this will replace the bootanimation of motorola(the world) and don't affect your bootlogo

Thanks for this!
I can only seem to get part of the animation working. I turn the phone on and i get a world and google screen. After about 5 seconds the GPE boot animation then starts. Could this be down to your unlocked bootloader message fix that ive applied?
Thanks.

In answer to my own question i have fixed it! I flashed the GPE startup logo from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548530

Can I just flash it with CWM?

thx for sharing,I'm able to power on moto g in dark places without warning about my eyes

Thanks
Thanks alot for this nice bootanimation ,Now i can finaly get rid of that ugly white one

i cant seem to replace my bootanimation. Im using ES File Explorer, and it's saying directory is "read-only"! is there any workarounds in here? I used to replace my old phones bootanimation, and ES File Explorer worked just fine..

In ES File Explorer, click on settings(top left) and scroll down to Root Explorer. Toggle it to on(if not already) and then click the words "Root Explorer". This will bring up a menu. Select "mount r/w" then select r/w for the system partition.
It was simpler in older versions of es.

Thanks!

No, just put the new bootanimation and accept overwrite.

I tried both ways and it was not

/data/local/moodle/
That's correct location of boot animations if you have installed Motorola boot services

[BOOT IMAGE] ANDROID boot image

ok so this is the stock android boot image where ANDROID in android font flashes across the screen. there is no lag and looks very nice. follow the steps bellow to install.
WARNING - ANYTHING THAT MODIFIES THE FILES ON YOUR PHONE MAY DAMAGE IT. ONLY FOLLOW THE STEPD BELLOW IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!
To be able to do this you will need root explorer.
you can buy this off the android market or find it online
1 - install root explorer onto your phone trough some sort of file manager
2 - download the bootanimation.zip file from the link below
3 - place it in the root of your sd card ( if on the xda app it will be in your downloads folder)
4 - open root explorer and switch to be able to write
5 - copy the boot.img file from your sd card to system/media and delete the boot image or animation already there( if that doesnt work try data/local )
6 - reboot your phone to make sure the boot animation is working properly

Unfortunately I have to disagree. This is the stock built in bootanimation. You don't need any special files to envoke it.
If you simply remove the /system/media/bootanimation.zip you get the same results.
Don't take it the wrong way, perhaps you were just miss informed.

That's probably because our actual boot animation is bootanimation_sprint.zip and we have a bootanimation.zip for the lg logo. You'll have to change a name in whatever zip you are applying. Then it should work.... or if not we'll have to change something in whatever tells the system which ones to flash. (build.prop?)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1985103
here it is
Edit: this one doesn't work. Epic found a working one, see page 2

Should have specified... did you renamethe zip file IN the zip file and then zip them both back up properly?
Edit: Dangit... didn't work. I've tried a lot of stuff now... I'm going to try editing the sprint bootanimation itself next.
Edit 2: Holy crap its after 5 am
Ok i finally got it.. I think I had a couple bad boot animations. Just renamed the animation to bootanimation_sprint.zip, didn't bother with the normal bootanimation.zip yet. Set it to 644 (rw/r/r) permissions. I successfully got this one to work, for reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1402764 Here is the actual boot animation file that should be fine to put in system media without renaming. Just check the permissions: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/31205865/bootanimation_sprint.zip It wouldn't be too hard to make a flashable one but I couldn't find any that used the right script and its almost 6 am. goodnight.
That boot animation is the original nexus boot up screen.

[REQ] Nexus 4 boot logo

Hi
Does anybody have a CWM flashable Zip for the Nexus4 Boot Logo.
Just flashed a ROM & I have the boring old "Android" on startup.
I'd like to have the glowing Nexus "X" logo back again
Thanks.:good:
I'd just download a ROM with it and extract it. However, you might like this. Don't remember where i found it but it matches the nexus perfectly.
Here's a better idea of what you're looking at.
you mean boot animation
I use the bootanimation provided above and like it. Works on my Galaxy Nexus also.
Here's the link for the original X from the Nexus One. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1402764 I actually prefer this over the new X.
Tried flashing this in CWM and nothing changed...

