Packaging:
As per Diztronic Style, the packaging is minimalistic. Simple and easy to open. It's nice to not to see money isn't going for flash of presentation but towards substance to the actual product.
Build Quality/Design
Once again, Diztronic opted for a two tone style; where the majority is this nice soft matte finish with accents of glossy black. It's designed very tastefully. The gloss accents flows well with the matte finish and is seemless in its presentation. The front bezel/frame is glossy and the rest is almost entirely matte black. One very nice touch I'd like to point out, the "buttons" are matte but are outlined with the gloss finish border. It made the buttons "pop" out more and was just very visually appealing imo. Also, the cutout for the camera is outlined in the gloss finish to breakup the dominating matte finish on the back. The biggest difference between the this case and the older one would be the back, it has a "window" showing the nexus logo. There is a plastic film protector that I didn't remove when taking the pictures but its a nice clear sturdy plastic. Last; the Diztronic logo was moved from the back to the side at the bottom right (also in the Gloss finish). Very nice job Diztronic, the style of the case flows very well that isn't too dull and boring but a nice blend of aesthetic cues and functionality.
Also, the "frame" around the edges of the phone isn't the same all the way around. The corners have more plastic to be able to endure harder drops. It's not blatantly obvious but noticeable under close inspection . See pictures to see the "bumper" corners. The back also has very small rubber feet when laying the phone down on its back. I believe its to prevent too many scratches on the clear plastic window. Like the last version, the front border is lifted so the screen isn't touching the table when placed faced down.
As like the last case, the "buttons" on the case are the nicest feeling and looking buttons I've come across on any tpu case. They looks and feel like actual buttons. Pressing them is easy and works like pressing the real buttons on the Nexus 5 itself.
All cutouts are placed/cut correctly with everything lining up just fine. The cutouts for ports are big enough for the use of mostly any usb cable or headphone plug. The fit is pretty much perfect, the plastic isn't too stiff where its impossible to the get phone in the case but not too soft where it feels cheap. When in the case the Nexus 5 seems solid in hand w/ a good weight to it. It's what I look for in the compromise between slimness and protection in a case.
Conclusion
This is my new favorite case for the Nexus 5. It's a solid performer for a good price! Diztronic has hit another homerun with this case.

It feels slimmer and more ridgid, the finish makes it easier to hold and, because of the reinforced backing, feels much sturdier. I have the Neo Hybrid and the Voyeur is better in almost every way. Diztronic really hit it out of the park with this one.
Also, while I've been a critic of the glossy lip, it's much less pronounced on the Voyeur than it is on the standard matte case, and that's a major plus for me. I will say however that my buttons, while tactile, aren't as tactile as the OP's. Granted, there is a break-in period on TPU cases (especially the buttons), so I'll report back in a few days.
Buy this case.

I see that you have both diztronic cases, between both which do you think has more button feedback? I have the original one, waiting on my Voyeur  and thanks for the review!

Hmm, I'm not sure I like the circular glass shape on the back.
The way it exposes the logo through glass isn't very appealing to me.

You're not the only one, Diztronic is looking into possibly removing it on its next revision or, I think its next case. Not sure.

I wonder if it's possible to make a thin case like the spigen ultra slim but with a clear black to expose the logo

it's be easier just to have a clear slim case would it not?

One quick question, is the clear plastic much more see through once the protective layer of film is removed?

The problem with that is smudges showing up with black devices.

You do know there's the original matte black case that doesn't has the see through glass behind right?
The whole point of the voyeur was to show off the Nexus logo.

[REVIEW] SGP SPIGEN Ultra Lumi Bumper. (HQ Pics Heavy) Must see++

Have you been looking around to find the most beautiful case for your s3? I have got you covered. I have found the perfect case for the Galaxy S3.
This is a review for the SGP Spigen Bumper Ultra Lumi series. I have ordered this case before three weeks and it arrived today. As you can see from the photos, the packaging for this case is pretty good.

