4.3 Samsung Themed Keyboards - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

These Keyboards where done by @DoctorQMM over in the AT&T Note2 section. These keyboards DO/WILL work on our Sprint Variant of the Note 2 and look amazing. Again Thanks to DoctorQMM for his outstanding work.
I've always hated a plain ordinary stock keyboard and when 4.3 came out I didn't see anyone working on it, so I ventured thru the other n2 threads and came across this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2599343
Links and his Original Op are posted in the 2nd post below
If you like @DoctorQMM work then please consider going to his thread and give him a thanks.

Compadres, since I recently upgraded my SGN2 from 4.1.2 to 4.3 MK6, thought I'd take a stab at re-theming the Samsung keyboard... sharing for anyone who likes the stock Samsung keyboard (i.e., dedicated number row on main screen) but want some color splash as well. The 4.3 SamsungIME was a bit more challenging to theme than 4.1.2 (about 4 times as many png edits).. but its done, so here you go:
NOTE: this is the stock MK6 SamsungIME.apk (keyboard) pulled from seanzscream's "Sky_Note Air Vanilla F1" rom. BTW, what a masterpiece of rom development by seanz... absolutely best rom I've run in past 3 yrs (feature full, fast, ZERO FCs, and stellar battery life!). If you're still on 4.1.2, I wholeheartedly recommend checking out his work. Keyboard themes tested on "SkyNote Air Vanilla F1 (UCUBMK6) which is based on the latest ATT OTA..

Flashable Zip for Stock keyboard (from official Sprint OTA MK4 base):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ifuq4uybcq0t29z/SamsungIME4.3.zip
How to Install:
1. make a copy of your current active SamsungIME.apk (found in /system/app ) and put it in a safe place (in case you wish to revert back). Do
NOT move or rename the active file.. just copy it and store in a safe location (i.e., on ExtSD or your computer).
2. make a nandroid / backup of your current rom (just in case)
3. copy desired keyboard flashable zip to your phone
3. boot to custom recovery... wipe cache.... flash keyboard zip (note: the Zip script will also wipe Dalvik Cache)
4. reboot and enjoy

Nice work! I'll be flashing some of these any second now.

Nice!

great work buddy. have u been working on calendar? although not much can be done with it a spose
can u help me out. nothing to do with your work btw your work is great. im on the lightning rom with lightning theme but when i plug usb in i get the ugly green and orange android images. is there anyway i can change them images through root explorer? rather then taking out framework.res and other stuff
any chance of it without the steelblue black with blue lines header thing. thats the only thing i never liked about steelblue
If u like the droids from Steel Blue on USB plugged i can upload it here and u place it in framework-res.apk.

Hello,
Sorry. This is not exactly about your mod, but I am trying to replace Video call button with message button on my Note 2 (4.1.2). I have been searching since several months, but all I found was that I need to change some xml file in SecContact.apk. I have decompiled SecContacts.apk, but I have no clue as to what to change.
Could you please give me a clue?
After you decompile the APK, you need to look for Layout files which define how the UI will be displayed. These are XML files.
You should study the structure of XML, then you should study how android uses layout files. The easiest way to find the correct Layout file IMO, is to find the Picture of the button you are trying to move, and by filename, find which files are referencing to it.
This is your clue

[WIP] [Theme] Jelly Bean Remix HD for MIUI

I am new to theme making, and hopefully will get some help on a few things to maybe make more.
MIUI theme (.mtz) format.
This is based off of raakaysh's Jelly Bean Remix with the use of the massive ICS Plates HD icon pack.
I replaced the stauts_bar_close_on with one I found over at htcmania and edited the colors to match.
I also changed all the lettering in the status bar ICS blue instead of blue/white.
I changed the notifications toggle/background to one taken from Dark Mint V4 by Whiteboy with a few bg color tweaks.

}
Issues so far:
I guess the status bar close is a .9.png file and I set the dimensions the regular way. I guess there is a special way to edit them, so I have to fix that. The bar dimensions extend too far to beyond the bottom of the screen.
Also maybe some apps have text field whiteout (white on white text/background). I don't know if its specific app issue or It could be an alternate bg color that's set to white.
I also have a simplified theme also I started.
Preview:
(Based off the YUI2 and Jelly Bean Remix theme)
Instructions:
Download attached .mtz theme file
Place .mtz theme file into \MIUI\theme\ folder
Open Themes on phone. Hit the menu button and Import from SD card. Go to \MIUI\theme\ folder where you placed the .mtz. Choose JBRHD2.mtz and wait for it to import. You will see the theme added to your theme selections. Apply the theme.
Note: The preview/screenshots in the theme selector are incorrect and will be fixed in the final release version. They are from Rakesh's version (this themes base).
Download:
JBRHD2.mtz - 52.65 MB
downloads????
Download Link Added.
Please reply with any bugs/issues, likes or hates.
Nice job, Leonard! However, it still requires a little improvements. You will not be able to make a perfect them unless you learn .9 png editing. It has given me an Idea to write a tutorial on the topic.
Regards!

[KEYBOARD] Dark GE/AOSP 4.3 Keyboard (LatinIMEGoogle)

As from my Thread for the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus4 , here is the HTC One GE version of the Dark Keyboard
Use at your own risk!

I was just looking for a dark and good looking JB Keyboard,
but I couldn't find a simple dark keyboard as I had found for my ICS.
So I just copied the conted of the drawable-xhdpi folder from my
ICS-Dark-Keyboard to the drawable-xhdpi folder of the JB-Stock-Keyboard and the AOSP/AOKP Stock Keyboard.
So the theming-credit goes to someone else I don't know by name, but I realy love this stock looking dark keyboard.
My contribution is only the idea to put it into a GE 4.3 Keyboard APK and make the flashable ZIP
hope you like it, have fun guys!
in some cases it can cause Keyboard FCs so Backup before!
if you've played with your DPI it could happen that you will not see any changes because this Keyboard for (X)XHDPI
Download flashable ZIP
(LatinIMEGoogle.apk for GE 4.3, I've tested with TrickDroid GE 2.0 ROM )
Do it yourself way for every GE/AOSP ROM and everyone who can use a ZIP Tool:
Download RES/XHDPI files
Code:
- Download res.zip from my Googledrive
- extract your ROMs Keyboard file (LatinIME.apk, LatinImeGoogle.apk, no matter wich one you have) using a Root Explorer
or just grab it out of your ROM's ZIP-File
- copy your keyboard file to a PC
- open your Keyboard file with 7-zip (open Source)
- go to res/drawable-xhdpi and drag&drop all the files from the res.zip's drawable-xhdpi folder you've downloaded
- put back the changed keyboard APK to your phone, copy it to system/app and don't forget to change the permissions to what it was before
Thats all, no magic required!
Feel free to use the Dark Keyboard in any ROM, I don't care. :victory:
