Official flip cover - $20 shipped - LG Optimus G Pro

I purchased one of these a week ago and came in today, it's the official AT&T / LG flip cover with wireless charging and NFC.
Came in today, in a plastic bag inside a padded envelope. Works great, feels great, definitely the real thing.
Don't mean to sound like an ad, it's not my listing, but I've seen people getting replacement back covers without Wireless charging for $30+shipping, so this at $20 is a steal!

One question, if I hold the phone or sit the phone on the table, back side down, the front flip cover part doesn't stay all the way shut. The right side is about 1/4th inch up off the screen. The auto screen on/off still works but it'd be nice if the cover stayed "tight" on the screen. Though I understand there is no magnet or anything on the far side so it may not be possible, is it... possible?

" the front flip cover part doesn't stay all the way shut. "
That's probably why it was a RETURN aka REFURBISHED and why there was only one of it. Discounted.

I just bought 2 from the same seller (extra one by accident, hope this seller a4c will let me return it for refund. He didn't even responded to any of my email telling him to just send one). I want to know what do you think of this flip case overall, since you've been using it for a while by now. Does it protect the phone from accidental drops well? I'm thinking I'll have to bind the cover with a large rubber band or something to keep it from opening up when it drops. Right now I'm using am Abecus flip case. It works okay, but holding it in my hand is kind of awkward and tiring. I'm hoping to do better with this lg flip case.

Yeah I'm also searching for a nice smart case for the G Pro and would love your feedback

I just got mine today, and I must say,I'm kind of disappointed. This flip cover case offers no real protection to the phone what so ever. The cover itself may protect the screen from scratches in the pocket or bag, but I already have a screen protector for that. It's really just a lg e980 back cover with a screen cover flap attach to it. There is no protection to the four corners of the device if the phone falls. The battery most likely to come out if the fall is a hard one. The flap itself doesn't attach to anything, there isn't a magnet or a button to keep the flap close. The overall appearance of the phone with this case, is just like the original phone with a black plastic screen cover, but it does give a smart look. Earlier the op mentioned that the cover won't stay tight. On mine it works fine, may be it's not staying tight due to that the synthetic leather needs be worn before it will fit right, but it's really not an issue. The plus side of this case is that when you close the flap, it does make the device sleeps, and open the cover wakes the device. This feature alone is worth the price of the case. Using the cover to wake and puts it to sleep beats the gestures and the button any day. I'm not sure about other features I have heard about, such as the NFC and the wireless charging because I haven't tested them. I may return this case because it doesn't protect my Phone, but my other cheap wallet case is already showing signs of wearing, and this case does look sharp. So I don't know. I may have to shop for another case soon. I will post in a few days after using this case for a while.

Well they just suppose look fancy but where never intended to really protect the phone.

What's fancy about a piece card board like screen cover attach to the back cover? I figure since they call it a case, it suppose to protect the phone. My cheap wallet case offers some protection when I drop it. They really should call it 'screen cover' because there is really not a case anywhere. But like I said, the best part of this 'case' is the screen sleep/wake function. I may grow to like this special back cover after all.

