Any recommendation for pocketable battery pack? - Nexus 5 Accessories

I am looking for a credit card size battery pack that I can put inside my wallet. There was one called the Jumper Card from Indiegogo (Linky). Unfortunately, the project was cancelled and no longer available.
Any other recommendation?
I don't want a large battery pack since it's too big to put in pocket, not to mention too heavy. I just need a small charger that can provide emergency top-up for 10-20% of the battery life.

I think you'd like this one

But I think delivery is May 2014

Here are a few others

i got this one on my key chain with my car key

Thanks for the info guys. These have more power than the jumper card, so it's bigger to and won't fit my wallet. :'( .
PS: when I had my S4, I carry a spare battery in my wallet because it's small enough.
Thigh I like the keychain one from Mophie.

How's this working out for you? The Amazon reviews are horrible..1.5 stars.

It work fine. You just have to make sure it's charged up though, as there are time that the indicator show that the battery is charged but it was really only partially charged. Just make sure to plug it in maybe once a week to keep it topped off.

I have this one and I like it: http://www.amazon.com/Anker-Ultra-Slim-Built-In-Cable-ThunderBolt-Blackberry/dp/B00CEZJT2E
There are a ton of other ones though; for me, the importance is that it comes with built-in charging cable.

Did you try Qcell external battery? or Zerolemon?

Just got myself this with this battery charged my empty nexus 5 at 6% battery to full in about an hour. maybe a bit less or a bit more I did not really track it. However works for me well. the other reason I got this is the battery fits my ST Cycler jetbeam flashlight. Just haring in case it might work for someone as well. The solution is not very ergonomic though, maybe.

Check out this zerolemon battery case

Zerolemon batter case is HUGEEE nexus is already a sizable device
how would you rate its performance against standard batterypack from leading competitors?

i have used both qcell and 5star america battery packs..
both are great products i would go with either of these 2

much better solution:
RAVPower Wireless Charging Pad with Built-in 4800mAh External Battery with magnetic tape 3M on it. Or perhaps another magnets. Or VELCRO Brand Sticky Back Fasteners
Will post the pictures when will get it.

I posted this in the other thread, but I'll post it here too. I found this on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GU589GG/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I ordered it and should be coming in on Thursday. For anyone interested I will make a separate thread reviewing it. I really like the low price but we'll see how it actually performs. It apparently has 2,000 mAh.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S II Battery

Hi, I will soon receive my SGS II and I normally use 2-3 batteries for my current Nexus S to get by a single day. I'm wondering where can I buy SGS II battery and separate charger? I've searched everywhere but can't find one. Without extra battery my new SGS II will be kind of useless for me. I Know it has 1650 mah, but it just means I can get by with just one additional battery instead of two . Thanks.
usually stuff like battery's comes along a short while after a product has been released .

When you see what you have to do to get off the battery cover I predict you'll be wanting you go that less than three times in a day.

I personally would prefer a 3500mAh extended battery, like the ones available for SGS1 and HTC EVO. The price of these units is also reasonable.
cryptic, yes you are right, I have SGS II now for couple of days and removing the cover and putting it back on seems to be a pain in the A**. But looking at the battery life, it seems i'll be fine with one more battery and I'll just buy one more back cover should it break due to opening again and again which seems very likely.
tamas, I have been using extended batteries before and really loved it, but SGS II is the slimmest phone in the world, I don't want to make it look fatter and bulkier. I just like it being slim and very light. It may be even lighter then my Nexus S.
Don't worry about the back cover breaking or anything.

Yeah, there is always a tradeoff... The powermonkey and other similar solutions are even heavier and need more space. Right now I have a powerbank with 4xAA batteries, capable to charge any USB-powered unit - it serves well, especially if you want to charge different devices.
However it's ~300g and you have to hassle with the cable, which is not so easy e.g during trekking.

