[How To] Installing ClockworkMod Recovery On Samsung WIND T999V! EASY!!! - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Ok guys, after about 3 days of search i finally find how to install Clockworkmod Recovery (Touch Version) on my WIND T999V so im sharing it with you!
Assuming you are already rooted right? Ok then read on!
If not then i suggest you follow mrRobinson's thread on how to root.
Note: THIS METHOD WILL TRIP YOUR COUNTER!!!
So if you worrying about that then please read how to remove that using Triangle Away here
I would like to quickly say im not responsible if you brick your device! so please take the necessary precautions etc
Ok lets move on.
Files needed:
FIRST Make Sure that the Samsung USB drivers are installed. You can find it here
Odin: Located here
CWM Recovery: Located here (Although this is for T999V other phones are listed but im not sure if the procedures are the same)
MD5 Checker: Located here (This is to check your download files to see if they are complete or correct files)
Download Odin.
Turn off your Phone and Turn it On While Pressing, Volume Down + Home + Power button until you see the download mode screen, Press Volume Up to continue.
Open Odin in Computer and connect your device to PC, while it is in the Download mode.
If your Phone is successfully connected to PC, the Odin port will turn Yellow with COM port number and in the status section you see <Added!>.
Now Click on PDA and select the File "recovery-cwmtouch-6.0.4.3-d2tmo.tar" (would be better to rename it something like recovery.tar).
In Odin, Check Auto reboot and F.Reset Options if they are not already checked.
Now Click the start button and wait for the process to complete.
After the installation is complete you device will restart and once you see the Home Screen, unplug the cable.
You should now have CWM Recovery installed!
To check turn your phone off and press Volume Down + Home + Power.
OPTION 2
Ok so after a few more brain storming, trials and error i found out that i can actually install CWM from ROM Manager without going through the above process. Anyways i am leaving it just in case some users need it.
Now its simple to get CWM for your phone!
First Download ROM Manager (if you are rooted)
Open the app
Select Recovery Setup
Select INSTALL OR UPDATE RECOVERY
Select the Option Button >>>>>

}
Select Show All Devices
Select Ok at the popup
Scroll Down untill you see Samsung Galaxy S3 (T-Mobile) (it should have d2tmo below it)
Select It
Select Flash ClockworkMod Recovery
Wait until its finish and you are good to go
Note: If you want to support the dev you can Select YES at the Flash ClockworkMod Touch before you Select Flash ClockworkMod Recovery its just $1.99!
Its easier to use anyways!

2nd method with ROM MANAGER worked well on my wind s3.
Thanks for sharing

Root is not required for the first step. Both methods will work for all T999 variants in case anyone is wondering. Good write up

[Q] I may have bricked my phone

All,
I'm a NOOB, so bear with me here. I've recently rooted my phone and am trying to install syndicate ROM.
seemed pretty straight forward. I have clockworkMod Recovery v.2.5.1.0 I copied the zip file to my SD card.
Selected wipe data/factory reset
selected install zip from sdcard
selected choose zip from sd card
manually search for the zip file sydicatefro110-standard-signed.zip
seems to load fine and goes back to clockwork Mod menu
go back and select reboot now
phone stays at opening screen that displays Samsung title with samsungmobile.com
Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated.
You did not brick your phone in any way. A brick is when it will not turn on no matter what you do.
(One of my biggest pet peeves is people calling what isn't a brick, a brick.)
Follow these instructions and your phone will work perfectly: http://tinyurl.com/epicfix
EDIT: And next time you flash a ROM READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. If you go back to the SRF thread and take a look at what it says to do, you will know precisely why you ended up with a bad result.

Well your problem is the fact that Syndicate ROM is EXT4 only and you rooted using RFS. You need to use the root method that installs Clockworkmod 3.0.0.5 not the one that installs 2.5.1.0. Go ahead and do that, when it boots into clockwork let it convert everything to EXT4 and then install Syndicate again.

no i just put the zip file on my sd card then holding down the "down vol" i powered up the phone. It then loaded the zip file and went back to the screen with fastboot, recovery, clear storage, simlock, hboot usb. i removed the battery and rebooted. I guess that is not the correct way.

Are you using amon?
I am not sure what you mean about amon? This is the thread i downloaded the all in one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118063
Are you S-Off? Turn off your phone, hold volume down + power button, and look at the screen. At the top, does it say S-Off?
If it says S-On, you can't do anything. If it says S-Off, then look in my signature for my recovery. AmonRa. Click the link, download the PC36IMG.zip and put it on the root of your SD card. Turn off your phone, hold volume down + power button, and look at the screen. It'll ask you if you want to update. Yes, you do.
Go back to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118063
Download the All-in-One again. Turn off your phone, hold volume down + power button, and look at the screen. It'll ask you if you want to update. Yes, you do.
It says "S on" what does this status mean?
So now i have spent the day reading all about rom's and rooting i have found most answers. S= security on since i have not rooted my device before. I now understand that there is nothing i can do untill a root is available for the 2.3
Is there anything that con be done to a stock non rooted device with 2.3 to get the wireless tethering ?
No wireless tether, sorry. Use pdanet for wired tethering, but look in the development section. There is a thread about modified Rosie that will work for unrooted.

