Vibration not working any more - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Vibration is missing on my SGN. I had tried to use android 4.0.4, 4.1, 4.2.2 and 4.3 and vibration still not working any more. In the settings - sound I had check an option to Vibration and nothing help. No viration for incoming calls, messages, bootload android, manual setting to use silent/vibrate mode.
What it can be and how to fix? Around one year vibration was work fine at my SGN but now didn't work.

Well the motor is probably just dead. Since you are probably not covered by warranty the only way seems to be to replace it yourself.

[Q] Notification bug or something else?

I've got a problem where none of my ringtones work. When I get a incoming call, I see a little status icon that seems to indicate no sound, then I get a small beep followed by the answer the call screen.
I do get notifications for SMS messages so I'm unclear as to whether or not this is the standard notification bug or something different. Additionally, the problem continues after a reboot.
Silent mode is off, the phone is set to ring and vibrate (neither happen), and I have a standard ring tone (I've tried almost all of them).
My modem is FD19 and I'm using Calkulin's E4GT 2 v1.4 rom. I've had ringtones on this rom with different modems - but every time something would happen and it would stop working?
Interesting... if I reboot and bluetooth is off (not sure bluetooth is related), the first call will ring. The second won't. I didn't do anthing but answer the phone then hangup my receiver and wait for the phone to return to the home screen on its own.
This acts like the notification bug but with somewhat slightly different behaviors and fixes.
I am now on FD24 modem - so much for the notification bug fixe!

Volume and vibrate don't revert after removing headphones

Hi, I dunno if this is a stupid question or what but here goes...
I'm on AndroidME CM10, and when I plug in the headphones the phone automatically goes to vibrate. Fine. But when I remove the headphones it doesn't revert to the mode it was in before the headphones were inserted. And if I change the mode using the toggles, the ringer and notification volumes are really low, nearly minimum. So I have to expand the volume menu and turn them all up again. It's not a huge problem, but a bit annoying if I forget to toggle it or to turn the volume up. On my old phone (Galaxy 5700 Spica CM7.2) it just reverted to the previous setting whenever I took the headphones out. Is it a ROM thing, or a JB thing, or am I just stupid and missing something really simple in settings? Thanks
probably ROM related. Works for me
Was worried it might be; guess I'll just have to flash a new ROM

no ringtone on phone calls?

So kind of a weird issue that I've never experienced even on custom Roms. My phones ringtone has stopped working. It will vibrate and always receives calls, I have notification sounds and alarms work just fine but the phone never actually rings it only vibrates. I've tried all the setting thru the quick menus and digging thru the settings. I've tried changing ringtones, using different ringtones, vibration on and off and I can't figure it out. This is a recent problem as the the ringtone did work before but has stopped since. Any help would be appreciated.

get zedge from play store get any ringtone download then set as default ringtone see if that works
I'm pretty sure that I've been having issues with it not ringing properly when in my pocket. Either it's not ringing at all or it's so quiet it's inaudible. I just turned off "pocket mode" and "quiet ring on pickup" in sound settings. Haven't got the chance to test whether one of those settings is the cause yet, but I have a feeling one of them is.

Vibration on notification

Hi guys, I am on stock firmware and love the phone - except from the vibration, that is simply too hard and loud for my taste. I have disabled the touch vibration, I have disabled vibration for calls and I also disabled it in various apps like WhatsApp. But I cannot seem to get a hold of the vibration for standard notifications from apps without their own notification settings. A friend of mine has the same phone without notification vibration and he does not remember any specific setting he could have disabled and I cannot find any myself. Am I experiencing a bug or does anybody have an idea?

[MIUI 13.0.8] Mute notifications, allow calls

Heya,
so, as the title says, I'm having issues muting the notification and app sounds, while still allowing phone calls to get through and ring the phone out loud.
In the past, this was achievable by the Do Not Disturb mode. Right now however, it doesn't mute notifications anymore, as that is now done by the new "silent" mode. But that one also mutes incoming calls, which is completely unusable for me (I have occasional on-call nights when I need to be available on my phone, even if I'm sleeping, yet find the constant pinging of the apps super annoying).
The only working solution I found was to go into notification settings and block notifications from most of the very frequent apps... Which is annoying, as I also have to not forget to toggle the notifications back the next day.
Is there still a way to achieve the "Mute media and notifications, keep calls" combo in Android 12 + MIUI 13? Thanks!
On most phones the phone ringtone and notification volume is separate, is that not the case in your device?

Unfortunately not, instead, I have media, calls and alarm clock (as seen in the screen).
If I mute media, I still get notification and call sounds. If I mute the bell, I no longer get either. Dnd has no effect on the notification sounds.

This certainly sucks, can't every smartphone company share good things from each other instead of adopting all the bad changes. look around on Google maybe there are apps for this.

Hey have you found any solution? As I'm also struggling with same problem
It sucks, but until they fix it, you can use this app.
On the downside, it not only mutes sound, but completely mutes the notification including the badges , though. Anyone please post if you have a better solution.
i know im late. but i found a fix. (kinda) if you remove your notification sound completely. through settings, notifications and vobrations, notification sound and then while in the themes app. ringtone, and then no romg tone. even tho i thaught it changed the ringtone. if you go through settings first. ot will change the notification sound and not the ringtone. hope this helped
While waiting patiently for A13 ROMs for my current daily driver to mature a bit more I am using a silent audio file for the notification sound. I can't believe all these years MIUI still doesn't have an option to unlink calls and notification volume.
