congrats for saving some bucks. it is not nice because you disrespect the developers/manufacturers that invested in that case in the first place. same as with hacked apps or whatever...buying fakes is your thing, but asking for it is another. just my 2 cents

I also respect that and btw, I am also not buying originals all the time. In my opinion it is just not polite to openly ask for it. Anyway hope your case will last long .

Since when do you define what is proper forum etiquette and what is not? The last I checked, that was the moderator's job. The poor guy is just trying to find an inexpensive version of the case. Not everyone can afford a $50+ case.

He possibly could have phrased his question differently. Maybe used imitation instead of fake? Imitation sounds better but I guess it just depends on who's reading it and whether or not they can see through things like that. Still, the fact remains that he was asking for some help regarding a cheaper case that looked like the Atom. Instead, you offer him your opinion on what he should and should not ask for in the forum. Necessary? I think not. Did you help him? No. Did it look like you were trying to put yourself on a pedestal? Absolutely. Why even take the time to reply to his question if not to help?

One word of caution - you might be careful of name brand items coming from China. Homeland Security (Customs) can, likely won't, but can, open your package and destroy it if it's a branded knock-off.

i bought mine last year (the fake one - i have no idea about the ori)...TBH, i rarely use it..
yes indeed it got a nice fit on s3 but it decreased my wifi signal (and maybe phone signal too) plus sometimes the internet will be slow as hell..
so i decided to stay with UAG..also nice and no prob at all..

Before you do that, it's probably a good idea to take it apart and find out which size connector cable your screen has. The Evo two types, a "small" and a "big" one.
I'm posting these amazon links for reference about the flex cable size, I am 100% sure you can get these for cheaper elsewhere...

And get a replacement... why do you have insurance with BB if you're not going to use it? My understanding is that they don't charge a deductible anyway.

Do your research, ask many Others I have helped on this forum with repairs. Yur best bet is to spend the extra money and buy it preassembled. I had for sale screens with the digitizers already attached directly from htc. Wth the plastic stil on the front. Many members purchased from me but at the moment I'm sold out. Save yourself ANY little or big headaches, spend the extra few dollars and buy it all in one piece. Maybe a few of my friends or customers might chime in...good luck

Me too. It's hard to see exactly what they look like from the poorly focussed images on their web site. Also, I hear that there's a corner missing or a cuttout in the casing as if they were expecting the Galaxy Note to have an external antenna sticking out which would be off putting. I also heard someone saying there was a problem with the access to the head phones socket that needed fixing. Vwery tempted to buy but hesitant without a clearer picture.

Found by wiswis, posted in the Member-Found Deals section. We're not sure if it's legit. We're not sure if it's legit and they posted it at the wrong price. We're not sure if it's a complete scam. I personally read the description over and over and over to see if there was something to save them from paying back if a case is opened against them through PayPal and on that thought I decided it was worth the chance and I ordered one.

Yeah, I got a "shipped" e-mail this morning.
I figured I'd chance it because a) it's $35 and b) buyer protection through eBay/PayPal.
I doubt he got his hands on 99 stolen phones. The more likely scenario is no shipment or empty boxes.

Just got out the car and dropped my phone.. dented the bumper around the bottom edge! so im in desperate need of a case.. to protect it and hide its wounds :/

This is my case and it is the most slick case I've ever used, offers 8.5/10 protection and has a built in kickstand for quiet cheap. Its double layer and quite nice and pretty. I suggest not getting g the red version cause it looks a tad pink but black is a total go.

I've seen a bunch of threads regarding that the Lifeproof cases aren't out yet... But on eBay there are a few cases for sale. I'm guessing these are fake but the pictures look pretty legit. Any experience with these? I'm still new so I can't post links but if you type in "S3 Lifeproof" on eBay it should pop up.

I was about to start a thread and remembered there already was one. So since this thread I've noticed a large increase in the number of fake lifeproof's, I'm assuming some company in china got the specs and started making replicas. Looks like the prices are in the $40 to $50 range, so who's going to be the guinea pig and buy one? Part of me wants to try it since the real lifeproof cases cost $80, but another part of me thinks that its stupid to spend $50 on something that could be complete crap. Especially if it ships from china or hong kong, if I don't like it I'd have to pay the shipping all the way back. Plus I'd have to wait 3 weeks just to get it and possibly another 3 weeks to get the refund........
Anybody want to sponsor me? I'll put a big pictorial and detailed review?:laugh:

I'll be ordering one from a US Seller for a slightly higher markup. I can post a video review on Youtube, and here as well. I'll get it some time next week, as I'll probably order it with my birthday money or when my paycheck comes in. And hey, if you want to push $5 towards the cause, I wouldn't be opposed They look exactly like the iPhone version, even down to the packaging and colors available. one seller even mentioned that they aren't LifeProof branded, but had a 1 month return/refund/warrenty. In addition, Paypal and my bank offer a certain amount of time to make sure a product actually works (3 or 6 months, I think). I'm game for giving it a shot!
I imagine that the install would be the same as for an iPhone... and I'd want to check the seals BEFORE installing my phone... that'd be really sad.

Right, that's the whole point of this entire thread. These are FAKE or replicas or whatever you want to call them, that's why this thread got started. That's why they only cost $40 to $50 dollars. That's why some of them are from CHINA. I think I'll probably end up buying one of these once I find a white one that's being sold here in the US. I know they all are probably being made in the same place in Hong Kong or somewhere but I don't see any reason to order something and wait for a month for it to get here.

Being that lifeproof has yet to release the case, what's the alternative? If you need protection a fake case is better than nothing.

I love my water proof otterbox armor series . It's bulky compaired to the lifeproof that doesnt exist yet, but feels like it'll take on anything.

I didn't even know this one existed. I'll have to look into it. I take it you're happy with the case? Is touch sensitivity okay? I had the OBEX for a week and hated it. I like to five and would like to have something I can take on the boat with me that I don't have to worry about getting banned around or splashed. I have no intentions of actually taking it into the water.