Yeah, it's a great little case. I bought the black one, and i'm looking at getting a blue one next. Really cheap for official ones from Trusted Sellers on ebay (roughly £7 without original packaging, £10 with)
the only downside is it lets dust through the little holes, so you get a neat little dust pattern on the back side of your phone - a regular removal and wipe on your trousers helps.
I've had one on it for about 2 weeks and I like it, only drawback is I had to shave down by USB connector plastic to get it to fit while the case is still on. I ordered another from dealextreme because it was really cheap. I notice the case just touches the mic area but doesnt cover it up. I like it because it's not very bulky and the plastic 'mesh' back fits over a soft case and makes it rigid and easy to hold.
Good luck for u
Got a generic cheap mesh case from eBay, its pretty awesome but as mentioned above, gets a bit dirty after some long time, and mine is cheap enough to start breaking on corners, had a few falls tho, and that's the purpose of a case, so the phone doesn't break instead
I had this case, it was okay at the start but in the end the plastic on the top corner started breaking away. Also the one and only time I dropped my phone with this case on I got a nasty scratch just above the screen where there was no protection. I had to ditch it. I'm using a plain black tpu case now, much more protection. The advantage of the mesh case is that its so slim.
Edit : Oh yea and its a dust magnet.
Got the original mesh case, I dropped it twice since I got it. First time no damage at all, protected the phone nicely. Second time the phone popped out of the case as it hit the floor (shoulder hight, had a nice spin to it also) but both the case and the phone didn't suffer any damage. So I guess it serves it's purpose and looks nice as well.
Aesthetically nice.
Crap if you want proper protection.
I bought it merely to protect the camera and back when I put the phone down to prevent scratching. For overall phone protection it's definitely going to be lacking as the top and bottom edges of the phone aren't covered. The case clips on easily but stays on fairly tightly. The rubbery material gives better grip when holding the phone. Dust does get in over a week or so over the back of the phone, though isn't noticeable with the case on, and can easily be wiped off. I think the case looks pretty nice, all key areas are fully accessible and for the price of about £8 was worth it.
is not compatible for i9100P
I've just buy the genuine Samsung mesh vent case for my Samsung Galaxy S2 win NFC (i9100P) but it is NOT compatible. My colleague on the i9100, not NFC, perfect fit.
Some ideas?
Light, strong and keeps the thinness we all love about our S2s!
Dropped mine a couple of times on to wooden floors and no damage yet
Protects the camera lens too when lying on a flat surface
The dust comments are true but only noticeable when u take the cover off so no big deal and it fits so snugly it kinda looks part of the phone!
To answer original question tho, no only stands in portrait
I got an official Samsung one given with mine. Good at protecting from scuffs when it's on a table or desk but wouldn't like to trust it with protecting my phone from a fall.
That's why it's sat unused in a cupboard at work! If anyone wants it just message me and I'll stick in the post.

Leather Case Cover VERUS "Classic K"

i have found this case at ebay for galaxy note and would like to hear your oppinion about it? maybe anyone has it and can leave some feedback
ebay link http://www.ebay.com/itm/Leather-Cas...ccessories&hash=item3371580d09#ht_5270wt_1270
I have the brown one and it looks elegant but mine doesn't fit well. I mean, I can hear some squeaking when I press on both sides and honestly it bothers me sometimes. I don't know if it's just mine though. The texture feels great and it protects the four corners of the phone, which in my opinion are the areas most likely to hit the ground first if you drop them. It's not stitched and I feel that overtime the sides might separate. I have not tried the free screen protector because I'm not into screen protectors at all. I just really like feeling the glass when I swipe, lol.
I've got a black one, really nice quality
was half the price of the samsung cover (well in New Zealand anyway...)
and much nicer, covers the back perfectly and protects from drops all around and looks really stylish. No magnets or clips to haggle with for flipping the cover.
Its true its not stitched around the corners which gives in a potential to separate, but it seems like a very thick kind of rubber type sealant edging, not cheap superglue type stuff, so very flexible and shouldnt seperate unless you bend it in ways it shouldnt go.
I've had mine for a couple of months and stick it in my pocket everyday, flip the cover over fully to the otherside all the time for holding/calling, got a nice felt material inside on the screen side of the cover, plastic holder for the phone but holds the phone very well but you can still get the phone out easily if needed.
The cover sits perfectly flat on the phone (standard back cover on my phone probably wont fit one of those non-oem aluminium covers which are slightly thincker I believe)
Arrived in a couple of weeks from an ebay seller in Hong Kong I think..
I recommend it! and hey, its only a few bucks so no big loss if its not your exact preference
thank you guys for very well-explained feedback samsung original flip cover cost same price as this cover, so i prefer buying this verus cover instead samsung flip

If you mean if the front cover can easily flip to the back of the note I'd say yes and you could actually squeeze it flat not like the free flip cover that it leaves an extra front cover out the side so you can't really hold it flat comfortably. Also, the logo in the flip cover leaves a mark on the screen, but not really a biggy. It's either dirt or moisture because of the concavity, I'm not really sure. You can wipe it off easily though. I have mine for just a couple of weeks so maybe that'll disappear over time. And I agree, it's a good case for the price and you won't regret getting it.
I've attached some pictures for reference.
And a few more.

