Apktool (or similar) for decompiling / compiling apk

1ª Once the lge-res.apk decompiled file, which is located in the path:
\ System \ framework \
2ª We go to the folder: lge-res \res \ values
Open the styles.xml with notepad + + and remove the following 3 lines:
Code:

@color/primary_text_holo_light

@color/secondary_text_holo_light

@drawable/screen_background_selector_light

@style/Widget.Holo.Light.TextView.ListSeparator

@drawable/list_divider_holo_light

1 and 2 two lines,for change color text (line 1573 y 1575)
3 for change background color/image. (line 1596)
4 color and text subtitle and background (line 1658)
or
*********no remove line 1658 and change "red" (lines 1292 a 1296):
Code:

[COLOR="Red"]?android:textColorSecondary[/COLOR]

[COLOR="Red"]?android:listDivider[/COLOR]

true

5 color lines bellow (line 1664)
Once changed, we return to the lge-res.apk compile
And add it to your zip, and ready to flash.
We have our rom, support for the module XBlast Tools (thank very much my friend @FemBlack) to change color text and background applications.
Once created zip.
We must be installed:

This would be great. But i cant upload the file here, its too big.
But i can email it to you. Just pm me your email adress, please!

Just to clarify, do I need to use xposed and xblast, or can I just reflash the recompiled apk? I find xposed messes up my phone big time.. Thanks!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Nope, don't need xposed to do the apk modification, I just researched it. Looks like I'll be making my system dialogs like AOSP finally!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Also, a reflash is not necessary. Just copy the apk to another location, decompile, change it, recompile and move it back to it's original directory. Reboot, then you'll see the modifications.

Tutorial on How to Change the background for settings, Messaging, Dialer, Logs, etc. on XXLSJ 4.1.2[JB]
I made this tutorial only for Test firmware XXLSJ 4.1.2 as there is no guide or how to on this.
Now I've written this guide for DE-ODEX in mind. You are welcome to try on ODEX and let me know the feedbacks, If any.
NOTE: PLEASE MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE TRYING OUT ANY MOD! AND to be on a safer side try not to copy 'framework-res.apk' manually to system/framework as sometimes it might result in a boot-loop.
Now Assuming you already know how to decompile, edit and recompile apk's
Let's start by decompiling framework-res.apk
OP Updated as editing the xml causes the text to go transparent in some other apps.
Once decompiled find the drawable-nodpi folder and open it. You need to change the png's named 'background_holo_dark.png' and 'tw_background_holo_dark.png' to any other png image of 512x512 dimension of your choice.
Once all this is done you can now recompile your framework-res.apk, adb push and change permissions rw-,r--,r-- or you can make a cwm flashable zip. You should now have the background you desire.
Also you can make the background transparent by reducing the opacity of 'background_holo_dark.png' and 'tw_background_holo_dark.png' using photoshop or gimp.:cyclops:
I've also added link for a cwm flashable zip those who want image from the screenshot.:sillyFramework from AIO MOD by ICS_XD, So credits to him!) : DOWNLOAD
And you can download the Wallpaper from here http://i47.tinypic.com/2lag7c4.jpg.:fingers-crossed:
Enjoy and happy new year 2013.:laugh:

Could you explain more detail, step by step to do it?
Do I need to update Settings.apk only (don't need to modify Settings.odex)?
EDIT:
Dont sign system apk`s.
Copy original meta-inf and android manifest.xml to the modified apk.
That should do the trick.

@niaboc79 Thanks for great work master!
I would like to set only one custom image for the header. Is it possible?

Add your image to your drawable-xhdpi folder then edit your notification_header_bg.xml to point at it, this is how mine looks...
Code:

<ripple android:color="?android:colorControlHighlight"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">
[B]<item android:drawable="@drawable/background"[/B] />
</ripple>
...and should work for most of the Z series.
I hope someone share there work or accept request. ^_^
