So is this rom tied into @DAddYE's version of SlimKat at all or no?
Sent from my Beanstalk infused Z1

It's maintained by me for slim.
Sent from my Xperia Z1 using Tapatalk

so this is like the official one from the slimroms team but still the unstable release?

It's actually been a daily driver for me most of this week. As I said on second post I won't take it official after stable. Problem is I need to merge in a great deal in to native and av and for the sake of stability, and our sanity, waiting till after so that other devices don't break so close to stable

Considering he compiles from our source then yes lol.

Haha okay. I just didn't know if you were an official maintainer of Slimrom or not.

Any known bugs? Did u use the cm tree build by kali?
Sent from my Xperia Z1 using Tapatalk

Yes based on kali-'s tree and kernel. As for bugs you tell me, besides some funky hardware acceleration on videos (doesn't always happen)

So. No hw overlay fix by kali implemented in the rom yet? If it does im gonna flash it and give it a try
Sent from my Xperia Z1 using Tapatalk

Fix? It's using a new kernel if that's what you mean. Flash it and you tell me. Like I said it's been my dad for most of the week. I need to have a bigger test pool than just my device

Adding Language to Latin IME
ROM is working just fine on my device
Though there is a snall thing that bugs me. Is there a way to add languages to LatinIME, If I install the CM one I got Dutch, but then I don't get the black theme when I switch to darkslim, or whatever its called
If I put the dict files from the CM one that are in res/raw into the Slim one, doesnt work either, am I missing a step? love to add dutch to that keyboard, thats the only thing really from me using slim to the max
Thanks in advance

Finally!!
I'll give a try!! At this point if it is stable like mine (I saw through gerrit/sources that you're a little behind CM-sony and few things still need to be reviewed) I'll ask to @mods to close my thread so you guys can work better with the community.
Thanks a lot, was a pleasure to introduce this rom for Z1's users!

Not behind at all, I just don't merge right away lol. This build I have here had a lot of stuff from Gerrit
Sent from my Xperia Z1 using Tapatalk

When I use non stock keyboard like swype, the layout gets really tiny. I know this because of the system DPI being 370. I can probably fix it with xposed but is there another way around this?
Besides this, the ROM has been working great

You can bump up the dpi in build.prop. Afaik that's only thing you can do.
Sent from my Xperia Z1 using Tapatalk

Ok I fixed the keyboard height and small widgets with nova by changing the dpi to 360. But I think I found a bug with the date

I will update with new builds as often as I can
Root is not working with the deafult setup. You will need to flash a differnet kernel and the SuperSU package.
The current ROM isn't a "feature packed" rom - if you want lots of flashy things stay away for now
Changelog (23-10-2013):

Cherry picked multiwindow. To use go to recent apps -> long press -> add to multiwindow. Pressing home clears.
All changes merged up until 22-10-2013.

Can you please write "a lot of exciting features" ? I really curious about that .

Will flash in a while, will provide feedback.

So just flashed this, first impressions? I think at this stage, it's a bare 4.3 rom, no add ons, no added features or anything.
Attached some screens.
UI scrolling is a bit laggy, comparing this to my stable setup of purity+fancy ext or even my vanir setup.
This will just get better in time, so let's all stay tuned, but for now, i flashed back my nandroid as this is too bare for me.

Same feeling, nothing special at all currently, almost pure stock.
The only thing I found is the status bar of lock screen is transparent.

Does this build have multi-window? If not, would you please add this wonderful feature? As I read somewhere, it isn't merged to source. You will have to patch it.
Let's test this rom.. i think it will be amazing :fingers-crossed:
Thanks Syko :good::good:
Edit: Except the launcher (that is laggy and a bit slow) , everything is perfect
Really fantastic work
Syko , Hoping you will be the maguro maintener
big names in this project ...I think it will be great&unique Rom
Hope devs will add also and only useful features
Thank You sykomaniac for this build, hope You will enter Omni Team and You will become the official mantainer for Maguro
Chainfire's rom ? im defeinitely flashing this stuff, itll be goooooooooooooood after a few months
why they dont take the pac as basic rom and but all the know how together

[Galaxy Nexus]
Will omniROM builds be device independent or will device-specific features be added into it, I mean will it just be ported or will it be enhanced for best performance on the galaxy nexus?
You know if it's just ported it'll be just another AOSP ROM with tons of features but it may lag or slowdown like most ROMs, while if you look lately at ROMs like vanir or cataclysm they're so fast it's insane.
So the question is will omniROM be ported THEN optimized for the galaxy nexus or does it come enhanced already?
(tl;dr Idc about most features going away if the ROM stays at least as fast as vanir, convince me to switch xD)

It's still a work in progress, so you can compile it in yourself if you feel like it, but it's not in the official repo's.
I'm unable to download the newest version (the one linked with the download-image in the first post).
Can someone point me into the right direction?

That is weird, the link is for my Omni build folder, it is working for me!!
anyway here is a direct link: omni-4.4.4-20140728-honami-HOMEMADE.zip
Also I wonna ask all of Omni lovers, what do you prefer:
Keep everything as official as possible (as stable as possible)
Merge some features in the ROM (like multiwindow, On-The-Go mode, Battery Saver mode, App Circle sidebar, etc....)
Provide builds of both!! (that would reduce the amount of updates to the half)
Please give me your opinion about this:angel:

Yes, I am. Torch toggle works perfectly, but the app has a bug: if you enable fullscreen and restart the app as requested, there's no way to revert that choice - except by delete deleting the app's data.

Apart from the bug mentioned above, I only noticed a quite warm area in the upper center of the phone's back. But that might be due heavy usage a couple of minutes before my "measurement"..
GPS, however, works perfectly! [emoji41]
I'm only missing some features within the default launcher, but I guess you can't merge what's not written in the Omni base code (e. g. empty homescreen pages or 3 "pages" instead of only 1 in the lower shortcut bar - just like CM does offer both)..

As I am a student, its very difficult for me to update Roms weekly. Besides PX team consists of only 2 members, so the development is at a slow but gradual pace. I will update this Rom, whenever there are important stuffs added to the source.
could anyone send me the screenshots of this rom ??

RRO layer is for AOSP based roms. This one is CM based, hence it has Theme Engine
