GS-Kitchen (Android ROM Kitchen for Windows) - Galaxy S 4 i9505 Android Development

You all probably know dsixda's awesome ROM kitchen. It is for Linux, and Windows users may have a tough time setting it up. So, I am making a Windows version, guided by his code (however, I dont use his code). It may look similar, as I thought people would like me to make it similar to Dsixda's. But, it is not.
Special Thanks:
Dsixda's for his original ROM Kitchen.
This thread will not get updated anymore. Check GS-Kitchen RELOADED!
Installation:
1 - Unzip GSKITCHEN to a location without spaces (ex. Do not use C:Usersgot spaces, use C:Usersnospaces)
2 - Run Kitchen.bat

This is written on the topic. This aims to make a good ROM kitchen for Windows users, because it is not that easy to setup Dsixda's ROM Kitchen in Windows.
Also, check the Download section, it has the current release and changelog, the PREVIEW 1 can only make a Working Folder and add root... Im working on the rest, but I thought you would want to actually see something

Updated! PREVIEW 2 now avaliable!

• P1000
• P1000N
• P1000L

• Orientation sensor does work, but with a delay (you need to enable it in settings)
• Wifi
• Root
• 3G
Not Working:
• Camera doesn’t work yet, and won’t anytime in near future, due to great changes in ICS. We’d have to either write of wrapper or find some other workaround
(although it does work in panorama mode)
• Bluetooth
•
Notes:
• Touch buttons can be enabled if you want, (ro.product.characteristics=tablet in build.prop).
• Once you have a file manager installed, you can install app the normal way
• Honeycomb tablet apps works.
• Apparently you can boot this on CDMA sprint tabs as well (very long boot time at first) and P1000R!.
• If you can't get Wi-Fi to work, check here how to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=1175.
If you've got any questions, post them here(thanks joethc): http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=##galaxytab7-ics.
FAQ:
Q: Keyboard not showing up:
A: Change dpi to 160 in build.prop and click on small keyboard icon and slide physical keyboard off
Q: I've got no root?
A: Flash the root at bottom of post (thanks cheatman), or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=262,
Then add the sh.zip (at bottom of page) file via adb to the /system/bin folder of this device.
Thanks to sinamosavi for root!
Q: Issues with apps and/or settings:
A: WIPE DATA, THEN SEE, IT WORKS PERFECT!

• Plug Tab into computer.
• Mount USB storage.
• Copy ICS ROM to SD Card.
• Reboot into recovery.
• Perform a ROM backup.
• Optional, but recommended: Wipe data (if you don't wipe, wait for some time on home screen for the old data to work fine with the new rom).
• Wipe the dalvik-cache.
• Flash ICS ROM.
• Reboot.
• Flash the kernel depending on your tab, (thanks to humberto for this!)
• Flash the root patch and then then the Wi-Fi patch.
• Reboot.
Enjoy!

For devs : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313337

Even though nexus one has fully working build, I chose to port from nexus a as it has same processer and other similar hardware
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
To help devs, download nexus s rom then download cm7 by technomancer and unzip it. Extract the boot.img with splitbootimg.pl script. Compare the init.rc to ICS init.rc. Specifically the most important part here is the PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH statement and BOOTCLASSPATH lines. Build your kernel with the updated init.rc and flash with heimdell.

Help! Guys, any developers:
When i try to split technomancer's cm7 boot.img in terminal, it says:
Android magic not found. Giving up.
Yet when I do this with nexus s ics it splits it, so until unless I can't change the init.rc we can't even build a kernel. Please help, anyone!
If someone can split the cm7 boot.img for me it would help a lot!
Thanks!
Best for you is to try to download Techno Heimdal version and extract initramfs from zimage, check here .
Good luck.

it's good project to make sure a possibility of Galaxy Tab
Have you build a kernel and ROM ?
you should edit init.rc in initramfs which have other block device names.
if i help you , i will happy

Thank you very much, hopefully we will then release a test version.
Quick note, make sure that the new kernel/initrdfs uses the proper new class statements in the *.rc files, there's been a change to that.
Secondary, getting the system to boot isn't terrible once you have the right class statements and new services loading in the init.rc. There will be challenges however with networking due in part I beleive to the sdk build most are sourced from.
I spent some time playing with it the other day, and waiting for the source is the best idea. You'll probably get it booting, but would want to have the source to make some of the changes requried to really get it working more than 80%.
I totally appluad you guys for starting on this though Good to see.

[03-Nov-11][ROM][GSM][CWM] P1000XWJQ3-2.35-Minimal [KERNEL: Overcome v.4.0.0]

DISCLAIMER: I'm not responsible in any case if using this firmware will damage your Tab.
WARNING: This rom is doesn't meant for whoever want a rom ready to use!
I thought i would share this rom with you, it is the same version as the other from mine but without a lot of system apps.
Why this? probably are you asking yourself
Well, i guess that there are a lot of people that do not use like 80% of system apps and so i, i like to modify my own rom as my needs.
Rom Description:
- Stock P1000XWJQ3 Android 2.35 "After the diet"
- This Rom will wipe your Data but not SDcard, make a backup it is suggested.
- Deodexed
- Zipaligned
- Rooted
- Updated Gmail, Maps, Market to the latest versions
- Init.d tweaks
- Build.prop tweaks
- Battery percent Thanks to Cromed
- Add Appextractor
- Add New Market v . 3.3.11 thanks to febycv
- Removed Samsung Animation, Samsung boot sound

If you come from an Overcome rom then just copy the .zip file into your sd card, put your tab into recovery mode and flash it as usual.
If you come from another rom then go to www.teamovercome.net, download last kernel in .tar format, put your tab into download mode and flash the kernel.
Reboot your tab and let it to finish the conversion process.Once it end, put your tab into recovery and flash the .zip previously copied to your sd card.
Credits and thanks.