There are plenty of 3000-3500mAh batteries available for the SGS-1, let's hope they will come up very soon with SGS-2 compatible batteries.
P.S.: if anyone knows that one is available, please give a note here.
Weird. I got at least 20 hours out of a standard battery on the 9000.
Hopefully there will be a battery available soon, always prefer to have a spare on me, just in case...

Nope, the one I am looking for is a big system battery, which needs a new back cover (~twice as thick as the original battery).
The phone gets thicker, but finally I can hike all day long using GPS with one charge and no hassle with external batteries/cables.

[Batteries] The 3rd party batteries for SGS3 thread

Well, let's have this thread to keep the info about 3rd party SGS3 batteries that will start coming from different sellers around the world.
As soon as you find some new battery with bigger than standard capacity - post the link here.
Current listings:

There is already a thread going for the Hyperion batteries available on Amazon.

Yeah, that thread is about one battery link, and this thread will have all of batteries in one place.
By the way, there are some questionable "no name" batteries on ebay, like these:

This phone (and a few others) have their NFC antenna built into the battery. To cut it short, change the batt, NFC won't work (Till they make 3rd. part batteries with antenna too).
i got a couple of emails from Anker,
Thank you for contacting us.
Please be advised that we will forward your concern to our product team to see if we will develop this battery. To be honest, it is hard to find a factory who makes batteries with NFC built in. If we find one, we will consider developping NFC batteries. Hope this helps!

According to this article, the battery of the s3 has a build in inductive charging loop. I presume this is the nfc coil.
I'm not sure whether the one in the battery is only for wireless charging or whether the phone depends on it for all it's nfc connectivity.
It's a bit off topic, but I presumed that the wireless charging would be a coil in a new back case that connected to the two exposed pins underneath the back panel until I read this article. Those pins might mean a pin based charging dock.

agreed. i purchased them for my S2 and they drained twice as fast as the OEM battery. the only reason i continued to use them was for emergencies. id keep them charged and ready to go whenever i knew id be away from a charger for a long period of time. they only have enough life for about 2 hours of ACTUAL use. standby lasted probably 8 hours

I have similar but for my Note & better
cos mine is slimmer & doesnt have that Snap top
so can pull it out faster & is slim on the top
& it claims 3000mAh battery on it
but gives me only 70% of refill charge
Note has 2500 & case 3000 still doesnt give one full charge
yours has 2200mAh battery & S3 has 2100mAh on it
wonder how much more juice it will give
Also the lights on bottom get anoying aftre a while
wish it was behind the case
True that, but might get one anyway, as I also have an external power pack and a replaceable battery.
But never thought of those things, thanks for the input
Edit:
thought what the heck and bought one, doesn't exactly cost much. When I get it ( in about two weeks! ) I'll do a little review on it like how much of the battery it can charge etc.
Was thinking about the capacity but I wouldn't want anything much bigger than that tbh

nice one
Recieved one on the 2200mAh cases yesterday (Power Bank).
(link: h**p://***.ebay.co.uk/itm/2200mAh-Backup-Battery-Charger-Power-Bank-Case-Cover-For-Samsung-Galaxy-S3-I9300-/280916343518?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4167eb3ade)
Charged it up (came about 2/3 full) and then let my S3 run down to flat (quite hard now I'm getting 20 to 22 hours out of it).
Started charging and it got to about 50% in 3 hours before it ran out..
Considering the phone was on and, based on previous discharge rates, was using about 5% an hour, the total charge was about 65% (if i'm being generous).
65% of an S3 battery @ 2100mAh = 1365mAh.....
Not too bothered at the cost (or size - S3 is way too thin as standard for my liking), but was hoping for a lot more from it..... For the bulk it adds, and the fact that you can't sync or charge the phone while the case is on, is a big negative for me....
Maybe my hopes were too high having come from iPhone battery cases which almost lived up to their advertised power ratings as well as allowing you to charge case & phone at the same time and sync through the case....
Just thought I'd share my findings...
Hope it helps others looking for a similar case.
I like the heftier size of the phone after fitting the extended battery, fits my hands much better. I hope that they come up with a flipcase though because obviously the original won't fit anymore. I don't understand people who just buy a case for the back because you can buy another back very easily. The front however is a different question. If you don't protect the glass, it will scratch and can even shatter when you drop the phone.
As often as I am checking/using my phone, it's not worth it to me to get a flip case. I would go mad having to flip it open countless times an hour. A good back case will also (albeit slightly) protect the front