What he said. Unless the person who posted it says its a flashable bootanimation.
To verify, open up the zip file. If it's a bunch of folders named /part0/ /part1/ etc then its not flashable.
Flashable: has a folder to /data/... or /system/media
chances are they're not flashable. but open to check.
Same here,
after I tried to get a custom boot animation it only shows the default "android" logo on boot.
I messed with the premissions in /styem/media/ can I revert that ?
+1 for the idea of a flashable version - specifically one compatible with Cyanogenmod
I have been running nightlies via CyanDelta and would LOVE to have a bootanimation zip that I could plop in the auto-install script to bring back the stock Nexus 'x' boot. Sadly every flashable bootanimation for the original nexus logo I have tried seems to install the files in the wrong location for CM.

store the bootanimation in /data/local/
after flashing a new nightly or whatever, it will keep your bootanimation. only way for it to reset is if you do a factory reset. enjoy.
(worked on my galaxy nexus, not sure if it works on N4 but it should, try it, shouldnt harm you.. pretty positive that its the same on N4)
edit: the bootanimation i linked earlier is a cwm flashable one. to manually do it just extract bootanimation.zip from the zip file downloaded.

Thanks for the tip! Just tried the manual push to /data/local but no joy. Upon boot it was blank, and the nightly flash restored the CM default in any event. Might be a permissions issue - should 644 and be owned by system, correct?

Its a flashable zip too. Worked on my AOKP ROM back in the day, along with cyanogen.
Just read that threads OP. He himself extracted it from his G Nex, so it *TECHNICALLY SPEAKING* is safe to flash on our phones. But still, remember to have a nandroid for any *just in case* moment.

Once edited boot up is black. Now i get the normal htc white and then it goes to black with android in the centre. Where that came from I have no idea. Appreciate any advice. Cheers....

No you don't. The reason he is only seeing a black screen is because when he made his bootanimation.zip he compressed the zip file.
The animation cannot be compressed.
Use a program like 7zip to make the zip file and use store as the compression type. Then it will work

Bootanimation- Android Andy pees on Apple- My favorite

Here is a resized version of the android pee on Apple bootanimation that I found on the Rom toolbox but for some reason wouldn't display on my note 2 even if I resized within the application. To me it's much better lookin than the fat tinkle peeling droid that I found here and its resized correctly. Credit goes to the original animation author which I have no clue whom that may be.
Here's the sample I uploaded to YouTube for you guys
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vphIEzGJuno&feature=youtube_gdata_player
are u rooted? if yes... then do these steps verbatim to change your boot animation on your note 2.
STEP 1: download THIS file and do NOT extract it or anything (use your computer or phone... its like 100mb so i reckon you best be on WiFey to be safer from a broken dload)
STEP 2:
if using your computer to download , plug ur phone in to mount usb and moved the file to your sd card or your internal memory [ EX:Computer\SPH-L900\Phone or Computer\SPH-L900\Card ] (OR use a program like Android Commander to make things a little easier and put the file directly into the /system/media directory of your phone.... hint:the 'system' folder is located in the PARENT FOLDER of your SDCARD directory .... aka your ROOT directory)
if downloaded using your phone browser.... just use any root file manager (eg:I use ROM Toolbox Pro's Root file Browser, but there are dozens of other app like root explorer, ES File Explorer File Manager, ASTRO file Manager i think works too if u have the pro version but dont hold me to it) and use the Move to or the Copy To feature within any of those apps to move the file manually to your /system/media/ directory. You can just overwrite the one that is already there or just add a .bak or .EAD or .GTH to the end of the file name of the file you wanna backup thats already there BEFORE moving the new Android Peeing animation you downloaded in the first step.
IMPORTANT- DO NOT RENAME OR EXTRACT THE ZIP FILE YOU DOWNLOADED IN STEP 1... the file MUST BE NAMED bootanimation.zip
STEP 3- Using your root file managing joint appy proggy thingys Permissions editor (normally u just long click the file you wanna set permissions for and the edit permissions option will pop up somewhere) set the pemissions (or verify them) to this...
OWNER- READ WRITE
GROUP- READ
OTHERS- READ
or another way of saying this is RW-R--R--
Step 4 - SAVE or ACCEPT changes....
Step 5 - Reboot to make sure bootanimation is changed
Step 6 - Reboot again in a busy elevator or place where some iPhags can see over your shoulder.... and grin maliciously.
Step 7- :highfive: click the thanks button if u want or pm me if u have some bitcoins u managed to accumulate somehow and wanna donate em to me
