[APP] MotoG Boot Logo Creator + Flasher v1.0 [05.Feb.2014] - Moto G Themes and Apps

Hi everyone, here's my last release : MotoG Logo Flasher.
A little app that will allow you to flash your own custom logo as the MotoG splashscreen.
Current functionality:
- Convert your custom picture to a raw picture.
- Compress this raw picture to a specific Motorola format (thanks to Carock for decyphering it).
- Then inject it into a working logo.bin for you to flash.
- It doesn't matter if your BootLoader is unlocked or not, you'll never see the warning logo (thanks to ffosilva's hack).
How to use:
- Download and extract the attached zip.
- Create a 720 x 1280 x 24b picture (i've tested it with bmp, but you can try with png or jpeg).
- Run my app [MGLF] and hit the [Create logo.bin] button.
- You'll see a preview of your picture and can then decide to flash it or not.
- If you choose to go on, you'll just have to wait a few seconds till the process ends. Et voila! You'll end up with a working logo.bin to flash.
- To test/flash it, just use the "flash logo.bat" file located in the app folder.
- The inbuilt exception catcher should handle all the bugs, don't hesitate to report them.
- If you ever want to flash the stock logo.bin: just copy the "original.logo.bin" from the [bin] folder and rename it as logo.bin.
Bugs:
None so far (you tell me).
Well at least, i know that some colors are not exactly the same but it's a bug in ImageMagic Convert.exe. Will look into it later if it really bothers some of you.
Download:
Just grab the attached zip file and hit the Thanks button.
MD5: ee5a93c6a9564913eaff62a00b79bf5c
Thanks to:
Carock, for decrypting the logo.bin compression algo.
fosilva, for his nowarning little hack.
Madshi, for his great madExcept lib.
And you for using it. Have a nice day and enjoy it.
Planned additions:
- Reboot/Flash from the app.
- Fix some bugs if ever found.

How to flash that logo.bin? Is posible with twrp or flashify? Did someone have original bootanimation flashable for our moto g?

Just use the "flash logo.bat", it will reboot your phone into bootloader and flash it for you.
This app doesn't deal with bootanimation, but if you still want to back it up, it's located in /system/media...

I am always getting an error: "Your splash file is too big to fit in logo.bin Please Choose another picture"

@ACharLuk:
The picture you're using contains too many colors or is too complex. Just try a simple logo on a white/black background.

Thanks for the tool. Would you mind people attaching their working, legal images to the thread?

For sure, the more the merrier
I could then even compile them into a sorta database where people can select from.

Hi
is there a way to run this on linux? I tried it on a VM, but it didn't work.

Doge and Steve finally arrive on Moto G!

@Ascona79:
Sorry, i don't think so since i'm using Windows to dev :-/
Will look into some time to set up a tut so you can achieve it on your own.

Wonderful... Works like charm....
Thanks

Don't bother, I will find a M$ machine
And it's not like I want to change it every other day.
But first I have to find the right picture
Something dark, the original is to bright. When you mess around with xposed and it is dark you need shades

My device is dual sim model.

I made a bmp with the blue logo but on the phone it was yellow, xD should i just make it yellow and it will be blue on the phone, its 24bit btw

yeah i know, that's the bug i was talking about. I've got a solution but i'm still looking for a clean one.

[SPLASH] Nexus S-style splash screens for Magic

For some time I have been using a splash screen I made, and thought to share it since I haven't seen anything like it.
The idea originates from Nexus S splash screen and has the same style of logo text, white with some inner shadow. I also made some different styles, in which I used giorgisp's HDPI splash screen as background.
NOTICE! THESE WILL ONLY WORK ON HTC MAGIC AND G1 = DREAM/SAPPHIRE COMPATIBLE!

Instructions:
1. Boot to fastboot (back+power)
2. Download & move your desired splash image to somewhere easily accessible (like C:\)
3. Type "fastboot flash splash1 NAME"
For example: fastboot flash splash1 splash3-htcandroid-ns-blue.rgb565

Yeah. That's because fastboot can't find the file.
And also, you must cd yourself to root directory of C drive, so the command window looks like this:

- Download roottools from HERE

Sadly not, because the operating system is not able to access it's bootloader (fastboot/hboot) and because of that it's splash1 partition.

I'm being anal, but has that online tool been thoroughly tested? I made a splash myself, but I'm wary of using it just because I know of at least one other person who had to do a full wipe and nandroid after soft-bricking by fastboot flashing a splash in another thread.
Edit: Nevermind, just read jobo's posts in the other thread.

yes! there are two ways to do that...
1. Resize it to our phone's resolution, this way you lose quality
2. Center it on screen, this will retain quality but the image will look small
Eg like the Ubuntu bootanimation i made, it is from a 480p source.
Send me the bootanim and i'll work on it.

1. Use .jpg as the image format.
2. If you have photoshop, reduce every image's quality in order to reduce filesize. Do not take it below 20% or the pixels will become evident. This way, below 50% the quality of image will deteriorate exponentially.
3. If you don't have Photoshop you can use a software called FotoSizer, which will do batch jobs.

After someone said my custom boot animation looked very cool I decided to share it here.
It is based on @frysee Android Bios Boot animation.
I upscaled the Galaxy Nexus S bootanimation using Irfanview to get that crisp nearest neighbor batch resize. I also changed the text to the 6T specs.
I have linked below both a the Bootanimation.zip and a Magisk module.

This is pretty damn cool, it works just fine on the op7pro even if the data doesn't match, it's still amazingly good
Thank you for this. Takes me back to the good old days of my Galaxy Nexus.
Thanks for this greate and funny bootanimation
In my opinion You could add .zip of generic boot animation, so we can come back if we wish to.
Second thing would be version of oxygen, instead 10.3.2 You could use 10 or 10.x.x. as 10.3.3 is on most of devices now days.
Third suggestion is to ditch the last android boot, and stay with the screen where "activating root access" is on wait for longer. At the end showing "have a nice day"
Thank You for Your work.

It's not about me. Good to have it there. Saw many, many threads with that kind of practise. I won't use it for reasons I pointed out, but as I said it's not about me.

Could you update the bootanimation to reflect the latest 10.3.4 version ore guide me to do it by my self?
I mean the editing part. Extracting and repacking is clear

I assume like any other boot animation zip, this must be containing the images which are displayed. Open the zip file & you modify the image files as you like But you'll be needing the exact same font.

It was working well on OOS and AOSPA but not working on evo ex rom. What could be the reason.
Edit: Got it working with some modification to the zip. Its due to a different implementation of how bootanimation work in many custom roms on dark mode.
Wondering if you could help? I just tried flashing the Bootimage.zip file I downloaded from your feed (I used TWRP), I'm on OnePlus 6T (T-Mobile, USA model), rooted, running LineageOS. For some reason its saying the .zip file is the incorrect type. Sorry if this is noob question/mistake on my part, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This .zip file is not for flashing, you just need to copy it to the /system/media (in some roms /system/product/media) folder, but to do this, you have to use a filemanager with root-permissions.
Where is the download link?
* Edit: Found it nevermind
Hello! I can't seem to find the magisk module zip for download. Is it the zip that is listed with the previews? Could you please advise or direct me to where I can download please? Also is this working on Oneplus 6t TMobile version running stock Android 10.3.6? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!!