Yea, I had an Anker battery for my EVO 3D and they're solid. Definitely want one with NFC though.
i am in the same boat but don't want to walk around with a brick with those 4000mah batteries. to me that defeats the purpose of this ultra thin phone. i keep an extra battery in car in case i need it.
i don't think you will find a decent capacity (say 2800-3000mah) battery without requiring a bulky extended back cover.. those that advertise this type of capacity are probably liars. i said it before, but if it were possible samsung would of increase capacity while keeping the same size.
sure you can get a 2200-2300mah battery that is the same size but it's pointless because the added time will only be like an additional 10-20 minutes compare to stock (that is of course if you even get the advertised capacity)..
battery technology needs improvement.. everyone is making better and better phones but battery technology is lacking and no on is investing money to improve them

Yep using this at the moment - NFC reception seems better on it - recognises a tag from a greater distance. Also, feels like it actually is providing 2300mAh

thanks. gonna buy one as a spare one
I think I'm going to wait until the price comes down a little bit.
Have a look at the original SGS3 battery charger. That one ships with a standard NFC battery (well in the UK)

QCell has 2300mah batteries with nfc for $10 on Amazon.
Originally bought it as a backup, but it consistently lasts longer then the OEM battery so now that's become my backup.

I read that those QCell batteries are fake. Supposedly if you peel back the sticker, they're really 2100mah.
Damn it. I wish I didn't listen and question this. The QCell I got does not have a label beneath their sticker or indication that it is 2100mah, but when peeling it back I tore the connector to the nfc. :'(

Sorry man. I was just relaying what I read in the Amazon reviews. Didn't mean for you to damage it while checking.

meh, it's not your fault. I should've been more carefully pulling the label back when I got to the front where the nfc was.

External battery or just another batterie?

What should I go for? I know the question is kinda vague but all I see in retail is $100 battery cases which is way too expensive...

It depends on what you carry around with you. I usually just go from home to work and back home, so i can charge either at home or at the office. But when I go on business trips I usually have my laptop bag, so I use a portable battery pack.
I've been using this one for a few weeks and it works really well, it'll charge your phone at least twice.

What phone do you have? Does it have a built-in battery (like iPhone) or a changeable battery(e.g. Samsung)?
If your phone has changeable battery, you can actually have another one if you like. It costs less than $15 from a third party.
If you own an iPhone type, an external battery charger or a battery case would be the only way. I personally prefer an external one since the battery case adds too much weight and destroy the sensational design the phone has. And as you said, they charge a lot due to an exquisite workmanship. Otterbox is the leading brand in this type of case, they provide waterproof, dustproof cases which is awesome if you are a backpacker. Their price is therefore pretty high(over $70).
Another option is to get an external battery charger, which is what I'm doing. I have an iPhone 4S and I have a RavPower 14000mAh external battery charger. I choose this brand because they have a reasonable price and a few of my friends has introduced it to me.
There're some other high-end brands in this like Mophie, Mipow, they sell $15 more than the one I have. So if you prefer a luxury one, you may consider theirs.
I think you can get all of those batteries from amazon.

I'm really happy with that rom.
Very smooth and stabel and the battery life is just awesome
Unfortunately my camera is not working but it seems like i'm the only one.
I purchased a replacement battery from a BatteriesPlus store. Great life out of it, comes with 1-yr warranty (bring it back to to the store with any trouble for replacement).
Also, Groupon runs all kinds of deals on accessories. My wife just picked up a Mophie S3 battery case for me for $40!!! In conparrison, BestBuy has them for $99.