The problem with Flip Covers...

1. Unable to hold and operate it with the thumb of the hand that is holding it, must use two hand;
2. Yes you can fold the cover back to use your thumb, but this will eventually make the edge worn off easily, and also create ugly lines along the edge surface
Any comments?
Tried it for a day and found out it's very annoying. It protects the screen from dust and all but it also makes it more harder to hold the phone, let alone do any business with it.

Yes, this is the problem of all horizontally-opened covers like Zenus, not just the Samsung flip-cover.
Same here. I used another flip cover case (from another third-party vendor that I shall not name). Very elegant and beautiful case, but the flip cover always stands in the way of me operating the phone. I got tired of it after a few days, and switched back to my slim case (which only covers the back).
After all, this device is phone first, tablet second. I need to be able to quickly access it to take phone calls, send messages, etc., without the hassle of constantly opening the flip cover.
But to give the flip-cover case some credit, it is very nice for reading an ebook on the Note. It makes the device feel like a real paperback. You can actually hold on to the flip cover with your left hand and read.
Totally agree. Waiting for my tpu case to come in.... Andmy sgp ultra crystal screen protector.

Official Flip Cover questions please

Can anyone upload some pics of it on please.
Does it fit perfect?
How's quality, does it scuff easily?
Does it fold back on itself so you can use the phone like this?
Does it stay shut ok, is there anything to keep it closed? Im a bit worried it might end up getting folded the wrong way so doesn't stay closed properly? Would be great to have an iPad like smart cover...
I'm about to order a white S3, but am going to get the blue flip case as I like the contrast between the two, anyone have this combo?
I have the official white flip case and it looks really good. You remove the original back off the galaxy siii and clip in the flip case instead. A perfect fit too. Very professional looks good to me. The top flip part does fold behind back of phone easily! seems designed to fold that way too!
When flip cover is closed over screen it doesnt fasten in place but it does stay in place well. Only bought phone and flip case yesterday..

I ordered a flip case with my vzw preorder, but I'm going to get the wireless charger when it releases and that requires a unique back cover that I suppose will then make the flip cover useless to me....

NO. WAY!!!
/sarcasm
I got mines for free from P4U they gave me a 32gb card and an original case i was shocked i thought it would be a cheap case lol..
It fits perfect the interior for the front is a soft cloth like the ones you get when you buy a screen protector..
The outside is hard plastic feels awesome to the touch.. It does cover the LED so you will miss your notifications if you do happen to miss it. But at in the dark you can see it..
Oh and the back bit adds a bit of weight to it so your phone feels alot more heavier not too heavy though makes it feel perfect.. Back plate isn't flexible either it's solid..
I've not had any scuffs at all in the last 4 days i have been using it so no it doesn't get ruined easily I guess..
Other then that it's a brilliant case..
Has anyone purchased the blue version of the flip case? How does the shade of "chrome blue" compare to the "pebble blue" of the original back?

My idea is to get the white S3 and buy the blue flip cover, I think they look good together
The problem with the official flip case is that it actual replacing the original back cover and it is made from the same material just like the original back cover.
The display is protected but the back side...well...unprotected...you can still scratch the back.
After several weeks or months the back cover will still be damaged and it will look ugly with all that scratches...and then what? buy another flip cover?
Has anyone tried to combined the official flip case with another case or bumper or whatsoever to protect the back cover?
With this for example:
http://www.incipio.com/Samsung-Gala...-S-III-feather-Ultralight-Hard-Shell-Case.asp
I would like to see a drop test with the flip cover vs no flip cover and see if it actually protects the screen, otherwise it doesn't worth anything.

Beside the fact that it does not protect the back cover.
I have also some doubts regarding this issue.
The thing is, there is lock or snap on mechanism on the flip case.
Meaning, the flip can be opened very easily...I dunno if this is still reliable if it falls like...not opening during fall and leave the screen unprotected.
Note:
Providing some degree of protection during fall, it is impossible to protect it to 100%.

