Never ever install Samsung official updates!!!!
Custom 4.4.2 kk ROMs are the best.

Stock OTA updates will kill your phone
Sent from my GT-I9082 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I tried every damn firmware I had including AMF7 official 4.1.2 , leaked firmware 4.2.2 and also russian 4.2.2.
On all ROMs my phone is hanging.

On a lighter note......after all these AWESOME kitkat roms........perhaps the best of stock roms wud look like sluggish as hell..........some of my colleagues are also in distress with the latest updates and i have no words to them except that the time has indeed come to join in this part of the world....long live our developers.....:good::good:

Hi Dear Users of Samsung Grand Gt-i9082
yes its very true there are a lot of cases reported in Pakistan after OTA/Fota update users are unable to use the Samsung Galaxy Grand model Gt-i9082 , because its too much hanging, you can say so that phone is frozen , users are even unable to click on apps button, and in download mode there is a read colored information added, its solution which i explored and practically check, after that your phone will be work perfectly as it was working before, just you need to downgrade your phone into
version 4.1.2. I hope i will resolve all the issue.
Thanks & Regards

And I feel this is the best version ever tried

And I want your advices .. will I have sudden death or not
My mobile now on android 4.1.2 UAE version
Waiting for your advice
Thanks in advance ^_^
Omg 52 view and no one single answer
Hope somebody help me with his experience

and if ur device have the old eMMC chances of getting sds with 4.1.1 are 99% :silly:

OK , what do YouThink about android 4.3 , is it stable and no issues Till Now
i Think it'S reported That it's more slower Than 4.1.2
and Ram Consume is higher
Thanks , i apreciat Your help

no its not slower at all its smoother ( specially when scrolling on Facebook and on Google plus ) , it has some nice features : like transparent statues bar , look screen widgets , Gs4 music player , updated gallery , newer GPU driver ( smoother gaming ) .....etc
If you go to 4.1.1 then there is huge risk u brick ur device with sds(sudden death syndrome) so dont downgrade to 4.1.1...
Thanks all
If you really want to go back 4.1.1, before choosing any 4.1.1 rom do check if your device is affected with sds brick bug by installing an app from play store. And after that use some custom kernel like persuis.
Ps me too on 4.1.1 miui rom, why? I'm a miui addict!

i have few question
do you guys have any solution for that??
the lag is very obvious, and now getting worst by sometimes cant receive call, some one calling but the phone ring without screen on and hang..
i wondering if the latest update will be OTA? i heard some people say OTA only available for 3 times update, and i used 3 times..
and which stock rom is less problem? i m on malaysia stock rom now..

take a back up all ur photos and data in any HDD or any other card / drive before going for full wipe and K3 firmware india version was good on 4.2.2.....was on K3 before moving on to kitkat.....
for gallery u can use quickpic app.......its a very good replacement application and may freeze/uninstall stock gallery if u r rooted as usual....

although i have never tried myself by flashing other region specific firmware ( i am from india ), but there are tons of discussions on flashing of leaked russian firmwares by many indian users..even custom roms being developed ..when 4.2.2 first hit galaxy grand.....just search a bit..has also youtube videos..
i personally prefe flashing full firmware with complete wipe and all ..whether its stock or custom roms...
so when official 4.4.2 releases if at all...then u can always download your country specific firmware from sammobile.com and flash via odin...simple...and sorry for late reply bro...

[Q] Any other solution other than reverting back to 4.1.2 for lag issue ?