Once you order this case, you get the following items: 1. Case 2. Front protector 3. Back protector 4. Cleaning cloth. Normally you have to pay at least 10 dollars to get a decent pair of front and back protectors, so its a positive thing that they are included for free.
Now, lets have a look at the case. First thing i have noticed is the slim factor of the case. It looks beautiful and most of all: it looks premium. Although, if you touch the case you get that plastic feel. I dont see this as a bad thing, because it gives you at the same time the feeling that this case will do its job: to protect your investment.
As you can see from the photos, the cut outs for the usb, headphone jack, mics are perfectly lined. The buttons, both volume and power, are made of plastic. This is a good thing because its far more easy to press them from other tpu cases out there.
Also, this case has edges on the front and back of it. If you lay your phone on the table, its still protected because of these edges. Same thing goes for the front of the phone. You are protected because of these edges, so if you drop your phone on a straight floor, you are protected as well.
Now lets move on the negative side of this case. The price is little high for some people but notice that this case is one of the most beautiful cases i have ever seen (and i have seen a lot). Moreover, when you are holding your phone with this case, it doesnt have that anti-slippery feeling, that other cases give you. I dont care very much about this because i know that this case will protect my phone in every days situations.
Finally, I highly recommend this case to every s3 user in this forum. However, i dont think that it will look as great in the pebble blue s3. I am sure that it looks fantastic on my white galaxy s3 with my aluminum brushed back cover.
If i could give a rate to this case, i would rate it: 4,5/5.
Here's the pros and cons:
Pros: 1. best looking case for my taste 2. very good protection 3. easily accessible buttons
Cons: 1. pricey more some people 2. not having that anti-slippery feeling.
I hope you liked this review. If you find it helpful, hit thanks.
You can buy this case on:

Have a nice day everybody.
10/11/2012 ***UPDATE*** I emailed SGP Spigen and asked them when this beautiful case will be back in stock, and this is the response i got:
"We are still unsure when we will be receiving new shipments of the Ultra Bumper from our manufacturers and they haven't given us an ETA yet.* As soon as they inform us, I will be sure to send you an email".

Have you try this bumper with the brush aluminum back? The brush aluminum back is thicker than stock so I wonder if it will be a very tight fit. I have 2 tpu bumpers from eBay and it stretch too much with the aluminum back.

Quick question, the white portion of the case, is it hard plastic? Reason I ask is none of the colors look good to me and I'd like to apply a vinyl over it to change the color. Do you think a vinyl would even stick reliably to the white portion?
Thanks for your help ahead of time.

yes it is plastic and i think that a vinyl will applied nicely to the case BUT i dont recommend to do so if you have the white s3, because i think that the case is beautiful as it is. its my opinion but its your decision

True bumper cases

It seems like we have two options:
Poetic Borderline or this Abacus bumper, which seems to be the same as this i-Blason bumper.
I just got the i-Blason bumper, and it's pretty terrible. It's large and thick, yet the USB hole is just big enough to accommodate the stock cable, which is on the slim side.
Check the photos below, with the first comparing with another crappy case from caseology, which I thought was bulky as well, and the second a closeup of the 3.5mm hole, showing off the thickness in all its glory.

Google made effort to use silk touch plastic... it's a shame to cover the back.
Where are the regular bumper like the officiel Nexus 4 one.
three colors one a phone are too much imo, I'll pass on these one... I think I would by something transparent + color though
Poetic cases are good, but not attractive at all. They will probably be the only bumpers we get.
Currently i'm leaning towards a full case with a clear back, or just going full dbrand skin and a screen protector.

The price is a bit high, but I'll admit that I probably would have ordered one with my phone if they had been available, mostly because it says nexus on the back.
Spigen and Ringke both have bare back bumpers which I am looking at as well. Just don't know which to get. Both on Amazon. Just search for Nexus 5 bumper.

I'm interested in buying it. Are the sides that are black bulky at all? I'd like it if it were pretty slim. How are the button placements? Mushy or firm? Does the clear backing look/feel vulnerable to scratches? Thanks!

Sides don't seem any bulkier then a Cruzerlite case but are harder plastic. Don't have my phone yet so can't tell you about the buttons other then I suspect they will be firm. Back is hard plastic so I'm guessing it won't scratch easy.
Can provide more feedback when I get my phone Monday.

How's the inside of the case? Any causes for concern that the case might mark the case or any part of the finish inside that might rub on the sides of the phone when on?
Just I have had bumper cases before that can cause marking on the actual phone through poor finish on the inside which is what you don't want from something made to protect your phone
Cheers in advance

Inside it just feels like real smooth hard plastic. Didn't feel any sharp edges that would rub and wear.

SOLD. These look very nice, and though their version for the N4 had some issues, this N5 version looks like it'll be just fine with the 2 piece design instead of one solid piece. and some nice color options.

