[ROM][May01][4.4.2][KVT49L][CM11][HALO] **crDroid** [Build 14] - Galaxy S 4 i9505 Android Development

This is crDroid for Galaxy S4 I9505 jfltexx
crDroid build will always be based on CyanogenMod with some extra and few features (Cool and useful).
My main goal is: Keep up to date with CM11
commits
Be warned that it's a custom ROM and NO guarantee is available if you kill your device
I will avoid answer anything related with features request. This is my daily driver ROM and i will follow everything that i wrote above to keep me happy :good:

Changing tiles/ribbon background, especially to transparent, sometimes have a little delay and system seems to be stuck.
Just be patient and when change bg hold a couple of seconds until expand notification drawer (only notification drawer) :good:

- When i make an outgoing call and if the person whom i am trying to call is busy, i don't get any notification (call waiting) to this effect on my phone.
i remember cm10.2 had this feature. samsung touchwiz & google edition roms also have this feature.. "Event notification" option displays only redirected forwarding is active.
have the option to add the feature? or already exists within rom?

Getting a black screen/no display issue on sleep. The ROM still appears to be working, however the screen is just black. Anyone else? Going to try a third party kernel to see if it fixes it.
EDIT: Alucard kernel screws up a lot of things with the display for crDroid.
Really want to get this working, since it's the only ROM since 4.3 that gets Halo working as it should (nothing goes fullscreen even if you navigate within the windowed app).

Do a backup of your current rom, and then flash crdroid, and if u want to go back to omega, just restore the backup u made earlier.
Regarding the new modem and bootloader, i don't think it would be a problem. I am also on new bootloader, and i had no problems.

Just kept switching from global to CDMA/evdo , airplane mode , turn off data and just kept plying with it. Once its up it seems to be stable. I switch from WiFi to 3g no prob. Can't say for 4g though. Don't have it. But been on it since last night and all is good.

yeah, initially i couldn't get data to work, but then i swapped apns-conf files with a vanir one and i got data working that way, but still no mms to be sent out.

i didnt have this issue with other ROM i used, it could be due the kernel, they were using a lean kernel ... maybe i dont know

As said in the Nexus 4 crSimple thread, this is Christian's daily driver ROM, so no extra features allowed - he tried to make it easy to maintain and update.
And kudos for getting this compiled, crSimple is my daily driver on Nexus 4

my mistake, i forgot to set the density back, it's fixed now

I couldn't figure out how to resize the halo windows haha I know how to move em but not resize them

One suggestion and a couple questions:
First, I strongly suggest removing the resizable aspect of halo's floating windows, it does nothing but cause problems on both roms I have seen it on, one of which has already removed the ability because of the issues. Resizing breaks the ability to tap behind the window to close it, which is one of the main multitasking benefits, it also makes it very difficult to open the keyboard on pretty much any app in floating window without having to tap the textbox like 5 or 6 times. When you try to tap a menu or delete button in one of the corners of the window on an app it thinks you are trying to resize it so you have no buttom functionality in the corners of any floating window. Just suggesting you remove the feature since it hurts more than it helps.
Now onto the questions, does this rom have immersive mode?
Will you be adding theme-chooser?

Any way to change LCD density? I've tried several times editing the build prop but it keeps reverting to 245 and I'm not a giant fan.

Make sure your granting full and correct(R/W) superuser permissions to the app you are using Some have made this mistake.

I was going to try this but I get a constant popup saying "Unfortunately, phone has stopped" after booting up. I cant get passed that. I have tried a couple different gapps.

after download open zip , go to system ,open buildprop with notepad++, change density to whatever,save buildprop, close zip , then install

I don't use the toolbox. I just use the build.prop app. I'd try the one I just linked you to and see if it works or not. Wouldn't hurt to try.

Thank you for creating this awesome ROM for the GNex! The ROM is pretty solid and nearly perfect. I say "nearly" because we have to deal with the graphical glitches on screenshots, recents screen and when making the transition betweeen landscape and portrait . Other than that the ROM is 15 out of 10 stars. :victory:
Just a question, I started using this ROM since the 4th build, how do I updte to the 5th build? Do I need to do a factory reset or I just "dirty" flash it?

Normally when updated a specific rom unless major changes are made to framework dirty flash will suffice. I always clean flash just to avoid any possible errors. But many people dirty flash without a problem. I always clean flash. Just from my fascinate days.

When I try to install GApps I get a Status 7 insufficient storage on system partition, and I can't seem to figure out how to enable the advanced reboot menu so I can reboot directly into recovery. Any help would be appreciated.

pull battery , then press and hold vol+ and vol- at the same time then press power, now you can choose recovery , restore your backup, redownload the rom and try again

I know how to get into recovery, but most custom ROMs and every CM based ROM I've ever used have shortcuts in the reboot menu. Already tried that. I redownloaded it and tried again, both the ROM and the gapps. I just now flashed the same gapps package on another ROM.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. Not working on my indian dual sim variant i.e xt1572..none of the sims getting dectected...kindly mention it in the op so that other people know before flashing

Hmmm after first boot i was getting an error saying i was low on internal space(i have 11GB free) after a reboot that went away, but i dont have service. It shows that im connected to sprint with LTE, but whenever i call my phone it goes straight to voicemail. When I boot my phone up it says activating phone but just sits there. After i press skip it seems data is working but when i try to make a call it switches to roaming and wont let me complete a call and data goes off. This was on Clean flash with Banks Gapps
Edit: this may just be sprint BC after I went back to my primary ROM(truepurex )the same thing is happening(straight to voicemail and roaming when try to make a call) although I wasn't having this problem anywhere until flashing this ROM...anyone know how I can fix this? Already tried flashing the MM Modem...

Consider restoring EFS if you have a TWRP backup of it. That has resolved similar sounding problems for me in the past.
It was on a different device. I flashed an experimental rild and lost connectivity until I restored EFS.

Should sync fine. I let it sit for awhile and it synced properly.

Theme Manager is FCing. And it is telling me my SD card is corrupt and needs to be formatted, just trying to use it as portable storage.. Restored backup and my SD card is fine.

My list from Contacts is blank
no google-stored contacts and in google account settings no contacts selectable
Testet gapps: opengapps and banks

Really want to try this. rom. Hopefully the little kinks will be worked out soon.

I'm using a 32gb Samsung SD without issue. Try putting it in another device running a custom os to verify. I had a old 4gb SD before that was corrupt and couldn't be fixed. Might just be time to get a new one.

The SD card works fine in Windows/Linux and other ROMS including Bliss, AICP, and RR. it is a 128 GB sandisk only 2 months old.

Don't use open gapps, I had issues with those. Try rebooting after everything is setup and let it sit a little while.

Strange. My previous one was a sandisk as well. I'll double check and make sure no patches are missing in our base.

Thanks. tried just restoring just EFS but still wouldnt work... Finally after a complete wipe and restoring a backup i'm back up and running
