receiver Coils....
QI wireless charging is nice... However I notice the connector from the QI receiver will interfere with the smart cover slot anyone?
look what i found^^

You can find a quality charger kit on ebay... just to be safe... look for "Top Rated Seller" and someone with high feedback score to be safe..

They are out there. A quick eBay AU search (located near Melbourne):
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OnePlus-...AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item3ce05c5e25
So there must be more out there!
free postage - I highly doubt that if I would ordered it (to Germany) but yeah - something like that. Now i just have to find a less geographically challenging solution.
But thanks for the suggestion.
cheers

EverDock
There is a company called EverDock that was on KickStarter, it features a DOCK where you can switch the plug from forward or reverse, plus you can either use it for Iphone, Ipad, Android Mini USB. There is also a dock they sell that allows two devices to be charged at one time. Here is a link

either way you can see you can use it for different products. I hope this helps. I have the single one.

Any docks made specifically for OPO?
That would be awesome. Been looking for that.
An ideal one would be made out of bamboo, and with bamboo back cover...
I really dunno if this works, but I found a suggestion in another forum: http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00JGRIKOQ/ there I was told this works with the OPO, too.

That one breaks really easily. I've gone through 2 already (removing the phone from the dock eventually breaks the pegs that holds the cable in place).
I ordered this one and like it so far: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009L6AHLQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Can you tell me what exactly breaks on this docking station? which pegs? why at the cable? the cable is on the backside, how does something break there when the phone is being removed?
BTW, stations for the HTC One M8 should be compatible I was told. Has anyone experiences with this?
could this be an alternative?
http://www.amazon.de/Emartbuy®-Funktion-kompatibel-Docking-Ladegerät/dp/B00KC0X98I
or such a universal usb docking station - as long as the usb plug has the right direction?
like http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00JFLV3KG/ref=nosim/andrhilfdeand-21 or http://www.ebay.de/itm/Universal-Do...e-Nexus-5-HTC-Desire-S-Desire-Z-/400802464581
Or is there more to watch out like angle of the plug or the distance to the backside?
Try this one.. It is compatible with OnePlus One.. i have been using this for the past 2 days without problem

it looks like the one from above: http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00JGRIKOQ/
but I am not sure: where does the phone have íts secure stand? Is the phone held by the usb connector only? My last shown examples above have a higher back, which can hold the phone very secure and protect the usb connector against the pressure when using the phone in the dock.
Check out the Lambda-Dock. The connector can be turned and its produced in germany...

3D Printed Wireless Charger Stand

I picked up an inexpensive wireless charger ($12.50) to put on my nightstand but I've bumped my phone in the night a couple times so my phone didn't charge. I drew up and printed a little stand for the wireless charger to sit in and hold the phone while it's charging. This really isn't anything special and I'll be tweaking a few things to make it less bulky but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

This does not fast charge. I'm using it on my night stand and actually prefer that it slow charges overnight. I'm really not a fan of fast charging since things get so warm and LiPo batteries do not like heat.
Id be interested in buying two of them if you could make a square cutout for my charging pads. I can send you dimensions etc if you're interested.
