[Q] Problems with the screen - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

I bought mine the release day, everithing was fine until the last update (if I remember in november), the screen suddenly started to show this black lines only in white background (when I go to settings, opening chrome, etc.) it isn't a major problem as I can see I think it might be a software problem, but I want to be sure. It is a hw problem or a sw problem? (I want to be sure, to claim my warranty with Samsung) Somebody have had this problem?

The only way to know for sure is to do a hard reset. Problems like that occurring well in to ownership are the scariest. It could be a one off defect or the start of a pandemic. Good luck.

I do the hard reset a few weeks ago but it still the same, I was thinking about a downgrade, but I don't want to be stuck and have a soft brick (it hapend when I try to downgrade my S4)... And there are links only for Terafile and Rapidgator.... and it will take 8h to download the fw (I'm not premy)

Well I learned by the hard way.... DO NOT FLASH AN OLDER FW VERSION!!!!!! if you do that you will have this in your screen
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again

The good thing is that you just need to reinstall your current FW version.

Manila Spaz Out! (Pictures and Videos) Does this happen to anyone else?

I experience this from time to time since my recent software reset. Didn't happen much in the beginning, but I'm sure it must of been something I installed and uninstalled of a program I tried out. Could be Batti causing the problems, as it seems to have come about when I started using Batti.
There would be junk at the top, as well as almost all hardware buttons don't work. Some soft buttons may work, but don't do much. Blank Menus occur. Start button doesn't work, so I can't get to settings to manually deactivate Manila. Manila may restart on it's own, but no resolution and bugs still occur. Power button doesn't work, so I gotta open the battery case and soft reset.
Does this happen to anyone else (particularly Sprint users)? Are you also using Batti?
Here are pictures and Video

I have, for a very short while, used Batti with no problems at all. Maybe another piece of software you've installed??
If this problem persists, the only way out is to do a hard reset.

Chip and red cross

Hello, by mistake, I've flashed my SPL with a wrong version, and after that I was unable to downgrade or to restore with a good SPL. I tried to use RUU, and it brick my phone, I've got a chip and a red cross on a white screen each time it power on my phone.
Do you think it is possible to restore my phone with a HTC debug serial cable?
Thank you!

Ok, I solved the probleme, when I start the RUU updater, I hold the action button (track ball) down all the time until it finishes, and now my hero is completly restored!
I hope for those who got the same error will see my post, I was in a very bad trip!
lucky you, i hope i will never see such a sign on my hero... the chip really doesn't look good, more like a dead bug or something
I've just flashed my hero with the wrong SPL, that's break it, but the ROM Update Utility from HTC is very usefull in this kind of case ; I was no longer able to send it sdb requests or reboot on the recovery! But it update the offcial ROM to the latest..

[Q] Chrome problem after Lollipop update

My wife's regular issue, stock, non-rooted phone, not mine, which I haven't updated to 5.0. When you click on the Chrome button you get this:

The number after "document" down there keeps going up every time you close and re-open. It's 90-something now. If you click on the home button or a new tab, you get a normal functioning page. But when you open up a new session you get this confounded thing. How the heck do you fix this?

Try uninstalling all updates, wiping data/cache and reinstalling chrome updates from play store
WTF if its stock firmware why are the softkeys modded?
Those are the stock lollipop soft keys

Strange bootloop issue after display switch

Hi,
story first, problem below: I crashed (a while ago) the display of my Nexus 4. I changed it with some cheap chinese crap (that was offered as original, but well, China ) ... and the Nexus was stuck in endless bootloop. First I thought I did flash it wrong or did a mistake changing the display. After hours of looking for clues I gave up. Recently I found some idiot-proof flashing tool (SkipSoft) and tried it again with the oldest factory image available: occam 4.2.2 (JDQ39).
The Nexus did not only boot, but boot up faster than my none damaged Nexus 4. Ok, the display was in comparison like scaled to 90 %, but no real problem. I was kinda happy and tried to flash CM or the latest (5.1.1.) factory image available. And again, there way my problem. I did flash every factory image, except 4.2.2, and same sh**. Flashed 4.2.2. (again) - no problem at all. I did the auto upgrade to 4.3 - endless bootloop again.
Did anybody had this problem before? I think it's a driver issue, since it works with 4.2.2. but no later images. But is it Androids fault (display driver switch between 4.2.2. to 4.3)?
Btw.: pic of the original and the "oliginal" display:

Bricked Kernel
Hi, did you try something like custom ROMs, Magisk Modules, messed up with system files
Possibly that the kernel is dead
And if is not, your phone is COOCKED, its even OVER-COOCKED
And i little tip, try reboot in fastboot and try to get somehow your internal storage files
