Moto X case thinner than Incipio Feather or Casemate Barely There? - Moto X Accessories

If I have a case I'd like it to be the absolute thinnest possible so it doesn't detract from the great feel of the Moto X.
Are there any cases out there thinner than either the Incipio Feather or Casemate Barely There?

I have one these in black. Feels great in hand, doesn't add any noticeable bulk.

+1 on this. Nice, thin case...not terribly protective. I have the same case but it has "Anker" branding on it. Got it off Amazon and I believe a few different companies sell them.

Agree re protection, but that's what you trade for "ultra thin". It protects the corners and the back. If you drop it from less than a foot the screen will probably be ok from the raised edges as well.
I swap out my thin "sand" case for the Griffin when I go to the gym (where I have a greater chance to drop the X much harder and/or have it go flying off the cardio machine!). The nice thing about both my X cases is that they are very quick to change on the fly.

Case-Mate Barely There vs. Incipio Feather Hard Shell for LTE Nexus

Anyone have any thoughts on which case is better?--the Case-Mate Barely There or the Incipio Feather Hard Shell.
I want something that won't increase the thickness of my phone too much but will still offer some protection. Thanks!
I have the incipio case and it's pretty nice. Adds a bit more girth, about 1mm in every direction, feels good in my meat paw. It definitely adds some good protection, which is what I'm more concerned about. It has that soft feel plastic and rubber that everyone loves. Biggest complaint is it's a lint magnet.
I have both ordered and they should arrive the first part of the week (according to Amazon). If no one else replies before then, I'll get lots of pics of them both and post my thoughts.
Pacifik: is that the double cover case? I saw that in the Verizon store and didn't like how it had both the silicone case and the hard shell. I'm looking at the one that's just the hard shell (found on their site--I can't post the link because I'm new).
LiquidHonesty: Thanks! I'll be interested to see which one you like more.
I love the look of both these cases. Does anybody have any suggestions for a belt clip holster that will fit either of these cases? I've always used the Seidio combos but the Surface case is thicker than these options.

It is the dual cover case, the hard plastic locks the silicon in place. Need extra protection from all the big machines I work with.

Haven't had a chance to try out the Case-Mate case, but the Feather case is good if you want the LEAST amount of protection, while still having a case on. It is a very nice case in terms of material, because it feels very soft almost like a hardened suede type feel. As with all snap ons though be careful that you don't get sand in the back or that could really scratch up the backside.
Feather case though doesn't protect the top and bottom corners of the phone as well though. I've dropped my nexus s a few times that had a feather case and the corners were always the ones it landed on.. Must've been my bad luck, but in any case, my corners are a bit dented up.

Thanks, that helps a lot. I always managed to drop my OG Droid on the corners too. Maybe I'd be better suited with a full body case.

That's the one that Pacifik is talking about. I have it as well, and it works great. But as Pacifik said, it is a lint magnet haha.

Well the case is 138.6 x 72.6 x 2.3 mm
The Galaxy nexus is 135.5 x 67.9 x 8.9 mm
So about 3-5 mm larger on the width and length, and the thickness would be about 2mm thicker.
isnt the case mate one loose on GSM phones?
Has anyone seen these cases in a store? Would love to see one in person. I thought I read somewhere here that bestbuy has the case mate but I didn't see it at mine.

for the LTE or GSM version?
I have the Incipio Feather Hard Shell case from Verizon. It was between this and the glossy body case they had. I asked the rep if i could try on different cases to i could get a feel for the one i want. This one was hands down the best looking and best fitting. Its a 2 piece case yea. It does attract lint. But its really an awesome case. I got a Zagg screen protector also, and with this and the case, it gives my phone a really premium look. The added thickness isn't really noticeable if ur just using the phone as u normally would IMO. I would honestly choose this over any case out there. Great for, nice stylish look and great protection.

Just to clarify, I'm pretty sure you have the silicrylic case not the feather.

Good protection, easy to remove, looks good and that it will feel good in the hand while not adding bulk to the device I like it thin.
The first case looks like it would add a fair amount of protection, and it's also aesthetically pleasing. It looks like it may add a tiny bit of bulk though; although, it might make it a little more pleasing to hold.
The second case doesn't seem that it would offer a lot of protection, but the holster is definitely a plus, and the case is fairly slim.

