Samsung Ap store - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Q&A, Help & Trouble

So I was wondering if anyone is having issues with Samsung ap causing the 8.4 to crash when trying open it? So far it has happened to me twice and the only that clears it is hard reseting the unit.

When you say crash, we're you getting a "Samsung Link has stopped"? I made that go away by continually pressing continue as I managed to Uninstall Samsung Link. Not an ideal fix, but beats having to factory reset.

That's what I meant, and I did the same this time around as not to hard reset the tablet.

Crashing issues possible cause

I just had another crash replying to a post here using tapatalk. The keyboard had small pink corruptions as if video memory had an issue.
I pulled the battery for about 10 seconds, tried to turn it back on. No dice. I tried again except pulled the sim as well, that worked.
Maybe some of us having crashes are sim related?

I've had to do a second battery pull today. Phone locks up then about 5 seconds later the display goes dark. Not fun.

I froze twice in the past three days. I was using hand cent and browsing. The battery had to be pulled in order for restart.

Yesterday I noticed GetJar was keeping the device awake (in battery stats), but otherwise it was responsive and all good. I uninstalled GetJar and rebooted for good measure. It powered down fine, but wouldn't power back up. I had to pull the battery.
My first 'battery pull' so far!
I had my first crash today while I was replying to an SMS message. The screen produced these broken specs of green.
I couldn't exit from the SMS, eventually the screen turned itself off and then nothing.
I had to perform a battery pull to fix.
When the phone booted back up ICS complained that the launcher had crashed.
Instead of clicking 'stop' I clicked 'wait'.
Phone returned to normal after that.

Did you guys restore old apps/app data from your previous Android device? If so, factory reset and START FRESH.
I can't count the people I know that had issues all stubbornly because they refused to start fresh from a new device.

I didn't use a restore. I just added my Google account and let the phone download my apps that I more or less had from my Nexus One.
Is that OK to do?
Or should I have done something else??
Let me know, Thanks.

This is how it works. When you login all the apps install automatically.
I just noticed this morning that a bunch of apps I had uninstalled already on my GN automatically reinstalled. Odd right?

If you have "force 2d rendering" checked in the developer settings, that will cause many issues.

I don't have this checked.

I don't have any dev options on. I'm basically seeing what others are. Lockup, sometimes with screen corruption, then the display eventually goes black some short amount of time afterward. Battery pull required. I thought it may be heat related at one time but it has happened when the device was relatively cool. Seems like a software driver issue that can hopefully be addressed.

MAJOR Camera Problem

Guys. I'm experiencing a BIG problem. Whenever I try to start the camera, the phone hangs, only the onscreen buttons glow when clicked and then I receive an error saying 'Camera has stopped responding' and another one showing 'Talk has stopped responding'. I am totally screwed because I'm here in India, I bought the phone from Germany, and Samsung doesn't give global warranty. I AM DOOMED! What do I do?!
Clear everything and reinstall.

I agree, do a factory reset.
I guess it would be worth your while to try a third party camera app and see if that works before going through the hassle of a complete wipe.

yea reset it or install a different rom and see.
Definitely sounds like a software problem most likely a kernel issue. Download and flash a different combo.

Flashing stock fixed it ^-^! Thanks guys!

Resetting google wallet help

I'm trying to reset wallet but its stuck at 94% 44/47. I let it sit overnight and its still stuck. I've rebooted the device and turned of wifi and it restarts the process and gets stuck at the exact same point. Thoughts?
I have the same issue. Did you ever find a fix?

Have you tried going into setting and clearing data and cache after you tried to reset it from within the app?
I've never got mine to 100% I always give up and do like I mentioned before. If you try to open it after that it starts set up process again.
Haven't had any problems flashing between Roms like that

Change your build prop back to the galaxy nexus one when you first installed it to reset it.

Bootloop

When I restart my phone it gets stuck in a bootloop. If I do a battery pull usually boots up fine. Any suggestions? Stock 4.3 rooted with De La Vega and odin
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
If you search the Note 3 Forums you will find answers, but a quick solution to my Bootloop for my Note 3 and my Note 10.1 2014 Edition was to go into settings, Wifi, select menu then Advanced and unchecked the *Always Allow Scanning. That has permanently fixed all of my bootloop issues.

I believe, I put files or left files in wrong directory during root process....not sure what exactly needs to be where and what needs to be deleted

My Note 3 suffered a few random boot loops out of the box. Then it ended up in sheer boot loop hell soon after it was rooted. At first, I too thought I had done something wrong until seeing all the posts about unchecking "Always Allow Scanning".
After the phone spent a solid 12 hours rebooting over and over, never getting past the T-Mo splash screen, it finally came back up. I unchecked "Always Allow Scanning" in the WiFi settings, and it's been fine ever since.
Okay thanks I'll give it a try appreciate the response

[Q] my phone keeps restarting for NO reason...help please

No matter what KITKAT firmware, MODEM, or KERNEL i use. My phone will just RANDOMLY restart out of no where. It makes no sense. The phone doesn't seem hot, I have tried countless factory resets, formatting systems, re installing GAPS, reflashing modems and kernels, and rooted firmware.
It's especially prevalant when using the GPS. Or anything CPU intensive, I would ASSUME.
Can someone tell me what the heck would be causing this?
T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy SIII
Get the Event Logger app and see if it registers any actions next time. Sounds like yet another power button gone bad though. If so im hoping the app will log the button press before it restarts.