Try this
To download a ftf(a flashable file this is in types choose your type e.g, my mobile is
Xperia m c2004 so I choose "Firmware C2004 15.2.A.2.5 Generic Unbranded Brazil (4.2.2 JB)"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2697277
And this by myself
Do as I say don't add anything
Now first of all download these
1.Flash tool (I know you already have)
2.Download CWM.img link(ignore if you already have)
LINK2-http://fs1.d-h.st/download/00124/TY6....1.5%20ROM.img
3.open flashtool and select flash icon and choose Fastboot
4.Now connect your device while pressing volume down button(device must be switched off by removing direct battery)
6.flashtool will show message "device connected in fastboot" then continue to next step
5.Now after choosing fastboot menu there is a option "Select a kernal to flash" select that option and browse the folder where you have downloaded CWM.img now you can't see that .img File because the browse the location that you have selected has by default extension ".sin" just select it to ".img"(see attachments) and flash it.
6.After this Turn on device and the notification below device glows pink.Abruptly hold volume up button and enter CWM recovery and select mounts s backup and format /system /boot /cache /data.
7.Now connect it to flashmode and flash the desired ftf(don't flash any other) choose from top given link
8.Comment Straight forward it works or not

[FIXED] adb sideload "timed out waiting for package"

Hi guys, i'm new in this forum, so please pardon me if i did something wrong.
i really need a help now, my asus zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) got bricked Yesterday.
this is the timeline why my zenfone 2 got bircked:
1. I rooted my phone without cwm or anything else on around 2 weeks ago
2. Yesterday, i recieved the firmware update message (auto download) and i accidentaly clicked on update now without unrooting first.
3. My phone stuck on the logo screen, loading forever (softbrick?)
4. i've tried to factory reset and wipe all the system cache via recovery mode, but it didn't wok.
5. i looked at some forum and youtube said that i can flash rom my device to unbrick my device with 2 ways : via adb and microsd.
6. using adb sound promising, so i learnt how to flash rom via adb and i downloaded the latest firmware on the official website.
7. i tried to flash rom via adb: i've put the firmware zip on adb folder and open windows command in that folder, i connected my zenfone 2 with usb and start to "apply update from adb" and type "adb sideload xxxx.zip".
8. several times later i got message: "timed out waiting for package, installation aborted".
9. i repeated step 7 and 8 for almost 5 times and the results are same
Can someone help me? I'm really frustated now cause i can't using my phone or maybe share the reference about flash rom with microsd, because i've tried it but i don't really understand how to do it
Thx. in advance for all of you
nb: i've tried to search in this forum, but i didn't find correct answer for me

FIXED!!!
FINALLY I FOUND HOW TO FIX IT IN THIS SITE http://www.asus.com/zentalk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=39487 THE PROBLEM IS PERSIST WITH MINE AND FINALLY I DIDN'T NEED TO STPCK RECOVERY! THX FOR THE REPLIES GUYS
since you know how to go into recovery mode so i'll skip that part,
use this adb tool instead https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001607611
If you have an external sdcard take it out and copy the firmware you want to side load and copy it to the external sdcard. Now name it "MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip" and reboot to fastboot and choose recovery. It should automatically flash the firmware. Move it to a folder when you are done or it will install automatically every time you reboot to recovery.

Flashed corrupted boot image and now can't can't boot into bootloader or recovery

Hi all.
Did a stupid thing.
I downloaded firmware file for my Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G (SM-G988B) Exynos as an MD5 file and extracted the file which came out as a .img file instead of .lz4 (which I overlooked until the damage was done!).
So not noticing the file was the wrong type, I used 7-Zip to tar it, copied it to my phone's SD card, then patched it with latest Magisk manager app. After this, I copied it back to my laptop and flashed this file using Odin.
Result: Phone goes to insecure boot warning screen but of course here it goes wrong:
It won't proceed to booting up
Power+volume up key combination or power alone do nothing no matter how long you hold them in
It boots to to same insecure boot warning screen if you use either power+volume down, or power+volume down+volume up key combination with cable unplugged. With cable plugged in it restarts to a charging icon, which promptly freezes, and stays on the screen even if you unplug the cable.
I have managed to get it into stock recovery by holding power+volume up+volume down randomly once in a while (usually it goes to insecure boot warning screen as usual), but if I select Reboot to bootloader, it does not manage to open download mode, and hangs on red text that says "entering fastboot mode"
QUESTION: If I can get it back into recovery, is there a way to re-flash stock firmware without download mode on this device using ADB (or any other method)?
Or is my phone a brick for good?
FIXED!
I managed to flash an Android 11 One UI 3.0 Beta via ADB sideload. While it didn't finish properly due to corrupted boot image and possibly not the prerequisite firmware, all was not lost. It ran okay right to the end, when it said "installation aborted".
Once I had got this far Download mode was working again, THANK HEAVENS!
Opened Odin, and flashed away. I'm now back on Stock firmware and didn't even lose my data thanks to the vbmeta_disabled file I flashed in USERDATA section.
Talk about getting out of Jail!
