Sophisticase Frameless Case Review - Nexus 7 (2013) Accessories

Thanks to MobileFun for providing me with the Sophisticase Frameless Case, they have a large range of accessories for any mobile/tablet device especially the nexus 7 so it is worth checking them out
The case is slim overall and has a fake leather textured finish on the outside and on the inside we have a grey soft touch fabric. All of the buttons and ports are accessible.

As you can see, we also have a hand strap.
Fitting the nexus 7 is very easy, the fit overall is pretty much perfect, you are able to remove the case quickly if needed.
One of the areas that I really like about this case is that you can use it as a desk stand, there are two angles to choose from that make it perfect for video watching.
The case is pretty light.
Another feature I love is that the case is compatible with the sleep and wake function of the nexus 7 i.e. when you open the case, the screen automatically turns on and when you close the case, the screen goes off.
In terms of protection, it is great for protection from scrapes and minor knocks but I wouldn't expect it to do too well come to high drops onto concrete...
Conclusion:
Overall this is a fantastic case especially when you consider the price! It might not be the best for protection from high drops but it will protect the nexus 7 tablet from the majority of small drops, scrapes and most importantly protect the screen from scratches. If you are wanting more protection, you will just have to put up with the extra bulk and weight from the likes of the Trident Aegis Case and Seidio Dilex Case.
I can't really fault this case at all except for the speaker cut outs, they are poorly done and cover most of the speaker grille holes.
Pros:
Cheap
Acts as a landscape desk dock with two angles to choose from
Minimal bulk & light
Nice finish overall
Sleep/Wake magnet function
Cons:
Speaker cut outs poorly done

Looks exactly like the $5 Moko case I bought back in July...
Sums it up nicely.

[Review] EpikCas.es Clear Frost TPU Case

Last Thursday I received a case from here, but there was a lot going on that day so I was delayed in posting pics and a review. Here's the goods:

The other cases, for comparison, are the Rearth Ringke in black and an argyle style TPU I got off Amazon. The Ringke case was awesome in the beginning- fit with the car dock with insert removed, worked with the standard dock with alternate cover plate, had a decent grip to it...but just stretched out over time and got to be annoying. The argyle TPU I got when I first got the phone, but it didn't work with the docks at all and showed fingerprints very easily. So I figured I would give this one a try.
The pros:
-the two-tone style is kinda catchy, the matte finish section gives it an interesting feel
-it's a little less bulky than the other TPU case
-doesn't really show any fingerprints
-pretty tight fit, feels pretty sturdy
-most ports easily accessible (volume rocker a little tricky) and it's easier to swipe your finger on the biometrics scanner than the other TPU I've used
The cons:
-not that easy to get off, if you prefer docking without a case or to remove SIM and external SD for frequent flashing.
-not a fit with docking, although you could press firmly enough to register, it's not reliable
-the front lip offsets a bit at the charge/hdmi ports because the material is thinner at that spot, the only area that the case doesn't cover the edge of the screen protector
-doesn't cover the volume rocker, and it is not that easy to acces
All in all, if you aren't one for silicone/jelly cases and you don't use the docks, this would be a very good case for you. It seems pretty rugged for a TPU case, I am not nervous about the phone staying protected with it on. I'm going to rock it for a while, I'll update if I think of anything else.
i was thinking about getting this one too, not the frost one just the black. I decided not to because the ports look porely cut out, etc. that sucks, it is a unique cause though! thanks
I have two of this style case - blue and black - i like them both, but i like the Seidio Active case MUCH MUCH better - full access to all ports, and the biometric scanner is not interfered with AT ALL!! Not to mention MUCH better protection.

Review - Tech21 Special Ops, Impact Band, Rock rep, DIY earbuds

Received a free blue Rock replica snap case when I renewed my contract. Love the grip, feel and low profile. Sadly, it's only good for putting the phone face down and preventing the side/back from scratches...and it matches pebble blue well but looks too kid'ish. Biggest concern is it offers no drop protection at all.
Anyway, I wanted a Tech21 Impact band because I was sold by the youtube vids offering full protection. I got the Special Ops which essentially is the Impact Band soft shell and a 2 piece reinforced soft touch polycarb shell, combined to be a rugged tank of a case. It was free, so I'm going to complain.

IMPACT BAND
The translucent smoke finish matches well with the pebble blue and allows the 3DO to be seen satisfying the more mature and geeky look for me.
Looks like it'll protect just fine although I'm not going to put it to the test. Fit is tight, holes line up, ports are nice and opened, volume gives good clicking feedback. Lip allows for face down. Downside is power button feels a bit soft and spongy and with the 3DO, it adds a bit of width to the overall feel. Also leaves oil/ fingerprints
vs no case
vs Rock replica case

SPECIAL OPS SHELL
This thing is a TANK. With the Impact Band, this is the ultimate protection rugged case.
I'll probably only be using this case when hiking and biking, but finish has a soft feel, fit and finish is very good, locking door for the USB port is very solid. Downside is it adds significant bulk to your phone.
vs no case
installed vs Rock replica case
3M CF VINYL WRAP
Was bored, and since the Impact Band is translucent, I wanted to change it up a little. Easy to apply, but due to the curves on the edges, no way you can get a perfect clean wrap, even with heat. Looks very cool, but I'd only do it if you're using a bumper or clear case...wouldn't do it naked.
OEM S3 EARBUD CABLE with SONY MDR-EX300 IEM.
I love me my music and I love the OEM control/mic, so to have the best of both worlds, behold, my Frankenphone. The Sony buds sounds amazing, and one day I'll invest in the 700's. These are the perfect choice due to price (you won't find better sounding IEM at this price point), and the easiness to take apart and quality of sound.
Apologies for the huge post and wall of text..