No offense guys, but this is simply one of the worst ideas I have ever seen for a phone accessory. Why in the hell would anyone want to add more steps to accessing their phones? I can understand it with a tablet, where you're never in huge hurry to start working on something; but on a phone?!?! Flip-phones are extinct for a reason guys.

This. I have a flip-cover for my OG Galaxy Tab, but I've never been able to understand why you'd want one on a phone either.
Flip covers provide very little protection against drops; make it more inconvenient to instantly access your phone, and have an annoying floppy flap on the back when open during calls.
The only pros I can see is that it looks "adult", and that some flip covers fold to act as a landscape stand.

So you are also against leather pouches/sleeves?
It provides screen protection for when the phone is in a pocket.
No, the flip cover doesn't protect the back - it's not meant to since it is a replacement back. I.e. the mere fact that you can easily replace the back with a new one means that rather than put an additional cover on there you could just treat the back as a cover and replace it if it gets scratched.

Exactly.
I don't like cases in general. The back cover is a replacement as you say, the front flap is to protect the screen in pocket. This is exactly what I want. I don't want a bumper, back case that adds bulk to the phone. It's slim and light for a reason.
My other option is a pouch, so I can again protect in pocket, but use the phone naked

I have another solution (works for me): Put your keys and your change in your *other* pocket, then you don't need any pocket screen protection. As an added bonus, the screen emerges from your pocket with all the fingerprints mostly wiped off.

VOIA CleanUP V20 Case review

I finally got my Voia CleanUP case from Voia.
Was really looking forward to this case, with the quick-open cover and the slick looks that were offered on the website: http://www.voia.co.kr/goods/view?no=362
However after using it for a while I'm extremely disappointed with it, and I feel the quick cover/quick open feature isn't all that useful and somewhat gimmicky. Here's a quick review.
General Notes:
- The transaction was quick and easy, even from Korea. Very nice job by Voia here.
- I've posted an album of the phone installed in the case here: http://imgur.com/a/rJSLJ
Pros:
- Very nice looking case, really like the "brushed metal" look on the front of it.
- Fairly slim, keeps the bulk of the phone down
- The Quick-Open feature is somewhat nice, but also a con. The case doesn't seem to utilize the second screen function any differently than without it, but turning the phone on and off with the flip of the cover is pretty cool. I guess.
- Phone fits snugly and easily in the case
Cons
- The quick-open flap doesn't stay closed, flush with the phone (see photos). This was the most frustrating part for me because it actually makes the phone kind of a pain to just pick up and use since you'll be fumbling with the partially opened cover.
- The Quick-cover feature to turn the phone off and on is pretty poorly implemented. Flipping the case closed to turn off the phone is actually quite nice. However turning it on, especially if you use fingerprints, is a pain. When I open the case I flip the cover all the way back behind the phone. However this completely blocks the fingerprint sensor. So instead you have to flip the case open half way with one hand and use your other hand to put in your fingerprint. I'm not too sure there is much Voia could have done here, but this makes the phone fairly inconvenient to use
- The corner bumpers are just hard plastic. While it offers better than no protection at all, any fall from even a marginally significant height will not be cushioned by the hard plastic. If you drop the phone on the left side where the spine of the cover is, there is absolutely no protection at all. If you're looking for good drop protection for your new V20, I wouldn't go with this
- The volume buttons.... this one doesn't make sense to me. When the case is closed the volume buttons are covered by the spine of the cover. You can still use them, but you have to sort of guess where they are. When the case is open they're, oddly enough, even harder to get to as the folded spine of the cover blocks your thumb from getting right to them. You'll see in the photos.
Overall for about $25 this case was a huge let down. It does more to make the phone inconvenient to use than convenient. I'm going to get in touch with Voia to see about getting a refund. Maybe somebody else will have a different experience.
I've got this case as well & have never been a huge fan of this style of case as it is,at least not for a daily driver:
All cases such as this seem to get in the way of usability one way or the other.
I use mine for those times when I leave the house & know I won't be using the phone much at all,the main benefit being while in-pocket,the front flap serves to protect the phone from other items in my pocket (keys/etc...).
It's a well-crafted case & I don't have the problem with the front flap staying partially open as you do (perhaps check that the phone is fully seated in the case,I had this problem at 1st).However,those looking for bullet-proof protection a la Otterbox should look elsewhere,as this style of case isn't built to withstand anything more than minor bumps/drops/etc....
I recommend this case for those that use this type of case, but, with reservations,as you noted regarding using the fingerprint scanner.

