Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 (USB 3.0?) - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Q&A, Help & Trouble

So on samsungs website also bestbuy a d quite a few others. They advertise the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 with USB 3.O. but obviously it has the standard micro USB port. Unlike Note 3 USB 3.0 style USB port.
Did they somehow make the normal style micro USB 3.0? Or is it false advertizing?

It's usb2.0

micro usb cable 3.0?

I always used a regular micro usb cable to transfer data from my phone to computer and vice versa. I just realized my computer has a usb 3.0 port. Do they make a micro usb 3.0 cabke so I can transfer data faster between my phone and computer?
The cable doesn't matter.
sorry the cable does matter, usb 3.0 has 5 more pins for a total of 9 on the regular usb side and 10 on the micro side... but no, usb 3.0 cannot work with our phone as we would need support and a wider micro port http://images.yourdictionary.com/images/computer/_USB3CON.GIF

USB3.0 has been out a while... I thought all smartphones would come standard, by now, certainly the N2

there is no reason... it doesn't provide extra power and its "micro" format takes up too much space... Samsung has done done headway in the matter, or phone usb ports has 11 pins, but until the usb standard supports the pinout that samsung has on our phone your computer won't be able to use the 6 extra pins. if you notice standard usb 3.0 has 5 extra pins not 6 and the shape is different than micro usb 2.0

Usb otg?

Is this tab usb otg capable? The Sprint version is the one I'm mainly concerned about. Bought the galaxy tab 3 thru Sprint a while back and was disappointed with the lack of that. If this tab does usb otg I'm definitely buying one...

I was thinking of buying one of those red cables... If it is micro USB it should fit. Thinking these are cheap Chinese cables. Maybe it has a faulty connector?
I may try a different one like in my attached picture.
S4 mini doesn't support MHL.
Oh... OK. Well that's cleared that up. ?
Looks like im gonna use these cables on my future Note 3 or S5 ?

The s4mini does support mhl but only with a few cables your best go would be an original adapter from Samsung.

Hmm in my mind, no MHL support means any MHL cables (including Samsung's) is considered useless trash isn't it? Also, there isn't any videos or articles talking abt "S4 Mini on TV" and stuff like dat

I always thought it was compatible because of lines I found in the build.prop
#
# System prop for Tvout/HDMI
#
persist.sys.camera.transform=0
persist.sys.camera.connect=0
persist.sys.videomode=0
ro.hdmi.enable=true
But maybe because stock OS for the mini is cannibalised from its big brother S4 it could just be left over crap... I'm gonna bet it's just not going to work. Shame...

Why no 3.0 or 3.1 cable?

I'm have no idea why Samsung packaged their type C 3.1 phone with a USB 2.0 cable and not even a C to C cable for higher transfer speeds. I understand why the Nexus 6P didn't as it didn't have 3.0 integrated, but this is just a strange move.
I'm pretty sure the Note 7 only supports usb 2 speeds.
At least the Exynos version.

USB v3.1, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector
And when plugged into my computer it states that it can run at a faster speed when using the 2.0 cable.
Took me about 13 seconds to transfer a 600MB file to my Note 7 from my desktop... I'm pretty sure it's supporting USB 3.0, but I'm using snapdragon
When i plug mine into a usb 2.0 port it says "transfers would be faster if you plugged into a superspeed port". Snapdragon here too.

Note 7 Exynos support usb 3.1

I know both the SD and Exynos Note 7 have the usb c connector and SD Note 7 supports usb 3.1.
Does the Exynos Note 7 also support usb 3.1?
Negative