Yeah, I have one of these for my n4. Survived one fall(concrete), corner of case little scuffed, n4 fine . Never took it off once I put it on, used it with a horiz holster during the warm month, breast pocket of winter coat o.w. or just lying on a table/carried by hand.
What do you do sit and stare at your case all day? Frankly I don't even notice it.
Note: mine never fell apart like some of the Amazon reviews for the n4 version claimed OTOH I wasn't putting it on/removing it every other which I suppose could account for it eventually pulling apart...
I've already ordered the hybrid & slim armor(wanted something available now since the only time that I dropped the n4 was shortly after receiving it), plus the other case listed in the threads here. Might end up ordering this again IF I don't like the three that I've got on order already(well the slim shipped should be here same day as n5).
Now all I need is another horiz holster w/belt clip as I'm sure the one that fit the n4 isn't going to fit the n5 as it was already a little tight with n4 + bumper case...

Diztronic Matte Black TPU case Review and Picture

So I just got he Diztronic Case for my new Nexus 5 today and here's my thoughts on it. I've been a Diztronic case user for sometime now; had it on previous devices such as my S3. One thing I love about Diztronic is that they are more substance than flash when it comes to their cases.
Packaging:
One thing you will notice when you get the packaging is that, well there isn't much to say as its in a plastic wrap, with a cardboard cutout placeholder for your phone. They spent the money were it needs to go; on the case itself.

Build Quality/Design
As expected from Diztronic, the case is a built top notch using a soft but firm flexible TPU material. It has a two tone appearance where the edge/frame is a shiny glossy black (along with the Diztronic logo on the back) where the rest of the case is a soft grippy matte black on the back and sides. A thing to point out is the nice feel the matte finish has. It almost feels like the Nexus 5 back without a case. It just feels good. One thing I like is that Diztronic did not plaster their name all over the case like some case manufacturers do. Just one simply logo at the back near the bottom.
The cutouts are all in the perfect location and aligned right. The cutouts for all ports/mics/speakers are spot on. One thing I would like to point out is the cutout for the headphone jack. It's bigger than other cases I've seen and I like that. It allows for headphone plugs off varying sizes to be used with our phone. Many times a plug will be too big to be used with certain cases and the phone would have to removed from the case to use said plug. The cutout is a large nice square cutout. So thumbs up to Diztronic for that. Also, the microusb port cutout is large also, allowing for oem and aftermarket micro usb plugs to be used. Which is really like as I have plugs and charges of all sorts of sizes around the house, bag and car.
One thing that did differ from the S3 Diztronic case is that there is no cutouts for the buttons; volume and power. I'm sure a lot of us went the super cheap route before and got a tpu case off of ebay with no cutouts and it was just plain misery trying to press the buttons. That was one of the big pluses for me on the S3 case and was doubtful and wary about no cutouts on the Nexus 5 case. Yet, Diztronic has pulled through and made pressing the buttons easy and nice even without the cutouts. The fake buttons on the case to mimic the buttons on the phone are very nicely designed and implemented. They actually look and feel like real buttons and not just some bump on the case like the cheaper tpu cases.
Another thing I liked is that the edges are raised to protect the phone if you place it face down on the table. So no scratching the screen when doing so.
Also, unlike the slim cases from Spigen and Ringke (other cases I considered) is that it has decent protection all the way around the phone. The slim cases protect the sides but not so much the top and bottom. Sure its a little bulkier and thicker but my mind is a little more at ease with the added protection.
Got the same case on my N5 as well. Had one on my EVO 4G LTE as well. Decent case all around. Nice review.

Yeah one of the better cases I've used on any device. Great customer support too, anytime I had an issue they always were quick and courteous.
Thanks for the review. My phone slipped out of my hand today and I was able to catch it with my foot before it fell the rest of the approx. 6 inches to a tile floor. The back cover popped open a little bit, but it was otherwise unscathed. I took that as my first and only warning from the phone Gods to put a case on it so I just bought one of these based on your review.

yeah I always recommend a case. I don't like otter boxes or tank sized cases but I do like a medium between super slim and otterbox. I'm sure you'll like the case!
How much of the screen does the edge/lip of the case cover? Any use this with a screen protector?
Covers very little of the screen. I am using with with the spigen ultra crystal with no problems. I think it's a much more functional case than the official bumper.

The skinomi screen protector I got has 1mm margin to the edge of the screen so any case lip that covers more than 1mm will start to push on the protector.
Would you say the it covers 1mm or less of the screen?
Yes, I think that's accurate

Would you say the it covers 1mm or less of the screen?

I'm curious as well about the case pushing against the screen protector. I would like to know if the case causes the screen protector to lift away from the screen. This is a problem I have with the spigen.
Thanks
Amazon has the black with prime shipping, I'll make sure to post my thoughts

Looks like you lucked out and got the second revision, seems like a lottery at Amazon right now but good to see they started shipping them. Nice big photos and thanks for taking the time. I personally decided to pass on Diz this time due to the QC issues and covered up buttons.
FYI there's a thread a few pages long dedicated to the progression of this case including other pics and reviews: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2490294 :good:
After using a spigen neo hybrid for a few days I've gone back to the diztronic, fits like a glove. And almost feels like there's no case.

Is it hard to take off? I've read that some people actually damaged the exterior back and edges by taking off their cases...
No its not hard to take off... I don't go side to side... I go from bottom to top. So insert the bottom of the phone first then the top. Yeah i was worried about the revisions but Diztronic emailed me that all new cases should be the revised version

Sucks that from Italy apparently there is no way to get my hands on one since no euro amazon sells it and they directly also dont mail it to Italy or other european countries....

[Glass Screen Protector][TRUGlass]Cruzerlite Glass Protector Thread

This is literally a copy+paste from my post on Google+ find that one here with lots more photos - https://plus.google.com/103184848438617607889/posts/eg5ALeSq6uG
So I've been super busy these past few days but I wanted to share with everyone something I got for my #Nexus5 from +Cruzerlite ... This is _my_ mini-review of the Cruzerlite #TruGlass screen protector and a mini-comparison with MIMEUSA's Ghost Glass...
*Initial remarks*
At first glance you can see that its a very nice quality protector... Unlike the +MIMEUSA #GhostGlass I had on my phone previously, this one is flexible glass and not just tempered glass... Both are made of actual glass but the MIME glass is more rigid and doesn't bend much at all... From what I hear, the TruGlass is made from the same material that the Samsung Round and LG GFlex screens are made up of... So its quite flexible but not flimsy like a normal plastic screen protector would be...
*Installation*
Installation was mostly easy because I followed the directions even the hot shower to grab any loose dust lol... When installing, its probably best to peel back the whole plastic film on the application side and reattach it about 2/3 or 1/2 to the glass... This will help you center it easier w/o having to lift it off once the glass is down... once its on there, the bubbles are easily squeezed out with some light pressure to each area with them... Installation done and you're ready to enjoy
*First Impressions of it installed*
I was immediately not happy with it and I'll tell you why... I have self-diagnosed OCD and I like for things to line up perfectly... This is why I prefer Cruzerlite vinyl skins and their precise fit as opposed to DBrand skins which leave huge gaps on the edges and even side pieces… But my main gripe with this protector was that it didn’t go all the way to the top/bottom/left/right edges… I contacted Cruzerlite and they assured me this was intentional to ensure perfect fit with their cases… I was initially not happy with that answer considering I’m a minimalist person who doesn’t like cases covering up the beauty of my phone… Then I decided to actually try them with their cases and placed the order to which they shipped REALLY fast considering nothing really happens on the weekend for most businesses…
*Impressions with Cruzerlite TruGlass + Cases*
WOW, such a great fit and makes perfect sense with the way the glass is cut… No issues installing the cases and its a very nice/snug fit on the phone…
*Final thoughts*
I’m not as unhappy with the screen protector as my initial impressions and in fact its hardly noticeable without a case on the phone and certainly not noticeable with a case on the phone… I can’t judge on lasting quality but I can say its a great buy if you’re looking for a glass protector that doesn’t have too much added thickness and one that fits well with cases…
*Recommendation*
BUY IT NOW!!! lol http://goo.gl/WZU9ua
On with the pics of this all
Oh and the one shot of just the glass with a brown background shows a lines up comparison of #TruGlass vs #GhostGlass

Does it protect against a drop or something? I can't see this piece of glass preventing the screen from shattering.

yes, in the OP is a link to the post with pics of it installed with the case!
Flexible glass ?? Couldn't find any endurance/drop test reviews. So I'm doubtful on their ability to provide shatter protection for the screen if dropped. Personally I think a good tempered glass protector or something like a Rhino Shield would be a much better option for $30.

That can't be glass. It's must be a different material. Mime is the only one that actually feels physically like glass

true but its still glass lol... did you see the video of the LG G-Flex literally bending flat? that's also glass and it bends... did you see that new Samsung TV that bends at the push of a button?
point is, just because it bends doesn't mean it doesn't provide protection...
Hi @the1dynasty is that the official google black bumper your using with it? I'm very much interested in the combo of official bumper with truglass

Here is a video review of truglass
Mine arrived in the post yesterday, I fitted it today.
This thing is certainly a premium product, it feels and like there's not even a screen protector fitted. Only if you look carefully by the ear piece you can see it. Its so smooth and its really nice to touch, slightly expensive but we will see how it fairs against the test of time. I used an invisisheild before I don't think I'll be using those again, its a floppy sticky bit of plastic.
My only small gripe with this is there a few tiny tiny air bubbles I can't seem to get out with the squeegy and I can't see any dust particles in there. Il try and add a photo later

Has anyone used these without a case? I'm wondering if the edges are less prone to chipping if they don't go all the way out to the edge of the phone

Nexus 5 Ballistic Jewel Transparent Case!