Review of KLD Iceland series slim folio case for S4 w/lots of pics!!!

I honestly had no intention to review another S4 case (as you all know I do a ton of reviews here, link in my signature), but when I got this case for someone else - it just looked so cool for such a dirt cheap price, I had to review it. So here you go, Review of KLD (Kalaideng) Iceland series slim folio case. http://www.tvc-mall.com/details/KLD...laxy-S4-S-IV-i9500-i9505-i9502-MLC-I9500-212/
You really don't have high expectations when the case cost $3.83, but once you open it up and see how original the finish looks - you'll be surprised. The inner PC holder/shell is super slim with a secure grip and all the precise cutouts for power/volume/camera/flash/speaker ports. It's a typical design with wrapped around sides and open top/bottom. What makes it unique, and I do have to admit it's targeted for ladies, is the finish of the cover. It's obviously PU leather material and feels like that to the touch, but the visual has this frosted finish. Once closed, it should keep S4 screen from scratches, and also has a cutout at the top to continue using a phone even with a cover closed. Just a basic folio case with a very nice finish, and also a fancy packaging at one fantastic price. Here are the pictures.

Since this is for the ladies, I want to make sure guys are not left out I had a lot of other stuff ordered from TVC-Mall.com as well, including this cool 11-in-1 multifunction tool: http://www.tvc-mall.com/details/Fas...nction-Tool-with-Free-Leather-Pouch-HHC-2030/
I know it's only $1, but this is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Measured approximately 69mm x 45mm and about 2mm thick, it's smaller than a credit card, made out of heavy duty stainless steel, and has 11 built in tool which are actually useful and functional. Everything from can and bottle openers, to flat screwdriver, a ruler, a hex and butterfly screw wrench, knife edge and saw blade. The only thing, it doesn't come with a leather pouch per description but rather a thick plastic one. Honestly, I wouldn't expect a leather pouch for $1 anyway. I actually got a few to keep it in my cars. Here are the pictures.

Spigen Slim Armor 14.95
Great Feel
Great Fit 100% everything lines up nice.
No kickstand
Nice Look good colors to
Button feel really good.
Seems well protected
not easy to take off it feels like it's going to break a button
Kaycase with kickstand 14.95
Very slim for a case with a kickstand only added thickness is because of the kickstand.
Feels plasticy, kind of Cheap, but the grip with the ridges is nice.
Fit is good everything lines up,
Buttons are hard to press, that's because of the not so rubber case, like i said feels kind of plasticy
Kickstand is Good ,nothing that's going to fall apart, only one angle
It doesn't seem like it's well protected
i-Blason Armor Box 14.99
The case is definitely rugged and well built
Doesn't really fit 100% seems loose when put into the case
Buttons are nice and easy to press, it has a nice rubber feel when holding it
only 1 cut-out for the screen protector, So i used my own screen protector, and then the case didn't seem to fit at all.
Had to cut off the charging port protector, because of to much pressure on the plug.
Greatshield Legacy series 11.95
Well build nice rubber feel from hard case and soft rubber inside
Fit is 100% nice and tight
Screen protector has all cut-outs
Kickstand feels cheap like it could break off however it snaps back in pretty easy
good colors to choose from.
Really nice profile with kickstand and seems like it could take a pretty good drop.
The winner is the Greatshield number two is Spigen I couldn't stand having my phone in either Kaycase or i-blanson
Reason
The hard case wraps around to the front, it's 11.95 shipped, and when pulling off the case it doesn't really put any pressure on the buttons... Easy on/off for cleaning.

Review of Miicalo notebook diary case for Note 3 w/lots of pics!!!

This is a review of Miicalo Notebook Diary two-color case for Note 3. http://www.tvc-mall.com/details/Not...9000-Yellow-Dark-Blue-MLC-N9005-61G/?adtype=1
When it comes to smartphone cases, for some it's like a wardrobe accessory. Especially if such case cost a few bucks, has a decent build quality, and will make you stand out from a crowd - you can never go wrong with it. Based on my previous experience, tvc-mall has been my go to place for any cool looking case on a budget. In my opinion, they got one of the largest selection of smartphone accessories, and a great service. With my latest order, actually headphones (review coming up soon, just keep checking a link in my sig), I browsed through their catalog of latest arrivals and this particular case caught my eye because of it's unique look.
The case arrived in a very nice brand name package. What made it unique is a synthetic leather design which looks like a cover of notebook diary with binding rings. It had a very impressive details with a leather cover made to look like a denim material with a stitching around it and plastic binding rings which actually open up. Inside, the top cover had a soft felt material to make sure it doesn't scratch the screen of Note 3 and also 2 pockets to hold either a credit card or a driver license. The back part of the case had an attached clear TPU case to hold the Note 3. The TPU case has a full wrap around design with a precise cutouts for all the ports and a flexible cover area next to volume and power buttons to make it easy to push.
Overall, this is definitely one interesting looking case which could easy be mistaken from a distance as a notebook diary. Obviously, this case is not intended for rugged protection, although inner tpu case will provide some level of protection. I guess the main purpose of this case is to hide the Note 3 under a cover of a neat looking notebook diary. For less than $4 and considering a decent quality of the material, I think its a good value which comes in 7 different color combos.
Here are the pictures.

Thanks for sharing us your case, but i still prefer to use my note without case is so beautiful and tiny.
Thanks but the colors are ugly and the rings are bulky.
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
That ring will be so annoying for me. But beautiful looking and nice review!