Agree with all your remarks. I've emailed Korea to see if they are changing the design at all. For me the biggest drawback is the cover not closing. If I put the phone down face down all the time to keep the case closed there's no point in having the window for the second screen. Will post if I get any satisfaction.

I also have the case.
The pros are the fact that the color actually matches (Titan in my case), It protects more than 80% of the screen when the door is closed and recesses the rear camera so putting it on a table will not scratch it.
I don't have an issue at all with the case door opening. As a matter of fact, I've had a spigen quick view case for my S4 which clipped close and it was a slight pain in the ass.
I like how the view hole doesn't block the camera. I at times wonder if they should have put a hole for the finger print as it is really annoying to open the phone and slip your right hand behind to access the fingerprint scanner. I also don't like how the volume buttons are blocked.
I'm happy with it over any of those worthless cases that only protect the back of the phone.
Also bought this case and is my favorite so far.
I found the following:
Although the cover didn't close all the way initially it now does. The binder side seems to stretch slightly with use until it's flush. Enough time in the pocket and it will become flush.
I wish it had a felt lined inside cover instead of just hard plastic
This case matches the contours really well and you can still enjoy the phone's design.
I really like having all the port side exposed so that cable and headphone blockage isn't an issue.

Agree with all your remarks. I've emailed Korea to see if they are changing the design at all. For me the biggest drawback is the cover not closing. If I put the phone down face down all the time to keep the case closed there's no point in having the window for the second screen. Will post if I get any satisfaction.

Just received full refund from Korea. Told me to keep the case. I'd definitely buy it again if they fix the fit.

I have had the case about a week. Mine stays closed... perhaps a screen protector binding?
Very well made but yes you need to remember to use the fingerprint sensor with your right hand while opening. I find myself using the dot password more like I did on my g3 with the same type case. About ready to take a gromit hole punch and make a hole for my finger sensor : )
The materials are very slippery both closed and open. the one on my g3 was not nearly as slippery. Thinking of ideas to solve this that are clean.
I do like the protection for the front as I am hard on screens and dont like protectors.
It is also very thin which i like but as others mentioned not much protection. i dropped my g3 with a similar case several times. Some damage on the corners but the screen always survived. The case cracked on 3 corners : )
I switched to a tpu type case for a trip to Disneyland in case of dropping it but the thickness was a real pain. Jury is still out ...
Thanks to the OP for the review on this case (and for the heads up since I didn't know about this one yet) because I think I'll have to check it out, but I just a couple quick questions for anyone who might know.
How long did shipping take for you guys who have yours already? Also I bought a cheap flip case the day I got mine from Amazon and it's actually not as bad as I thought it would be, but does anyone know it it's possible to have the screen unlock when you flip it open but still be able to use your fingerprint everywhere else? Everytime I flip it open I have to put my pin number in (which I'd rather have it go straight to the screen) but if I want to disable it it also disables my fingerprint, does it anyone know if there's a way around that?

Important update. Due to the hard plastic around the viewing window, it can cause scratches on your screen. I have a rectangular mark on the screen that can't be removed. This is a VERY STUPID move on the maker's part. How idiotic can a designer be?

Ok now damn that would certainly be one hell of a deal breaker imo! Sorry to hear about that with your phone and I hope you don't take this the wrong way because I'm definitely not trying to say you're mistaken or anything (I don't even have the case so I couldn't argue without what you're saying even if I could to), but I'm just wondering can anyone else who has this case also confirm this?