New ballistic case for the nexus 5
Full transparent case with the famous Ballistic corners
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qINSwLI4vY0
I had a similar (but opaque) ballistic case for my S3 that I really liked. Does anyone have this case a know if:
- it's compatible with Qi charging?
- it's compatible with any tempered glass screen protector?
Thanks.

I have the clear version of this case. It absolutely does not interfere with qi charging. It does cause bubbles at the corners of my Spigen glas.tr nano, but I was able to solve this by shaving away a very small amount of material at the inside lip of the corners of the case with a sharp pocket knife.
This is my daily case and my favorite case that I own. I also own the SG maxx (renamed the tough jacket Maxx), the Spigen slim armor, Spigen neo hybrid, tudia wave, and the ringke fusion. By far, the jewel is the best of these cases - it feels best of all the cases above: very soft touch, smooth and grippy at the same time; the button feel is by far the nicest and most responsive.
I have heard that many clear tpu cases tend to take on a yellow tint over time, and with exposure to sunlight. I have had my jewel for about 3 months, and it has not gone yellow at all, and I often keep it mounted in my qi car mount attached to my windshield, so it is exposed to plenty of sunlight. Maybe they are using better quality tpu than other manufacturers, or maybe it is not tpu at all. I just assume that it is, although there is no mention of the material on the web site.
This is also a very protective case. The only way to get more impact protection is to use a multi layer silicone/polycarbinate case, like the SG Maxx, Trident aegis or seidio convert. I definitely think it is more protective than the Spigen, ringke and tudia cases. I have intentionally dropped the phone from 7 feet +, and thrown it against walls, without causing the slightest damage.
Finally, the thing just looks fantastic. It makes my nexus look like it is encased in clear crystal.

Is the back frosted on the inside? Or is it perfectly clear? I'm looking for a good car for a red nexus that won't make it look pink... Thanks!

It is not frosted, but it does have a grid of dimples covering the whole back, that gives it visual depth. I'd guess that it would look pretty slick with a red nexus 5. These dimples are on the inside of the case, so they don't cause tactile bumps, the whole vase is very smooth.

How does this case compare to the Urbanite case in terms of size/bulk? I'd prefer an opaque case but not at the cost of too much extra bulk.
Thanks.

Less bulky. The jewel is a single piece tpu case, the urbanite is a two layer case.

Maybe but i have to say I like this case more than the trident aiges and the ballistic maxx...

Thanks!

I'll give it a try on mine tonight.
I got the Diztronic, and I love it because you hardly notice it's on. People have said it's very protective, but it doesn't look like it, so I'm a little nervous. I saw the Ballistic Jewel, and what I like is that it doesn't look too bulky...except for the corners. I'm not sure how I feel about the clear, if I get it, I might have to go with the turquoise.
Does this case look better in person?
Do we have this case in matte black color, transparent seems awful ?
anyone else who has the clear version notice that its very purplish/blueish at times in different light

Yes, I've noticed that but only in some lighting conditions. I'm hoping it means the plastic formulated to prevent yellowing over time.
I've also noticed that despite ample room around the LED flash when it's turned out the base lights up. I guess that LED has quite a wide angle. When there is light behind the phone it tends to light up the frame, which is a little annoying. I'd love a hybrid version of this case with opaque black or white around the frame and a clear back, or even all opaque.
I'm rather liking this case. I was able to shave away the corners as suggested to make it fit with my spigen glass screen protector and overall it worked okay without too much visible damage due to my clumsiness...
What I have noticed, though, is the temperature of the phone (both by feel and battery temperature sensor) seems to be rather high. This is especially true when using a Qi charger. Even after the charge is finished when it should just be using occasional maintenance charging it temperature remains above 30 deg C. I'm a little worried this will affect the longevity of the battery.
Has anyone else noticed their phone warmer with this case than other cases? I'm wondering if it's too heat insulating. I'm kind of thinking about cutting out the whole back of the case and turning it into a true bumper but I have a feeling I'll completely ruin it in the attempt...