If you like it thin, then cross that first option off the list. Duo layered "hybrid" cases aren't thin by design. The thinnest I know, is from Seidio, with very nice in-hand feel and good protection.
The other white case with the holster won't offer you top or bottom protection if you ever drop it. So cross that off as well.
If you want single layer solution, you should consider TPU, it's a popular choice for a reason (beside price). CruzerLite and Diztronic are good options. CruzerLite's Androidified cases are noticeable thinner than Diztronic's classy version, but both are recommended. I wouldn't recommend any white TPU though, since they love to suck up color that rubs against them.
What I'm currently using now is a bumper case. There's a few threads about it. My version did have the TPU separation problem, but once I've placed a few dabs of superglue on area, I've experienced only satisfaction with the case. Here's the eBay page for it. I bought one copy from a similar seller, and a couple more from an online website that have stopped offering them. Needless to say, price have risen up a bit since when I bought them last.

I have the VZW GNex. The bumper fits just fine. The top rim doesn't completely fold over onto the screen, but unless you're super OCD, it's negligible. The overall feel of the phone + case won me over. You should at least try it. For only 3 bucks (when I bought it), it's a great case for me.

Torn between a few cases. Can you help me decide?

Hey guys,
I am looking into buying a case now, and after looking through some threads here, I think I will pick one of these three:
Diztronic TPU case: http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Flexible-Protector-International-Packaging/dp/B0089F49P0/ref=?ie=UTF8&m=A2HOCXU5SC35JO
Ringke Slim Lite: http://www.rearthusa.com/galaxy_s3_slim_lite_kit
Incipio Silicrylic: http://www.amazon.com/Incipio-SA-302-Silicrylic-Silicone-Samsung/dp/B0085VAP38/ref=sr_1_1_m?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1342098764&sr=1-1&keywords=galaxy+s3+incipio
The most important thing for a case to me is drop protection, followed by thinness.
I have heard good things about all these cases, so I feel that I can't go wrong, but I'm having a hard time choosing.
Also, if you know of any other cases that you really like and offer good drop protection.. let me know
Edit: Looks like I'll go with the Incipio.. Thanks for the replies

If drop protection is top on you list then take the Rearth off the list. TPU is quite hard when compared to silicone, in a drop test the Silicrylic case will not doubt be much better.

+1 I currently use the Ringke but only because it's thin and provides enough protection to prevent scratches while still preserving the beauty of the device. I also have the Diztronic tpu and it should provide enough protection for low drops.

My silicrylic and my gs3 both showed up yesterday.
The case is very nice and definitely offers drop protection. The silicone doesn't seem to attract dust and lint like I thought it would.
I used to have a seidio active on my evo 3d which is the same type of case, so I thought I knew what to expect. I have to say though the incipio case is much nicer than the seidio case was. It is very sleek for what it is and the silicone isn't at all tacky like the seidio case was. It is very smooth and slides in and out of a pocket very nicely.
The all black looks nice on my blue gs3 too which is great.
I basically bought this case for times I may want a little extra protection, but I am so happy with it I think I will use it as my primary case. Fyi I ordered from Amazon and it only cost me $17 shipped.
I'm liking that incipio
I have this casemate one because it was all I could find the second day I had the phone. They come in all black now
Definitely buy the Incipio Silicrylic.
I have actually bought all 3 types of cases for my S3 that you listed in your OP, so my opinion matters more than these other guys! j/k -- 1) TPU (Cruzerlite ($10); similar to Diztronic and $1 versions on ebay); 2) Hard polycarb shell (Rock Quicksand ($10); similar to rinke); 3) Hybrid (Incipio ($18)).
After trying all the cases on, I can only recommend the Incipio if you care anything at all about protecting your phone, while looking good, and without adding as much bulk as an otterbox. The Incipio's Silicone sides and the hard case itself is also grippier than the others, and doesn't attract lint at all like my $0.99 silicone lint magnet on my old Captivate.
(Throw the screen protector that comes with the Incipio away, though. Crap quality)
I have the incipio and like it a lot...tried a letterbox commuter but took it back because I liked the incipio that much better...

I dunno, if thinness is number 2 you should stay far away from the incipio. It is definitely a fatty.
I say just suck it up and get the ringke or diztronic and just be more careful.
Look no further!!!
Seriously... you should +1 this ish.

The Incipio is an excellent choice. I bought all three and find the Incipio to be far superior, mostly due to protection capabilities.

I love my Incipio Silicrylic White/Gray case, but I just ordered an Otterbox Defender for the times when I feel I need a little added protection.
The only thing I don't like about the Incipio Silicrylic is that it doesn't have quite as much grip on the hard shell as I expected it to. Otherwise, it looks great, seems to protect well (though I haven't dropped it yet, and don't plan to), and doesn't gather lint.
If I wasn't so afraid of the phone slipping out of my pocket, like my iPod does all the time, I wouldn't even use a case.
But, a good case is a lot cheaper than total protection insurance. It costs more over the course of 2 years with deductible than I originally paid for the phone with contract. An an Otterbox Defender only costs $30-$50.
My vote is for the incipio
If you don't mind the extra bulk and want the peace of mind stick with the defender. The bulk is not bad, and it makes the phone feel like it's made of more premium material, I own it and it's great!

Otterbox vs UAG vs Trident

Hi i'm looking for a case for my HTC one and can't decide on to get either the Otterbox Commuter, Urban Armor Gear, or Trident Aegis. I like all three cases but can't decide. Can you guys/girls help me out?? If you want you can also suggest some other case that are protective but still stylish. Thanks!!!
You should check out the Incipio DualPro CF case it is one of my absolute favorites.
Easy choice the UAG, with the Otterbox the rubber piece will stretch and fit loose, the Trident looks very childish, that thing look like it was made by Fisher Price. I don't own a HTC One but in July i will have a year with a Orange UAG case on a Galaxy S3, still in perfect condition :good:

UAG for sure. I like the Commuter pretty well but I'm afraid that the inside rubber piece will stretch eventually.
UAG is solid. Just got a white one myself and really like it.

Does the UAG cover the power button? It looks like it does in the pix on the website but I can't tell.
By the way, the commuter rubber will not stretch, Otterbox is a very good case. The UAG looks too damn bulky but I may check it out anyway.

It isn't bulky at all if you're comparing to the Commuter. They're pretty much the same. And yes, the power button is covered, but not completely. It is hollowed out in the middle to allow for absolutely no lost functionality to the IR sensor.
The only reason I say the Commuter's inside piece might stretch is from past experience. The one for this phone does feel much better made, though, so maybe they solved that problem.
The UAG is the only case anyone should consider getting.

Got the Trident Aegis yesterday, had one on my last phone. Works pretty well, looks better than you might think from the pictures. Plus my kid likes to toss my phone around so I'm confident the rubber bumpers can absorb a pretty good drop.
Loving otterbox commuter fits great so does rubber no probs here ! Time will tell can't complain 25$ on amazon !

I have the dev edition so it looks good and you can still see through the back and it has that soft touch feel that the ringke slim has on my galaxy nexus. I also like that it does not cover the M dimple on the back.

The power support shell is slimmer than the in case and comes with an anti scratch coating. The shell is nice in that there are no seams on the inside so it has less chance of scratching your phone. Haven't had the chance to really test it as I'm waiting for my moto x replacement but I'll snap some pics afterward. If you are into the hard minimalist case big don't want to introduce scratches, this seems the best option for now.

Received Anker case. Despite being sandy texture, the case is very slippery.
It also does not protect all corners. Highly disappointed, because its look is very nice.
Why don't all cases have the moto indentation on the back confuses me.
i bought both the poetic pallete and the bear motion cases. of the 2, i like the bear motion better with the grippier texture. However, that said, neither fit my phone well at all and won't stay locked into place. YMMV
I have bought the anker sandpaper, incipio feather, poetic, as well as two bumper cases from some HK-based vendor. Of the 3 minimalist "cases", I use the incipio the most. Truth be told, the poetic has a better (but nearly identical) texture to it, but the bottom is shaped in such a way where it digs into my small finger when holding it (I have my finger running parallel along the very bottom). If the incipio kept the dimple, it'd be my daily driver. I use the bumper cases more often than not and whenever I do grab one of the minimalist ones, it's always the incipio.

I have the Incipio Folio which includes a feather. Basically, you have a the feather case, and then you can snap that into a wallet style flip case. The only gripe I have about the feather is it contours to the phone too well... If you have the phone on a flat surface it just spins and flops around if you poke at it.