Cromed for the collaboration
Samfirmware
Google
Samsung
Note:
I did not mod any visual aspect of the rom so do not ask for screenshots, it is the same as any other stock rom with the same TouchWiz 4.0 Launcher.
I know that someone will ask for difference between this and other roms, well, this is a stock rom with some performance tweaks, at my personal taste it is pretty smooth and this won't be compared to the great Overcome roms speaking of visual enanchments and other tweaks.
For some reasons CSC is different in this new version than in older JQ1, i didn't have problems but in case let me know.

[INDEX][LIST] Updater-scripts for dualboot [CM10.2]

Hi S4 users,
Seeing the great development in CM 10.2 for our I9500 and with Grarak's RomSwitcher success , I have decided to add all modded updater-scripts here so that anyone ( especially noobs) can use it with ease.
Since most of the roms are based on CM sources, they may have identical updater-script , but to be on the safer side, i will upload the modded updater script for each 4.3 based ROM here.
REQUIREMENTS
- Galaxy S4 - I9500
- The original ROM you want to dualboot
- @Grarak 's RomSwitcher installed ( latest version) with all its required files downloaded
- PC
- WinZip or 7-zip
What to do
- Download the ROM u want to dualboot ( for example ROM1 )
- download the modded updater script from here
- Extract entire ROM1 to an empty folder ( say folder 'X' )
- navigate to META-INFcomgoogleandroid
- delete updater-script over there and paste the updater-script you just downloaded from here
- go back to folder 'X'
- SELECT all files and folders in it And right click --> 7-zip (or winzip ) --> add to archive --> choose .zip format and name it whatever you like---> Proceed
- Copy the new zipped file to sd card
- boot into recovery (TWRP reccommended )
- wipe cache
- go to install zip
- install the editted zipped rom, editted jb gapps, perseus kernel ( alpha9 +)
- reboot
- you should boot into TW rom, now switch the ROM using RomSwitcher
- Enjoy..............:good::good:
IMPORTANT
- Please download the updater-script after verifying rom name, rom developer and build date/build version
- If some developer wishes that his/her rom shall not support dualboot, please pm me. I will remove your updater-script

[Theme][Mod] Darkydroid - For ArchiPort, QS-i9300-KK [WIP] - Update 4.6 - Released

Darkydroid Theme [WIP]
For Galaxy S3 I9300, Running ArchiPort Beta1/QS-i9300-KK, 4.4.2 ROMS
IMPORTANT: I am not responsible if any thing goes wrong with your device while flashing this theme. You are flashing this at your very own risk.
Hi Friends,
I guess it was time for me to give back the XDA community which has always been there to give. This community is like a teacher and I wanted to give back a gift.
I am running ArchiPort Beta 1. But I wanted a AOSP like dark theme for myself. And since I could not find any I thought "Why not give it a shot!". So here I present my 1st ever Theme for ArchiPort Beta1/QS-i9300-KK ROM for Galaxy S3 I9300. I am calling it the Darkydroid Theme.
This theme is not fully complete yet and it will take me a lot of time to build it completely since I have very little time that I can put into RND here. (I have a 2 year old son and he never leaves me and I don't want to leave him either). Flashing what I share with you, is not going to change the look and feel of your device completely. But it eventually will, when the theme completes!
Keeping that in mind my idea is to release this theme in parts. When I feel that I have something stable and perfect that can be shared with the community, I will share it.
So please don't ask for any releases. I will however try to solve any bugs are found in the existing releases.
So without further delay here are the download links::fingers-crossed:
Change list is available in post #2

NOTE: This theme will not work with any other mods that you may have installed on your device. It may not work with your existing mods because I have made changes in the system file and it your mod also made changes to the system file then flashing this will override your existing mod.
And if it works with your existing mods, please update the thread/me so that I can mention necessary information in the OP itself.
Thanks Giving: :highfive:
First of all I would like to thank XDA Community.
And ...
- @JustArchi, @Kryten2k35 for the wonderful ArchiPort ROM.
- @Spannaa for clearing my doubts and the VR Theme flasher.
- @joehanh88 for his guide (its old but still it helped)
- @Crussader, @Ticklefish, - @vanessaem, @lacoursiere18 for your support. This was not possible without your help. :good:
- @_alex74_ for his valuable 100% battery mod.
- anyone else whom I forgot to mention about.
Change Log
Change Log:
Version 4.5:
1. UI updates...
2. MMS app themed.
3. Battery % now shows over the battery icon itself.
(Battery will show a red bolt symbol while charging. Also when the battery reaches 100% the text will go out of the icon. But i guess that wont be much of a problem to anyone coz battery won't stay at 100% for very long.)
Version 4:
1. UI updates... thats all for now
Version CONT-PHON 003.1:
1. Themed some icons for QS-i9300-KK ROM... nothing new other than that
Version CONT-PHON 003:
1. Themed SecPhone.apk
2. Themed SecContacts_OSup.apk
And this ....
And this one too ....

Can you also please post a 245dpi dialler too? I hope there are other people too who like 245dpi rather than 320dpi.

Well i haven't tried yet, i'm sure theme will work fine but the only issue is dialler, it needs to be modded for 245dpi. If u have installed it in your phone already, can u try switching to 245dpi and see if dialler looks fine on 245dpi?

I'd love to see support for Sammy's 4.3, especially NG3. This way I could even add it to the AD 1.X .