I am fed up with the lag issue in this GRAND duos. tried all these methods
(1) reverting back to amf7
(2) flashing bna4
(3) flashing ubmk3
(4) disbaled stock gallery app
(5) disabled as many as possible official apps....
All the solutions proved to be just temporary. After 24 hours to 4 days it starts lagging again. Now I am sick of flashing firmwares.
My phone is under warranty up to 19 April. If I go to service center and ask for replacement of motherboard/phone, will they replace just on the complain "my this phone hangs a lot. I have googled and found that many users have flashed other firmwares yet phones lag. These users say that this problem has no solution but replacement of motherboard?" (I cannot tell them that I have flashed other firmwares myself).
If any user with same problem has flashed custom ROM, please share your experience.
Bro, though I've never flashed a custom rom on my grand , but my Grand is rooted and I've flashed a lot of mods on it , but my Grand never lags . It is very fast and buttery smooth . I want to ask you that wether you directly started flashing custom roms on your galaxy grand or in the beginning you just rooted and flashed some mods like me ?
@MohdGhufran
From what date is your last stock ROM?
I'm having the same problem. But I've used the CM11 on another occasion and did not face any problem. Then I went back to Stock and updated the same last week.
The phone was very bad (lag). So I returned to the CM11, but the lag continues.
I'll try an earlier stock and after the CM11.
I'll post the result here.
(Sorry for my English by Google)
@Mohdgufran - I agree... I m running umbmk1 ... after 3 to 4 days with out restart the phone starts to lag...
The only solution temporarily is to clear the ram in task manager...
Stay wid 4.2.2 and use a ram cleaner (it sucks a bit battery but its the only possible non technical solution)

Have you tried a factory reset, followed by clean flashing a smooth ROM?? In my experience, THAT always solves any problem...

I think u need a reverse gear.. First back to 4.1 version then flash with 4.2 November month version then use cm 11 custom rom.. Its fast.. Gud battery back up.. No lag.. And all with dual sim.. I hope this will work for u..
Try greenify and the cleaner both are small apps (around 1 mb) and it will speed up your phone .....
Hit thanks if you find this usefull
Didn't root.

I have not flashed any custom ROM on this phone. Neither have I rooted it. This lag issue started since my bro got an OTA update. So, as per solutions/guidance available on xda, I just flashed official firmwares (which proved to be just temporary solutions)

it is not like that stock ROMs are not good. It is just a problem with Galaxy Grand Duos. I had rooted my Galaxy R and Galaxy S Advance and had flashed Custom ROMs. All the custom ROMs had some limitations / missing features (like USB PC connection, wifi tethering, USB tethering, etc). This is why I do not want to flash any custom ROM on Galaxy Grand.

Yes I had tried this. Went back to 4.1 and the upgraded to 4.2. This too proved to be a temporary solution.
I don't want to flash custom ROM but now it seems like I will have to flash the same.
I solved my problem by not installing facebook and twitter as well as also installed battery saver pro which kills apps running in background for every five minutes..

Radio issue is common in all custom roms and to use dual sim functionality you can use cosmic cm v3 for good performance (if camera crashes while video recording you can use google camera instead of stock one)

Hello,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703066
Unknown issues are common like only one sim support, etc.
Through, this ROM doesn't have any unknown issues I suppose.

yeah it is a good rom ( Gennext custom rom is not updated since november last year ) but it based on 4.2.2 JB which means it only supports JB functions . if you really want to use JB rom for good performance you can check PyramiD V2 and *TouchWiz Revolution* V2[Stock 4.2.2]....

How to install stock android rom (jellybean 4.2) on galaxy note 2 running custom rom?

My phone was working fine before but after updating to official KitKat 4.4, phone started giving trouble like hanging problem, camera problem etc. So, I rooted my phone and installed custom rom - AllianceRom_N7100 on my samsung galaxy note 2. But i'm having trouble with this custom rom as well it is not working fine.
I just want to install stock google rom Jelly bean 4.2 on my note 2 because that was the most stable rom running without any trouble. I have read threads but i haven't found solution for myself yet. Can anyone please guide me how to do the same? Thanks in advance
Hi got the same problem before.. even brick my phone.. fortunately there is sammobile and download the stock rim plus odin then problem solved. . Just register to sammobile anyways it's free.. hope this helps
